no update yet. I'm gonna run the tool that is suggested, but I have no other issues with any previous patch. I thought the content of the file I added to my post would have ring a bell to somebody, who had the same problem, but it seems like I was wrong. I'll post once I run the tool suggested in the note

  • Unable to cast object of type InfoObject to DestinationPlugin

I have created a web application to show the list of scheduled reports and with their destination Info using Business objects sdk. Locally on my computer i am able to show all the reports and the Ftp information. But when i move this application to QA server the application returns an error with a message.
"Unable to cast object of type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoObject' to type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.DestinationPlugin"
I have noticed that the returned type of Object by the query on QA server is of type "InfoObject" and on localbox "CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Dest.Ftp"
    Query
    Select * from ci_systemobjects where SI_NAME= ''", "CrystalEnterprise.Ftp"
Assemblies required by application are registered in the GAC with same version and same public token
Please let me know if anyone has a answer for this casting exception.

    Snippet:
    Dim ftp As New Ftp(infoObject.PluginInterface)
    Dim ftpOptions As New FtpOptions(ftp.ScheduleOptions)
You wouldn't be doing a direct runtime cast.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

    Hi Experts,
I have an SAP query which needs to be run on a daily basis (through a back ground job) and the data that is pulled has to be stored in a file in tab delimited format and the same should be extracted to an FTP site. Can you please suggest ways for this?
    Thanks,
    Shashank.

    Hi ,
    Thanks for our reply.

  • Query re FTP adapter : Message Status

    Hi All,
For an FTP adapter, if a message is in 'To BE Delivered' or 'Delivering status', what could be the possible reasons for the same.
    Thank you in adv.

    Hello,
With regard to the message status 'Waiting to be delivered', it means that the message is successfully delivered from Integration Server but got stuck in the queue. Can you please check whether the queues are registered. Go to SMQR transaction. You will get a list of queues. The next column is 'Type' which should show 'R' (Registered). Most cases the queues would have been configured and registered. Anyway please check it. Also check tcodes SMQ1 and SMQ2 to find any queues. If you find, release them by just pointing at the queue and unlocking it.
I herewith provide a thread which explain more about this issue. Hope this should be useful:-
    To Be Delivered
if some messages are in DLNG status...then other messages which are in ToBeDelivered state are waiting for the resources to get processed...

  • FTP & Logical Filename

    Hi Experts,
We have an FTP program, that will pick up the file on application server, will remane the file & send it to the specified destination.
My query is, I need to created one more file & that needs to renamed to other name, how can I achieve this?
    Earliset reply is highly appriciated.
    Regards,

Syntax Group will tell the system that given file path is of which syntax.
E.g. You have different syntax for UNIX and WINDOWS NT.
You can find out the existing syntax groups in the same transaction.

  • Enter Requisition Form Query - Help Needed

    Hi Forum,
I have a requirement to modify the lov for the Category field in the Enter Requisition form and add a new field.
The item is in the block :LINES.ITEM_CATEGORY.
So, I ftp'd the form and libraries onto my local drive which is in the FORMS60_PATH. When I open the form, it opens without any error. But it does not attach any libraries in it ?
Anyway, I looked at the form item and its a Text Item with a Lov 'ENABLE_LIST_LAMP' and a record Group with the same name. But this is a dummy record group.
Where is the Actual Query for this Record Group built ? I assume it is in some library, but how do i find which library ?
I cannot see anything in the WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE or any other trigger having the query.
The Category is a KFF actually.
    Thanks
    S.
    Edited by: user565538 on Mar 25, 2009 6:12 AM

one more thing i notice is I can see in the KFF definition , the Value set = PO_ITEM_CATEGORY
But when I try to query for this Value set (of type independent) , in System Adminsitrator, no value set is being returned !
Am i missing something ? where are the values coming from ?

  • FTP Module of PHP not installed

So I'm trying to install Net2FTP on my server, so my friends will have an easy way to upload files without installing something on their desktop.
Basically, it's running fine and dandy apart from one promblem:
Clicking LOGIN brings the following error:
"The FTP module of PHP is not installed."
The problem is, I have the module enabled in my php.ini (About halfway down the code file, under Dynamic Extensions):
    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
; PHP's initialization file, generally called php.ini, is responsible for
; configuring many of the aspects of PHP's behavior.
; PHP attempts to find and load this configuration from a number of locations.
; The following is a summary of its search order:
; 1. SAPI module specific location.
; 2. The PHPRC environment variable. (As of PHP 5.2.0)
; 3. A number of predefined registry keys on Windows (As of PHP 5.2.0)
; 4. Current working directory (except CLI)
; 5. The web server's directory (for SAPI modules), or directory of PHP
    ; (otherwise in Windows)
; 6. The directory from the --with-config-file-path compile time option, or the
    ; Windows directory (C:\windows or C:\winnt)
; See the PHP docs for more specific information.
; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and Lines
; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably guessed).
; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
; they might mean something in the future.
; Directives following the section heading [PATH=/www/mysite] only
; apply to PHP files in the /www/mysite directory. Directives
; following the section heading [HOST=www.example.com] only apply to
; PHP files served from www.example.com. Directives set in these
; special sections cannot be overridden by user-defined INI files or
; at runtime. Currently, [PATH=] and [HOST=] sections only work under
    ; CGI/FastCGI.
; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
    ; directive = value
; Directive names are *case sensitive* - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
; Directives are variables used to configure PHP or PHP extensions.
; There is no name validation. If PHP can't find an expected
; directive because it is not set or is mistyped, a default value will be used.
    ; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or M_PI), one
; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an expression
    ; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), a quoted string ("bar"), or a reference to a
; previously set variable or directive (e.g. ${foo})
; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; ^ bitwise XOR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
; sign, or by using the None keyword:
; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
; foo = None ; sets foo to an empty string
; foo = "None" ; sets foo to the string 'None'
; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension),
; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the extension.
    ; About this file ;
; PHP comes packaged with two INI files. One that is recommended to be used
; in production environments and one that is recommended to be used in
    ; development environments.
; php.ini-production contains settings which hold security, performance and
; best practices at its core. But please be aware, these settings may break
; compatibility with older or less security conscience applications. We
; recommending using the production ini in production and testing environments.
; php.ini-development is very similar to its production variant, except it's
; much more verbose when it comes to errors. We recommending using the
; development version only in development environments as errors shown to
; application users can inadvertently leak otherwise secure information.
    ; Quick Reference ;
; The following are all the settings which are different in either the production
; or development versions of the INIs with respect to PHP's default behavior.
; Please see the actual settings later in the document for more details as to why
; we recommend these changes in PHP's behavior.

; By default, PHP is set to take action on all errors, notices and warnings EXCEPT
; those related to E_NOTICE and E_STRICT, which together cover best practices and
; recommended coding standards in PHP. For performance reasons, this is the

; Note: The php.ini-development file has this setting as E_ALL | E_STRICT. This
; means it pretty much reports everything which is exactly what you want during
    ; development and early testing.
    ; Error Level Constants:
; E_ALL - All errors and warnings (includes E_STRICT as of PHP 6.0.0)
    ; E_ERROR - fatal run-time errors
    ; E_RECOVERABLE_ERROR - almost fatal run-time errors
    ; E_WARNING - run-time warnings (non-fatal errors)
    ; E_PARSE - compile-time parse errors
; E_NOTICE - run-time notices (these are warnings which often result
; from a bug in your code, but it's possible that it was
; intentional (e.g., using an uninitialized variable and
; relying on the fact it's automatically initialized to an
    ; empty string)
; E_STRICT - run-time notices, enable to have PHP suggest changes
; to your code which will ensure the best interoperability
; and forward compatibility of your code
; E_CORE_ERROR - fatal errors that occur during PHP's initial startup
    ; E_CORE_WARNING - warnings (non-fatal errors) that occur during PHP's

from what i can gather from various sources, apache should be left alone for the most part, since tooling around with it can cause system instability (in unexperienced hands), whereas php can be upgraded without too many complications as long as one stays away, as you say, from the bleeding edge versions which may be unstable or compatible only with latest os, i.e. tiger. i am still on panther and plan to stay there for a little while longer.
are there any issues with the php 5.0.x versions and apache? does it matter that much as long as they are more or less within reasonable proximity to one another in terms of date of creation? in other words are they relatively independent and likely to work with one another?
thanks for the help and quick reply.

  • Connecting to MS Access db located on FTP server

    Hi,
I'm trying to query an ms Access database that is located on a remote FTP server, using JDBC:ODBC driver and experiencing some difficulties.
In early stages I was connecting to the db locally with connection string below:
    private String connString = "jdbc:odbc:DRIVER=Microsoft Access Driver " +             "(*.mdb);DBQ=C:/hdrive/testdb.mdb;{code} It was working fine so i assumed that connecting to the same database on a remote server would be as simple as changing the local path to the URL on server. {code}private String connString = "jdbc:odbc:DRIVER=Microsoft Access Driver " +             "(*.mdb);DBQ=ftp://user:[email protected]/testdb.mdb;
Turns out I was wrong. Following error message returned when executing:
'(unknown)' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
I would appreciate if anybody could give me few pointers or steps involved in getting my application to connect to this database.

Perhaps there is another way around this. I've done some research on the internet and I've read that you can have a script running on the webserver and send queries to it using SOAP. Has anybody had any experience in this? I'd appreciate if someone could point me where to start.Pretty sure I referenced one solution in that which was the rmi proxy driver.
And basically every web site that you visit, including this one, has implemented a web solution so obviously they exist and there are many variants.
A java one is J2EE containers of which you might look at tomcat.

  • Right way of accessing FTP server

I had an important doubt on what is the right way to access an FTP server, is it through the browser or through Windows explorer. I think, the right way is through Windows explorer.
I hope, my question is clear on what is the right way to access an FTP server.
Please revert with the reply to my query.
    Regards

through Windows explorerWhy would you think that a Linux forum is an appropriate place to ask such a question?
What happens when you try? (You didn't bother to describe that.)
Your question shows that you seem to have the expectation that you can just dump a question out to some place on the Internet and everyone will teach you everything you ever want to know, as many of your forum questions have been.
    Well, here's your answer:
Go use a FTP client program to get files from a FTP server.
If you insist on it being something graphical, go find such a program and install it.
    However ...
The simplest method if you are hoping to pull something down to a computer running Linux would be for you learn to use the command line FTP protocol in a terminal window.

  • FTP to fieldpoint works in development environment but not in deployed app?

I have developed a VI which employs FTP to upload data files created by another application
embedded on a FieldPoint, not altogether unlike the "Redundant Datalogger" example VI found
in the NI Developer Zone. Unlike that example, I am not employing DataSockets, Citadel
database functionality or any other DSC functionality which I know or suspect does not work
in a deployed application without the DSC Run-Time Engine.
This VI works fine when I run it in the LabVIEW Development System (Full + RT + DSC), but
when I deploy the VI as a standalone application FTP (at least) appears to quit working.
I don't have the specific error code -- my VI re-interprets FTP errors to a novice-
friendly "check the LAN connection and/or FieldPoint power" warning and I will have to
modify the code to extract better diagnostics. I will also not be able to probe further
until I can get back to the fieldpoint, which is happily running its little app in a little
one-room water plant in the mountains. Meanwhile, is there something more fundamental (and
obvious to the veterans) which I am overlooking?
This application employs DSC security features and I have deployed it bundled with the
    associated DSC files per the DSC manual instructions. All of that is apparently working fine;
the stand-alone just won't FTP to the fieldpoint while the development copy will.
    Bob Miller
P.S. This VI also employs TCP to continuously communicate control and status info with the
fieldpoint, but the VI gives up on the link when FTP fails and never tries to open the TCP
    path.

I will answer my own query for any casual readers. I dragged my
notebook and my carcass up into the mountains last night to attempt
to diagnose the problem. One word answer:
    Firewall.
The Symantec firewall on the PC had been configured to allow Labview
to access the network via TCP (which FTP is built on), but not an
application named "Water Plant Watchdog". Reconfiguring the firewall
(a two-minute job) fixed the problem.
NI embeds a lot of "Disable Windows firewall" messages in the LabVIEW
installer and/or documentation. This is an issue for a standalone PC
connected to a fieldpoint and a dial-up ISP. So the firewall (and the
LabVIEW application) must be managed to allow each other to do their
job. Fortunately Symantec (Norton)'s firewall seems flexible enough.
