FTP task failes
Hello,
we have SQL Server 2012. I created FTP task in SSIS.
On the connection manager when I try "Test connection" it returns "succeded".
But when I run DTS package I get an error "Error: 0xC002918F at FTP Task, FTP Task: Unable to connect to FTP server using "FTP Connection Manager"."
It seems that SSIS doesn't save the password.
Package level is: Don't Save Sensitive. The password contains "A" and "a". Could there be a problem. Then how to solve it?
Did you add password as a configurable item inside?
See this example

What is causing this FTP task to fail?
I use the same FTP task to connect to a local ftp site but when I try to hit another one, I get these errors: The obvious stuff like connection string, ip address and password are set up correctly because my test connection works fine. I haven't packaged
this until it works interactively. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Script task fails to send mail to GMAIL
Hi guys ,
I am new here and i am glad i that i am here. I am working in a company as SQL Server developer(T-sql), i am learning SSIS because i wanted to move to data warehousing.
I not familiar and i don't know any thing about C#, but i am learning SSIS on my own.
I tried to send mail to gmail using script task , both sender and receiver with same mail ID using variables which i tried using tutorial i found from the below link.
[quote]http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/85172/Send-Email-from-SSIS-with-option-to-indicate-Email[/quote]
but finally when i execute the task , it returns failure message and email is not sent.
[quote]SSIS package "Send mail using script task.dtsx" starting.
Error: 0x8 at Script Task: The script returned a failure result.
Task failed: Script Task
SSIS package "Send mail using script task.dtsx" finished: Success.

Can you all please help me in finding where i am going wrong? please check below code which i have used in script task.
Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Script Task
Write scripts using Microsoft Visual C# 2008.
The ScriptMain is the entry point class of the script.
using System;
using System.Data;
using Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime;
using System.Windows.Forms;
using System.Text.RegularExpressions;
using System.Net.Mail;
namespace ST_9bc84810a62a401aa44ddd905bcd369d.csproj
[System.AddIn.AddIn("ScriptMain", Version = "1.0", Publisher = "", Description = "")]
public partial class ScriptMain : Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.ScriptTask.VSTARTScriptObjectModelBase
#region VSTA generated code
enum ScriptResults
Success = Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DTSExecResult.Success,
Failure = Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DTSExecResult.Failure
#endregion
The execution engine calls this method when the task executes.
To access the object model, use the Dts property. Connections, variables, events,
and logging features are available as members of the Dts property as shown in the following examples.
To reference a variable, call Dts.Variables["MyCaseSensitiveVariableName"].Value;
To post a log entry, call Dts.Log("This is my log text", 999, null);
To fire an event, call Dts.Events.FireInformation(99, "test", "hit the help message", "", 0, true);
To use the connections collection use something like the following:
ConnectionManager cm = Dts.Connections.Add("OLEDB");
cm.ConnectionString = "Data Source=localhost;Initial Catalog=AdventureWorks;Provider=SQLNCLI10;Integrated Security=SSPI;Auto Translate=False;";
Before returning from this method, set the value of Dts.TaskResult to indicate success or failure.
To open Help, press F1.

Lightswitch build failing - The "LSSvcGeneratorsTask" task failed unexpectedly
hi,
I am trying to set up build pipeline for Ligtswitch 2013 project.
I have installed RIA service, silverlight SDK and Installing Prerequisites with Web Platform Installer as mentioned at

can someone let me know what else do I need to install in build machine?HI,
Welcome to Lightswitch forum.
As you mentioned above, if you want to build and deploy your lightswitch application to IIS, first you need configure a Web Server to host LightSwitch applications. At the same time there are more hints for us to configure web server, and then configure
the deployment procedure, for more resource:

DAC ETL tasks failing with Error Code
Here is a copy of just 1 of the tasks that fail. I did search for this and found reference to increasing DB Processes to 500 but that had no effect.
I have tried to reduce the number of Maximum Sessions in Setup to but it had no effect.
Some of the tasks completed. The remaining stay as Failed even after re-running ETL.

I am working on a WPF app that I want to create for Windows 8. I followed steps mentioned in
Hansleman's blog to make some manual modifications using WinRT functions in a WPF app. Everything worked well, until I tried to publish the app. When I clicked on publishing the app I got error "The 'ResolveManifestFiles' task failed unexpectedly.
System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range."
Afterwards, it will produce the same error when attempting a simple solution build.
Even if you create a simple WPF project and add the references mentioned in blog to access WinRT functions and publish, this issue can be reproduced.
I think it would be common scenario to call WinRT functions from WPF and someone should have done it. Is anyone aware what should be done to fix this issue?I am having the same problems and came across this article while researching a workaround.
It is surprising more people aren’t talking about this.
Here are the steps to reproduce the problem; Using Visual Studio Express 2012 (x64) create a new VB Windows Forms Application.
Unload the project and edit the [ProjName].vbproj in the solution explorer.
Add <TargetPlatformVersion>8.0</TargetPlatformVersion> to the <PropertyGroup>.
Save and reload the project. In Add Resource/Reference Manager add the Windows.minmd found under Windows/Core.
This WinRT/Desktop solution will run as expected. Now try to Publish this solution.
It will FAIL with the following ERROR; “The ResolveManifestFiles task failed unexpectedly, Value does not fall within the expected range.”
Attempting to build or run the solution again now will fail with the same Error.
The only way to build the project now is to remove the “Enable ClickOnce security settings” option under the project properties Security settings.
Occasionally using this trick, the solution will build but not run.
When that happens jiggle around with Debug/Release Solution Configurations and the Any CPU/x64 Solution Platforms then rebuild and try the run again.
This fussing around will get you through development however any attempt to publish with restore the ClickOnce security setting and create the previous Error.
The first question here is how do you publish a WinRT app for the desktop with VS2012 Express.
Then secondly, if that is not possible can we publish this Express solution with a 3rd party deployment tool like InstallShield Limited Edition or the WIX Toolset.
Neither however seems functional in a VS Express environment.
Then thirdly, are there ways to access hardware sensor devices from a desktop solution without resorting to the WinRT API.
Any ideas or new research directions would be greatly appreciated. -
GPP Scheduled Task Fails in Group Policy Modeling depending on DC
We have multiple domain controllers running at a 2003 functional level.
We have 1 DC running Server 2003 x86 SP2 and the rest run Server 2008 (maybe R2)
I created a GPO that includes a Scheduled Task Group Policy Preference under Computer Configuration.
In order to test this I used Group Policy Modeling in the GPMC on a 2008 R2 Machine where I am editing Group Policy.
If I run the modeling (perform the simulation on the 2003 DC it fails. (Note I am modeling the GPO for a different computer, not the 2003 SP2 DC, I am running the modeling for a Workstation)
Information from the Component Status on the Summary Tab of the Modeling Report
Component Name Status
Group Policy Infrastructure Success
EFS recovery Success (no data)
Group Policy Scheduled Tasks Failed
Group Policy Scheduled Tasks failed due to the error listed below and failed to log resultant set of policy information.
Additional information may have been logged. Review the application event log on the domain controller on which the simulation was run for events between 2/28/2014 10:07:36 AM and 2/28/2014 10:07:36 AM.
Registry Success
Security Success
Info on the Settings Tab of the Modeling Report below.
An error has occurred while collecting data for Scheduled Tasks.
The following errors were encountered:
An unknown error occurred while data was gathered for this extension. Details: Invalid class
If I run the modeling using a 2008 DC to perform the simulation it works fine.
Per the instructions on the Summary Tab regarding the scheduled task failure I look at the event log on the 2003 domain controller and this is what i find.
The event I get on the 2003 DC is 8196 and I will place the details below.

The client-side extension caught the unhandled exception '0xC0000005' inside: 'threadEntry : client main' See trace file for more details. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
So, should I be concerned that this is failing on the 2003 DC, does this mean that if my workstations authenticate to my 2003 DC that the preference will not process?
I was reading that in 2003 client side extensions were not there and can be installed, would this make the modeling succeed?
How do I get verified, I tried to post screenshots, but I could not. :(Hi Jonathan,
As you have found the reason, I want to confirm whether the issue has been fixed.
In fact, for Windows Server 2003 to apply or process Group Policy Preferences settings, we must install client-side extensions of GPP for Windows Server 2003.
Although this is not related to this case, for your information, if our clients are Windows XP or Windows Vista, to use GPP, we must install client-side extensions for these
workstations respectively.
Regarding GPP, the following article can be referred to for more information.

I'm working on our CI process for auto-publishing WebJobs along with a host WebSite for said jobs. This isn't working, but that's not the point at the moment.
The site in question is called devpandajobhost.azurewebsites.net and I have created (and deleted
and recreated) and published to this site successfully many times, from both msbuild and VS.
However, earlier today, my publish commands have started failing with
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\Web\Microsoft.Web.Publishing.targets(4253, 5): error ERROR_DESTINATION_INVALID: Web deployment task failed. It looks like the scm site for my site doesn't exist. I have tried deleting and recreating my site several times, through various different mechanisms (VS new project, portal, powershell). The site can be created but when I publish to it I get the error
above.
What is going on?
PS my theory is that I deleted and recreated it and the Azure internal DNS server has got in a pickleit is not only internal Azure DNS but your DNS provider as well. Since DNS records are propagated and cached (and negative cached as well) you need to wait for some time for negative cache to expire.
I see no good reason to go through the cycle of creating new site every time unless this is your scenario. If so you can delete the old one and create always sites with new name.

WSUS reinstall on 2012 SCCM server post-installation task fails to run/finish
I had to re-install WSUS on a 2012 R2 SCCM server (Windows 2012), and am running into several issues re-installing. It may help to point out that the SCCM SQL server is remote, so this isn't a WSUS / SQL 2012 issue.
The sticky post at the top of the WSUS forum has helpful troubleshooting information, and I have tried going through this as well as many other threads on this very topic of re-installing WSUS.
1. Roles for WSUS and WID were removed successfully. The WSUS Website was manually deleted from IIS. As this is a SCCM server, removing the IIS role is not an option.
2. I removed the existing WID database files for SUSDB
3. After rebooting, I verified registry keys were gone, system files were cleaned up, and deleted the program files\update services directory
4. This isn't a permission issue, as I have clearly installed this before on this server.
5. Registry keys, system files, and susdb files no longer exist, and the server has rebooted cleanly.
6. I am able to add the WSUS role selecting WID, and this installs WID without any errors. At this point, simply clicking the post installation task fails, generates an empty .tmp file in my %appdata%\temp folder, and exits the MMC.
7. This file is blank. Absolutely empty, so I couldn't really troubleshoot any post installation tasks.
8. Further investigation shows that the 'C:\Program Files\Update Services\Tools\' directory is gone, and isn't being
generated.
9. Ok... DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /Scanhealth didn't return any issues, so I copied the wsusutil out of the windows\WinSxS directory.
10. Yey! wsusutil postinstall runs, but bombs out on the IIS portion. It generated the DB without an issue, but results
in an IIS generation error. So, I installed WSUS on a clean 2012 install, then copied over the program files\updateServices directory to reclaim the missing files.
The log files show --

... ok - tripple checked that network service has permissions to .net and windows\temp folders.
netstat -a doesn't show anything running on port 8530 ( in case this was some weird port check in use)
Which goes back to the missing directory problem -- further net searches show that this is a reoccurring issue for some OOBE... sfc /verifyonly shows ... nothing.
What is left to be done at this point? The missing folders from the program directory seems to be a problem for some with some users right out of the box. I have read many other threads where users just formatted and started over. Not exactly a solution
- any help out there on this issue? Any suggestions to determine what file is missing, or generating the IIS issues?Part of the post install tasks wanted to download some items including the tools folder.
Can you expand on this please. The WSUS post-install tasks do not download anything, except what is acquired during the initial synchronization with Microsoft.
Because of my group policy the WSUS server was trying to download the updates from itself even though it was not setup yet.
What update(s) was the WSUS server trying to "download"?
In fact, if the WSUS Server was not setup yet (but you already had a GPO in place), then the first issue here was performing deployment steps out of order.
But still.... except for the actual installation binaries for the WSUS Server Role on a WS2008SP2/WS2008R2 system, there's nothing the WSUS server needs to get from either Windows Update or a WSUS server. This scenario is actually discussed hundreds of times
in this forum, but complicating matters, this thread isn't about installing WSUS V3.2 on a WS2008SP2/WS2008R2 system, it's about installing WSUS v65 on a WS2012 system, so I'm a bit confused as to what the actual installation environment is that we're discussing.
I changed the WSUS server to get it's windows updates from Microsoft and then the post install task succeeded.
I'd really like to get some more details about what exactly in the "post-install task" was dependent upon content from WU/WSUS.

Hi there,
I have this issue with my Execute SQL Task Failing. I am trying to execute a sp using an execute sql task. The execute statement is contained in a variable (exec [sp_name] par1, par2) that I have declared at the package level. Now inside the exec sql
tak, I am calling this variable. Now when I try to execute this task, it fails and I get the following:
[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "EXEC CTL_ISRT_A 55,1" failed with the following error: "Could not find stored procedure 'CTL_ISRT_A'.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not
set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
There is a stored procedure called "CTL_ISRT_A" in the db and I am able to execute it from SQL Server. This sp is inserting a new row in the table and it returns @@IDENTITY.
I tried setting the result set to a 'Single Row' and tried assigning the value to a variable but it didnt help. Could someone help me here?
Thanks in advancereturn it as an output parameter
ie make sp like below
ALTER PROCEDURE [devdba].[M_CTL_ISRT]
@F_ID INT
, @PR_IND BIT
, @Debug bit = 0
, @IDVal int = 0 OUTPUT
AS
BEGIN
SET NOCOUNT ON
DECLARE @ErrorMsg varchar(5000)
DECLARE @USR_ID AS INT = 1;
INSERT INTO TBL_D (F_ID, PR_IND, USR_ID,CRE_DT, LAST_MODD_USR_ID, LAST_MODD_DT)
VALUES (@F_ID, @PR_IND, @USR_ID, GETDATE(), @USR_ID, GETDATE())
SELECT @IDVal= @@IDENTITY
END
Then in execute sql task call it as
EXEC devdba].[M_CTL_ISRT] ?,?,0,? OUT
then in parameter tab pass required variables and for last parameter make direction as Output and you'll get identify value stored in it.
Please Mark This As Answer if it helps to solve the issue Visakh ---------------------------- http://visakhm.blogspot.com/ https://www.facebook.com/VmBlogs -
SSIS custom execute sql task : Failed with error
I am developing a custom SSIS task for running sql task. But it fails with error - I'm trying to set the resultsetbinding to be used by next task in workflow.

Task failed: CustomSSISTask
Here is the code sample I'm trying ,
public override DTSExecResult Execute(Connections connections, VariableDispenser variableDispenser,
IDTSComponentEvents componentEvents, IDTSLogging log, object transaction)
MessageBox.Show("testing:");
try
// Add the SQL Task
Package package = new Package();
package.Executables.Add("STOCK:SQLTask");
Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Variable variable = package.Variables.Add("id", false, "User", 0);
// Get the task host wrapper
TaskHost taskHost = package.Executables[0] as TaskHost;
// Get the task object
ExecuteSQLTask task = taskHost.InnerObject as ExecuteSQLTask;
// Set core properties
task.Connection = connections[0].Name;
task.SqlStatementSource = "SELECT id FROM sysobjects WHERE name = 'sysrowsets'";
//task.SqlStatementSource =
// "SELECT PersonID from [AmalgaSpeedTableData].[SpeedTable].[DimPerson] where PersonIntID = '1'";
task.SqlStatementSourceType = SqlStatementSourceType.DirectInput;
// Add result set binding, map the id column to variable
IDTSResultBinding resultBinding = task.ResultSetBindings.Add();
//IDTSResultBinding resultBinding = task.ResultSetBindings.GetBinding(0);
resultBinding.ResultName = "variable";
resultBinding.DtsVariableName = variable.QualifiedName; //"User::id";
task.Execute(connections, variableDispenser, componentEvents, log, transaction);
catch (Exception ex)
throw new ArgumentException(ex.Message);
return DTSExecResult.Success;
It doesnt throw any exception but custom task fails.
Later I will be also using parametersetbindings to pass some input parameters to this task , since I'm stuck for out param - blocked moving ahead.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hey peeps,
Im trying to publish a web gallery to be hosted on BC. Despite having what seem the correct settings im getting an error: FTP transfer failed ' unknown message'. Have checked with techs on BC. They say FTP working fine that end.
Any suggestions?Have you tried connecting to another FTP server in Lightroom?
For example, if you get a free Flickr account, can you login to it and upload a file to it?
If you can't upload to any server, then you have a general FTP-in-Lr problem, but if problem is only with BC then, well, it's time to start scrutinizing the BC settings..
PS - All my FTP'ing plugins have an enhanced FTP settings test feature designed to help you debug FTP settings, so another option is to download one of them, for example:
robcole.com - FTPAggregator
and experiment with settings tester:
To get here, you have to click 'View / Edit Additional Settings' (in plugin manager), then choose 'New' or 'Edit' from 'Sync Pairs' drop-down menu.
If test is unsuccessful, enable verbose logging (top section of plugin manager), and review the log file after test, or send to me.
If you have a problem running plugin, please contact me directly:

Downloads 1 csv file to local directory on SQL Server box
This always works when run from the package. And always gives a timeout error when scheduled.

Any suggestions? Thank youYou're right, Arthur. Earlier when I tried running the package with dtexecui it did popup a Win7 firewall warning. Agreed with prompt to allow "SQL Server 2008 Integration Services Package Execution Utility" and it added C:\program
files (x86)\microsoft sql server\110\tools\binn\managementstudio\dtexecui.exe, to allowed programs. No problem with dtexec after that.
Do you know of any other firewall exceptions that would be good to try? Thanks!
Yeah, this pop up resulted in the timeout because it was hidden but awaiting acknowledgement.
The other thing off the top of my head would be the FTP port 21 if TCP is used.

Thanks
