FTP to database not working Oracle 9.2

Going through the steps of setting up the basic XDB demo. I have setup the listener correctly with the FTP and HTTP presentation and ports.
When I use FTP in DOS to try and connect to XDB it immediately opens and then closes communication port. There is nothing in the Oracle alert log or trace file to point to any issues. Any suggestions?

Sounds like some listener configuration problem. Check for the DISPATCHERS line in init.ora. Play around with lsnrctl to see what's going on.

    Database not working
I had already moved it to the Database forum.
Then after the comments in this thread, they've re-posted it yet again into the Database forum.

  • SAP FTP Binary Does not work after EHP 7 Upgrade

    Hi All,
Since EHP 7, if I try to execute an external command through sm49, which has a shell script for ftp connection and fetching files, the 'binary' command after ftp connection is not working.
Result? I'm fetching corrupted files once in a while. The same was fine before the upgrade. The script runs fine at OS level. We are using AIX.
Did anyone see this issue before? Is there a solution?
    Please help, it's quite urgent.
    Thank you.
    Uday

    Hi Uday,
Since EHP 7, if I try to execute an external command through sm49, which has a shell script for ftp connection and fetching files, the 'binary' command after ftp connection is not working.
    1) What is the exact error message you get ?
    2) Did you check permission to the script . Ensure sidadm has full access to execute it.
    3) Did you check Test Connection to TCP/IP RFC destinations SAPFTP and SAPFTPA are working fine in SM59 ?

  • 5.0 database not working in lookout 6.6

5.0 database not working in lookout 6.0.  I converted the database using the lks file and then saved it.  that all worked fine but my modbus stats are in 100% error connected with direct serial!  any known fixes?  help please!

Is this MODBUS or the database?
To use the 5.0 Databaes you need to use the NI MAX utility to convert a citadel 4 to Citadel 5 database.

  • Connection pooling does not work Oracle Objects! Oracle please respond!

The problem is that when we retrieve Oracle Objects using pooled connection (closing logical connection at the end of every call)it takes 6-8 times longer than in case we share the same physical connection for all database calls. Parts of our application which do not utilize Oracle Objects (just old good relational data) works just fine with pooled connections - no performance degradation
This is my reconstruction of f the what is happening behind the seen, so some parts can be not entirely correct.
OracleConnection class caches StructDescriptor objects in descriptorCache hash table. StructDescriptor objects map content of oracle STRUCTs which are retrieved through the connection onto oracle type names. For example if you retrieve an instance of HR.EMPLOYEE_T oracle object from database some metadata will be retrieved and stored as an entry in descriptorCache cache table associated with "HR.EMPLOYEE_T" key to assist CustomDatum interface. It is a time consuming process and caching of this metadata improves it dramatically.
Now when using pooled connection descriptorCache gets cleared when you close your logical connection (java.sql.Connection) so next time you get a connection from your pooled connection it will have to repopulate the cache which as I said is very time consuming. As a result even though we can reuse our physical connection by using pooled connection whole setup does not work - fetching metadata takes a long time and we cant use Oracle objects in EJB environment (or Servlet environment)

  • Standby Database not working

Hi I have created one standby DB for Oracle 10.1.0.2.0 on same server for the primary Db.As per Oracle docs I have configured everything but when I do logswitch on primary DB and then check the standby DB as...
    SELECT SEQUENCE#, FIRST_TIME, NEXT_TIME
    FROM V$ARCHIVED_LOG ORDER BY SEQUENCE#;
it shows no records, that means it is not working.
I have created standby redolog file in the primary DB , as I am using LGWR ASYN mode of redo transform but when I do..
    SQL> SELECT GROUP#,THREAD#,SEQUENCE#,ARCHIVED,STATUS FROM V$STANDBY_LOG;
    GROUP# THREAD# SEQUENCE# ARC STATUS
    4 2 0 YES UNASSIGNED
    it show the status unaccessed.
please help me to sort out this problem....

Thanks to all. Yes I checked the alert logs for both DB, there was some problems due to DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT ini parameter setting. after I fixed that, I am getting this error in lgwr.trc file

  • BPEL Process with multiple file types using one FTP adapter is not working

i created a bpel process which will fetch the files from remote location using FTP adapter.
Now the process works for only one format or file type like *.xls.
How can i use more than one file format in one FTP adapter.
    OR
is there any other way to do it.
file type assignation is 5th step in FTP adapter configuration.
i have tried *.xls,*.csv and *.xls;*.csv and *.xls:*.csv by seperating with comman, colon, space... still not working.
i read the documentation *.* will not work.. for one file format it's working fine.
looking forward for reply as soon as possible.

Are you positive that it is not working? I'm not sure how you can use one FTP adapter for multiple file types unless the underlying data is exactly the same format or you are processing it as opaque data. Sometimes when a FTP adapter chokes on a file with a bad structure it doesn't create a BPEL instance, it simply moves the bad file to a separate folder.
So I assume you are using opaque as the data type instead of using an XSD element?
That said, I don't think you can put two separate file types in the filter. Is it possible for you to do something like: CommonFileName*.* or do you have similar files with other extensions?
I know the above probably isn't of much help, but I had so many problems with the FTP adapter and its lack of features that I am writing my own. Unfortunately that is a large undertaking and there isn't any good documentation of JCA resource adapter / BPEL PM integration.

  • SAP PI FTP sender adapter not working with SAP ECC over Itanium

    Hi,
We have been running normally SAP PI 7.0 SP14 with no issue for a while.
We are now in the process of migrate the SAP ECC system from PA risc to IA platform. We are performing some tests between SAP PI and SAP ECC to check that the platform migration is not affecting us in any way and we have found that FTP adapter sender is not working anymore (receiver is working as usual).
We place some files in the new ECC system and when PI goes to retreive the files it is like it can not read anything. It gives no error but it does not pick any file. This is not happening with the old platform.
    Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks a lot for your help
    Diana

    Hi,
I am using FTP connection and for the receiver it is working fine.
    Thanks

  • DB13 Check database not working

    Hi All,
Check DB and update stats from DB13 does not work. It comes back with the following error
Can't exec external program (No such file or directory)
Checked from OS level and found that brconnect -u / -c -f check works only from exe directory. If i execute the
command from any other directory it comes back with an error saying command not found
Upon further investigation found that this is an issue with env variable PATH
The current value of PATH in env variable of sidadm is
    PATH=/oracle/SID/102_64/bin:/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/bin:.:/export/home/sidadm:/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS01/exe:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin
I want to change the value from usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS01/exe to /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run
I checked all the csh and .sh profiles for sidadm user but i did not find any PATH variable,
I can see DIR_LIBRARY and LD_LIBRARY_PATH but i cant see PATH variable
Checked  the shell and it is /bin/csh
checked .bash_profile and all i can see is this
    .bash_profile
    Get the aliases and functions
    if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then
            . ~/.bashrc
    fi
User specific environment and startup programs
    PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin
    export PATH
    unset USERNAME
Has any one faced this issue earlier??
Meanwhile i have found a temporary fix for timebeing i.e i copied all  the br* executables from /sapmnt/SID/exe to
/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS01/exe and after doing that DB13 - DBcheck and Update optimizer works fine.
    Regards,
    Ershad Ahmed

    Hi Sunil and Eric
    Thanks for the reply
I checked all the profiles but no luck. I cant find the parameter.
As i mentioned in my earlier post i have found a temporary fix by copying the br executables from /sapmnt/SID/exe to
/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS01/exe and ran saproot.sh and that resolved the issue.
If i can change my PATH variable to point to /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run that would be a permanent fix
    Regards,
    Ershad Ahmed

  • Java FTP client do not work in Solaris 10

We just upgrade our Solaris 8.0 system to Solaris10. A java FTP client don't work anymore when I try to download a remote file. It worked nicely in Solaris8. Specifically, this java program is using JDK FtpClient, the command that downloading a file is something like this:
    TelnetInputStream in = ftpClient.get(remotefilename);
However, I still can send a file to a remote machine. Anyone knows this?
    Thnak you very much!

    Hello Community,
the problem is solved. The VM on the workstation is very slow. The Java EE server use more than one hour to start. No problem with the hardware key or anything else, only a problem of my patience. It seems that the configuration file of the VM stores special entrys of the basic physical machine to run optimal. And which is optimal for the notebook is not optimal for the workstation.
    Cheers

  • Providing administrator(s) full mailbox access to all mailboxes (database) not working

I'm setting up a new Exchange 2013 org.  Everything is pretty fresh, only a few mailboxes have been added for testing.
I've added this permission, to provide full access to all the mailboxes in the database:
Get-MailboxDatabase -identity “Mailbox Database” | Add-ADPermission -user netadmin -AccessRights GenericAll -ExtendedRights Receive-As, Send-As
I've verified the permission in ADSI Edit.
I have verified the permission in the recipient's mailbox delegation properties.
However, while logged into OWA using the admin account, if I try to open another user's mailbox from OWA, I just get a sad face that says "Something went wrong :( " .
Any ideas? I've tried resetting the owa virtual directory...reset IIS, rebooted several times, no luck.
    Thanks

    Hi
Is that ok when you set to single mailbox?
    If ok, please try
Get-Mailbox -database “Mailbox Database” | Add-ADPermission -user netadmin -AccessRights GenericAll -ExtendedRights Receive-As, Send-As

Please see the original post, I've already tried "Get-MailboxDatabase -identity “Mailbox Database” | Add-ADPermission
-user netadmin -AccessRights GenericAll -ExtendedRights Receive-As, Send-As"
If I add the permission individually through ECP, it works just fine.  What I'm trying to accomplish is full mailbox access to all mailboxes in the database now and in the future
(something that works just fine in Exchange 2010,) however in  2013 it is not working.  I tried doing it via a security group instead, same result.

  • Multiple Image Upload with save to database not working in IE anymore

Since updating IE to SP3 ADDT Multiple Image Upload with save to database does not work anymore in IE. It will show a regular file upload field, an does not allow selection of multiple files. It does work in Firefox, but not all my clients use firefox.
    PSE Advice.

I would consider buying some pluggins from dmxzone.com. They
    may cost a
bit upfront but in the long run, you've probably be saving a
    lot of
    headaches.
    http://www.dmxzone.com/
If time's an issue, with these plugins, you could probably
    be up and
running in a half hour. George has some really nice pluggins
    for
Dreamweaver and well worth the money.
