FTP Upload stopped working

Hello,
since the update in October 2014 I'm not able to use the ftp upload tool in muse.
I didn't change anything and it worked fine before the update.
I have the newest version of muse (2014.2.1.10) and tried all the trouble shooting from other posts (no ftp. in front of the server name, no / in front of the folder) but I always get an error message that the folder doesn't exist.
When I ignore the message it creates a new folder in my webspace on top of my homepage (the path is webspace > subdomain > folder).
I use filezilla for a while now, but I would love to be able to use in browser editing.

Hi Lydia, I had the same problem, I have uninstall and install Muse and now it works - but when uploading (several websites), there is FTP validation message I have never seen before - it's saying:Folder does not appear to point to site "www....." You can chose ignore or fix.
IGNORE - than it works
FIX - you should change FTP setting - but I don't know how - it seems OK
It is not repaired absolutely but it works:)

SOA FTP Adapter stops working abruptly

Hi All,
I have a ftp service which provides XML file streams real-time on a remote machine. I connect to this FTP server using the SOA FTP adapter and process files by polling based on timestamp every 3 seconds.
The issues I face are
1) The ftp adapter stop working abruptly. Has anybody faced this issue, if yes how can this be resolved?
2) The XML files comes to FTP location at the rate 2 files per second. Ideally I want to procss this files real-time using FTP adapter. But the backlog build is causing issues. How do I fix it?
3) If there is any downtime in production how should the SOA FTP application be activated after restart.
Also, what are the other FTP adapter configuration required to optimize the SOA FTP application to meet my business purpose.

FTP suddenly stopped working

Today, all my FTP connections have suddenly stopped working. I thought it was a problem with FileZilla, but have since tried 4 or 5 different FTP clients and none of them will connect to anything. Sometimes the connection just times out, and other times it goes through all the authentication and login seemingly successfully before the message appears: 'Critical error: Could not connect to server'
I'm using a 2011 MacBook Pro, upgraded to Yosemite about a month ago (and have been using FileZilla on a daily basis since), but otherwise I can think of no hardware or software updates that have been made.
I've tried restarting my router and my computer. I've also checked the Mac firewall, which was already switched off. After googling the issue, I read that turning off 'passive mode' might fix it, but it doesn't.
I haven't a clue how to go about fixing this problem!
Any ideas?

Ask in the DW forum and be much more specific about the requirements for your FTP connection like its ports, TLS settings and so on.

Photostream automatic upload stopped working

I have an iPhone 6 and Windows 8. I'm assuming this is a glitch with Windows 8, as I was able to automatically upload pictures to my old laptop (not Windows 8). Anyway.... the automatic upload/photostream stopped working mid-December. It is turned on to automatically upload! But now I have to go in and import pictures if I want them saved to my laptop. Any ideas on what's causing this or how to fix it? Thanks!

DreamWeaver CS3 FTP suddenly stops working

About a week ago DreamWeaver's FTP stopped working, for any
of the 25 plus sites I have set up in it. I control the server I am
trying to FTP to, so I know none of the passwords or anything else
has changed. All of the sites have the same error when trying to
connect, which is:
"An FTP error occurred - cannot open remote folder
/public_html/. Access denied. The file may not exist, or there
could be a permission problem."
Well the folder does exist, as nothing has changed. I am able
to FTP fine with other FTP apps including CuteFTP, so I know this
is a DreamWeaver specific problem. I tried reinstalling / repairing
DreamWeaver from disc to no avail.

I'd like to chime in too if I may. Dreamweaver is a very
reliable software client but can anyone really backtrack to the
point where ftp puts GUI to shame? Forgive me but I'm stuck using
Dreamweaver as my sole island of hope for all client/ server
transactions.. I'm not even interested in using one of those 'mini'
clients who's functionality do make your head spin! I'm somewhat of
a freestyle learner so maybe that explains why I've never seen the
host-server designated "public" folder renamed as "public_html"???
I don't even think my webhost would let me rename that folder as
such, I hope that helps!

Upload to ftp host stopped working since last Muse update

Since the last update of Muse (CC 2014.3) I'm unable to configure the ftp access in 'upload to ftp host'. It gives me an error notification (as if the user or password are incorrect) and therefore doesn't connect. The server client to which I'm trying to connect immediately blocks my ip address (they say it's because their firewall detects that my ip address is trying to connect to their server using a TCP forbidden door (990). Can someone please help me with this? I've already tried configuring the same ftp connection in dreamweaver, using exactly the same host, user and password and it works fine. Can someone please help me understand what's happening?

I'm from Portugal, the hosting provider is Hocnet (www.hocnet.pt). Do you need to know my ftp connection user and password for testing?
I contacted Hocnet earlier today because when I attempted to do the configuration of the 'connect to ftp host' in Muse, suddenly all that is dependent of their server (the access to my website www.luiscovas.com, the e-mails associated with my luiscovas.com account and the ftp accesses) became unavailable, and my browser displayed the message I attach in this message (it says 'Conection blocked for security reasons'). After an hour, my ip was finally unblocked, but until then I couldn't receive or send emails, and I couldn't access my site and the hosting provider through ftp. They told me that their firewall detected that my ip was trying to connect to their server using a TCP forbidden door (990), and so it automatically blocked it.
Please let me know if you need more information to run the tests.

FTP Uploading not working out of nowhere?

Hello to All,
I use Yummy FTP for my FTP needs, and have been very happy with it for some time now. I develop websites and then use my Yummy to FTP the site files up to its respective server. However out of NOWHERE, im getting an "Access Denied" error. And this error isnt coming from the host, as i can log into any of my clients different hosts and download, or manipulate things on the hosts end, but if I try to UPLOAD any kind of file (its not a folder permissions deal, i checked and moved these to different directories and everything) i get "Access Denied" from my iMac. This has never happened befpre, and I cant think of anything that would have changed, set aside an update from Apple. Firewall is off, no other strange security features are on that I can see, please help, this is hurting my soul at this point lol.

I hope you don't mind but I'd like to keep this discussion here in case any future Mac users have a similar issue they can see your consultation with me here on this post.
While I may have phrased my issue a little awkwardly, and my love for Yummy (yes I'm a big fan) is great, I didn't mean to insinuate that the problem was on the Yummy side, hence why I posted here and didn't contact you directly.
My problem was I'd get an Access Denied message, only upon upload, on MULTIPLE hosts, different servers. I'd attempt to FTP and upload to about 5 different servers and would get the same denied message. There was a really bad storm here which knocked out the power, and it appeared to me that maybe some setting on my Mac was changed upon an update that ran as I restarted.
Then out of nowhere, everything worked fine. I have no closure as to what was causing this, but it couldn't be on five different servers, I am starting to wonder if it could have been a problem with my ISP, as I use a cable modem and the cable was out after the storm, and was on downstream only for a bit. But everything was else was fine at the time of the problem.
I stuck with Yummy, and didn't panic and download cyber duck or FileZilla, as I was absolutely certain the problem didn't rest with Yummy.
so I want to clarify to the public that when I stated "a connectivity problem with Yummy". I meant that it was either my host or my own ISP and unfortunately Yummy was in the middle.

FTP upload not working

I've been trying to upload my site from inside Muse using the built in FTP exporting to an external hosting provider (which I've been using for years with different web design software with no upload issues).
When I upload from Muse it gets part-way through and then just stops dead, always when on an image. The HTML exports fine. It stops on a different image each time, there's no pattern to it.
I've read back through the forums and seen people having similar issues but over a year ago, I couldn't find anything recent.
Any help would be appreciated.

Could you please try a File > Publish to try publishing a trial site to Business Catalyst and see if that is a success?
Also, I would suggest removing all the existing website files from the FTP server and Upload to FTP host from Muse afresh with "All Files" selected for the Upload dropdown in the Upload to FTP host dialog box.
In case both the above return same issues with the images while uploading, please send your .muse file to [email protected] with a link to this forum thread for reference. Please use an online file sharing service like WeTransfer or YouSendIt in case your file is larger than 20MB and not fit for email.

Perl cgi upload stopped working with Flash 10

First let me just say that PHP is not an option in my environment. Its just not allowed to be used.
I have some really basic Perl upload scripts that work find with flash 9 and below. However since flash 10 these no longer work. I tried using FileRefernce and while I can get all my values as defined by the
$QUERY_VALS_GV->param statement in Perl, I can not get the file handle $QUERY_VALS_GV->upload("fileName"); Any Ideas ?

The resolution was easy. Use the default value for Filedata passed from filereference

Ftp uploading not working...

I've been trying to get my website online fore a few hours now, and it just won't seem to work... I've got the hosting plan from 123-reg and I've followed all the stuff it says but it just won't work. Says it can't connect. Any help please?

FTP stopped working, no error message

I've been using Dreamweaver MX 2004 and have uploaded files
from it using FTP for a long time. All of a sudden it stopped
working; another program (NewzAlert Composer) also stopped working,
but my WS_FTP LE works fine. What happens is that Dreamweaver
thinks it's connecting fine and the new file appears in the Remote
Site file list, but it's not there if I check in my browser, in
WS_FTP or using my web host's File Manager. This problem has
happened consistently for the past 3-4 weeks.
I've gone through the TechNote Troubleshooting FTP Issues
without success.
- I tried ftp.irs.gov and it connects successfully, but that
doesn't mean anything, because it's connecting "successfully" with
my site, too
- I checked Windows XP Firewall and it lists Dreamweaver as
an exception, so that shouldn't be the problem (and anyway, I
haven't changed any of those setttings)
- Passive FTP didn't help
- I tried creating a new site and got the same problem.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I am also having a problem, but mine is worse...I can't even get mail to open. The Mail window opens, but then I get the spinning wheel and nothing else. Is there a way to reload mail and not the entire Tiger OS? I can check my email accounts online, but I prefer to use Mac mail.

Why doesn't the FTP upload work?

The FTP upload is not working on Muse... This problem started since the last software update, it stops the upload somewhere and doesn't continue...

Photo Stream PC-error message "applephotostreams.exe has stopped working" and now additional photos that I want to upload is not uploading.

I sync my devices with a PC running windows. I have turned on Photo Stream on my PC, iPhone4S & iPad2.
On my PC it creates two default folders in Pictures called "My Photo Stream" and "Upload".
Instructions says that you can add photos to the "Upload" folder and it will automatically upload to your "My Photo Stream" folder and when your devices are connected to wi-fi they will upload to each device and show up in the "Photo Stream" section of Photos.
I was able to upload 50 photos but then I got an error message that applephotostreams.exe has stopped working.
How do I fix?

I was having the same problem. Earlier in the week, I was able to drag a few photos to the upload folder and they synced correctly. Yesteday, I dragged different photos, and I got the "applephotostream.exe has stopped working" error.
The solution - for me, at least! - was to reduce the size of the pictures being uploaded to the photostream. While all of the pictures were jpegs, the first set were ca. 800K (3800 x 2500), and the second set were ca. 2.5 MB (4000 x 2000). When I reduced the resolution of the last set by a factor of 4 (ca. 600 K, 2000 x 1500), they uploaded without a hitch.
Based on this admittedly sketchy experiment, it looks like Apple has a max picture size limit, apparently based on file size rather than picture resolution). Perhaps < 1 MB? To be rigorous, I should complete the experiment - leave the resolution of the second set of pictures alone and reduce file size by reducing jpeg quality.
Has anyone heard about a picture file size limit?

Once latest Firefox 24 version uploaded, some sites visited get pop up that Adobe Flash Player 11.8 r800 has stopped working. Have tried following and none work:
- reinstalled latest Shockwave Flash software, uninstalled and reinstalled with clean wipes
- downgraded Flash to previous version
- disabled hardware acceleration
Only when I disable Javascript in Firefox will the error stop but then no Flash application will work.
This is clearly a Firefox issue with the latest version. The previous version was using the latest Flash and there was no issue.
Below you will see I am using older version of Flash as I was testing previous, but same issue when I go the latest verison.
Please fix in an update.

I uploaded the newest version and itunes stopped working!

I uploaded the newest version and itunes stopped working! This on my windows computer at home, can anyone help? Sorry, by not working I mean I click on the icon and itunes starts up - shows me the library screen with all my music on it, says accessing account and then pops up a message saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close. When I say ok, it closes and goes away!

Just fixed this issue for iTunes for Windows with minimal damage, try:
1. Browse to "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming" in Windows Explorer.
2. Rename the "Apple Computer" folder to "Apple Computer-old".
3. Start iTunes
4. Close iTunes
5. Copy the file "iTunesPrefs.xml" from "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer-old\iTunes"
6. Paste the old "iTunesPrefs.xml" into the new "Apple Computer\iTunes" folder iTunes just created (not the one you renamed) under "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer-old\iTunes"
7. Overwrite the new iTunesPrefs.xml with your old copy of the file.
If you don't care about losing your iTunes preferences then you can just do step 2. You can always go back and grab things from the old folder later if you realize you wanted to have your EQ settings, individual track gains, etc...
