Ftp uploader for lightroom 3 (mac)???

Does ANYBODY know why there is no SDK package downloader for Mac? How do I get an ftp uploader in Lightroom 3? I know it can be done!

Ftp upload via Lightroom mobile with metadata?

I've been asked to do a job where I take photos on my mobile and upload directly to an ftp with metadata. Is that something I can do with Lightroom mobile? Or would I have to revert to my laptop after the shoot and do it that way?

OK, let's assume you have the Dropbox app installed on your mobile device. Then in LrMobile , you go to the image and tap the Share icon. The second item is Open In, and you should see Dropbox listed. Choose it and Dropbox's app then gives you a Save button which uploads the adjusted picture.
I've not checked if this includes metadata, and it seems to be one image at a time. I only used it for getting adjusted screenshots from my iPad to someone, so whether it works for you is something you will have to assess, and maybe something else will be more suitable. My guess is that if you load an iOS FTP app (lots of them around) you would go through a similar workflow, Share button and then Share or Open In.

WVC80N & Image FTP Upload for Website Usage

I have previously used a DLink Wireless IP Camera (Im sorry I used the D word here) to periodically take a snapshot and FTP the image to my web server. Seems that DLink in their "wisdom" decided to change the way the image snapshot is named and append the date/time to the file name, THUS making my use obsolete (I need the EXACT name for the image to appear on the website).
My question is ...does the WVC80N allow me to configure the camera this way?
Take a periodic snapshot and FTP the image to a web server - WHILE allowing me to either name the image or use the default name...WITHOUT the name changing (using date/time)?

Well you can take the periodic snapshots and FTP the image to the web server without changing the date/time. But the camera will provide the name from it's own side. If you want to change the name, you have to change it manually by entering into the web server.

Charter FTP Upload

So, after talking with charter (who basically told me to get bent, talk to apple...), i'm of the persuasion that there seems to be a problem with Charter's Personal Web Space FTP Upload system, and Mac OS X. Here's the 411:
I go to ftp://webpages.charter.net, Mac OS X takes over and initializes an FTP connection with Charter. I type my user name and password in, and i get this great window that shows me my webspace (which is clear because i haven't uploaded anything yet). delighted that it works and it will be so much more conveineint to simply drag and drop my files from the computer to the new Charter FTP window i give one file a whirl.
Mac OS X says:
+"The Item "any old friggin thing" could not be moved because "webpages.charter.net" cannot be modified"+
"OK..." i say, "We'll see about THAT business..." and off i go to the Get info window to change the permissions so that i CAN change. no such luck, it doesn't even have a drop down, it says "You can only read".
What the heck?!
I try a third party FTP client and i can transfer files the old Anarchie way, ALL DAY LONG, NO PROBLEM. Why in the world can't i do the same thing from the Mac OS X FTP window? It makes no sense...

Sorry to report, but Charter was right... FTP from the Finder is read Only... cannot Write, long standing issue... they tell me it's because of the inherent lack of Security via FTP, (it indeed is, but...).
Your choices are using a 3rd party Client, (which I prefer, TransmitX here, but lots like the free CyberDuck), or using Terminal to do it.

Incredibly slow FTP upload speeds on Intel Macs with OS 10.5

I've been using FTP programs like Fetch and Vicomsoft FTP for years and recently bought two new Intel iMacs to add to my office. I still have my older G5 iMacs as well. We have an extremely high speed business class broadband connection and on the older iMacs that are running 10.4.11, our FTP connection through Fetch and Vicomsoft with them is absolutely super-fast with upload speeds of close to 300 kb/sec.
However, on the new iMacs, which are Intel Macs and run OS 10.5, the FTP upload connection is insanely slow, with upload connections of less than 30 kb/sec (yes, 10 times slower). It starts out fast at first (like all FTP connections) but then very rapidly slows to a maddening crawl of 30 kb/sec or less.
Anyone have any idea what this might be attributed to? Or anyone out there have the same problem? We are having to transfer everything to our older iMacs in order to upload, which is another huge time waste.
Any help is appreciated.
BTW, on the new Intel Macs, we have tried using both Fetch 4.0.3 (which is the version we have on the older iMacs) as well as Fetch 5.3 and the same slowness problem exists for both.

I Nearly bought from Amazon too but I found a thread from Adobe stating that the only recognized outlet for lightoom is themselves and other outlets serial numbers will not be guaranteed.

It sounds as if your browser and some of your apps are not color-managed. This is pretty typical. Even IE9 is only partially color-managed.
You can expect color-managed and non-color-managed applications to show you different things with the same images. How different will depend upon how different your monitor color profile is from the image's color profile.
For web publication and most general use, experts usually advise saving images with the sRGB profile. If such images, saved through the Save for Web & Devices function, look different to you than you expect, it may be that your input images have previously been saved in another color space.
You should really try to get your head around color-management by reading more on it. It can seem baffling and it's difficult to understand without some background. A quick web search turns up many overviews. Beware, though, even people writing articles sometimes don't fully understand it.

as I’m using a Mac so I have download the file with .dmg extension, which is the one that currently doesn’t work.
I also tried to download the .exe one, but as expected when I double click on it, I have an error message that confirmed Windows is not supported.

ICC profiles for Epson R1800 and Lightroom - Mac Osx

Without trying to inflame an already heated discussion on prints that are too dark under my lightroom - printer - Mac Osx configuration. (Although I too am a sufferer of the darkness...!)
I have recently downloaded the latest ICC profiles for the R1800 directly from Epson to my Mac. There are three of them and for arguments sake they cover the paper type I want "Premium Glossy Photo Paper"
They download as a .sea file and not .icc as I expected.... My knowledge of Mac's doesnt extend to .sea files I'm afraid.
My question is what do i do with the file now that its downoaded?... Nothing happens when you double click on it and It doesnt appear to try to find where to install itself.
On another thread I read about dropping these files into Library - Colorsync - Profiles. They sit there happily but do not appear to show up in Lightroom when I wish to utilise the profiles.
All the original Epson profiles are there from when I installed the Epson Drivers (new and updated) but no new profiles are there. This is definitely the case as the profile "Premium Glossy Photo Paper" is still there but its name should be changed to "Premium Photo Paper Glossy" according to the Epson website... Besides.. If I delete the new files and go back into Lightroom nothing has changed.
Am i placing these files in the wrong area?

I suspect that some R1800 users have perhaps not tackled the issue of dark prints and may not be feel that they have an issue at all. I also believe that this particular issue only involves Intel Mac's which may not apply to some.
Your issue may have something to do with the printer driver as well... I made sure that I went and found the very latest driver that Epson has out (there is a new one specifically for Intel Mac's). I made sure that I deleted the driver that came with the original disk.... I did this via the "printer setup utility"... then downloaded and installed the new driver.
Only then did I go through the procedure for installing the new icc profiles as discussed...
The profiles should then automatically appear in Lightroom and in colosync in the "Finder" screen under:
" Users" > then whatever your computer name is > Library > Colorsync > Profiles
The new profiles should then be seen.
This is certainly the way I did it and perhaps the whole process has to be gone through for an Intel Mac.
Hope this helps... I am nowhere near a computer expert but it worked for me.

If you use the organizer, you need to buy the boxed version of PSE 12. You can usually find it at big box stores and online retailers for less than adobe's upgrade price, if you shop around. You need the boxed version because you get a serial number that works on both platforms, and you will need to install PSE 12 in windows first, upgrade your catalog, then make a full backup to a removable drive and restore from that to the mac, after installing PSE 12 there.
If you don't use organizer, it doesn't matter.

It's so hard that Adobe has no contact form, no way I can see to contact them. The help is not helpful to me, it's more like an FAQ. So I'd also be interested in knowing how their customer support is from anyone who has had to use it. They don't have any obvious way to contact them for pre-sales support. When I see that I get suspicious that you will get no help once you hand your money over.

Are you on CC or standalone perpetual licence?
If the former I believe you merely download LR from the CC site onto your iMac and log in and off you go.
If the latter, download LR onto your Mac from the perpetual licence site (not the CC version), install it and use the same licence number as with your PC.
