FTP Usernames and Password issues in DW 8 for Macintosh

Hi,
I have an issues in DW8 on Mac OS 10.4.9. Every so often, my
FTP usernames and passwords in the Dreamweaver site definitions
will swap. That means that the username from one site will now be
in the site def for another site. Nothing else ever swaps, e.g.,
the local paths, passwords, and other settings are fine. It is just
the usernames that seem to move from site to site at random. If I
have a test server set up for a site, it also happens there. I've
looked everywhere and can't find anybody else who has had this
problem. I know there is a similar issue on Windows with IE7, but
haven't seen anything on the Mac. This happens on both my G5 tower
and iBook. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, I would
appreciate it. It's not too big of an inconvenience, but it is
annoying. Thanks in advance!

Although it may not be the solution, have you installed the
8.0.2 updater?

Dreamweaver CS5 (Windows) does not remember ftp username and password

I have seen this problem mentioned in other threads concerning Mac instalations of Dreamweaver, but this is a Windows installation. I recently installed DW CS5, and it refuses to remember the ftp username and password after I quit the program and restart it later. This was never a problem with CS3. It is extremely annoying. Any suggestions?

OK, got it fixed. Even though it said it was pointed to the correct directory in "local site folder" I picked it again and then it said something like "rebuilding cache". and it worked.

How to set username and password when using Proxy class for SOCKS5?

I use the proxy class for SOCKS5, so need to set username and password, I don't find where can I set the value. whether the API support it.

1. After I set the value, I connect internet by proxy, how the proxy server knows the values?Because Java tells it during the SOCKS handshake.
2. In my app, I just set the values in the system properties, then JVM does remaining work? Remaining work is not concerned?Should be OK unless you have to connect to a different SOCKS proxy from the same JVM, but that kind of thing is problematic anyway due to the curious Authenticator design which is set globally, not per connection as you might expect.

I had the same question. Apperently the FTP user name and password are in the publish file.

From the blog mentioned above. If you open the publish profile file the FTP site, user name, and password are found in the highlighted sections below. I was able to log on to check my Diagnostic Logs using Enternet Explorere. But I am sure you can do the same
thing with FileZilla or any other FTP software.

Username and password issue in SAP GUI logon-Please help

Usually I download the tx.sap file from my work system it downloads and opens the main screen directly.( password is disabled for us). Now when I connect from home(home system through VPN) ,i can download tx.sap file from my company's SAP web portal ,but when I open the same through SAP GUI on my system it pops up a password screen- the issue is my employee ID is already populated in the username tab, but when I provide my domain password (i tried all my passwords),it throws an error -you do not require a password, now when i try without a password it shows fill in all required entry fields. Please assist.

If you enter just the username, the network is not sure which "AD Domain" to contact tp authenticate you as a user. So you need to specify the domain name in any of the below 2 formats. Give it a try.
Format 1 - [email protected]
Format 2 - DOMAIN\UserName

FTP Username and Password not saving?

I have dreamweaver CS5 for Mac but whenever I shut the application down and re-open it it forgets the FTP Password that I set in "Site Manager" even though I have ticked the box that says save.
Anyone having this problem or got a possible solution??

Make sure dreamweaver is closed when you reset the keychain (Closed as in quit not minimised). Then give it about a quarter of an hour before using dreamweaver.
Mine didn't work straight away but after opening dreamweaver and typing in the ftp information it remembered it.

You have to delete the iCloud account, provide the password for the iCloud ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.

Dreamweaver CS6 (on Vista) forgets and refuses to store all my FTP Usernames and Passwords.

According to the FAQs and some forum posts that I found, this problem seemed to be solved with Dreamweaver Version 8.0.2. Why is this still happening to me?

Configure scp username and password

We used to load parts of the configuration for IOS switches from a ftp
server. To easily access those files when logged in on the switch ...
copy ftp://a.b.c/conf-file running-config
... we configured the FTP username and password:
ip ftp username ourusername
ip ftp password 7 123ourpassword456
Now, to enhance security, we would like to switch over to scp.
While we are able to transfer files via scp, we wonder
-why there is a significant delay when doing scp operations
-who there appear to be no commands like "ip scp username" or "ip scp
password".
Any hints appreciated.

1. You need to Sign in with your Adobe ID in either 'Creative Cloud Desktop app or any other Creative Cloud application.
2. Launch Edge Inspect CC app. It should get you logged in automatically. Please click on the icon with letters "In" in your menu bar and verify that it has picked up correct Adobe ID.

IWeb username and password problem

I've published a few sites now using iWeb, and just ran into this problem for the first time. The site I'm working on when published now asks for my apple username and password (my apple email address and apple password, for itunes etc etc) instead of the username and password I enter in iweb for password protecting the site. It says something like 'the username and password for your mobile me domain is incorrect. and when I put in my email address and apple password, it works. All my other sites that I set individual usernames and passwords for are working fine.
Anyone know why it would be doing this? I did copy the pages from another site. could that be part of the problem?

Have you found a good solution to your problem yet? I had an issue like you describe, where I thought I had to enter my MobileMe user/pass when prompted when browsing.
The issue with passwords that I saw was when creating more than one site within a single domain.sites file. I have one public site without a password, and then the other several sites in this file do have passwords, and each of them has a different password. With this multi-site and multi-password configuration, I was confused why the passwords seemed to NOT be working.
The result seems to be that the LAST site published is the user/pass used for ALL of the password protected sites. So right now, after editing a page in one of my private sites, I publish that site, and then I ALSO re-publish the site with the password that I want. This way at least I know the password being used. But it's a single password used for ALL the private sites.

I can't remember by FTP login and password CS4

How do I find out my login and password with Dreamweaver CS4. I can't upload any modified web pages without this password. Can I have someone e-mail me a new password? Can I just change to a new password?

No, that's not the problem. The credentials you enter in DW must match your FTP account credentials of your site.

SOAP Lookup with username and password

I am doing a lookup using a Java UDF from PI message mapping using a SOAP receiver channel by passing a username and password to get a value from a webservice. This is passed to a field in the target side. Everything works fine.
But I want to avoid hardcoding the username and password sent in the XML for the lookup in the UDF. Anyone has any suggestions?

Are you passing the userid and password in url of SOAP Lookup? You can try using value mapping to get the password for a given username..
Else maintain it in SOAP channels and for each user id try selecting a different SOAP channel.. HEre also you can use value mapping for userid = soapchannel relationship.

GO to Security Realms > myrealm > Users n Groups > Create a new user (say 'developer') > Click on 'developer' user > Click on Groups > Make it a member of the groups you want your developer to be depending on what kind of previledges you want to give them.
