FTXP slow in Production, fast in QA environment

Using FTXP we need to deactivate two account keys and then activate two different account keys on all tax rate records in our system (over 500).  In Q environment we can save a change to a tax jurisdiction and change the next jurisdiction immediately with no delay.  In P the sytem gives message "Data can only be displayed - data is still being processed" for five minutes after we save a change.
What would cause this delay?
Thanks
Steve

Hi
The follwoing logic should explain your issue, in live environ ment there maye be various users using the Tax code for assignment to some of the documents, and the corresponding simulation must be going on there on active mode, secondly, the G/L accounts might be in use for some of the change mode activites and there might be som other link also for which the objects you are planning to change might have been invlovedm since we can not control all these during live transaction environ ment systeme ais taking more time for updation. I wouldsuggest that please carry out the chages during off-peak period or in holiday, then you can check the difference. There is not basis involvement required here, since as per your observation you do not have any problem in QA then that explanis the porblem.

  • Firefox slow wireless but fast wired. No issues running IE wireless. Tried system restore, fact. reset, turned off accl, disabled addons, run in safe mode.....

So i have an HP e118dx running on windows 8.1 with very little software on it. Currently running FF 37.0.1 and in wireless mode it always hangs up, runs slow, or times out. When plugged in it runs just fine. Can get on net using IE via wireless and no issues. So it seems to be something specific to FF on the wireless side. Thought it might have been my wireless card but running IE just fine seems to rule that out.
Have already tried system restore a few times, factory reset, turn off hardware accel., run in safe mode(FF), disabled add ons and nothing seems to help. If i have tabs open while wired, then go wireless and refresh the pages or browse on the already open pages i tend to get a couple minutes of trouble free experience before it slows to a halt again.
To recap....FF on wireless=slow and wired=fast. No difference when using IE wireless---always fast.

Not sure what you mean by # of connections being made. Not sure if that means tabs open, or folks using the actual wireless network. A while back when i was going through this with the isp i got a crash coarse on how to go into the modem and check a bunch of different stuff, as well as reset things. When looking in there only 1 or 2 computers showed on the network. The network is password protected......i guess protected only to the extent that a pswrd can. Not certain if someone nefariously connected somehow.....didn't show up when looking for users on the network though.
The first bullet point......Not sure how to do any of that so i'd say no.
Second bullet point......Yes, did lots of clearing temp files, caches, history, etc. along with systems restores and factory resets. although not exactly sure what you mean by dns cache. Might have done this but don't recall specifically seeing that.
Third bullet point.....It doesn't make any difference on this end whether its on no proxy, auto proxy, manual proxy. While i have no idea what all this stuff does/affects performance i played with it on all different settings and nothing changed here. Put it back to no proxy.
The thing is even when my wireless FF is acting up other devices in the home can be on the wireless with no issues. Think the other devices are using Chrome and some phone wifi hookup. Keep in mind if i switch to IE on the same device with FF windows open the IE will run just fine. At any given time there should only be 1-4 devices on the network so i'm guessing that shouldn't overload anything. Besides none of the other devices ever seem to come into this issue.
There always seems to be some issue that pops up after updates. Can't ever just leave working things alone.

  • How to best achieve slow motion and fast motion

Hi - I am new to the forum and a basic user of Premiere Pro CS5. I am working on a project shot at 24 fps, and would like to do slow and fast motion.
From what i understand there are 2-3 different ways to do this in Premiere - choosing speed/duration of the clip from timeline, or choosing time remapping form effects panel ot using rate stretch tool. Wondering how do these compare and which is better - any pointers for this will be great help. Also is slow motion and fast motion better done in After Effects than Premiere. Or any recommended plugins that would work on cs5 and cs5.5. Thanks.

The main difference between using time-remapping and just using time-stretching is that time-remapping allows you to change the speed quite flexibly at different times in the same clip, whereas stretching just changes the rate for the whole clip.
    See this page:
"Change speed and duration for one or more clips"
    > Also is slow motion and fast motion better done in After Effects than Premiere.
After Effects has far more control, especially with regard to how new image information is created between the original frames when you change speed and require frame interpolation (frame blending). Pixel Motion and Timewarp use a very advanced motion vector method (based on the Foundry's Kronos software) for doing this.
    See "Time-stretching and time-remapping".

  • Exchange 2013 - outlook in LAN environment very slow upload but fast download - not using 'use cached exchange mode'

    Hi,
I have Exchange 2013 setup in a new environment (no migration) and it is working great except I just realized there is a big problem.
    I notice the following
    Problem 1:
Outlook 2010 with sp2 with cached exchange mode on: when I import the pst into outlook, it imports fine but the sync is extremely slow. It uploads to the Exchange 2013 mail server at 20-70KB/sec (bytes) via LAN.
    Problem 2:
Outlook 2010 with sp2 with cached exchange mode off: when I import the pst into outlook, it imports extremely slow. It uploads to the Exchange 2013 mail server at 20-70KB/sec (bytes) via LAN.
    More info:
-user1 has 1GB of mail and when setting up the user on a new pc with outlook with cached exchange mode on, it downloads the mail very fast. It downloads at 40-80 Mbps/sec (bits).
    -I have Exchange 2013 with CU3 with win2k12 non r2.
Why is the download so fast from Exchange 2013 but the upload to Exchange 2013 is extremely slow? How do I fix this?
    Thanks

    I did some more testing.
I setup a test environment with:
    -Exchange 2013 SP1 on win2k12 r2
    -Outlook 2010 SP2 on windows 7 sp1
    -Outlook 2010 SP2 on windows 8.1
    -Outlook 2013 SP1 on windows 8.1
Both windows 7 and windows 8.1 have the very slow upload issue to Exchange 2013. Windows 7 upload to Exchange 2013 is around 20-70KB/sec (bytes) via LAN. Windows 8.1 upload is a bit more responsive at around 500-600KB/sec (bytes) via LAN.
I changed the TcpAckFrequency to 1 for windows 7 and 8.1 and the problem went away. The upload on both Windows 7 and 8.1 was going at megabytes after the change.
I hope Microsoft fixes this soon.
PowerShell script to have this automated via GPO:
    http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/571571-outlook-slow-after-migrating-to-exchange-2013
    PowerShell Script:
    $strGUIDS=[array](Get-WmiObject win32_networkadapter -filter "netconnectionstatus = 2" | select -expand GUID)
    foreach ($strGUID in $strGUIDS) {New-ItemProperty -path HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\$strGUID -propertytype DWORD -name TcpAckFrequency -value 1}

  • Materialized view refresh is very slow in production

    Hi,
I am using Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 version and facing problem in Materialized view refresh in production.
There is a set of Materialized views (15 Mviews) are refreshed through refresh group in production every week or adhoc basis. And for refreshing it is taking 5hrs. I have refreshed the same set of Materialized views multiple times in development environment through refresh group but it got refreshed within 3min. The structure of materialized base tables, type of materialized view refresh, materialized definition and volume of base tables are same between development and production. The production disk space also larger than development. But I am not sure why in production the refresh is very slow compare to development. As this is very critical can some one help on this?
    Thanks is advance.
    - Gopinath.

Is it fast refresh Mviews? If yes, then check size of materialized view logs. Also check is any other mviews registered on those tables and not refreshing.
    select log_owner, master, log_table, REFRESH_method, version,
           owner, name as ragistered_snapshot, snapshot_site, current_snapshots last_refresh_time, sl.snapshot_id
    from dba_snapshot_logs sl,
         dba_registered_snapshots rs
    where sl.snapshot_id = rs.snapshot_id (+)

  • Video Production Storage for Home Environment

I know what I'm about to talk about is relatively quite small compared to many businesses, but it's quite large for a home environment (and budget!)....
I've recently started doing some Video Production using kdenlive; my last project was a 12 minute video and all the files for the project totalled ~120gb.
I want to do more VP work, but I'd like to get some ideas on storage for this kind of work; lots of space, but also fast access needed. At the moment I'm using a 4-bay external enclosure in RAID-10 connected via USB3 which seems to work OK, but I'm wondering if I it would be worth turning that into a RAID-6 (more efficient use of raw disks) for archiving projects, and build a smaller internal RAID1/10 array of SSD's for doing "live" work?
Do you do this? How do you handle it? What are your suggestions?

I'm not sure I'm understanding it right, maybe I'm totally missing the point...?
Do you have the project you're working on on the same storage as the ones you don't currently need? Does that mean you need fast access to the old projects, too?
My setup and requirements are far below yours, but so far I'm doing fine with 50-300GB projects on a normal internal drive with only the 2-3 projects I've been working on last (<3 that velociraptor 1TB hd). Isn't one internal drive usually already a fair bit faster than such an USB3 RAID-10? Depends on what bottlenecks play the lead I guess...
In background, I simply sync that drive together with the rest of my system to my backup "array" that keeps hardlinks to deleted files in folders by date... so I can just delete files from the work-drive without fear of loosing anything. Those backup arrays aren't raid either - I simply use backup HD's like it used to work with those C64 "cassette drives" - if it's full, I dump the directory tree to a text file for later reference, put a label on the backup hd, put it in a drawer and stick the next big, cheap, slow, empty HD into my cheap slow USB3 dock. In my case, the redundancy that results from this method turns out just right (all projects end up on at least 2 HDs in the end, only small ones on more than 4). That it works out so well might be partly coincidence though.
I tried to involve RAID arrays in the past... turned out to make more problems & work than it had advantages in my case. I'm clumsy and also like to misplace hardware on occasion. Without raid there's a lot less room for me to mess things up.

  • Follow-up to Slow Web Pages/Fast Internet Speed

After trying everything I could, which included redownloading Safari, cleaning out preference files, resetting network, I still had extremely slow loading web pages and links. Dowloads were fast. Loading very slow.
Today, I tried an archive and install and still had the same problem. So, I decided to go all the way and wipe the drive and reinstall from scratch.
That solved my problem! I am now really fast in loading web pages and
am very happy. Now I've just got to start loading back my files from a back-up firewire drive.
Don't know what it could have been but it's obvious it was software related.
Maybe a corrupt preference file or....
By the way, installation went without a hitch. First time I've had to do this because Tiger came preinstalled when I got this Rev. B in June.
I'm a happy Internet cruiser again.
    Cheers
    mrjazz

Simply back up your files and start your computer up with the Mac OS X DVD in your drive and holding down the "C" key during the boot process.
During the installation process choose to erase the HD and perform a fresh install. That's about it.

  • Lion runs very slow on a fast MacBook Pro, why?

I have Mid 2010 MacBook Pro, I used to have Snow Leopard and it was VERY fast. I bought Lion about 3 months after its release date. I like it but, all the aplications run REALLY slow! On Snow Leopard, my computer would boot up within 30 seconds but after I got Lion it at least takes a minute to boot up. I also keep seeing the beachball every now and then, and when I look at my ram usage, it's normal. Safari takes for ever to launch, but after its on I have no problem at all. Another wierd thing is that when I am on youtube, Safari itself uses 1.5gb of ram. I don't know if this has anything to do with Lion but when I was a Snow Leopard user my battery health would stay between 95% and 100% but since I have Lion, it "jumps' around. I goes to any random number between 80 and 100. An hour ago it 90% and right now its 82%, tomorrow it will be something like 85%. I've not changed the way I charge and use my battery. Does Lion use more battery?

Oh, and I forgot to add the specs. I have 4gb of Memory/Ram. The processor is a 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. It's a 13" MacBook Pro.

  • Extreme + 2 Express = slow  | ABS original = fast why?

Parents came back from vacation, both sporting iBook 133ghz with extreme built in. Upon return, their extreme wireless has been performing extremely slow. As an example on their network (802.11G only) throughput is only 15-25kbs while downloading software updates. I stopped the software update, and switched to my base station (old one) running 802.11B only, and they both download at 354kbs constantly.
The full setup is 1 Extreme BS (main bs WDS ) to 2 Expresses's throughout the house to sound systems and used as internet extenders as reception is poor in the kitchen. The extreme is connected to a router which is hooked up to the internet. Before they left everything was fine, very fast transfers ect. I've restarted all BS's reconfiged channels, tested multi cast at 2 and at 24, no difference in speed. Reception is full and internet can be used throughout entire house.
Any help on why all of a sudden speed has become impossible to work with would be much appreciated....802.11b should not be faster...

With all of the AirPorts connected by Ethernet, you have the basics for configuring them into a "roaming" network.
Setup the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) to "Share a public IP address."
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
Setup both AirPort Express Base Stations (AX) as bridges.
AirPort Utility > Select the AX > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
For each AX in the roaming network:
o Connect to the same subnet of the Ethernet network
o Provide a unique Base Station Name
o The Network Name should be identical
o If using security, use the same encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc.) and password.
o Make sure that the channel is set at least three channels apart from the next AX.

Also value for opened cursors cumulative for test is high but it is low on prod.I don't have the awr report as database is standard edition Looking forward to your reply

  • Query running sometimes slow and sometimes fast on both prod and dev. Help

We are running a job that is behaving so inconsistently that I am ready to jump off the 19th floor. :-)
This query that goes against one table, was just coming to halt in production. After 4 days of investigation we thought it was the resource on production box. Now we have another dev box where we were also having the same issue. This box gets updated with production data everyday. There is a 3rd box. DBA ran update statistics on the 3rd box and the job was never slow there. When we updated 2nd box (dev) with statistics from th 3rd box, the job also ran fine. So we thought we know for sure that it is the statistics that we need to up. Now for business testing, the 2nd and 3rd box got updated with data and statistics from production box (the troubled one). We thought surely we will see issues on the 2nd and 3rd box, but the job was just running fine on these boxes. As I said, the 2nd box gets updated with production data everyday. After last night's refresh this job is running long on the 2nd box again. We are really puzzled. Has any one experience anything like this before?
    thanks in advance.

We got our dba who is checking the plan when ever we run the job.

    Hi
The Microsoft has MSCS for SAP with Oracle or SQL database.
The single point of failure [SPOF] in MSCS setup are the following:
    - DB software
    - ERS (Enqueue Replication Server)
    - Message Server
CI =DI + Enq server + Msg server
Of which Enq & Msg server are under cluster config.
The application servers [dialog instances] are not under SPOF. As part of MSCS setup, you can setup 2 Appl servers(DI). But you can setup any number of appl servers and use it for load balancing and SPOF[externally]
The document is available in the path http://service.sap.com/instguidesNW70 --> Installation -->  Installation - SAP NetWeaver Systems --> SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR2 - Installation Guides --> Select MS SQL Server
