Fuji FInePIx F31fd colour reproduction problems in Lightroom.

Hi, I have a Canon 400D and Fuji FInePix F31fd. When I import the Fuji pictures into Lightroom (1.1 and 1.3) some of the pictures have pink artefacts on the faces of the subjects. When viewed on the camera, using Canon software of Fuji software, or even Nero or Windows, none of the artefacts are present. In fact, all of the Fuji images look soft and the colour reproductions are poor when viewed with Lightroom or Photoshop.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anybody have any suggestions for resolving this?
Many thanks.

Not necessarily. The other applications likely don't use the OS's default monitor profile.
As for the 400D shots, it's possible that the tone curves tend more to avoid the troublesome areas of the profile.
If you don't profile your monitor, delete the default from the OS and see if things change. You can always put it back.

  • Fuji Finepix iPhoto movie import problems

iPhoto won't let me import any movies from my Fuji Finepix camera that's over two/three minutes long. I've plugged my camera into a friend PC and it imported the movie with out any problems. There's no problems with importing photos at all, or movies under two minutes. It just doesn't recognize movies over 2 minutes.
I have plenty of space on my HD to accommodate these movies.
    I'm using iPhoto 6.0.6
any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    thx

    Hi.
I have had the same problem with iPhoto 6 not importing my longer video clips. I do use a card reader. When iPhoto won't import a movie, the workaround is to use Image Capture. Select "Download Some" and switch the window to List view to preview the files on the card. Select the movies and upload to a Desktop folder. Ignore the blue progress meter - it seems to go from 0 to 100% with no indication of actual progress. It can take several minutes, but I've learned to be patient and the clips will eventually appear on the Desktop. Once there, iPhoto has had no trouble importing them into the Library.
    Regards.

  • Transferring movies from Finepix f31fd

Not strictly an iPhoto query but I couldn't find another suitable forum.
My Fuji Finepix f31fd does not appear as a mass storage device on my desktop so, although I can import photos using iPhoto, I don't know how I can copy movies from the camera to my Mac.
(My previous camera was a Finepix f10 which did appear as a USB storage device so I could just drag and drop the movie files.)
The Fuji website isn't much help so I'm trying here!
    Thanks,
    Robin.

    Robin,
You have 2 choices. The first is to open Image Capture (in your Applications folder). It should see your camera and give you the option to "import some." You can then navigate to your video clips and upload them to a folder on your desktop. Once on your desktop, import them into iPhoto and see if it can handle them. Or keep them out of iPhoto and store them in your Movies folder.
The other option is to use a card reader, which connects to your Mac via USB. This will mount on the desktop like your previous camera, and allows you to navigate the card from within iPhoto to select photos and movies to import. I use a card reader all the time, as it saves on the camera's batteries and makes importing easy.

  • Fuji Finepix X10 in CS5 Camera RAW

    Hello
I have a problem to open RAW files from Fuji Finepix X10 in Photoshop CS5 Camera RAW.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem.

  • Which RAW converter for unsupported cameras (here: Fuji Finepix S100FS ?

I just started to shoot in RAW and have not yet found a good workflow. I am using the Fuji Finepix S100FS whose RAW files are not supported by Aperture. Which RAW converter do you recommend?
I tried already Rawker but my impression is that the outcome is not very good although the workflow is quite easy. I tried also the Fuji Finepix studio but it is terribly slow and the layout makes it unusable for me.
I am considering to buy RAW Developer. But I hesitate to pay more than 90 Euro just for a converter (I would like to use Aperture for all adjustments).

    ...DxO is supporting your camera...
You can download a trial version at DxO.com
DxO gives a wide variety of adjustment.
Export to JPG, TIF and (linear) DNG.
...Adobe Lightroom does not support your camera's files.
It's a pity because it runs faster and smoother than Aperture.
I presume that Adobe DNG Converter does not support your cam.
...you might try graphic converter too...

  • Connecting Fuji Finepix S700 camera

I wasn't totally sure where to put this, b/c I'm having the same problem with my Powerbook G4 running 10.4 and my eMac running 10.3.9. Everything here happens the same for both computers.
I just bought a Fuji Finepix S700. I cannot get the computers to recognize the camera as a mounted volume. The craziest part is that it is using the +exact same+ memory card as my old camera - the computer was mounting this card yesterday, and now it doesn't in the new camera.
Image Capture finds the camera, but I don't want to use Image Capture. I want to be able to open pictures in Preview while they're still in the camera so that I can make informed decisions about which to download and which to trash. I want to be able to trash files without downloading them. I want to move old pictures off my computer onto the card so that I can take it to Target for prints. Etc etc etc, all the things that you can do when it's mounted as a volume.
The process PTPCamera shows up in top/activity monitor when the camera is plugged in. No drive appears on the desktop, and nothing appears in /Volumes. I did install the included software just in case there was a driver on there somewhere that it needed, but it didn't help. Even their software doesn't seem to find the camera - only Image Capture and System Profiler know it's there. I tried reformatting the memory card.
Can anyone help me? I don't want my computer to tell me what to do with my camera. If I want to use a download program, I will. I just want it to show me the disk and let me do what I want.
Barring that, anyone know of a good 10-12x zoom camera in the $150-200 range that doesn't have this issue??? This didn't come up in ANY of the reviews.

    Hi, Brandy and louie.
Find a memory card reader and deal with the card directly into the computer. However, when I tried this (and several others have confirmed problems), PC cards don't seem to work with 1GB and larger xD cards.
Using a memory card reader is often the best solution for such problems. But as louie says, high-capacity cards, especially those in the xD card format, seem to present special problems. Older readers can't "see" them. Before you buy a reader, make sure its packaging or documentation describes it as capable of reading large-capacity cards.
My daughter bought a Fuji camera a couple of years ago, and we tore our hair out over this problem for so long, buying and trying three different PC Card readers, that she finally just replaced the camera with one from another manufacturer that uses SD cards instead. Only later did I learn that the capacity of her cards (1GB and 2GB) had been the issue all along.

you'll need both serial numbers to install the lr 5 upgrade.
if you purchased and downloaded lr 4 from adobe or registered with adobe, you may be able to find your lr 4 serial number under the account used to make that purchase/registration (not necessarily your current adobe id), Adobe ID

  • Problems with Lightroom 5.2 and Olympus EM-1 RAW files?

There have been reports on DPREVIEW of color problems using Lightroom 5.2 with RAW files from the Olympus OM-D EM-1 camera.  This causes  difficulty creating camera profiles, and creates a red shift in Images.  JPG images are unaffected.
    Anyone else seeing this?
When may we look forward to LR 5.3, hopefully with a fix?
    Thanks............... Jack Winberg

The read me file from Adobe indicate that LR 5.2 has "preliminary" support for the Olympus EM-1 raw files.
I would make sure you keep your original raw files so they can be converted when the support is finalized. i.e. I would not convert to dng on import if that is your normal workflow.

  • Exporting problem in Lightroom 5.7

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem with lightroom and I really hope someone in the community can help me because I have a client waiting for the pictures
When I export the pictures everything works just fine, but when I open the edited (?) file I only get the original. This doesn't change when I export to another file format or anything.
Does someone know how I can export these files? I have done it without problems multiple times and this problem just appeared.
    Thanks in advance.
    Stef

When I export the pictures everything works just fine, but when I open the edited (?) file I only get the original.
    I guess I would like a clarification.
Does this mean you go back to the original photo and expect the edits to appear (they will not appear), or does this mean you are exporting the photo and you go to the exported photo (which is a different file than the original photo) and are not seeing the edits?

  • Full screen colour profile problem

I just posted this as feedback to Apple and was curious to see if anyone was having the same problem:
I have a dual monitor setup: One Eizo CG222W and one Eizo CG210. The 222W is my primary display (menu bar on this one). Both monitors are calibrated and profiled with a Spyder3 and ColorEyes Display Pro. I have the profiles loaded on both displays. It is worth noting that both (particularly the 222W) are wide gamut, so you may well not see this happening if you are looking at an Apple Cinema display (no offence, but you're just not going to see this so pronounced on an Apple display). To put it into perspective, I have just bought the CG222W and was not noticing any issues with the CG210 because its gamut is narrower (but still wider than a cinema display).
So, if I view an image within Aperture (not full screen), then it looks normal, but when I hit full screen and look at the same image (on the same display), it is noticeably over-saturated. As a check I also opened the same image in Photoshop (on the same display) and it looks exactly the same as when viewed in the normal (non full screen) view of Aperture.
It is clear that there is a colour profile problem with Aperture. It appears that when full screen mode is selected, a different profile is loaded for the display, or a different working space (if Aperture provides such functionality). I won't be doing any image adjustments in full screen mode until this has been corrected.

There is well documented issue with this problem. The fix is to set your default monitor to whichever monitor you are using to view Aperture in full screen, using color sync utility.
The reason you don't have this problem in PS is because it has its own color management within the software.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers

  • Projector problems using Lightroom

I am a photography teacher in Germany. The school recently purchased a new high-end (HDMI) projector (40,000 Euros) The quality is incredible. The projector works perfectly when using PowerPoint and Windows Photo Viewer. When I open Lightroom, the projector periodically flashes on and off. The projector works perfectly for all the other teachers in a wide variety of applications. I need to find a solution to this problem as Lightroom represents my tool of choice for post processing. Below are my system details.
    Computer and OS:
    HP EliteBook 2760p
HP Docking station using a DisplayPort to HDMI cable to the projector
    Windows 7
    Lightroom 5.3
The IT staff at the school are very good and they do not know what is happening. I have tried several different cables and nothing appears to fix the problem.
I look forward to hearing from you,
    Jim

To clarify, PowerPoint and Windows Photo Viewer work with YOUR laptop connected and only LR has an issue, correct? Does LR work at all and if so in what modules, how soon do you see the flashing, what color is the projector screen, is it displaying a message? It sounds like the HDMI handshake is getting dropped for some reason. My first suggestion is to refer to the user manual, online troubleshooting on the manufacturer's website, or contact the projector manufacturer's tech support. Also make sure you are using a "Certified" HDMI 1.3 cable form a name-brand manufacturer of no more than 3 meter length.
    Other things to try:
Set the projector in Lightroom as the 2nd display (1 and 2 icons in lower left-hand corner). You may need to use Windows display setup Guided Help: Dual monitor setup is easy in Windows 7!
You might also try installing Lightroom on another laptop or desktop and see if the same issue occurs.

  • Fuji finepix 4800 zoom and camera connector

Anyone know if the fuji finepix 4800 zoom works with the ipod camera connector. I took my camera along to my unhelpful apple reseller in Glasgow and they refused to let me test it with my 5G and said I would have to look up the compatibility list. I explained it wasn't on it and just got a shrug of the shoulders.

    hiya!
hmmm. that particular model of Fuji Finepix isn't listed on the compatability list:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/compatibility/cameraconnector.html
... on the other hand, that page also says:
The cameras on this list have been tested for compatibility by Apple or the camera’s manufacturer; other digital cameras may also be compatible with the iPod Camera Connector. Some models may lose compatibility due to modification of the camera’s specifications by the manufacturer. If your camera is not on this list, please consult your owner’s manual or contact the manufacturer to verify compatibility.
... so it might be worth checking in at Fuji about this.
    love, b

Heya, Jonathan. Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Congratulations, and welcome to the fun-filled world of kernel panics. Yup, that's the text in the gray box you're getting.
The good news is you don't necessarily have to reinstall Mac OS X. If you have access to another computer and a FireWire cable, you can reinstall the 10.4.3 update, and everything should be groovy.
    * Connect the two computers via FireWire cable. Your iBook should not be on yet.
    * Boot up your iBook and hold down the 'T' key as it starts up. The iBook will enter Target mode.
    * Download the Mac OS 10.4.3 update on the other computer.
    * Run the 10.4.3 updater as normal, but select the hard drive of your iBook when you get to the list of available volumes.
Failing that, you can reinstall Mac OS X on your iBook from your install DVD. When you select your volume, make sure you click on the 'Options' button and select 'Archive and Install'. You'll retain all your personal files and network settings, but you might have to reinstall applications, haxies, etc.
