Fuji HS10 .RAF Files

Hello everyone,
Is there any news on when camera RAW will be able to deal with the .RAF files from the HS10???
I would really like to use the RAW setting on my camera and prepare them for PSE 8.

  • How do I process Fuji XE2 raf files in lightroom 4.4

New to Fuji cameras! Love the camera, now I need to know how to get Lightroom 4.4 to preview and process my XE2 raf files. My issue starts with a message 'can not preview image' and the raw raf files do not come up at all. Ideas?

Where did you see this false information--about LR 4.4 supporting the X-E2?
LR 4.4.1 was released June 2013.
The X-E2 was announced October 2013, some months after, LR 4.4.1.
Adobe's raw conversion software needs specific information for each camera, to support raws from that camera.  Adobe needs a production-ready camera in hand to determine this information so there's no way LR 4.4.1 would already have information from a camera not announced until some months later, and available for sale even later.
If you have simple software that supports the camera, either it is newer, or it is merely reading the embedded JPG preview and not interpreting the raw data.
The DNG Converter 8.3 or newer should work fine to create DNGs from the camera's native raw files; however, when you specify the source, the usual confusion is that you are selecting a FOLDER and you won't see any image files listed.

  • Fuji S3Pro: RAF Files

I have a Fuji S3Pro and have found that it doesn't support RAF. I should have checked the Web. Dumb. Now I will wait unless someone knows that RAF files are supported.

Are you sure that .RAF files aren't supported? I'm pretty sure that iPhoto supports .RAF as does Mac OS 10.4.3.
On this Apple webpage - http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/cameras.html
Most Fuji FinePix cameras are supported, this includes the S1 & S2 which both produce .RAF files
To my knowledge, that means Aperture should support .RAF files.

  • I cannot open a RAF file in my CS4 . Have downloaded RAF 6.2 on my PC for a Fuji Finepix HS10

    djh139z

you need camera raw 6.2 or better.
your cs4 program is probably not compatible with that version of camera raw, but what cs4 program are you trying to use with that raf file?
if, for example, you're trying to use photoshop cs4, it cannot be updated beyond cr 5.7.  you can, however, use the dng converter, https://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/06/camera-raw-8-1-and-dng-converter-8-1-now- available.html

  • CS5 won't open RAF files from FinePix HS10 & Camera Raw 6.3- Is there something I'm missing??

    Ok-
I've bought CS5 Extended and then updated it (including the Camera Raw 6.3 update).
I am using a MacBook Pro (and an iMac also).
When I try to open the RAF file I get the message "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." Yet the release notes for Camer Raw say that it will open FinePix HS10 files...
So I then decided to try a manual install of Camera Raw- I get the same message.
I have checked with other HS10 users and their PS does open them.
Is there something obvious that I am missing- or is there a problem with the camera raw or the photoshop cs5??
    Hope someone can help!!

I didn't realise that the Camera Raw won't work in 64bit mode. Converting to 32bit enabled the files to be opened.
Actually, that's wrong. Camera Raw 6.3 WILL run as a 64-bit plug-in when hosted by Photoshop CS5 if CS5 is running as a 64-bit app. It'll run as a 32-bit plug-in when hosted by Bridge or Photoshop CS5 set to run as 32-bit.
So, there's something else going on here....
How are you trying to open the raw files? From within Bridge or the Finder? How did you update Camera Raw to version 6.3? From the updater? Is ACR 6.3 in the correct install location? main Library (not the User but root), Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS5/File Formats/Camera Raw.plugin
Can you open raw images from within Bridge? Have you tried to view raw files with Bridge before you updated Camera Raw? Have you trashed the cache foe the folder? In Bridge under Tools/Cache/Purge Cache

  • Fuji RAF files

Hi Everybody, Aperture is not working with RAW files shooted in Fuji S3 pro...RAF files.. ANy clue ?

Don't worry. You're not missing out on much.
Apple sure did a good job hyping this thing up but their RAW workflow adjustments tools (whitebalance, levels etc) are all very lame in comparison to Photoshop etc.
I love the selection and file management aspects to Aperture and they should have stuck to that and charged $200 or so for it.

  • PE can't do Fuji HS20 EXR .RAF files.

Installed PE 9.0.1 downloaded update, downloaded RAW 6.3 still can't open .RAF files from Fuji HS20 EXR.  Just installed PE on my laptop running Windows Vista.  Downloaded updates etc, but can't open the .RAF files my Fujifilm camera produces.  It works on my other computer running Windows 7 and used to work on my old computer running XP (since decomissioned).  Any suggestions?

  • How to work with Fuji RAF files?

I'm using an Fuji S2 and shoot RAF files. These are not supported in Aperture. Is there a quick workaround?

WHAT!!!! work around? you missed the point of have RAW file management. What else does Aperture do making it worth the price of professional software if it is a work around?
I'm sorely disgusted that FUJI PROS2/PROS3 support was back burnered. Clearly this camera has a large installed base, just look at pbase.com
Fuji RAF files still work great in Adobe Bridge without a work around.

  • When will Lightroom enable importing RAF files from Fuji X100T?

Just got my new X100T but Lightroom 5.6 does not yet enable importing RAF files. When will this be available?

You might want to read this, Anne:
Why doesn’t my version of Photoshop or Lightroom support my camera?
    Especially this part:
"Finally, if your camera came out within the past 90 days, be patient, as you may need to wait for the new camera support. Adobe goes through a rigorous process of adding support for and testing of each new camera raw format. Adobe generally releases updates of the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in and Lightroom to provide new camera support about once a quarter, or about every 90 days. Feel free to drop us request or vote for specific camera support on our Feedback Site."

  • I cannot open a RAF file Elements 10.

I have just got a Fuji HS50 which although it shoots in RAW format it files it as a RAF file.
I have tried to open the RAF file in Elements 10 but all I get is a dialogue box telling me it cannot open that format-yet my partner has an HS20 which uses the same RAF extension and they open with no problems.
The file will convert using DNG Converter which is time consuming with several files so I am looking for a way to open them directly if possible.
All updates are up to date and both cameras are supported.
I am pretty new to this so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

The Fuji FinePix HS50EXR requires Adobe Camera Raw 7.4 which only means compatibility with PSE11 or PSE12. To edit in PSE10 you could, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter (latest version 8.6)to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.6
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.6
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:
