Fuji S200EXR

hello, I have Lightroom 2.7 installed and my camera is a Fuji S200EXR, for when the update of the program to read the raw files of this camera.
Please help, I love Lightroom, but Paint shop photo pro X3 is compatible whith my camera, and I consider buy this software.
Regards

Great News !!!!
Although PSP X3 will support the S200EXR RAW files, it is a 'mare to use.
I have just tried Helicon Filter.  This uses the DCRAW software, as well as it's own processing engine AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!!!  It makes changes in real time, has most functions that you would need and it very easy to use.  What is more, this software is totally FREE!!!
Go to http://www.heliconsoft.com/ and download the free version v4.93.2 and try the beta version 5.  Make the changes to your RAW files and then save as jpg to edit further in your software of choice (even Lightroom) and you will get some great results.
Adobe, if a small (not meant to offend) company can support the S200EXR RAW format, why can't you?  Many many people have been crying out for support for the past year and have just been ignored!!  Let's hope you don't lose too many customers due to this lack of interest you show.

  • Fuji s200EXR Raw

    Hello all,
    newbie here .
Recently bought a fuji s200EXR , and have been readng about RAW files , hence looked at the latest ACR update .and noted that my camera is not suported yet .
Have played about with the finepix viewr that lets me convert to Tiff but that is very low quality as is s7RAW.
I am keeping the RAW images in the hope the camera will be included in another ACR update .
Has anyone any idea whether this will happen ?
    Thanks in advance

SP1 for CorelDRAW X5 add support to Fujifilm S200exr camera... first as always (filter is not perfect... but is bad... wait SP2?)! ...and Adobe ACR? ... wait 6.2?

  • CS5, RAW FOR FUJI S200EXR?

    Hello,
First of all, sorry for my bad english, I do my best...
I am using your software because I am doing a photography course. They have CS5, and I am very interested to buy this program. But my camera is FUJIFILM FINEPIX S200EXR, and the format of the raw file is *.RAF. And is not posible to work with the raw file with your programs. I have checked your list of compatibility and appears fuji hs10, that is eight months younger than my camera but only mine is not in the list.
My question is, when you will support my raw file? I need it!
    thank you for your time!
    Best regards
    Mike, from Spain (Mallorca)

Of course the raw files have to be completely decoded from scratch. The Fuji SDK for the camera would be useless because it wouldn't contain much if anything that Adobe could use. The camera maker's SDK is generally a "black box" set of processing routines that simply could not be used for the Camera Raw/Lightroom processing–not if you wanted to use Camera Raw's array of tools.
You can certainly be disappointed that it takes time from the release of a camera until software catches up. But you really should be realistic in your expectations...you buy a new camera, it's gonna take time till 3rd party software supports it.

  • How can anyone buy new model cameras without RAW support forecasts?

If a person wants to buy a camera and wants to use Aperture, what can they do? I'm sure I want to shoot RAW images, and I'm sure I want to use Aperture, but how does one buy a new model camera when they don't know what drivers Apple is working on adding?
I bought Aperture2 last spring and learned to use it with JPEGs, hoping to use it to shoot RAW images with a newer camera. I've researched cameras and narrowed the field, but when I went to the list of cameras supported by Aperture3, I was horrified. All of the cameras I chose shoot RAW, but almost none are supported in RAW yet, and there seems to be no evidence that they will. I've worked kind of hard, partly learning Aperture, partly researching RAW cameras, and now I'm kind of in shock.
For example, the Canon t2 just came out - the t1 is covered, but how long until the t2 will be supported? Many of the top bridge cameras I'm considering also appear to be missing from the new Aperture3 list - like the the Sony DSC-HX1, the Panasonic Lumix FX35, and the Fuji S200EXR.
I appreciate the RAW support for familiar models, and I appreciate the DNG conversion connection thing - that helps. But what if Apple never comes out with RAW for my new camera after I've committed to it? Adobe Lightroom RAW support list looks a little longer, but is still not much for new bridge cameras. Why should Apple try to keep pace with Adobe, anyway? Why not have an insanely great list of RAW support? Is it that hard to configure devices before they come out?
I could use some reassurance here.

Thank you all for your insightful feedback.

Ultimately, I bought a camera that I liked better than any in my price range ($500 or less) that shoots RAW, and is already on Apple's list -- a Canon G11. I want to get a good DSLR later when I can afford one, and then my G11 will make a superb and sturdy "pocketable" camera. The G11's flexible features are already helping me to learn not only about shooting RAW, but about photography in general. The pictures are gorgeous.
I'm using my new camera with Aperture 3, and it's great. I think iPhoto is good for many people, but for those like me who want to do more with their photos, and need a more sophisticated work flow - well, there's not much comparison between them for these purposes, even though they share so many features now (faces, places, et al).
    I also wrote:

Well, Apple got the EOS t2i raw converters into Aperture faster than I could get this post up. They were very, very quick. The more I learn, the more I see how many mainstream cameras Apple does support, and the more I appreciate the problem of supporting new cameras that Apple faces. But I still hope they keep facing it, and don't let up.
Clearly, there are always interesting cameras coming that may never be supported, and being able to handle RAW images outside Aperture may be some people's reasonable choice.
I came very close to buying several cameras that were unsupported or didn't shoot RAW at all. But I've already seen RAW save my pictures. I accidentally took a group of important photos with no white balance at all (they're pale green). Fortunately, I was shooting JPEG+RAW. The JPEGs are nearly useless, but the RAW photo's adjusted quickly to "just right".
Knowing I can make certain non-destructive edits with RAW files is very liberating. I know if I make a mistake or want to change the image, that there are a few vital parameters I can adjust.
As to my camera selection: I chose the G11 because so many people with real photography experience seemed to respect it so much. In the end, I decided that good image quality was more important than pixels, zoom range, etc. Since I decided to wait to get a DSLR, I wanted a versatile point-and-shoot with a retractable lens that would become, as I said, my second, more portable camera later.
I've experienced the companion Canon software now as well. It's fine, but I like organizing my photos in Aperture better. I especially need stacks, and being able to make major adjustments where I keep my photos is vital to me.
Now, Aperture is working well for me, and the experience is turning out far better than I had expected. I'm now loading directly into Aperture instead of referencing iPhoto, I'm handling raw images from a new, more modern camera, and I'm finally feeling settled and comfortable with my image workflow.

  • Opening a RAW file from Fuji Camera

I have a Fuji Finepix S200EXR camera and I cannot open RAW files in either Elements 8 or 9. Any suggestions?

Adobe has not yet found a way of supporting the mosaic produced by this type of sensor. We are told work is in progress at Adobe Labs but no anticipated date as yet.
A CCD-RAW data Conversion Function Updater is now available from the FujiFilm web site, which supports your camera on Windows or Mac.

  • Raw Support for the just Announced EXR Cams+S200EXR

I know this had been brought up before, but please support the raw format for the Fuji EXR cams! We will have 4 EXR raw capable camera soon(S200EXR,HS20, F500, and F550)!!

The Stylus 1 has been supported since ACR 8.3 according to Adobe’s supported cameras list:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

  • F550EXR, HS20, S200EXR need ACR support

I use an all Adobe work flow for my dSLRs and compacts ... I load every raw file and every jpeg into ACR, perform whatever conversion or tweaking I need, and then go straight into photoshop with no intermediate files, which I consider evil.
I intend to preorder the F550EXR as soon as possible, and this compact will be Fuji's first in a number of years to support the RAF format. Of course, with an EXR sensor, there is complexity -- detection of sensor mode, blending with a curve if in DR mode, binning if in SN mode. But solving these issues gets two cameras immediately, as the HS20 shares the F550EXR's sensor and most of its firmware, according to the feature set. And the EXR features should be portable to the implementation for the S200EXR, thus killing the third bird with a slightly modified stone. (If it matters, the new cams would be a higher priority, since this new sensor should have more of a future.)
In my opinion, the Adobe workflows are the only in-memory end to end workflows available in a professional-grade tools on all platforms, thus making it a bit of a monopoly. I have certainly avoided all other tools specifically to use this excellent work flow (Bridge->ACR->Photoshop) for every image. While I feel that it is fair game to stomp other software tools, I'm not as comfortable with ACR support influencing camera purchasing decisions. It certainly has the potential to influence mine ... (and yes, I am aware that I can just shoot jpeg, but the whole point is to avoid Fuji's infamous sledge-hammer NR.)

There might be more to it than that.
    Consider...
A camera maker assumes, once you've bought into their line, that you will have to set up all their software to deal with the images from their camera.  For the sake of argument, assume we're talking about Canon and you've got their various apps, e.g., DPP, installed.  Time passes and you get used to using their software and develop a workflow around it.
Now:  What camera are you likely to buy next?  One that requires a whole new setup and learning process, or another one from their stable where you can continue to use their software just as you have been?
The last thing they want is for you to be using some integrating piece of software (e.g., Photoshop) that allows you to spread your money around to various other camera vendors freely.
It is to their advantage to try to lock you in to their brand only in every way they can.
There are lots of other areas where they do this - just try finding lenses and accessories that are compatible across camera vendors, for example.
As far as I know, some of the camera vendors have never published a specification describing what's in their raw files, and the fact that the files can be opened by Adobe software is a testament to the prowess of those who have reverse-engineered the formats!
It's a simple case of capitalism vs. what would make consumers' lives better.

  • CS4 : unable to print / stops printer / halts print job on Fuji Xerox c2255

    Morning,
This discussion posting may or may not have some relevance to my previous posting, CS4 : memory leak errors (?) in Os X console log
I am working on a clients workstation and they are having a few problems. Specific hardware and software details are at the bottom of this posting.
    THE PROBLEM
The problem is that I can not seem to print from CS4. The problem seems to be specifically Adobe CS4 related as I will explain below.
From the end user perspective, the CS4 suite appears to function normally with one exception - CS4 will not print. In the below example, I am referring to mainly Adobe Acrobat CS4 and InDesign CS4 as these are the programs that they use the most. The artist can still work with all the CS4 applications - opening new or existing indesign/acrobat documents, adding text, import, export, create pdfs, saving to same name or new name, etc... but they can't print out to a printer (Fuji Xerox c2255). For example, using InDesign, the artist can open an existing Indesign document and make changes to the Indesign document. She can save the document using the same name or a new name, but when she attempts to print the Indesign document, the document will not printed. If she saves the file as a pdf and using Acrobat to open the pdf and attempts to print the document, it will not print. BUT, if she uses preview to open the document and attempts to print, then it WILL print.
When attempting to print, the following happens,
    - in acrobat CS4 or Indesign CS4, choose 'Print'
    - choose A4 or A3 format
    - click print
The job processes and is set to the printer spool as per normal. About a couple of second later, after the processing is done, the Printer Queue starts jumping up and down in the dock. Open up the printer queue, shows the following message 'Printer has stopped'. The job is present in the printer queue list. Restart the Printer, and restart the job, and then about 5 seconds later, the message appears again, 'Printer has stopped'. This continues ad nauseum until the job is manually deleted from the queue. No print outs.
    PRINTER or PRINTER DRIVER
I have installed and uninstalled the printer driver half a dozen times. I have source the driver from different locations (US, Asia and Australia). In all three cases, the Fuji Xerox printer drivers look identical (I've opened them up in text edit). Every other application, on the Mac, appears to access the printer without any problems -Office 2008 ( Word, Excel), Preview, Text Edit, Text Wrangler, Mail, etc can all address the printer and print to the printer without any problems. Using any of these programmes, I can access all the functionality of the printer (A4 in Tray 1, A3 in Tray 2, Levels of the inks, etc) via the driver. When I installed the generic printer drive, I have no access to any of the Fuji Xerox Printer functionality. This leads me to think that the Fuji Xerox printer driver is not the problem.
Interestingly, using Apple's Preview, I can print any existing Acrobat documents without any problems - in either A4 or A3. However, if I attempt to print the SAME Acrobat document from Acrobat CS4, it will not print.
USE 'PRINTER DRIVER' option rather then choosing paper size.
I read in another posting, in the Adobe forum, of a similar problem with Duplex printing - if the the paper size is manually set (A3/A4) in the 'print document options', printers do not print duplex. The answer seemed to be instead of manually choosing the paper size (A4/A3), allow CS4 to determine the paper size. So, in the 'print document' dialog option, one should choose 'use printer driver' instead of specifying A3 or A4. An explanation suggested that the print engine refers to the printer driver to find out what options are availible and then CS4 chooses what size it wants to send the print job to. Forcing CS4 seems to stop duplex printing from working.
I will look at this suggestion next week when I return to the site.
    NETWORK PRINTER
The fuji Xerox c2255 is a network printer. Both Mac Pro and printer have a fixed IPs. I have eliminated the network as a problem, by running a network cable directly from Mac Pro ethernet port to Fuji Xerox ethernet port. I can ping the printer directly from the Mac Pro; I can see the printer from the Mac. I can print directly to the printer from the Mac, using Text edit or any other application EXCEPT CS4. CS4 will not print.
CLIENT HAS UPDATED ALL DOCUMENT FILES TO CS4 via INX
I have since been informed that a staff member had (recently) updated all the documents to CS4 via INX. I wonder if this anything to do with the problems ? Unfortunately, I don't have any 'old' documents to test with. I wonder if the conversion process had 'modified' the pdf wrapper in some way ? I have tested this in the following manner - I opened a 'updated' CS4 document in Indesign CS4. If I try to print straight out of CS4, then the above problem occurs (i.e. the document will not print as descibed above). BUT, if I copy all the contents - from the updated CS4 document - and paste the contents directly into a NEWLY created document, then it WILL print.
    UNINSTALL CS4 AND REINSTALL
Yes, this has been done three times so far with no further improvement. Each time, the steps that I have taken are as follows,
    - repaired disk permissions.
    - fsck in single user mode to confirm directory structure is fine
    - uninstalled CS4 using the uninstaller.
    - manually searched and remove any file, folder, cache that has the word 'adobe' in it from both User account, System Library and Library.
    - used Onyx manual and automatic functions to clear all logs, font caches, spotlight databases, kernal caches, etc, etc
    - ZapRAM Cmmd-Option-P-R (wait for start up chime 3 times)
    - fsck again
    - start Mac in Safe mode
    - reinstalled CS4 from media (see version above)
    - Following reinstallation, restarted mac as per normal.
    - run Disk Utility to repair permissions
I have tried printing an existing CS4 document file with a freshly installed CS4 suite - directly from the media file (will not print). And I have attempted to print a CS4 document file after applying all updates (will not print) Neither approach improves the situation.
    USE CS3
This has been considered but as the client(s) have already done the conversion of all their documents to the CS4 format using INX, then they are really committed to working with CS4. What I am attempting to do at this time is to find out WHY CS4 is doing what it is doing, and if there is a fix to this problem. If there is no fix, then I know I should use a different approach.
I am posting this message in the hope that someone may have already come across this problem or perhaps may be able to spot something that I have overlooked. This problem has really got me stumped - I have had experience with Adobes products since Photoshop 1.0 (1990s / Pre-CS1) but never had a problem as annoying or time consuming as this one - this is a dousy.  I have lodged a case number with Adobe Technical Support.
Thank you for taking the time to read this longish posting. I would be most grateful for any feedback solutions, or suggestions.
    Have a wonderful weekend.
    Thank you,
    Fred

  • Can I upload RAW photos from Fuji HS 30 to iPhoto 9.4.1? OS 10.8.2

I just bought a new camera (Fuji HS 30) that shoots in RAW mode. I tried to upload the pictures, and the iPhoto I had wouldn't accept them. I upgraded my OS system to 10.8.2 and have purchased iPhoto 9.4.1. It has been downloadedand installed, but my library shows no photos. I'm currently working on that issue with Apple support. Once I get my library back, will I be able to upload my several hundred photos shot in RAW, or have I wasted my time, and money on a new camera, and upgrading my OS and ipPhoto? I have a MacBook Pro.

This Apple document indicates that your camera is not yet supported: OS X Mountain Lion: Supported digital camera RAW formats. You'll have to wait until Apple gets around to including support in the system.
In the meantime if you can find an application that can conver the Fuji raw files to .dng (digital negative format) files iPhoto will be able to use those.

  • Print quality problems on Fuji Xerox printers when printing from ArchiCAD and/or Preview.

    Hello,
We experience major print quality problems when printing directly from Graphisoft's ArchiCAD, Nemetscheks Vectorworks and from Apple's Preview.
Basically we see various artefacts on our printed drawings, e.g. line thicknesses change and hatched patterns / fills are reproduced with patches where the lineweights and clours change completely... which is not acceptable.
This affects the following Fuji Xerox printer models on both 10.6.x and 10.7.x with the latest FJX PPDs:
    ApeosPort C5540I
    Xerox LF6605 MF
The workarounds for us are to either print PDFs from Adobe Acrobat Reader or via the rather dated Accxess Tools, besides that we prefer at times to print directly from a given Software it is also not always possible to generate a PDF and print it from Acrobat Reader... especially since the latest Adobe Reader update to its print dialogue makes printing from it extremely tedious - in fact we are considering going back to 9.5.2
Obviously, we have approached FJX Tech Support and are awaiting a reply - however we are disappointed that this is happening on relatively new equipment and wonder if anybody else has already found a solution.

The symptoms you mention could be related to the FJX engine and Acrobat is masking this fault. To test, you can create a Postscript file from the print dialog of ArchiCAD or VectorWorks and then download this to the Apeos RIP. If this produces the same result as when using the printer driver from the applications, then it would indicate that the engine is not capable of handling the data being sent to it from these applications.

  • Why no RAW support for the Fuji FinePix HS10?

This camera is well over a year old.  Why is there no support for the RAW file?

It is definitely not only Fuji. I used a Panasonic Lumix FX-150 before that has been supported by Adobe Camera Raw for quite some time now. I replaced that camera by a Lumix LX5, but I see that the FX-150 is still not supported by Apple Camera Raw and probably never will.
If you want wide range RAW support, use Lightroom. (Not to say that Aperture doesn't have its strengths, e.g. support for geocoding.)

  • Why no RAW support for Fuji X10?

The Fuji X10 has been on the market for almost a year now and there still is no RAW support for it in Aperture. Why?

Only Apple can asnwer the "Why?" questions, I'm afriad.
Aperture menu -> Provide Aperture Feedback and let them know you want it.

Can anyone help?  When I add .Mov MPEG video file captured with a Fuji camera (1920x1080 image, 29.97 frame rate, 48000Hz stereo compressed sound), although the video is smooth/good, the sound gets added but its just a clipped noise rather than the actual sound track.  The video & sound play fine on all other software on my PC, even if just play the file using Adobe Organizer, BUT Premier will not import it correctly....help...

    Please give us more information.
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on? When you view and listen to the playback of the Timeline video in the Edit area monitor, are you working with the rendered or unrendered Timeline?
What is the model/settings of the Fuji camera that recording the video? The settings seem to be for 1080 but is that 1080i or 1080p?
Are you saying that your video has a .mov file extension? What is the significance of MPEG video - I am thinking in terms of video compression? AVCHD, H.264, MotionJPEG, or other for video compression?

  • How to open Fuji X-1E  RAF files in CS5? I have Camera RAW 6.7

According to what I've seen on the Adobe website Camera RAW 6.7 in CS5 should be able to open the files from my Fuji but it isn't. Photoshop says all the components are up to date.
Any ideas how I can get it to work?
    Thanks
    Tony

I assume you're referring to the Fuji X-E1 camera.
You will never be able to open those files directly in CS5.  There will be no more updates for that version.
That camera was first supported in ACR 7.2, which needs at least Photoshop CS6 to run.
Look for, download, install and run the free, standalone Adobe DNG Converter 8.5 on the folder(s) containing your raw NEF files to convert them to raw DNGs which you can run on your current version of Photoshop.

  • Camera Profile Impossible to select for Fuji X100 pictures

    Hi All,
I hope someone can help me with this.
I am experimenting with a new Fuji X100. I imported my images (raw) with no issues and created a custom DNG profile with X-Rite colorchecker.
When I open a Nikon NEF file I can eventually select this X100 profile in the Camera Calibration section, but if I try to select this profile for the X100 (the one it is supposed to be used with) no way. The only profile shown is the Adobe Standard.
Any idea why? Any suggestion on how to better calibrate the RAF fujy raw file that I think are imported really badly?
    Thank you!
    Cristiano

    Hi Jim,
thank you for your answer. I understand what you mean.
To explain better what is happening to me: I have created a color profile using the export/colorchecker passport. I used a RAF fuji raw file (in which I pictured the colorchecker) and I then exported the file creating a DNG calibrated profile.
So this color profile is now available among all others (my camera portrait, landscape vivid etc...together with the Adobe standard ones). But they are only displayed (and thus selectable) if I am editing a Nikon Nef (and I assume any other raw) file.
If I am editing a Fuji Raw file I cannot even see the just created colorchecker profile developed on the fuji file (and correctly I am not expecting to see the Nikon ones).
Is something elese I am missing?
    Thanks!
    Cristiano
