Fujifilm X- t1 camera

Does Photoshop Elements 12 support Raw for the Fujifilm X-t1 camera

it should but you can always download a full trial version of pse12 and try it out.  you also get instaNt updates for any new cameras that might have been released recently.  To get updates for the product, you need to go to:
Help >> Updates
PSE12 is the latest version and it gets updates every 6 to 8 weeks or there about.
Good luck.

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Support of RAF-files - Fujifilm FinePic S5000 camera

    Hello
I had got some images from one that have a Fujifilm FinePic S5000 camera. If I imports the RAF-files (Fujifilm RAW-format) into Capture but it seems that Capture doesn't support RAF-files. Will Capture support RAF-files in the future?
I have tried to convert the RAF-files to DNG-fles by using Adobe DNG converter but the result is the same. I believed that Adobe DNG converter could convert all known RAW-format to DNG also RAF-files from a Fujifilm FinePic S5000 camera.

Per an interview with a spokeswoman from Fuji, they have indeed provided Apple (and Adobe as well) all the needed technical information in order to support the RAW files (i.e. algorithmic information created by Fuji for the non-standar filter array, etc etc). Please don't spread any more misinformation about it, it's already been flamed to death on all the online camera forums. You can still choose to 'blame' whomever you wish about why it's still not supported by Apple, but you can no longer reasonably assert that Fuji hasn't done their part by providing them what they need. Nondisclosure agreements were signed as well.
Having said that, I find it ridiculous at this point that it's not supported, for several reasons, some being the seemingly similar Fuji users who also use Aperture as well as the opportunity here for Apple to take some market from Adobe (who as of yet are not producing very great output files for Fuji X-trans). Apple was/has been at a disadvantage to Adobe for a long while now, and being an outsider, I presumed Apple would want to take advantage of this (and any similar) opportunity to grab some share from Adobe. I was well wrong, and it seems that other lesser-known-used companies are now doing just that.
Well good on them. I for one will be looking at any/all (new)comers and will certainly be going with the best of those. Sorry Apple, you lost another one. There was a real competition, for me, btwn Aperture and LR4 up till this point. You'd have to pull a rabbit out of your hat to keep my Aperture biz.

  • Convert Fujifilm Classic Chrome camera calibration for X-T1 to X-E2?

I have an X-E2 that has the Classic Chrome calibration profile with the new Fuji 3.0.0 firmware.
However, Lightroom 5.7 doesn't recognize that change, even though it does activate for the X-T1.
Is there a way to extract or convert the X-T1's profile and adapt or rename it to work with the X-E2 when working with RAW RAF files, rather than with the in-camera JPGs?
Alternately, is Adobe planning on enabling the Classic Chrome profile for the X-E2 since it has that profile in the new firmware?
    Thanks.

The latest version of LR which is 5.7.1 was released Dec 15th with functionality finalized sometime before then.  The X-E2 firmware that includes Classic Chrome was released Dec 18th.  These camera-match profiles that simulate Fuji shooting modes, while not supplied as external .dcp files like other Adobe camera-match profiles, are still created by Adobe and coded into the software, and there's no way LR could duplicate something that Fuji released several days later.
The good news, or at least hope for LR users, is that Adobe's Camera Raw 8.8 plug-in for Photoshop does include the Classic Chrome profile as a selection for the X-E2, so Adobe has figured out how to do it:
The bad news is that there hasn't been a LR 5.8 to match the ACR 8.8 plug-in.
I believe this is because Adobe never intended to have even an ACR 8.8 but released it so people with the new E-M5 Mark II could work with their camera's raw files.  Getting a plug-in release ready is much easier than an entire LR program so I doubt Adobe will release a LR 5.8 and will go straight to LR 6, unless LR 6 is delayed for several more months.  From what I'd guess, there isn't a LR 5.x team that is independent of the LR 6 team, so if Adobe stopped work on LR 6 to push out a LR 5.8, that would delay LR 6 even further into the future, and there may be some hard date, like an international photography conference, somewhere, that Adobe wants to announce LR 6 at so they can't afford to delay it longer than it already has been.
Photoshop is paid for on a monthly basis, now, so announcements about what's new aren't as important as LR, which is still available as a standalone upgrade, so adding new features will generate more revenue for Adobe and the time to announce those new features will generate more buzz at some times of year than others.

  • Does any1 have a Fujifilm F500 EXR Camera?

I just bought this camera but the latest driver I can find is for OS X 10.6...and I'm not very happy. Wondering if anyone else is using this and if so, how do you get around it?
    Thanks much!

You don't need to use any of the software that came with the camera if it isn't compatible with Lion. (Have you verifed that it isn't?) And you don't need to connect the camera to your Mac. Just remove the SD card from it and insert it into the computer's card reader to transfer the pictures.

  • Camera connector problem

I have a Fujifilm F10 digital camera, iPod 4G with click wheel and camera connector. I have once successfully managed to transfer 6 photos from the camera to iPod with the connector. I just plugged them together and it did it automatically. I have now taken a lot more pictures and a few short videos. I tried the same again and it keeps saying "Card not inserted". I have checked the card is working in the camera and that all of the leads are tightly together. Any idea what the problem might be? Could it be due to the video clips?

Make sure the 30 pin dock connector on the USB adaptor isn't damaged or dirty, if that isn't the case, plug the camera in, and then the adaptor. If that doesn't seem to work the adaptor may be defective.

  • Poor raw conversion from Fujifilm X100 .raf format in Lightroom 3 and 4

I'm seeing very poor results when doing raw conversion from Fujifilm X100 .raf format. Who can I contact about this? Is there anything I can do?
See below for what is supposed to be a white curtain, lit by stage lighting. It results in a blown out blue channel, serious loss of detail, and very ugly gradient.
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on LEFT  --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on RIGHT)
    And for more detail:
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on TOP  --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on BOTTOM)
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on LEFT --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on RIGHT)

The blue light is so intense that it is, or almost is, saturating the sensor.
The camera’s built-in raw conversion handles this by shifting the color to cyan—clipping the blue and allowing the green to contribute more.  I doubt there was cyan lighting in the scene, only blue.
Adobe does not shift the hue, but this makes the blue seem over saturated.  Adobe’s conversion may be more colorimetrically correct, but less pleasing in this case of intense lighting that the sensor cannot accurately record.
It is a difference in camera profile used between the camera and Adobe.  Since Adobe does not supply camera-match profiles for much more than Nikon and Canon cameras, you’re not going to be able to fix things other than managing the over-saturation using HSL or WB or other things like lower-vibrance, higher saturation.
You could try making your own camera profile using an X-Rite Color-Checker Passport or the color-checker and the Adobe DNG Profile Editor:

  • Fujifilm raw in ACR 6.6 opening multiple images

I have a fujifilm hx20 16Mp camera that produces raw images in fuji's .raf format.  The most recent version of Adobe's loader loads these images and they open correctly in Camera Raw at 4308 x 3456 pixels, 240 pp, 15.9 Mpix if I open just one image at a time.  Problem is, when I want to open 3 images for HDR processing, two of the three have a different pixel size in ACR -- 4096 x  3072, 240,12.6 Mpix.  HDR pro quits with a message saying that the images must all be the same size.  If I go back to Bridge and open the images one at a time, they're all the same (correct) size.
The same results if I open just two at a time.
System is a Mac Pro, OS 10.7.3, Bridge 4.05.11, ACR 6.6, 10 GB main memory, 3.6 TB disk.
Seems like a software glitch to me.

thanks for the reply. However, my workflow requires me to open the Files in PhotoMechanic and then open in Photoshop.  I currently am not going through Bridge first.  This works fine in OS X.  Any fix for Windows?

  • Multiple photo issues on Macbook that seem to revolve around iPhoto

Hi I'm having numerous problems when dealing with photo on my laptop and was wondering if anyone might know why.
Here's some info about my software, Max OS X version 10.5.8, Safari 5.0.1, iPhoto '08 version 7.1.5., and my Java software is up to date. I also just ran a software update before posting this and everything is up to date except the MacBook EFI Firmware Update, I haven't been able to complete that update, it fails every time.
So A while back I had a problem with my Macbook where it would not start up, so I took it to a Genius Bar and they archived my files and reinstalled my software and that fixed the problem. When I got back into my Mac I noticed all the software was in the original version so I had to updated everything which I did. However I started having problems when I did stuff with photos.
    1. The first problem was uploading pictures to facebook. It was working (not perfectly because it could only handle me uploading 20 pictures or so at a time but still working) then it stopped. I deleted the facebook plugin in on my computer (like facebook told me finder>library>internet plugins>facebook plugin) so I could try to install it again hoping that would fix it, but I haven't been able to install it again because facebook never prompts me to install it again, and facebook still lets me go in and select photos to upload but it can't upload them. If I'm trying to upload photos either through the internet or exporting them to fb through iPhoto, it will let me select the photos but as soon as I click upload (or export) the internet or iPhoto will freeze then quit and I will get a notice telling me it failed because something went wrong with the plugin (screencap: http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg227/mandyb7/Picture22.png). I still no longer have the facebook plugin or the facebook iPhoto exporter app installed on my computer. However now when I try to upload photos to facebook it still doesn't work but the Safari doesn't quit and I get a different message (screencap: http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg227/mandyb7/Picture133.png)
It has been about a month now that I cannot add photos to albums on facebook. However the odd time I have been able to post a photo on my wall, in a message and upload a new profile picture. I can also upload photos to other places on the internet like photobucket, with the exception of twitter. With twitter I cannot upload a new profile picture, it tries and then gives me a page saying twitter is over capacity but apparently that has been happening to a lot of people so I'm not sure if it's related to my computer problems.
    2. I cannot import photos from the internet to iPhoto. How I usually do it is ctrl + click and then selecting import to iPhoto and then iPhoto will open but I will get two notices telling me what went wrong.
    Screencap of Safari notice: http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg227/mandyb7/Picture136-2.png
    Screencap of iPhoto notice: http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg227/mandyb7/Picture137.png
However I can still save photos from the internet onto my Macbook through a different way like adding them to "my downloads".
    3. iPhoto cannot export photos to another folder in places like documents and pictures. This is a screencap of when it fails: http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg227/mandyb7/Picture135-1.png - it doesn't go any further than this point so I always click cancel. However if I try to export the same photo to the same place it will tell me that the image is already there and asks me if I want to replace it.
    4. I have a FujiFilm FinePix Z20fd camera with FinePixViewer software on my Macbook where I upload the pictures from my camera to. However since my computer was fixed at the genius bar I haven't been able to import any photos from my camera into the FinePixViewer, the program won't even open when I connect my camera to my laptop. In fact none of my photos that I used to have in FinePixViewer are displayed in there anymore, this is what my FinePixViewer now looks like: http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg227/mandyb7/Picture138.png
However the photos and videos are still in their folders in my documents, so I can still access them and haven't lost them. And I can import the photos from my camera into iPhoto.
(I was thinking of uninstalling the FinePixViewer software and then reinstalling it to see if that would help. That wouldn't affect the photos that are still in my documents that I originally imported through FinePixViewer would it?)
    5. And the lasted problem I have discovered is that iMovie cannot generate thumbnails of iPhoto videos.
Does anyone know what could be causing these problem or how I can try to solve any of them? Should I take my Macbook back to the genius bar? Thanks!

    3. iPhoto cannot export photos to another folder in places like documents and pictures.
I think this is a bug in the design of the export feature. The problem might be that iPhoto initially sweeps up all your photos from various folders, and often they have similar names like 01.jpg or Mom.jpg, etc. then when it exports, all files are copied into a single folder, and it doesn't have the ability to rename files such as Mom-2.jpg. When I encountered this problem I would get about 90% of the photos exported and then a similar message.
There is then no way to tell what photos were not exported. You could do a sequential export but all the file names might be replaced with sequential numbering.
A possible workaround is to Ctrl click or right click the iPhoto library icon and select the third option: Show Package Contents. If you drag the Originals and Modified folders out of the package to another location, or to an external drive, it should move or copy all your pictures with their individual filenames but in inconvenient multiple dated folders.
It might be a good idea to backup the iPhoto library first as this might disable the iPhoto database, and in case you don't like the results. Also you should first move the old iPhoto library icon to its final storage place if you don't want to trash it, such as into a folder named old iPhoto library, becasue it won't move after pulling its files. If you want to keep using iPhoto as it is, you should just copy the above two folders and replace the originals where you found them.

  • Looking for a codec to use AVI files on Windows 8

Thanks for you assistance. My new computer using Windows 8 doesn't take a shine to me using AVI files in Adobe Premiere. Prompts me to install a codec. Pretty sure there are a ga'zillion out there. Any suggestions on which is right? And one step further, how to properly install? Best regards!

@ATRomano - First, thank you for your reply. I've been trying to correct this problem since purchasing the new computer in Dec, and this is effecting my livelihood.
    Here's a what I know.
Downloaded Adobe Premiere 11 from Amazon in June 2013 onto my Sony Vaio laptop running on Windows 7. the AVI files from my Fujifilm Finepix 4500S camera were accepted. The AVI files are titled DSCF0217.AVI. for example.
Computer crashed on T-day, so forced to buy new one. Also a Vaio, this time running on Windows 8. AVI files from my Fugifilm Finepix 4500S no longer work. Says I need a codec.
Went to Best Buy. They spent two hours on it, nothing. There solution since the AVI files worked on Windows Media player, was to start uses Sony Vaio's editing software the comes with the computer, really?
Then all of a sudden, the program is gone. Completely removed from my computer. All the projects and video/pics in elements included.
So last night I redownloaded the software from Amazon. Thank goodness they kept the serial number.
Surprisingly, the projects are still there, though when I open them most of the files in the timeline are AVI and appear as "Media Offline."
When I try to add new AVI files to the time I receive this error message - "This type of file is not supports, or requires a codec to be installed."

  • Album v2.0 upgrade

I have v2.0 running OK under Windows 7.
Lately I've experienced problems with image files created by a Fujifilm Finepix F550EXR camera.
Sometimes the import process falls over and has to be repeated to complete the import of eg 100 files. On one occasion when I had it set to delete from the camera I lost a lot of files. I don't do that any more!
The other issue is that Album cannot edit the files, although Elements seems to have no problem.
On the assumption that it's something to do with the size of the files, I was thinking of upgrading Album to a newer version.
I'm concerned though that my exisitng Catalogues, tags and so on may not be upwardly compatible.
    Can somoeone advise please?

Are you referring to Adobe Photoshop Album v.2? (no relation to Photoshop)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Photoshop_Album
That software was discontinued several years ago.
Adobe now recommends Photoshop Elements 12 - provided your system meets the hardware and operating system specs required to run it.

  • Importing RAW

I have a new Fujifilm XT-1 camera. I can't import RAW images into iPhoto. Does anyone know if there's a list of supported cameras?

For OS X 10.7.5 see this list: OS X Lion: Supported digital camera RAW formats
For OS X 10.9 or later this:  OS X Mavericks: Supported digital camera RAW formats
Your camera is supported by "Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 5.04*"
That requires iPhoto version 9.4.3 or later
    Consider to upgrade to Yosemite.

  • Request for S200/S205EXR Raw support

Adobe folks, one of your own mentioned awhile back that work was in progress for Lightroom to support the RAW files from the Fujifilm S200/S205EXR camera.  This was some time ago.  Will this support still come or is there a change in plans?
    Thank you.

There could be technical problems.  Lr needs a minimum amount of access to raw image data to work, and some vendors lock some key information away and don't provide an easy way to get at that legally.
A question worth investigating is if anyone else supports raw images form these cameras to any great extent.
    [Edit]
Well, I did a little research myself, and it appears that the raw support for this camera is very vendor specific.  Apparently, the sensor technology is rather unique, and most people have best success with the vendor software.  Other convertors are (apparently) not all that successful at getting at and providing access to the full range of raw image data.  Whether this inability is a result of vendor lock-in is unknown, but my money is on Fuji not really letting their customers have full access to the image data.
This situation is exactly why a niche company like Fuji (oh, how the mighty have fallen) should consider embracing DNG.
