Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo 3000-series

I'm thinking about replacing my Asus EEE with a laptop which is "more capable". I was going to buy Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pa 3515 when I read that Ati radeon HD3200 is now supported in catalyst. Still wanting to know if anyone in the arch community has these new stylish black and white laptops from Fujitsu-Siemens.
Here are the specs for 3515:
    * AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology RM-70
    * Windows® Vista® Home Premium (Arch is going to replace this, ofcourse)
    * 2048 Mt DDR II 667 Mhz
    * 250 Gt SATA
    * Super Multi Dual Layer DVD-drive
    * 15,4" TFT WXGA Brilliant View
    * WLAN
    * Webcam and mic
So does anyone know how well these devices are supported. Thanks for replies in advance

Okay here is the listing from lsmod when run in ubuntu:
Is anyone willing to tell me what I'm looking for. What should i configure in order to make my arch install boot without acpi=off?

  • [Solved] No sound after reboot [FUJITSU-SIEMENS Amilo Pro V3205]

I have an Intel 82801G sound card, which works fine with alsa/snd-hda-intel after I configure it with alsaconf. But after reboot alsa doesn't work until I reconfigure it again.
Here stays, that it should work properly, but it doesn't.
    Please, could somebody help me?
Edited: Or could somebody tell me how should I step by step install it? (I tried arch wiki)

  • [Solved]Synaptics Touchpad not working at all on Fujitsu Siemens UH552

    Hi,
I have just installed Arch on my Fujitsu Siemens UH552 laptop. Everything works except for the touchpad which seems to get loaded by Xorg, but when in X it doesn't work. I have tried both using /dev/input/event* and /dev/input/mouse0 as device paths, neither works.
    xf86-input-evdev and xf86-input-synaptics are installed.
I have tried running both with the default 10-evdev.conf, with 10-synaptics.conf, with both, and without both.
    TLDR SOLUTION: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 3#p1189603
    My current 10-synaptics.conf:
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "Touchpad Catchall"
    MatchIsTouchpad "on"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "synaptics"
    Option "TapButton1" "1"
    Option "TapButton2" "2"
    Option "TapButton3" "3"

psmouse serio1: bad data from KBC - timeout
Last edited by flako (2012-11-08 09:44:59)

I have tried doing that with both linux mint, and now fedora live usb. Neither one loads the touchpad correctly.  So yeah, our problems weren't really related
Anyway, I tried looking into the
psmouse serio1: bad data from KBC - timeout
messages, and tried running psmouse proto (defined in /etc/modprobe.conf/psmouse.conf) as both raw and imps as per https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s … ion/206950 Unfortunately, that didn't solve anything. Using the raw setting meant that the touchpad wasn't loaded at all (as in not appearing in the Xorg.log at all).
The laptop is quite new, but at the same time what i figured from the touchpad vendor & product ID, the touchpad itself isn't. So it should technically work. Before installing arch i booted into windows to see if everything worked, and found no issues with the touchpad. So I have ruled out any hardware errors. Maybe its just the Fn-key that doesn't work yet in Linux? But that doesn't explain the "psmouse serio1: bad data from KBC - timeout" Any pointers to where I should look/ what commands I should run to delve deeper into this issue?

  • Fujitsu-Siemens P24W-3 LCD flickers

    Hi guys,
i connected a Fujitsu-Siemens P24W-3 LCD (1920 x 1200, 60 Hz) to my new MacBook Air using the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and the display flickers.
If I connect it with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter it does not flicker but the image looks terrible, washed out.
If I connect the display to the DVI port of my old MacBook Pro, it does not flicker.
Therefore, I think the issue is with the adaptor, which should support the specs of 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz.
I tried another Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter: the image flickers, albeit less.
Help? Shall I try to return the adapter?

Do you think it will help if I buy a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you have the cable, just connect it to both and the desktop will show up on the external display. Then, you can select different modes, changing arrangement in System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement, or using shortcuts > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5019

  • Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series

I have an acer aspire one that has been trucking along for nearly 6 years now with almost continuous use (about a year of non-use time in there, but that's it). I use it primarily for taking notes in class and such, but it also sees a lot of programming and other use since I take it to campus each day and also on trips. In this time, I have lost almost all the feet and now screws are slowly disappearing. It also has started to have some overheating issues when the heatsink seems to shift positions slightly (it shuts off within 90 seconds when this happens). In addition, I find myself wishing quite often that it could do things like stream video properly (without jittering) and compile the kernel (it takes FOREVER on that tiny hyper threaded single core atom processor). So, I've been looking at a replacement that can get similar battery life, has a similarly sized screen (preferably touch as well because I think that would be great fun to use), more than 1Gb of RAM (I can have about 7 tabs open on chrome and then it starts having troubles since I have swap disabled), and a better processor. My most basic requirement, however, is that the laptop be able to run arch.
I've been looking at the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series since it seems to have the best battery life of my various 11.6" options out there. The processor is a dual core Celeron which sounds old and antiquated to me, even though I believe its based on Haswell (not sure there). It also has 4Gb RAM and 500Gb hard drive. Another option, for $50 more, is a pentium processor which sounds even more antiquated, but is still based on Haswell.

My question is this: Has anyone managed to get arch working on one of these things? I also imagine that the most new-fangled component would be the touchscreen, so does anyone know the general support of those for linux?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi,
Does the WPF application develop by yourself? Please make sure that your application has no dependency issue, if your WPF application lacks of some libs or .Net framework, it cannot execute. Do you get any error message when you try to run it?

  • Flickering problem on screen - 3000 series N200 laptop

    Hello!
I have a 3000 series N200 laptop (0769 type) for 3 years. Approximately 3 months ago, there was a screen problem that the screen had white vertical gridlines. Service replaced the chipset of the graphical card.
Yesterday, a flickering problem has been appeared. I updated bios and display drivers from below link.
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?
Could not get a solve with those updates. Then, I dismounted the front cover of screen. Re-assembled the LVDS FFC cable of the LCD display a couple of times, problem continued. Then, re-assembled the inverter cables. It also did not provide a solution.
    >See the problem photo (1.jpg) at below link.

    Please advise about this matter.
    Thanks.

Hello suguz and welcome to community,
As you have already updated the video driver and BIOS then you can check with adjusting the monitor refresh rate to 60Hrz.
Kindly check the same issue in BIOS mode and if issue continues then it might fault with Lcd display.
    Best Regards,
    Tanuj

  • DC jacks; are they compatible with all 3000 series

I would like to know if all the DC power jacks are the same or compatible for all the lenovo 3000 series notebooks?
I have a lenovo 3000 C100 notebook, and the problem that I am experiencing is that the unit dose not power up when
the power button is press. here's the rundown of the problem; when I plug the power cord onto the laptop the indicator
ligth for the power is on, but when I press the power button to on, the power indicator turns off and the laptop does not
turn on at all, the only time the power indicator turns on is when I disconnect the power cord from the laptop and plug it
back on. I also try it with the battery without the AC cord, the indictor lights for both power and battery is on, but when the
the power button is pressed both indicator lights will flash (one at a time ) for at least 2 seconds and does not come back
on at all and the laptop still does not power up at all. I have also tested the unit with another different battery and AC power
cord from a same working 3000 C100, still the same issues. so I figure that it has to be the power DC jack, check lenovo
website, but found none for the C100. so I want to know if other DC jack from let's say the T4 or T60, Thinkpad can be use
as replacement part for my unit. my laptop is only a year and a half old. I would be very gratefull for any kind of help.
    Thanks

there are not many motherboard for Lenovo 3000 laptops on sale on the web, the only place where you can get it, is through Lenovo parts service... i would suggest you sell your laptop for parts and then get a new laptop, it would be probably be more economical that way then getting a new motherboard through Lenovo.

  • Time Capsule WiFi disconnects when a Fujitsu Siemen Laptop with b/g network

Time Capsule WiFi disconnects when a Windows Vista based Laptop with "b/g" network connects. When i use Macbook with "n" Network.
Surprising that TC and MacBook both from Apple can't stay connected when Fujitsu Siemens Laptop joins through WiFi.
I use a DSL Modem (Speed 1 Mbps) connected thru ethernet to Time Capsule on Bridge Mode.

Yes, n is better, but if you have it running on b/g/n (since you have to with your b/g only notebooks) the n is inactive. Kind of a waste. Others have resorted to adding another wireless router which one set to b/g/n and the other n-only.

  • Migrating from SIEMENS HIPATH 3000 to a CISCO VOIP Solution

We've got a SIEMENS HIPATH 3000 PBX system with 15 to 20 individual telephone lines coming in from the telecom operator into the FSO card of the PBX
We are planning to migrate to CISCO Call Manager and are also implementing an 3845 Router
I would like to know if there is an interface on the router into which these 20 RJ11 phone lines go or is there another option
How do I go about it ?

Thanks pk, I knew of the FXO Cards. However I do not think there is any FXO card that allows for 20 RJ11 individual phone lines
Because all the cards available at the link you sent me are all 2, 4 or max 8 ports
    VIC-2FXO 2 FXO
    VIC-2FXO-EU 2 FXO
    VIC-2FXO-M1 2 FXO
    VIC-2FXO-M2 2 FXO
    VIC-2FXO-M3 2 FXO
    VIC-4FXO-M1 4 FXO
    VIC2-2FXO 2 FXO
    VIC2-4FXO 4 FXO
    MRP3-8FXOM1 8 FXO
Do you have the product number of any FXO card that has 20 FXO ports for 20 RJ11 phone lines ?

  • SecureCopy & 3000-series Concentrator...

I have a requirement to have an open-source configuration management solution log into my concentrator & download its config for backup / version control purposes. Its name is "RANCID".
I've enabled SSH, and I can log into the Private Interface with PuTTY just fine. When I use WinSCP 4.04, I have a problem. I authenticate just fine, but then the connection is dropped after 30 seconds. WinSCP tells me, "Incompatable shell, BASH prefered...". The concentrator tells me that the "PShell" is shutting down.
question: Is this just an incompatability with WinSCP specifically? Do you think others would work? I know the 3000-series is old, and end-of-life. I'm using the next-to-latest build of OS for the Concentrator.

Try to adjust SA lifetime and the max connect time in VPN concentrator.
