Full ABAP Edition-Trial (with Web Dynpro for ABAP) Max DB data volume

I recently installed Full ABAP Edition-Trial (with Web Dynpro for ABAP)- SPS08.

as you can see, it's already 92% acquired ( just after installation)
Is it correct?
or it's better to add another volume?
The other question is
according to the license installation guide,
it sounds like we can delete the temp licese with SAP*.
so I did like that but i got the following message

installation.
That means the database should extend a further datavolume
automatically when the filling level gets over 90%.
In your case the database already added two more datavolumes. The installation only creates one.

Normally, the files related to sap system are located to under /usr/sap/ ....
but this time, i can see them under C:/SAP/<SID>
so from now ( of from SAP NW2004s SPS08), do you change the structure of file location ?
or it's just for Sneak Preview ABAP Edition SPS08?

I am trying to complete this and looks like this tutorial in not complete.Anybody can help me in completing this until we get a preview of adobe form?

Here is where I am stuck.
Wrote this code in ONACTIONSEARCH.I am getting my entries in internal table ISFLIGHT.
but unable to bind it to adobe form and show in the form.
* SELECT statement
 clear isflight. refresh isflight.
 select * into corresponding fields of table isflight from sflight
 where carrid = ls_data_selections.
* navigate from <CONTEXT> to <ADOBE_DATA> via lead selection
lo_nd_adobe_data = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_adobe_data ).
* navigate from <ADOBE_DATA> to <SFLIGHT> via lead selection
lo_nd_sflight = lo_nd_adobe_data->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_sflight ).
lo_nd_sflight->bind_table( new_items = isflight set_initial_elements = abap_true ).
Error is Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
FYI.. I just dragged and dropped 2 elements from DATA to Adobe form.what are the other changes do i need to do in form gui elements so that it shows the internal table contents?

Does anyone know how to call a web service thru XI from Web Dynpro ABAP. The web service will call an RFC and bring back some data.
Some guidelines on how to achieve this will be very much appreciated.

Hi Kunal,
Do you want to use XI at the runtime of the service ? Usually for a synchronous call, XI is used only at the design time to design the message interface. Using this message interface the proxy class in ur ABAP system can be generated. In the interface method of your proxy class you can call your RFC. Finally generate a webservice out of this proxy class via SPROXY tsn.
Get the WSDL url of this webservice in tsn WSADMIN . Using this url you can call the service (peer-to-peer, no XI involved at runtime) with Webdynpro.

Issues with pagination when using Adobe table with Web dynpro for ABAP

Hi All,
I am facing strange issue with table text.
I have three cols in table, one is of type Char255 and other two cols are of type string.
The text in the col 1 is displayed perfectly but in other two cols of type string whenever we have pagination the text in table is getting truncated and in next page new row starts.
Could you please tell me the settings that will enable flowing of text in the row of table to next page.

Check the properties of the text field you use for those columns (if you want to control it on this level) or check the same attribute for the row subform (one level up control): "allow page break within content".

ALV Web Dynpro for ABAP enable/disable single row

hi all,
is it possible to change the layout of one single row or cell in a alv (component SALV_WD_TABLE) web dynpro for abap?
i managed to get columns to be editable using the tutorial "Editing ALV in Web Dynpro for ABAP".
but it is not described how to change a single row or cell in this tutorial. also the example programs i found do not get into this subject.
did i miss something?

Hi,
I think you cannot set the focus to the particular cell.
I think you can loop at that row of that table and set the the cell design to apply some color to differentiate that way rather than focusing so that user can know that he has to do something in that cell.

Web dynpro for abap error: Error type sapPopupmainID_X1

I am using Solution Manager System 4.0 and I developed an application with web dynpro for ABAP but we have an web dynpro error from Internet Explorer 6.0 when I open the popup(You can look screenshot of the[ error message|http://mtargun.googlepages.com/error.jpg]). I have found a SAP note but this note(997989) is obsolete for our system.Please help me.

My server is not in the domain. It is in work group.
Is it neccessary that server should be in domain?
Could you suggest me the work around when server is in workgroup.
Why it is showing hostname of the other server in the URL instead of the server on which I am developing the application?

Issues with portal integration of Web dynpro for ABAP application

Hi,
I have the following issues when i integrate a Web Dynpro for ABAP application with portal.
1. the iview does not contain some images, such as table scroll button images, maximize and close buttons of popups etc.
2. the iview loads properly, but there is an error in the status bar that says "Access denied"
3. is it possible to do absolute navigation from
   role1->folder1->iview1 to role1->folder2->iview2?
   when i fire this navigation from the webdynpro
   application, the navigation does not happen in the
   portal.

I think you are overestimating the power of the SCM_STRING_TO_XSTRING function module. By supplying a URL as the value of the input text, it isn't going to magically go read the content from the remote location and convert that to a binary string. It is going to take whatever value you supply in th importing TEXT parameter convert that to binary. In other words it is literally converting the string http://xxx/test.xls to binary. You will need some other mechanism to read the content from the remote location into ABAP memory before you can process it. You will need to use the CL_HTTP_CLIENT class or call some sort of web service to retrive the content.

Text editing in Web Dynpro for ABAP

I am interested in getting ideas on the best way to achieve the following functionality in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
1) A text-editor where some basic formatting is possible (Italic, Bold, etc.) for the user to enter formatted text.
2) Save this text in some format to the dictionary maintaining the text formatting.
3) This saved text should appear on a PDF printview from the WebDynpro. Of course the formatting should appear on the screen as it was created with the text-editor.

Troubles with Windows 7 Enterprise and Web Dynpro for ABAP

Hello together,
we've installed Windows 7 Enterprise and IE 8 and are using Web Dynpro for ABAP.
Since this installation on one Client, it is not possible to use the WD application - the sites seems to be frozen!
I know the fact, that SAP will support Windows 7 in March 2010 but it would be very helpfull if someone could give me a hint to solve this problem before.

Hi,
Go to internet explorer -> tools -> internet options -> Advanced
There locate the check box "Enable memory protection to help migrate online attacks" and uncheck it.
Let me know if that works.

N4S: Web Dynpro for ABAP layout editor not working

Have problem in Layout editor in Web Dynpro for ABAP
I have installed NW04S Testdrive on 64bit Linux and able to login.
SE80 is working alright.
Next I create a Web Dynpro Comp. / Intf. and create a component.
I double click on the View name "V_Default" . The Layout editor opens on the right side. Change into Edit Mode.
The "View Elements" panel on the left side of layout editor is missing. This is where we select the various elements like "Textview" etc.
Even the right click on the "ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER" to insert elements using context menu does not work.
In summary I am not able to add any element in WD4A Layout screen.
Is there any special plugin required to be installed?
How to solve this problem?

This is available with netweaver 2004s (WAS7.0) for which ramp up is going on right now and the general availability is expected sometime around 1st quarter for 2006.
