Full bars can't make or receive calls or texts at home.

Just about 25 days back with Verizon and my iphone says I have full bars yet and can't make or receive a call or text from my house this started this week same issue with my moms razr phone as well. I sent the support email a message love the well get back to you in 24hrs. Well 24hrs passed I called nice girl answered I explained I already did the *228 and that I actually did a hard master reset wiped the phone and settings clean updated the IOS to 4.2.10 then something about the phones software I guess I'm running 1.0.5 or something old she tells me I should have received a text on how to upgrade I told her the only texts I received from Verizon were my bill is due and another thanking me for my payment. We went through toggling stuff off and on for about 30 mins and testing outbound calls to #832 I put it on speaker told her its saying calling and call failed over and over again then she said she thinks she sees the problem but doesn't have access to fix it and needs to put me on hold. She picked back up conferenced the call and I went over steps taken with the gentleman I explained that when I was on hold I got flooded with SMS texts so it was going to work now that's the only way I know when I have service is when every text sent to me comes rushing in at once. He then checked to see if calls I made were hitting the server I provided numerous telephone numbers I attempted to call that failed I explained my mother is having exact issue and another friend that was in my area of Friday provided the other people having issues cell numbers and I was told a tech would look into it in 4 days I made sure I asked for network ticket #. Initially I thought this was only happening at night but today I attempted calls in the am same thing. The reps were very nice. Just under 30days back and so far not so good I've had them in the past never an issue my mom and dad past 9 years never an issue until recently. Anyone else in Massachusetts having this issue. I don't want to leave Verizon because generally there coverage is better in New England then the others I've tried in past 3 years.

It sound more like a capacity problem on your local mobile phone cell site, especially the system busy message. Have you tried your mobile phone at a different location, on a different cell site?
How is it that you are posting your messages from a mobile phone, is it a different mobile you are using?

    I'm sorry you're having issues in making and receiving calls with your prepaid device. I would need to direct you to our Prepaid department for assistance.
    In order to reach a Prepaid Department representative, please call 888-294-6804. When prompted, enter your prepaid phone number. Then press 4, 5, 4 and enter the pass code for your account.  If you do not know the pass code, enter in four zeros.  Then the system will then transfer you to a Prepaid representative.

    I have 100% full signal, all bars are there. I CAN NOT MAKE OR RECEIVE  phone calls or text messages!! Started to happen on 6/17/2013. I have  the Samsung Galaxy. My wife and I and a friend  have the same phone and they are having the same problem as me. THEY  can not make calls or receive calls or text messages as well........they  have full signal too!!! We take this very seriously because just like you I use my cell phone for everything and recently eliminated my home phone. I would love to help you with this issue, so lets get started. I show you are in an area that has great coverage. I do show multiple customers have reported issues in your area and a few weeks ago, it shows the issue was resolved. You advised that you cant get calls inside your home. Have you always had signal issues inside the home? If you step outside your door, can you make a call, send text, or access data related functions at all? Have you tried to power cycle the devices or perform a master reset. Before you rest the device, lets try a SIM card removal. Power the device off first and follow these steps http://tiny.cc/2gn6yw . This will reconnect you with the towers.     I have been unable to make or receive calls in the extended network area since arriving here 3 weeks ago. Using a Droid Bionic. Spent an hour with tech support to no avail. purchased a warranted used phone and moved sim card to it. Still no luck. Drove a hundred miles to a verizon service area yesterday and the phone worked fine from there.
    I live in zip code 79834 for 3 months every year and this is the first time I've experienced this problem. I use a Wilson booster in 79834 and get 4 bars. No booster needed for strong extended network signal in nearby 79852 but no luck there either.
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    If you are using a Bionic or any other 4G phone, you do not dial *228 to update your Preferred Roaming List ... that is handled automatically by the phone's SIM card.  To force an update, you can turn off the phone, remove the SIM card, wait a few minutes, then replace the SIM card, turn the phone back on, and allow a few minutes for it to re-establish a connection.
    However, as noted by the Verizon rep, if you check the Verizon coverage map, there isn't any coverage in area code 79834.  I've no explanation as to why your neighbor's phone works.

    I got the phone wet, all other parts of phone are working fine, just calls and texts. Do I need a new phone?

    You can try to use that SIM card on other unlocked cell phone - if you got the same problem it's a O2 problem for sure.

  • Galaxy S5... can't make or receive calls

    Intermittently the phone portion of my S5 decides to stop working even with full bars and 4g.  I was only made aware because it happened during the middle of a call.  I still receive data and text but can not make or receive calls (incoming calls go straight to voicemail apparently).
    I've looked over the internet and tried the following...
    cycling airplane mode
    cycling wireless
    power cycling
    removing battery
    re-seating the SIM
    wiping the app cache
    However, none of that has resolved the issue.  I'm open to suggestions outside of hopping clockwise on one foot while juggling.

    PPhone was working perfectly on IOS 8 and 8.1. I upgraded as I'm supposed to do and now can't make or receive calls! I can send texts so I know the network is ok and others in the same network who work with me are able to make calls on other phones but not me! I've already tried a restore back to factory settings but of cause it reinstalls 8.02 so I'm faced with the same problem!

    If the carrier cannot help you, then I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store to have the hardware checked. I really do not believe it is the hardware.
    You could try a restore before going to the Apple Store. Make sure you have a backup of the phone and restore the device as new. After activation is complete, see if you can make a call. If it is possible, then restore your backup to recover your content and test again. If it fails, then it is a problem with your backup. If neither works, and the carrier cannot help, then make the appointment.

    Last friday, I noticed that I can't make or receive calls on my unlocked iPhone 4 on IOS 5.0.1. Until then it works fine. I can't neither send or receive SMS. The Internet connection works fine and I can surf the Internet over 3G.
    I have test the SIM on my 2G iPhone and the calls works right. I have restore the network settings and I have completely restored (including IOS) the device over iTunes but the problem persist.

    The resolution to my problem was a new phone. My first trip to the Genius Bar I was asked if I had done a complete restore to factory settings. I did that when I got home and the problem with using the phone was unchanged. I went back to the Genius Bar, described that I had restored to factory settings, and the screen still froze when I tried to either end a call or answer a call. They basically said it must be a hardware problem and gave me a new phone. My phone was 3 months old so it was still under warranty.
