Liz Castro has put together a great page showing all of the layouts for all of the iPhoto '08 book themes - http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/pmwiki.php?n=Main.Folio
I'm not sure I get your questions - basically since full bleed bleeds on all four sides there is only one way to do it - which Folio gives you - maybe you can explain more fully or maybe Liz Castro's page will help you figure it out
There also is a full bleed background layout - the gray palm tree - which if you bring up to 100% opacity is another way to do full bleed

  • Size of TIFF files for Full Bleed in InDesign?

I am doing a layout for a 8x10 landscape children's picture book.  Every page is a simple full bleed of an image with reverse (white) text boxes. In my PS files, I have built in the 1/8" bleed and made them 8.25x10.25, however, when I place these into InDesign, they go beyond the cut box and look too big.  I do not want to lose more than the allotted bleed.
If InDesign is only linking to my PS files, shouldn't I build in the bleed to the PS files OR does InDesign accommodate for the bleed?  I have done 4 books using InDesign, and I always built in the bleed to the PS files, but this time I am using CS4 and am experiencing something different.
    Thank you.

I am saving my PS files at 350 dpi.  I would like a 1/8" bleed, so I have made them .25" larger than the 8x10 page will be after trimming.
I have been playing with these images in ID since I posted and it looks like if I set everything to zero except the bleed to 1/8" on every side, and only drag the loaded image to the end of the cut/bleed box, I get a perfect result.

  • Printing two pdf's as a SAME SIZED pdf with FULL BLEED?

i have Adobe Acrobat X and Preview (Lion and Mountain Lion) and i need to take two pdf documents and print them so that they are one document.
i am finding preview to be pretty fantastic but when i try this with two differently sized pdfs that are full bleed i am finding that preview is printing them both at the same size (great) /except/ with large white borders around each page. OTOH, when i try to do this in Acrobat X i am finding that it does the full bleed part but prints each page of the document at a different size because the originals are different sizes.
for the moment the Adobe forums don't have an answer for me and i am wondering if it is possible to do this in Preview or some other similarly convenient way.
i also made an attempt to resize the larger one in photoshop so it was the same size as the other one but this resulted in very large rasterization.
    any help would be appreciated.
    TIA

    Not with Reader no.
Best I could think would be to place them in an InDesign or Photoshop document, make the needed adjustments then print them.

  • Full bleed background images

I have full bleed background images. They load correctly (proportionally) and quickly  in firefox. In internet explorer, they take a long time to load and they are scaled disproportionally.  Once I change the size of the browser window, they adjust to the correct scale. Once a page has gone through this motion, it stays correct when revisiting the page. On another computer, also in IE , they load incorrectly at first and after a few seconds, adjust to the correct scale.  What can I do make sure the images load correctly in all internet browsers?

    With CSS:
    body {background: url(your_BGimage.jpg) repeat}
You need to use small, seemless images strips or tiles that are suitable for repeating across and down the page.
    http://alt-web.com/Backgrounds.shtml
Large background images or photos do not resize in browser unless you build your site entirely in Flash.
Font-size is dependant upon the end user's browser settings.   Viewport size doesn't effect text size.

  • PDF for ipad has white bars on either side instead of a full bleed

    Hi there
i have been creating a pdf document in indesign cc. Set it up for ipad and in 1024x768 and for digital publishing/ipad.
Now when i send it to my ipad and download it from mail i have a white bar left and right on the horizontal layout. Top and bottom are bleeding right to the end.
I have it on every page and cant seem to find the solution how i can have it bleed out on the sides as well. Anyone has an answer for me? i am going nuts. haha

    Hihi
Thanks for your answer Petteri. That could be it even though in adobe reader
its fine in 'CONTINOUS'mode where u scroll down. But the bars show on the
side in horizontal view when you view in "SINGLE PAGE' and you want to
    scroll sideways.
Its truly weird. I think the best way is still to design it in 1024x768
don't u think? I want it to be full bleed and no white bars though.
    Thanks much

  • IPhoto '11 Photo Album with Full-bleed Pages?

    H o w d y  ~
When creating an 8.5"x11" album in iPhoto '11, is it possible to remove the one-quarter inch white border that appears along the top, right, and left sides?  When viewed in iPhoto, my album has no white borders [the pages are full-bleed], but the proof .pdf has these borders [though not along the bottom, oddly enough].  This is especially problematic as these borders cut into the photos.  Attachments are screenshots of an album page viewed in iPhoto [no borders] and that same page viewed in the .pdf [borders have automagically appeared].  … Enlightenment appreciated! . . . .

==>  [Please disregard the above.  Turns out the white borders were an artifact of the method I used to produce the .pdf (command-P; Save PDF).  When using option-Buy Book, the actual version sans print borders was created.  Mea culpa!] . . . .

  • Help: How to crop (to PDF print) a full bleed document?

I have a document which is sized for full bleed printing. I would also like to make PDF prints of this document, but if I simply print, then everything will be off by a little. Is there a non-destructive way to 'crop' the document back to the paper size?

Do Save a copy, PDF, and in the Marks and Bleeds section, uncheck the printers marks, uncheck Use Document Bleed.
    Unless I am not understanding...

  • Creating a church anniversary 36-page booklet/program with full bleed.

I am fairly new to CS4 InDesign but would like to create a 36-page Church Anniversary Booklet/Program with full bleed.  The size of the program should be 8 1/2 x 11.  I probably will need to print it on a larger size and get it cut.  (1) How can I create this type of booklet? (2) What size paper should I use to get the full size of 8 1/2 x 11 (I cannot have white edges around the program).  (3) How should I set up the bleed, slug? (4) Should I use facing pages.  (5) I would like to use the same background on all sheets.  Thanks.

What does " two-page imposed spreads" mean?
If you take two sheets of 8.5x11 paper in a stack, turn them so that the long edge is on top and you fold the left side over the right, it will look like a book in standard reading position. If you write a 1 on the front page, open the book and write 2 on the second, 3 on the third and so on, your last page will be page 8. If you pull the outside sheet and look at the page numbers, you will find page 8 on the left, with page 1 on the right, and on the back you will find page 2 on the left, with page 7 on the right.
Those pairs of pages (8 & 1, 2 & 7) are two-page spreads (pages that are beside each other), but specifically, they are imposed spreads, also known as printer's spreads. The position of a page within a printer's spread will vary, depending on how many pages there are. For example, a 16 page book will have page 16 to the left of page 1, and page 15 to the right of page 2.
When you compose the book, page three will be to the right of page 2, in what we call reader's spreads. You will want to compose in reader's spreads, and your print provider will impose the book into printer's spreads. It's important to talk to your printer before you set up the book, so that you will know what is needed.

  • Full bleed pages

I am about to order my first iPhoto book and thought I should check if anyone knows: if I have composed a 11" x 8.5" page in Photoshop at 300 dpi and drop it onto a full bleed page in my iPhoto book, will it be printed as it appears or will they use some of the edge to get full bleed, (thus cutting off parts of my heads, etc.)? I am assuming/hoping that they add any coordinating color bleed if the 11" x 8.5" needs bleed area? I made a PDF file as was discussed in this forum and when I printed it the pages looked fine as long as I set my printer, (HP Officejet 7410) setting on the Borderless Printing drop down menu to "less" with the Borderless Expansion slider, which seemed to give me full pages.
Would like to hear ASAP and thanks to any comments.

    LJK:
I'm pretty sure it will be printed full page with no white border. If you open iPhoto's preference file with Pref Setter and search for bleed you'll find two Keys regarding bleed. The bleed amount is set to 9 (whatever that means) and the other key indicates that bleed will be used in books.
Some of the pictures of book at Apple's site do show a full bleed (no border).
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Full bleed / borderless pdf

    Hi there,
I guess I am not the first one to ask, but is there a way to print to pdf in full bleed (without white borders where normal consumer model printers are not able to print). I was thinking about using a virtual printer driver which allows full bleed printing, but don't know where to look for it? Did anybody already find a solution on how to pdf full bleed?
    Best,
    Nik

    Hi Nik B,
To make a full bleed PDF, you need to select a page size that's large enough to hold your bleed information. This may require a PPD with a custom page size capability.
I have one if you need one.
    Example:
    your page is 8.5x11
With .125" bleed, your page size needs to be 8.75x11.25.
Crop marks would require your page size be bigger yet.

  • Full bleed

would anyone mind helping me figure out how to print an 8 x 11 document as "full bleed"?
i have some documents that have colorful backgrounds and i only seem to be able to print to 8 x 11 with some amount of vertical white space on either side and perhaps some horizontal white space at the top and bottom.
i am a new user and it would be great to ptint the document as it looks in png at 8.5 x 11.
    TIA

    hi steve. thank you.
sorry, i was not sure how to phrase this.
i am trying to print this digitally so that it shows up when downloaded with the "full bleed" on the computer. it looks really stupid having this white border around the pdf print when the png or jpeg or psd is "full bleed" when i am looking at it.
also, i will probably want to print some things (maybe not this one) full beed on actual print out. in this case i imagine (?) i would have to englarge the original beyond the 8 1/2 x 11 to say 10 x 14 with the color margin and then cut it down to get a full bleed print out...?
    THANKS

  • Full bleed cover

how do i create a full bleed cover in Pages?

    oops...sorry for not being clear.
i'd like the front cover to have a photo that goes from the edge of the front flap to the edge of the spine (but not the spine itself--i don't care if that's white), and from top to bottom.
right now, the only way i can see to get text on the spine is to choose the cover layout that makes the picture smaller and leaves a white area underneath it for the title. the text from this title becomes the spine text as well. so in essence, i'd like to avoid the picture becoming smaller and the white area underneath...
i'm using the picture book theme, by the way.

How do I build full bleed proportionally scaled background images that proportionally scale to different sizes of browser windows and without leaving any blank spaces at the right or bottom? How do I make sure that the text also scales proportionally?

  • Full Bleed alert!

As from today I'm getting these error messages every time I upload PDF book files.
I've even re-uploaded PDF files for books I have successfully published in the last few months without any problems, but now I get these error messages.
    Anybody else getting these?
    Your print-ready file is complete.
We had to make the following changes:
We adjusted the page dimensions in your file to include full bleed in order to optimize print results for your selected book size. What is Full Bleed?

I starting getting the "Full Bleed" alert message yesterday too, even though the book file I'm uploading is nearly identical to a file I've uploaded successfully in the past.  In addition to the "full bleed" alert, I'm also getting a notification that Lulu has detected some low resolution graphics in my book, and also a warning that a handful of pages of my book contain text font smaller than 6 points.  The message tells me to correct these problems and upload the corrected file.
This is strange, because the book has been printing just fine for years.  Do these alert messages indicate that the print quality is being reduced, so I need to make changes in my book?  Will my book now be rejected for Amazon distribution because of these "issues"?  Or can I just disregard these alerts?

  • InDesign and printing full bleed with Epson

I have been trying to print in full bleed from InDesign (CS6) on my Epson printer (Photo Stylus 1400). When I preview the artwork it looks fine just as I have set it up, but when I send to print the artwork is being cut off where its not supposed to. I tried to print to my wireless HP printer, in pdf, and jpg format and it still doesn't work. I also tried printing it from Photoshop and Illustrator.
I have a Macbook Pro OS X 10.8.5 with retina display.
If anyone has any solution to this, please let me know! Thanks

Borderless printing is handled by your print driver, which overscales whatever you send to your printer to cover all areas. This has nothing to do with Adobe. You need to find those options in the printer driver and adjust them suitably (if that's possible)
