Full browser width image with tiled pattern not previewing or publishing.

Using the rectangle tool to create a full browser width image, I filled it with a tiled pattern and added a drop shadow. This 80px tall rectangle serves as the background bar of my top menu navigation. Everything looks great when building in Muse CC, but when I go to preview or publish, it's missing altogether.
Any ideas?

Looks like you have deleted the site now. If you were experiencing any errors during publish, most likely it happened due to the recent outage with BC with loading of assets to sites hosted on US DC - http://status.businesscatalyst.com/.

Optimum size for a full browser width image?

Hi all,
I'm pretty new to Muse and these forums (hello everyone!) and have been tinkering around with some features.
I'm currently creating a website for my band that integrate a full width browser image at the top of each page. I was wondering what the optimal settings are for the image size to make this work? It all currently works fine, but on larger screens the image is so zoomed in it's impossible to make out what it's of! The site is designed for smaller screens so this works fine, I was mainly wondering if there's a recommended size to optimised the images too for the width.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This must be a hard question to answer...for anyone...because I have tried many times before to get this question answered. I have looked at other examples of Muse sites and I have decided to go with a 2000 width for my images when I want to go full screen. I have no idea if this is correct but I get good results pertaining to how it looks. Now, I don't know if it is the optimum size in terms of download speed. No one will touch this question thus far. My research came from looking at what others did that built Muse sites as a profession.
The Muse team should address this topic of optimal images for all platforms and how images can be used throughout the build not only for the above stated but for efficiency of site building.

Full Browser width slideshow ... can Muse do it (naitively)?

What would cause images with captions to not show up?

Still struggling with this issue. Images with captions are not showing up on the iPad preview.

I have been struggling with this for days. I am working on it with Apple. We re-installed the software, I re-installed OSLion, I re-started in safe mode, looked at startup items, cache, etc.
Now I am about to create a partition and test again to determine if the issue is with another software program on my system.
BTW, I noticed this starting AFTER I upgraded to 1.1, but maybe that is a coincidence. Do you know if it started for you after the update? ALSO, check your help screen in IBA. Does it look the attached? This started happening at the same time as the caption/image issue.
Please stay in touch as you the first person other than myself (that I know about), who is having this issue.

Captivate 6 project will not preview or publish in Captivate 7

I have a project created in Captivate 6 that will not preview or publish in Captivate 7. I can make edits to it and save in Captivate 7 though. Does anyone know what may be occurring here?

Preview from this slide does nothing, and does not show an error message.

I have been using the Adobe Muse (trial) for some days now, and all of a sudden I can not preview or publish my website anymore. Upon publishing I get the message:
"Unknown Adobe Business Catalyst error has occurred.
Status: 0, 0."
Muse was working perfectly until now, what do I do? Publishing the site earlier did not seem to be a problem either.

Hi,
Please Deactivate Muse from Help menu and relaunch Muse and follow the on screen prompts. Once done try to publish again and let me know if you get any error message.

Muse 7.0 plus Chrome: browser does not show images full browser width

Hi there,
I have a serious problem with the latest Muse version: the images which I use as parallax-masks for the background won't work with Chrome, though Safari and Firefox are not showing any problems. The issue: Chrome does either not scale the images to 100% browser-width or does not show them at all, or even shows the images cut into narrow stripes. This problem did not show in the previous version of Muse.
Of course I already restarted application and computer. System: Mac OSX Mavericks.
What to do now? The presentation with the client is very soon and this bug makes me very nervous.

The problem bartl encountered and reported was fixed by the 7.1 release (November 21st). The problem you're describing sounds different.
As of yet, I'm unable to reproduce what you're describing. The URL you've provided views the same in all the browsers I've tried, Chrome (32.0.1700.77) and non-Chrome, Mac and Windows.
That said, looking at your master page I don't think you've created what you intended. At present there are two full screen slideshows on your A-master. On contains no images and the other contains a single image. Both are set to have thumbnails and the thumbnails container is off the right side of the page.
If you look at your "Master Slideshow" layer in the Layers panel, you'll see the two slideshows. I think you'll want to delete one of them and, given your design, turn off thumbnails for the remaining one.
Also, if you don't plan to have multiple images in the full screen slideshow, you'd be better off using a background fill image rather than the slideshow widget.
I remain a bit puzzled how/why you're seeing different behavior in your instance of Chrome. Have you cleared your browser cache?
On an unrelated note, if you set the page fill and stroke to none and set the browser fill to the most common color from the garage door image, it will avoid the momentary appearance of a white page on a grey background when your home page first loads. Instead the site visitor would see a blank page that's the most common color from the slideshow image, until that image loads.

Right Side Red Line will not appear for full browser width.

I had my top navigational bar set up to fill in a 100% browser width. Now, only the left side red line will appear and the right side will not work.

Ah, I understand now. Menus will stretch to 100% browser width in terms of any background applied to the top level Menu widget, but the actual items will not be stretched or fitted at the moment. I'd recommend adding that to our ideas section so that others can vote on it. It would also help if you clarify what you'd expect. Would you want the menu items to grow, or the space between them? And what would you expect if one of the menu items became too long for the container? Should the text wrap, or should it not be able to get smaller than that?

Smart Collection for images with changed metadata not written to disk?

The thumbnails in the grid view have a little icon in the upper right corner when the metadata for the file has been changed but not written to the XMP (or whatever) files.
Is it possible to create a LR2 Smart Collection, or maybe a filter, that will find all such images?

Dave, good to know that Ctrl-S on everything will write it all out.
John, I *hate* being blind about what is going on. So I can Ctrl-S on everything and get it all written out. But I can't tell how many images I have changed, or perhaps also sort them by type so I can see what kinds of files will have to be rewritten. I can't even tell if I've remembered to do a Ctrl-S and whether there are images with data only in the catalog and not in the XMP etc. files.
I'm one of those who are more comfortable if everything that can be recorded in XMP is recorded there. But I don't want to leave auto-write to XMP on while re-organizing everything.

Photoshop image with transparent bg not transparent in FCP

Image with Drop shadow not showing in table

I made an image for the header for my website. When I insert
it into my table, the white background is coming up with my drop
shadow. I made it on photoshop elements and saved it as GIF file
with Transparency checked. Any ideas so that it inserts into my
table like I see it on photoshop?

what is the background? an image? or a color number?
Does photoshop's color picker work outside of ps? If it does,
click it on
dw's design view window. If it doesn't, open the background
image in ps and
sample it. Or type in the hex color number if ps will take
that. if not-
convert the hex color to RGB.

Ipad/iphone accepts browser proxy setting with IPSEC but not PC or Mac

I have two ASA5505's in failover and set up the the IPSEC client group policy for non-inherited browser proxy settings. I have a manual IP address and the typical port 8080 configured.
What is not working are Windows and Macbook laptop clients. iPads and iPhones accept the policy even though the built-in Cisco IPSEC client does not have a proxy setting on the ipad/iphone.
On a Mac, under Network Preferences, I can set the proxy manually for that VPN profile under any of the "Locations" and it will use the proxy settings. But, if I leave everything blank, even on a Windows 7 PC (Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings), neither platform seem to accept or maybe it should be "receive" those settings.
I turned up the packet capture on the ASA and saw the ipad/iphone pointing all their browser traffic to the proxy:8080. But the Mac and PC (multiple hardware tested) are sending their packets to the actual host IP. So, the result is that the ASA sees a packet from the "outside" interface that is trying to go to the "outside" interface instead of the inside interface. In effect, it is trying to do a hairpin. I don't want to configure hairpin, I would rather solve this issue.
I know there are some other work arounds that I could do but I really need to figure out why the group policy for an IPSEC client vpn connection is not working.
Any thoughts? Did I miss something?
