Full Control User Cannot View Items in a List

Hi All,
User wants to view items on 2 lists (List A/List B)
I went ahead and inherited permissions the lists from the top level site.
Lists A and B say Manage Exceptions because all the items in the list are unique items.
After all permissions were inherited I gave both user "full control". I hopped on to their account, and navigated the site and found out that when I click View All Site Content, I see both lists and the item count next to each list (indicating
that there are items in List A/List B. When I click either list however, there are no items being displayed.
Seems to me it has a lot to do with the unique items. How do I make all the unique items inherit parent permissions. When I try to do it, it makes me edit each item one-by-one.

Hi,
Please firstly verify that the problematic user account has no sufficient permission on unique items. You could check item permission via Item’s “Share With” > Advanced > Check Permission:
If you need to grant permission on all items to a user group in bulk, here is an article about granting a specific permission level to a single group for all uniquely secured items in a list:

  • User cannot view dimensions within EPMA Dimension Library in Shared Library

    Greetings,
I presume this must be a security issue, but user cannot view his dimensions in the shared library in EPMA. He can, however view view his application, update the local dimensions, and push to Essbase.
If this is a security issue, what assignment should I provision to enable the user to see these shared dims. Many thanks.

Give that user the rights of
Dimension Editor found under Foundation Service --> Shared Service --> EPMA Administrator and then try again.
    Thanks.

  • Exchange 2013 User cannot view public folders

    Good morning,
User was able to view public folders, then lost connection to public folders.  User cannot view public folders in OWA.
Verified proper permissions.   No changes have been made to the user account in AD, exchange.

Did you do a fresh install of Exchange, meaning there was no version of Exchange installed previously? If not, have you moved Public Folders over to Exchange 2013 yet?  If the answer to this question is no, then you will not be able to view Public
Folders in OWA until they are migrated over Exchange 2013.

  • After upgrade from TFS 2010 users cannot view source control

I recently did a in place of upgrade of TFS 2010 to TFS 2013.   All of my users permissions stayed in tact. The users (contributors) cannot view any of the source control in either in VS 2010 or 2013.  Since I am the administrator I
see everything and have no issue.   Is there something that did not get brought over in the upgrade?

    Hi Rrenn49,
    Thanks for your post.
You upgraded to TFS 2013 Update 4?  There’s no any issue or warning during upgrade process?
What’s the detailed message they received when the contributors try to view source control files?
Please manually check the contributors group’s permissions on your TFS Source Control.
If you add a new user into your contributors group, this new user can access TFS Source Control correctly?

  • User cannot view her draft transaction at payment draft report.

    Hi all export,
I had a problem in payment draft report.
Non superuser 'spyap' cannot view her own draft transaction created in SAP B1. When she login into the payment draft report, the user display on the screen is 'TNaqilah' but not her name.
Anyone can tell me what happen on this case?

    Hi Preety,
I have exactly the same issue as my friend above. What might be the problem?
Creating a ticket on the SAP Portal doesnt seem to work for me. This is because I have created a number of tickets there and nobody seems to bother with them or even replying to say that they are working on them and hence these forums really come handy.
What is strange is the fact that this occurs in some project databases and not all of them.
    Your help will be appreciated.

  • User cannot view Blanket Purchase Agreements

is there a way to allow users to view Blanket Purchase Agreements in the View Purchase Order Summary without making them a buyer? I tried using securing attributes to give them access to the buyers req/pos and they can see standard POs....just not Blankets.

are you wanting them to update the information on the blanket PO's? If you are they will have to be a buyer. Alternatively create a custom form or a standard report to show this information.

  • How do we control who can approve items in a list?

We are building a referral bonus list that needs to go through 4 levels of approval before being paid out.  I've created the workflow, but I can't figure out how to control who is allowed to approve it.  For example, it would be bad if an employee
can enter the item, and then approve it as the Manager, Director and VP so that Finance gets notified and puts it on his check.
How can I set it so that only management-level personnel are able to approve/reject specific items within the list?
    John

    Hi John,
If you are using a custom list as referral bonus list, you can use the PowerShell to enable the option "Create items and edit items that were created by the user" (you
can check if you need to set "Read items that were created by the user" ), then all users could only edit his own created items, then you grant "Manage lists" permission
to Manager,Director and VP on this custom list and they will be able to view and edit all items.
    http://www.hersheytech.com/Blog/SharePoint/tabid/197/entryid/28/Default.aspx
If you want only Manager, Director and VP to be able to approve/reject the Approval Workflow task items, you need to grant them Contribute permissions or higher on Workflow Tasks list, and remove all others' Contribute permissions.

  • Full Access Users Cannot See Archive Folders

I am running Exchange 2010 Version 14.03.0174.001, archiving is enabled. In my environment I have users that have Full Access permissions to other users mailboxes and at some point they lost the ability to view the Archive folders. Even with Full Access
granted on the mailbox from the Exchange server the archive folders do not show for the remote user. Has anyone seen this before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    What's the Outlook version?
Access to archive mailboxes is only supported when a user uses Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010, or Outlook Web Access. Older Outlook versions cannot be used to access archive mailboxes.
Please make sure Outlook version is correct, you can refer to the following article.
License requirements for Personal Archive and retention policies
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/license-requirements-for-personal-archive-and-retention-policies-HA102576659.aspx?redir=0
Please check if these users who have full access permissions can see the archive folder in OWA.
If these Outlook clients are in cached mode, please switch to online mode to check the result.
If you have checked all steps above, but the issue persists, I recommend you use the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration tool to determine if the Autodiscover service is configured properly.

  • Users cannot View Calendar entry Details

We have been getting reports that some users are no longer able to see the details of an appointment on another users calendar.  This is something that all users have been able to do, but several users have now been asking us why they can no longer
see the details.  The get the 'do not have permission to view' canned message.
What do I need to check?  We allow all users to see that others have.  The only items they should not see are Private appointments.
    Thanks

    Hi,
This is permission issue about some users calendar. I recommend to set permission of some users whose calendar’s details cannot be seen by the following steps:
    In Outlook's Navigation Pane, click
    Calendar.
Click the Calendar Permissions tab in the tool bar.
In the list at the top of the Calendar
Permissions tab, click Default. (Do not, for any reason, delete this entry. Deleting it will cause errors.)
From the Permission Level drop-down list, select the desired level of access. We recommend that you choose one of these:
Free/Busy time- this is the default value. When proposing a meeting and using the Scheduling Assistant, everyone can see blocks of time when you are busy, but cannot see other details, such as subject, location, participants, notes, or attachments.
Free/Busy time,subject,location- when proposing a meeting and using the Scheduling Assistant, everyone can see time, subject, and location of the items on your calendar, but cannot see other details, such as
    participants, notes, or attachments.
Reviewer - everyone can open your calendar and see the details of the items on your calendar, but can't add, delete, or change anything.
    Click OK.
    Thanks.

  • User cannot view costing data in MM03/MD04

A user who used to have access to view the costing field in MM03/MD04 has lost the ability to display this data due to a role removal during a 'role consolidation' project. He still has access to the transactions just not the costing field he needs to perform his job. Does anyone know of a quick fix for this? I'm fairly new in my position as a Business Analyst for Production Planning and would appreciate any help with this.
    Nick

    Hello Nick,
You can first check one thing if the views are consistent per note 113966.
Please use the report ZRMMMSTAT from the note 113966.
If the view are fine then please check if the user has correct authorisation for object M_MATE_STA.
    Hope this helps.

  • User cannot  view shortcut or copy of instance in Inbox?

Hi, We have a unique requirement where one admin person will send short-cut of the INSTANCE of reports to the End users. We don't want end user to see instance of report( from ADMIN folder) as admin would be scheduling it for different users and one user should not see all the instance as that instance will be for another user. For this we have denied the access "View Document Instance" to user on the folder (ADMIN)  where report is stored.
Now if we send shortcut of the instance of this report to User's Inbox then user can not click on INSTANCE to view it. I understand that this is because user does not have access to "View Document Instance" sent by others i.e. admin.
As a resolution to this we thought of sending copy of the report to the user's Inbox. User is not able to see the copy too. Its not hyperlinked for user to click on this.
Now my question is if short-cut and Instance are treated same ( which it seems) or different? If same then how can we give access to Users to see short-cut and/or copy of INSTANCE sent by others without giving them access to see any instance of the Report in ADMIN folder.
We are using Crystal Reports on BOXI R2 SP3 with IIS and on SQL server 2005.
    Thanks,

  • Users cannot view journals in HFM

I am on HFM version 11.1.1.3 and am having some issues with users being able to view journals. These same users were able to be able to view/edit journals a couple of weeks ago and the functionality has randomly dissappeared. One user specifically created a new journal and is unable to view it on the same day. The journal exists and other users with the exact same security are able to view it. I have reviewed the security and everything is set up appriopriately. Also, are users are all set up as Native Directory. We restart services weekly and this has not fixed the issue. The only consistent behavior is that once a user loses the ability to see journals, they never get it back. I have to set them up with a new id that has the exact same security as their old one and then they are able to view journals again.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known HFM bug?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
May be you have already checked it, but can you see if there is any filter condition applied by the affected users?
Ask the affected users to go to process journals/filter/filter tab and check the settings applied. if there is any filtering condition for which there are no journals, user wouldn't see anything.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to restrict user rights so they can add list items but cannot edit them once saved?

I appreciate if you can help me with this. My beloved company uses SP2010, and I got the task to solve this issue using it, though I am not a programmer (basic html is still ok).
I need a simple annual leave list with the following capabilities:
    1. Group of users (~100 members) should be able to create list items in a list that contains annual leave data. Columns are: Name, Leave start date, Leave end date, Team leader, etc.
    2. Once they fill in the new item form, a workflow notifies the team leader to visit the item and set a column "approval status" to approved or rejected.
    3. Based on this column value, another workflow notifies the requestor about the decision.
    4. After approval, users should be able to see their items in the list, but they should not be able to edit it.
Sounds so simple, but I have big issues with point 4. as Sharepoint does not differentiate create and edit rights to a list item. As a result, requestor can edit dates of the approved items.
Any hints how to solve this? Can impersonation help with this? Or should I add a new permission level to the site?

    Hello
We are going to do the following things to accomplish your task
create a new security permission level that will allow submit only
    create your annual leave list
assign everyone the submit only permission
add a workflow to send the email and modify the item permissions
Ok first things first, on the sharepoint server open a powershell window and type the following powershell:
    $spweb=Get-SPWeb -Identity "<site url>";
    $spRoleDefinition = New-Object Microsoft.SharePoint.SPRoleDefinition;
    $spRoleDefinition.Name = "Submit only";
    $spRoleDefinition.Description = "Can submit/add forms/files/items into library or list but cannot view/edit them.";
    $spRoleDefinition.BasePermissions = "AddListItems, ViewPages, ViewFormPages, Open";
    $spweb.RoleDefinitions.Add($spRoleDefinition);
    $spweb.Dispose();
Now in your site you will have a new permission level called 'Submit Only'.
Create your annual leave list and give all users read and submit only permissions.
Now create a workflow against this list in sharepoint designer.
Add a new step which should be an impersonization step
    1st action
add permission: give the user and their manager (i am presuming you are capturing this information in your list so it will be recorded against the item) whatever control you wish, i.e. full control, contribute, etc.
    2nd action
remove list permission: remove the group you initially gave read and submit only permission to and select the read and submit only permissions to remove from them, i.e. if you added the 'All Users' group, then when performing this action choose to remove
the read and submit only permissions for the users 'All Users'.
    3rd Action
Send an Email: Email Manager with notification.

i just face the same issue and i create a new Permission level named "Submit Only". but i also have a custom web part that is added to my Create form . so when users tried to access the Create form they will get Access Defined. so is there a way to
modify the permission level to be able to read web parts ?

  • User can't see Uniquely Secured Items in a List

All the sites in the site collection are inheriting permissions from its parent. However there are two lists that contain items with unique permissions. I am currently a new admin, and see that many were given permission to view these list items beforehand.
I want to add a new user to these permissions so they can view these uniquely secured items as well.
I started by giving the user "Full Control" from the parent which goes all the way down until the uniquely secured items. I then went into 2-3 items in the uniquely secured item list and inherited parent permissions (which removed them from the
uniquely secured items list). Unfortunately, when I go to view the list again, with the Full Control user, those 2-3 items that I inherited permissions for, still, do not show up.
When I go to View All Site Content with this "Full Control" user, it shows the correct number of items next to the list. But when I click the list itself it does not show anything.
If I set the user as "Site Collection Administrator" in the site collection they can view everything normally.

If unique permissions have been set on individual items in the list then you either need to manually give the user permission to each item or add them to an existing group that already has permissions to each item.  Since Inheritance is broken there
is no way to give them permissions at a higher level and let it inherit down to the item.  Site collection administrator is a special case, since they by default have Full control of everything in the site collection no matter what the local permission
    settings are.
