Full duplex bluetooth with Iphone?

Both my wife and I have a 3G Iphone and our Jabra BT530 headsets seem to not work as full duplex. Is this an issue with Iphone? The Jabra BT530 claims to work in full duplex mode. When I test the system and talk while the other person talks, they can't hear me; it totally cuts out they say. Tried this on two Iphones.

Well, glad to see i am not the only one.
I posted about this issue back in October, and the forum admin removed my post!
I have experimented with this issue many times, and it's always the same result.
If you use your iphone and a BT headset, and the other person is talking, you can't talk over them - because it's only half duplex.
Worse is if you use your iphone with a BT headset and call someone who is driving in their car. The noise from their car occupies the channel, and the only way they can hear you, is if you yell into the headset!
I use my phone for several hours of talktime everyday, and therefore am dependant upon a BT headset (otherwise my arm would fall off).
Because the iphone is essentially un-useable with a headset, I can not use it as a phone!!!
I was praying that Apple would fix the issue with V3.0, but SOL!
I am very surprised that more people do not complain about this. Can we be the only ones to notice the problem? Surely not!

iPad won't Bluetooth with iPhone 4s

    Hi kalidongnv,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
These troubleshooting steps can help if your iPad won't pair with your bluetooth speaker:
Check that you are in range of the Bluetooth device with which you are trying to pair your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Most Bluetooth devices have a range of approximately 30 feet.
On your iOS device, tap Settings > Bluetooth and find your device in the list. If your device says Not Connected, tap the name of your device to attempt to connect it.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and then on again.
Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is turned on and fully charged or connected to power.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and locate the Bluetooth accessory you are currently connected to or attempting to connect to. Then tap and Forget this Device. Try to pair your Bluetooth accessory again.
Note: You may need to re-enter your Bluetooth accessory PIN if your accessory requires one. Some common PINs are 0000, 1111, and 1234.
Restart your Bluetooth accessory by turning it off and then on again1.
Update your device to the latest version of software. See how to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If your Bluetooth accessory has upgradeable firmware, check to see that you have the latest version1, 2.

  • How do I avoid having to pair my bluetooth with iPhone 4 every time I use it?

How do I avoid having to pair my bluetooth with iPhone 4 every time I use it?

I think I didn't make myself clear. My bluetooth device is paired. If I turn the device OFF while keeping it ON in the iPhone 4, and later on come back and put the device ON, the iPhone doesn't find it. The solution is to turn it OFF in both the bluetooth device and the iPhone and start again, which was not the case with my previous iPhone 3 and is a real pain to have to do this each time... Any one familiar with this? Thanks in advance.

Its a mono bluetooth paired with the phone.
I dont want to buy a new stereo headset but can i use this same one.

One way is to sync the contacts from the old iPhone to iCloud. Then when you turn on the new phone and set it up for iCloud and turn on the Contacts in Settings >iCloud, they will come to the new phone. http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

  • Full Duplex Lost with Wave Files on SB Live! Value (W

<SPAN>Following a clean install upgrade from WinME to WinXP SP2 on a Dell Dimension 400 with an OEM-installed SB Li've! Value (WDM) PCI card onboard, full duplex wave audio (recording one wave file while playing back one or more other wave files) ups and disappears ? ME had it, XP doesn?t.<SPAN> The record side of software mixers I use on the XP OS (Quartz AudioMaster, NCH Swift Sound MixPad/WavePad) fail to acquire or record the wave signal(s) being played back by the mixer side of the application.<SPAN> Stand alone recorders (Roxio Easy Audio Capture, HotKey Sound Recorder) also fail to acquire or record the wave signal(s) being played back by the aforementioned mixers.<SPAN> But if I switch the record input to microphone during the record pass (on those apps that permit such midstream switching), the mic records without incident.
<SPAN>Creative?s Auto Update shows all drivers for the sound card are up to date.<SPAN> Applying Creative?s Knowledge Base Solution ID 645 passes all DXDIAG tests with no problems (text file results available if anyone cares to see them) but the manual test using twin Sound Recorders fails as the second copy (record-designated) Sound Recorder fails to acquire or record a signal from the first copy (playback-designated) Sound Recorder (no error codes display at any time).<SPAN> Clean booting WinXP and running the same record passes doesn?t rectify the problem.

For benefit of anyone who hits this thread in a search:
FWIW - Following 5-weeks of troubleshooting this problem with Microsoft Tech Support (including a parallel install of the XP SP2 OS), we reached the following conclusion: <SPAN>Since the OEM sound card (Creative Model CT4780) was known to operate in full-duplex mode without incident under my system's prior ME OS but the same card fails to consistently operate in full-duplex mode while running under a virgin parallel install of the XP OS, the source of my full-duplex problem must lie in the files and drivers resident on the XP OS CDROM and dropped to my system by the OS loader/installer.<SPAN> There really isn't any other plausible explanation.<SPAN> Absent its drivers, a sound card's nati've hardware state is either going to be full-duplex or it isn't - it would never be full-duplex sometimes and half-duplex (or simplex) the rest.
<SPAN>The problem was resolved when a retail, nearly identical, sound card (Creative <SPAN>Model SB040) and the drivers and files from its CDROM, were installed on the same system.
<SPAN><SPAN>Perhaps, somewhere, drivers exist that will permit the CT4780 to operate consistently in full-duplex mode on an XP SP2 OS - but neither Microsoft, nor I, had any success in locating them.

  • How to set up Bluetooth with iPhone and computer

    Hi there.
I am now the proud owner of a brand new iPhone 3GS 32GB and I'm in love...
I'm trying to set it up with Bluetooth. I used to be able to "Bluetooth" files to and from my computer with other mobile devices but I have difficulties with the iPhone. It won't connect. Anybody knows what I need to do? Cheers.

The iPhone _does not_ support Bluetooth file transfer. You must use the USB cable for syncing, or there are file transfer/storage apps in the App Store (Files, File Magnet, Air Sharing, there are lots) that use Wi-Fi.
On the iPhone, Bluetooth is limited to voice calls, music streaming to stereo headphones, and tethering (using the phone as a cellular modem). Tethering requires carrier support - O2 and Orange support it, Tesco does not.

  • Cannot pair bluetooth with iPhone

    Hi!
I am trying to pair my Macbook Pro (10.6.4) with my iPhone (3GS, iOS4.0.2) via bluetooth in order to get internet tethering to work.
When I initiate the pairing from the Macbook, the "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" finds my iPhone, attempts to pair and shows me in big numbers the code. On the iPhone, an alert pops up to confirm that "...woult like to pair with your iPhone" and to confirm the passkey is the right one.
I now press "Pair" on the iPhone, and a few seconds later an alert pops up, saying "Could not pair with ..."
I can pair different devices to my Macbook (keyboard, mouse,...) and also the iPhone pairs without problems with a company Dell laptop, just Apple with Apple seems not to work.
Rebooted both Mac and iPhone, no success. And, no, the iPhone is not jailbroken.
Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work? Thanks lot!!
    Cheers,
    Hendrik

  • Bluetooth and iphone

Hi, I know that I can't use bluetooth with iphone except for the headset. Is it a feature disabled by apple/at&t or its a limitation of the device itself?

The bluetooth limitations are related to the iPhone and not to the service provider, i.e., AT&T.

  • Connect macbook pro with iphone 5 via bluetooth

I have macbook pro and Iphone 5 both have bluetooth turned on. When I go in to Macbook Pro I can see my Iphone 5. When I go into my Iphone 5 it shows as discoverable and searching.....What am I doing wrong? The Macbook won't connect and sync with Iphone and vice versa unless I have a usb cable attached.

    Hello bstaab,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  To wirelessly sync your iPhone with iTunes, you need to be connected using a Wi-Fi network.  I found an article that has the steps outlined on how to sync your iPhone wirelessly with iTunes:
    Wi-Fi syncing
    Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable. Select your device under Devices on the left-hand side.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi".
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
While the iOS device appears in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
You can find the full article here:

    I hope this helps!

  • IPhone Low latency full duplex audio?

Hi, I'm trying to port a small multitracking program from winmobile to iPhone and am having a hard time figuring out what audio stuff to use. Audioqueue seems like it could do the job, but I've read someone state that they couldn't get it to do input and output at the same time. I've also read that Remote IO audio unit is the thing to use for low latency audio, but I can't find any documentation that shows how to use it. I've tried to familiarize myself with using Audio Unit Graphs but the information for iphone seems incomplete. Specifically I can't seem to link how to feed the RemoteIO. Mac OSX has the AudioFile unit, but the iphone doesn't.
Can someone verify which method is best suited for this? And if it is indeed the Remote IO audio unit, a any tips on how to use it would be great.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Did you make any progress on this post? I am interested in the exact same problem, and had the exact same issue.
    - how to do full duplex audio?
    - where is the documentation for audio units?
If you find out, please let me know.
BTW, which API did you use in winMobile?

  • How Can I Use Bluetooth For Sharing With iPhones?

Hello, i have an iPod touch 3rd Gen. 32GB, And I'm Wondering How Could I Share Music or Photos With My Cousin's iPhone (Jailbroken iPhone), When I Turn The Bluetooth On, Nothing Shows Up On My iPod Or On Here iPhone,
So How Could I Share Things With Her I Have ''File Share'' And ''Bump'' Apps
    So what should I Do???

You can't share music over air or by Bluetooth because of several reasons of which is understandable by apple. Apple doesn’t provide any way for you to copy files from your iPod back to your Mac/ between iPods or iPhones. While there are legitimate reasons for blocking bi-directional copying— which again the word music piracy comes to the mind
The only thing that I heard that you could share with iPhone to iPhone/ iPod touch is photos&contacts an app called "bump" and "Bluetooth photo share". With those applications you and your friend can share photos/phone contacts and other kind of files.
    "Bump" application link below:

  • I use a bluetooth headset with iPhone 5 but when I ask Siri to read my email she says I must unlock my phone first.  If I take the phone out of my pocket I might as well just read the email then.  Is there a way to fix this?

I use a bluetooth headset with iPhone 5 but when I ask Siri to read my email she says I must unlock my phone first.  If I take the phone out of my pocket I might as well just read the email from the phone screen.  Is there a way to fix this so the phone doesn't have to be unlocked?

Apple, as I'm sure you know, now manage official phone 'unlocks' directly rather than the Newtork doing so.
When a GSM Network Provider buys a consignment of iPhone's they are locked to that carrier and may only be officially unlocked if said carrier requests it. If so, it is Apple who do this, via iTunes.
I am therefore inclined to think that part of the any generic iTunes syncing process involves the transmission of key hardware data, including IMEI, to Apple whenever the handset is synced.
If this is the case and, as each iTunes account is linked to a credit card, were Apple to maintain a database of genuinely stolen phones (ones reported to Police) they could advise said Police force when a stolen phone stuck its metaphorical head over the parapets once again? They would be able to identify the name & address of the new user.
I have spoken to the Police here in Ireland today and they regularly engage with Apple on such matters.
This may not be tracking as we know it Jim, (not using GSM Triangulation or GPS) but it's arguably even more targetted and leaves an indelible fingerprint of guilt on the thief.
The laws here are simple in this regard, if you are in possession of stolen property, knowlingly or otherwise, you forfeit the goods once the Police show up. Whether you get prosecuted depends on whether you stole the goods or were duped into purchasing them.
