Unable to Read the Full Form

Hi,
We have developed forms using the Livecycle Designer 7.0 and then enable these form on Livecycle Designer 8.0.Some of the users are unable the open the full form with some fields appearing blank when they open it.They had adobe reader v 8.1 on their desktops and they also changed their reader version to 9 and still they are unable to open the form.Looking forward for a solution.

But still I am getting the error

what are the full form of this. What i know is this
c---number of times OCI procedure was executed
e---elapsed time in seconds executing
cr--number of buffers gotten in current mode (usually for update)
r---number of rows processed by the fetch or execute call
cu-cpu time in seconds executing
this are the correct. if wrong can anyone tell me what is the full form of this above statement

c = the total CPU time consumed by the Oracle process during the call
e = amount of wall time elapsed during the call
cr = number of Oracle database blocks obtained by the call in consistent mode from buffer cache.
r = number of rows processed.

ALE allows the user to perform an SAP transaction in the sending system, after which the following steps occur:
1. 1 or more communication IDocs (intermediate documents: container for the application data) are created in the sending system database. An ALE distribution model, that needs to have been configured, determines which systems the IDocs are to be sent
2.These communication IDocs, that contain the relevant application data of the transaction that was performed, are then passed to the ALE communication layer
3. This layer performs an RFC call using the port definition and RFC destination determined through the customer model
4. The IDocs are then transferred to the respective receiving systems. These could be SAP R/3, R/2 or external systems
5. If the receiving system is an SAP system then:
-In the case of master data distribution the same transaction that was performed on the sending system is again performed on the receiving system with the data contained in the IDoc. This allows the data to go through the SAP checks before posting occurs
-In the case of transaction scenarios the relevant data is passed to the respective transactions in order to load the required application document. E.g.. A PO is loaded on the sending side, yet a SO is created on the receiving system
6. Master data has another difference:
-It can be set up in such a way that any changes made to specific fields in master data tables can automatically trigger off the ALE distribution process for that particular master data object
-If a master data object is created or changed on a sending system and distributed to another system the respective transaction is used to either create or change that respective master data object on the receiving system
In general, if standard SAP can't perform the task required then neither can ALE. It doesn't add functionality, it merely decouples it and allows you to distribute it onto other remote systems.

Thank you kglad, but one of the other two computers has been stolen from
me, I can't sign out on that one. Is there another way to solve the problem?

I entered new fields in a form that was created last year to update it. However, now when I view the responses, they are listed as Column 1, Column 5, etc. It doesn't show a label for the actual field when I view the responses. Can you please help?

Hi Mike,
CRSE is an OEM Product and for use with a custom application they have written. Unfortunately we don't their reports or how they are connecting, it would appear they were originally built off a SQL and then set to a Dataset in the app or they could be adding the data source at runtime. Lots of variations and without access to the source code to see what they are doing not much we can help you with.
You need to contact the OEM Partner for help in resolving this and find out what you can and need to do to update your SP and work with their canned reports,

LiveCycle forms use a very different approach to create a PDF form than Acrobat and that approach makes many features for processing PDFs non-functional.
You might want to ask this question in one of the LiveCycle product forums.

If there are Acrobat PDF form fields, not jus a space for a form field, then you will have to add them. It would be better to ask the provider of the form to add the fields. If you cannot add the fields, then you can use the add text feature.
Have you looked in the "Tools" panel for the "Forms" category?

Need to edit a form that was created by someone else.

Hello, I have to edit a form that was created by someone else. I made numerous changes to the text and repositioned a lot of the items, and it appeared fine on my computer. However, when I open it on my PC and other systems, the fonts are substituting and I'm getting strange characters where I changed the text. I tried embedding the fonts with the Preflight embed fonts, but it is still messed up. My client is anxious...not sure what else to check. Any help would be appreciated!

You don't need to re-do the fields. If you create a new version of the PDF
file just open the old one and use the Replace Pages command to insert the
pages from the new version over the old ones. This will give you a new
version of the file, with the existing form fields still in tact. Of
course, you might need to adjust their location and/or size, but at least
you won't have to start all over again...

Importing data from Excel to generate "filled" PDF form that was created in Designer

Hi there
I have a form that was created in Designer. The data that I need to import is all in a Excel spreadsheet with the same fields as the form.
Is it possible to import all the data so that it generates a printed PDF with the data on each line of excel?
For example:
If my excel file shows:
First Name      Last Name     Phone Number        UserID
John               Doe               416-777-9970           johndoe997
Mike               Rogers           905-887-3398          mikerogers997
In this example I would like to generate a PDF form for John and for Mike, each with their details filled out on the form based on the data in the excel sheet

Yes, you can do all of that via Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Import Data, if you have Acrobat.
If you only have the free Reader then you can still do it, but it requires a script.

Templates, as I understand them, are fixed; you can "fill them in" without shifting them. Yet, I've saved doc as a template AND it shifts. Argh!

I've managed to fix it but I wouldn't recommend the following as I'm sure its unsupported and I'll probably have problems down the line
On the host
* mv /etc/zones /etc/zones.bak
* reboot single user
* apply kernel patch (the one that ultimately I had to get on and which was giving pre-req dependency errors when running zones)
* create a new zone now that host system is all up to date
* Copy the operating system directories of the new zone (the one that's all patched) over the troublesome zone (the one that can't take the patch). Take backups first
* cd /zones/new-zone/root
* find sbin -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
* find usr -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
* find lib -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
* cd /zones/new-zone/root/var
* find sadm -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root/sadm (this copies patches and pkgs directories and I'm sure a lot of other stuff that I didn't want)
* mv /etc/zones.bak /etc/zones
* reboot host
* boot the old zone up. It should now have up to date patches
I'm sure there are real no-no's in taking this approach but it seems to have worked for me. I'll update if I find there are some horrors down the line
