Full Functional Mouse For Macbook?

Alright, I just bought my first Apple laptop. I've had a desktop for about a year now and love the features it has. One of my favorite things is the functionality of the mouse. I love being able to view all screens open at once and being able to see the dashboard with a click of the button.
Is this not possible on the Macbook? I've got an external mouse hooked up (third party) but I have no options to make these functions work. Does anyone have any success with this?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

The VX Revolution will work just fine with SteerMouse. The Nano will require using the Logitech software that comes with the mouse. The VX has 3 more buttons than the Nano. The Vx has 10 buttons plus scroll wheel. The VX is also slightly bigger. Both use a USB plug-in. The Nano's is very small and barely protrudes from the USB port. The VX's is larger. The VX has a slot in which the USB plug can be stored. The Nano does not have a storage slot. The Nano is less expensive than the VX.
I have both. My preference is for the VX, but the Nano is still an excellent mouse.

  • Best bluetooth laser mouses for macbook ??

    Hi,
Could anyone suggest me couple of good bluetooth laser mouses for macbook ?
I wish to have these features
    1).No transceiver
    2).It should support back button
    3).Battery Life Indicator (preferable)
    4).Price under 50 $ ..:)
Anyone using "Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 " ??.. i read that mac users are having problem with using back button in this particular model .. is that true , if so, any workaround to overcome it ??
    Thanks ,
    Nelson

Hey Nelson, I happen to use a logitech bluetooth travel mouse. I think the model is a M-RCQ142. It needs no transmitter, or receiver to be hooked up to the laptop. You just turn it on, and boom, you're working. It was under 50$, around 35 i think. It has a back button, its white, and works great. The Mac salesman at CompUsa sold it to me when i bought my Mac, But i think you should be able to find it at Best Buy or online.

  • Good tracking speed, CHEAP, big, quality and reliable mouse for macbook pro

    Hi mac people,
I need a mouse for this all purposes:
1)Reduce using the build in trackpad(to protect my built in trackpad)
2)Sometime I want casual gaming(Simcity,ps1 game, some other point and shoot game)
3)I 'm 183cm tall, so my hand is quite big, and I use my macbook pro as my primary pc, so need a all day use mouse(but I use my mac only about 3 hour a day).
    4)as mentioned in title.
    Thanks everyone for sharing advice!!!!!

As everyone's hands are different, I'd suggest going to any store with computer accessories and simply trying the feel of whatever brands of mice they sell.

  • Bluetooth Keyboard (integrated with mouse) for MacBook

  • Mouse for macbook air?

sounds silly i know, but i have a PC mouse and it doesn't seem to be compatible with my MacBook Air. do i really need to spend $70 for a mouse that is fully compatible? by the way, i really don't like the tracking pad - now i have a painful wrist and on my way to carpal tunnel syndrome, so if you have a mouse suggestion, i'd love to hear it.

Open System Preferences > Mouse, and see if you can change this. Also, look at the Logitech site for drivers > http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support

  • Good bluetooth mouse for MacBook

I just got a MacBook Pro and I'm looking for a good bluetooth mouse. I use a Logitech Wireless Anywhere Mouse MX on my other computers and really like it, but it uses up one of the USB ports, which isn't the end of the world. But if there's a good blueetooth mouse out there I'd like to give it a try. I read some reviews on the Logitech V470 and it seems decent. It appears to go into power saving mode very quickly, which I think would be annoying. Any recommendations?

Perhaps I am missing something, but I can certainly recommend the Apple Magic Mouse. It works very neatly for me, and because it uses the same "stroking" gestures as on my trackpad, it's an easy transition between the two.
Looking at the Logitech mice to which you referred, the only advantage they may have is size - thought the MM is smaller than you think and very portable.

  • Single function printer for MacBook OS 10.6 ?

I recently upgraded my Mac to OS 10.6 and find that there is no printer driver for the Lexmark Z615 printer I've been happily using. Can anyone suggest a good inexpensive single function printer that will run with my MacBook OS 10.6?  I  do not need bells and whistles, just the ability to print b&w and color.  Thanks!

    Hi Justin,
Thanks so much for your comment! The printer driver for this printer and OS 10.6 doesn't exist yet; I've checked with Lexmark on that.  I'm really just looking for a printer - don't do photos, don't need a scanner, fax, etc and the printer needs to have a very small footprint as I don't have much space on my desk.  I'll keep looking and will check out HP at your suggestion.

  • Mouse for Macbook

I am in need of a mouse to use with my Macbook. Can i use a mouse that connects via bluetooth? Do you suggest the Apple Mighty Mouse or a different one?
    Thanks much

Yes, a bluetooth mouse is certainly an option, as is a USB mouse. I've used both at different times. The USB mouse has the advantage of not needing to use extra battery power if you're not plugged in, but the bluetooth mouse has the advantage of not needing a base or connector of some sort, if you're wireless. It's all personal preference.
I'm currently using the Mighty Mouse (wireless) and like it very much, except when I have a little difficulty right-clicking. Sometimes it works and sometimes it's stubborn. <G>

    Hi, Tom.
FYI: You've not stated which of your listed Macs is having the problem. However, the following may help in any case:
    1. Did you install Front Row using the Front Row hack on a Mac that did not ship from the factory with Front Row installed? If so, See my "Uninstalling the Front Row hack" FAQ. This has been known to cause a variety of problems, including the menu bar (Clock, Spotlight) issues you noted.
    2. If you did not install the Front Row Hack, an incompatible or corrupted Startup or Login Item may be partly to blame for the problems with the menu bar. My "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is causing the problem.
    3. As a general check, run the procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified.

  • Mouse for my MacBook Pro.

Hi I have a MacBook Pro and I want to buy a mouse for it. I've looked at the Apple Magic Mouse but it's a little expensive and also has quite a few bad reviews.
I saw a HP mouse in PC World but they told me it wasn't compatible with a Mac. Has anyone any suggestions?

Logitech FTW!!!   Got a stable of 4 different mice from them, including the yet unequaled Logitech Air that never ceases to amaze people.

  • A mouse for my macbook

I'm looking to buy a mouse for my new macbook and am looking for sugestions. I don't want to break the bank but I'd also like something that is white/light in colour to match the computer. I've read some reviews about the mighty mouse that didn't speak to highly of it so I'd like to stay away from it but any other sugestions would be greatly appreciate.

The Mighty Mouse actually isn't that bad. I have one and enjoy it. I would say this much, any USB mouse will work. Bluetooth mice will also work. Do not install the software included with the mouse unless it is known to be Intel Mac compatible and compatible with that operating system. One thing to note about wireless mice, they can often fail to work when the battery level gets low and give no warning that the battery level is low.
Steer Mouse and USB Overdrive are two mice utilities made for Intel Macs to extend the capabilities of third party multibutton mice.

  • Full Body Skin for 13" Macbook

To be honest I didn't know where to post this!
Does anyone know where I can get a full body skin for my macbook?
I'v seen one with a skin on the top, the screen surrounding, the keypad surrounding and the 2 side parts (where cd drive is and the usb ports etc)
does anyone know where I can get one like that?
    Cheers

    Hi R,
The aluminum shell of your MBP acts as a "radiator" to radiate heat away from your MBP, especially on the bottom. There is no question the "armour" will reduce the radiating effect, it's just a matter of how much. I'm not sure anyone can tell you that exact amount so you can balance it against potential scratches.
