Can any one tell me  the best way to import Full HD (1920 x 1080) footage from a canon 600D to use with premier pro please. As there is no preset for this.
Any knowledge of the best way and settings would be greatly appreaciated.

If you drag your video to the NEW ITEM button it will create a sequence that matches your footage.

I have an iMac, an iPhone, and a MacBook Pro.  My full iTunes library is on the iMac and iPhone, but only a handful of songs are on my MacBook.  They are all associated with the same Apple ID.  When I try to sync, I get a warning message stating that I will lose songs on my phone which aren't on the laptop.  How transfer my music from my phone to the laptop?

    Hey kbert73
I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

  • Full HD (1920 x 1080) through Apple digital AV Adapter not working on iPad 2 running  iOS 5.1.1

    Hi,
can anybody shed some light on this?
I remember being able to play back FULL HD (1920 x 1080) clips with the AVPlayer-HD app with iOS 4.x
Now, running iOS 5.1.1 it does only play back up to 1280 x 720.
Also, the quality of the mirrored iPad2 screen looks as if it was a composite connection only, very unsharp.
This was diferent - much better before. I used to do presentations like this.
If this is an iOS5.1.1 problem, does someone know a way to downgrade to older versions without jailbreaking it?
    All the best,
    theunknown_uwe

It works just fine with me (5.1.1, iPad 3 (I don't think the iPad 2 is any different), latest AVPlayerHD, MP$ hardware playback). What do you see in the center of the screen when you tap the TV icon on the center right, right under the speed lever? 1920 * 1080 just like in the screenshot below? (When the res is left at VGA, the print would be 640 * 480):

  • Burning AVCHD footage in full HD (1920 X 1080)?

I am trying to burn AVCHD footage (taken with a SONY CX7) imported in Full HD in iMovie 08. I would like to burn in Full HD (1920 X 1080) so that I can play the results on a Bluray player. My choices with Mac and iMovie 08 seem limited to 960 X 540. On a PC and using SONY Motion Picure Browser I can burn in Full HD easily. Should I not be able to do the same with iMovie 08? I am new to iMovie, I love the interface and the very smooth scene transitions (compared to XP and SONY MPB) but so far the better resolution of XP/MPB generated footage really makes a difference when viewed on a 46" LCD monitor. Is there a solution?

    latan -
This is the 'gotcha' that got me and for over a week no one responded to my exact question you are asking...I'll save you the grief of asking this same question repeated times on several different Mac forums. After over a week of investigating, reading and learning more about HD video, I realized that iMovie only allows you edit, not burn.
Burning is done through iDVD and iDVD DOES NOT BURN HIGH DEF VIDEO.....PERIOD....or specifically, does not "author" HD video.
When you export to iDVD, it will only encode/transcode/convert (what ever you want to call it) into standard DVD format...aka for 480p/i playback. Kind of a bummer and almost useless to 'support' HD video if you can't produce a high def video for distribution...after all, that's the whole hook with the iLife suite....right?
After some more investigation I found a few interesting solutions.
    1.) Roxio Toast.
--> According to the product information. It allows you to burn videos to BluRay. However, I'm still trying to figure out if that means "produces" bluray content or just allows you to burn an already-made composition to BluRay disk.
    2.) DVD Studio Pro 4
--> DSP 4 can take several different video formats/resolution and author them into an HD DVD format.
However, this is a pro-level application and far too complicated and expensive for just HD burning.
3.) MovieFactory 6 Plus for Windows
--> MF 6+ can actually take your HD video and burn an HD DVD or BluRay format disk onto a standard DVD or DVD DL that will play in either type of player (depending on format). About 40 - 45 minutes of HD video will fit on a DL disk.
However, since this is a Windows program, you'd also have to run Parallels or some other Windows virtualization to run it. I don't know if MF6+ is compatable with AVCHD format.
Of course, any of these options would require you to have a high-def capable player (hd-dvd or bluray player). Possibly a cheaper option is a used mac-mini connected to your TV and use it as a media server. Just copy the files over to the mini and use it as a player.

  • 1920 x1080 HD   vs.   HD 1920 x1080 16:9

What difference is between 1920 x1080 HD and HD 1920 x1080 16:9 when exporting video.
Is there any reason to prefer one of these?
    Message was edited by: thepitcho

The problem you're likely seeing is due to the fact that you're trying to change the sequence settings of an HDV sequence or something like that. Instead of doing that, go into the browser and hit CMDOPTN to create a new sequence from sequence presets.
From the preset list choose prores 1080i.

  • Hello! Is there any way to get the full dimensional specs for the New IMAC 27? I'm building a case for it. PLEASE HELP!!!

I need the full dimensions for the IMAC 27. I am having a case made and am in dire need of these. Anyone?

    Thank You.
    However,
I am needing the monitor depth without the stand. The stand measurements and the keyboard dimensions.
I am having custom cases manufactured for the 7 of these I will be purchasing. I will need the cases as soon as I purchase the MACS. Big investment to protect.

  • Disk space full switching internal HD's on iMac but...

While working in iMovie (important project) on my circa 2010 27" iMac OS X 10.8.2 and up pops the "...your disk is full" dialogue box.
That's when I realized I was not working off the 1TB internal HD like I thought, but the smaller HD. How do I switch and STILL keep the same iMovie I'm working on now? I am currently backing up the smaller HD to the bigger one, just in case (which I had not done before as I have cloud and carbonite), before someone can tell me how to do this? Thanks in advance.

If you are down to the last 15 gigs you are already into serious "danger territory", John. Free space fragmentation on a 250 Gig drive can become disasterous (terminally so) at this sort of point. You can simply run out of the necessary unfragmented contiguous room for essential catelogue and extents files at about this point on a disc of this size, as well as insufficient space for OSX's own file defragmentation routines to operate effectively, and for proper use of virtual memory, resulting in catastrophic crashes that can readily result in total data loss.
If you can get the drive installed for next to nothing my advice would be to:
    1) buy an external 500 gig drive and immediately shift off as much stuff to it as you can. Today. Before it crashes. If you can't, then try to free up at least another 15 gig of free space.
    2) Get an internal 500 gig drive installed and, once it has been installed, use it as your prime drive.
    3) keep the external drive for a "cloned" backup, using something like SuperDuper to incrementally maintain it on a daily basis.
    4) thank your lucky stars that you've made it this far!
I've personally been through the problems that can occur when a boot drive gets overfull. It is not nice.
Brands? Get a Seagate for your internal and either buy a LaCie external or get a good external Firewire SATA capable FW 800/400 enclosure with an Oxford chipset for the external and put another Seagate inside. You could alternatively consider an external enclosure for your current internal drive, and an additional 250 gig external along the lines already suggested so that you have matching backup space. You should always have at least enough external backup space to match the size of your internal drive.
    Cheers

  • HT6032 If I paid for full version iOS7 Garageband, why are iMac Garageband sounds still locked?

    Hi all
My issue is that I purchased the full Garageband App for iPad on iOS7 but my iMAC shows that the full sound set is still locked. I can transfer ideas from iPad to iMAC as Garageband songs no problem. I can use the full sound set on the iPad but just not on the iMAC.
I tried contacting Apple directly but have received no reply or acknowledgement.
I use a 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo iMAC with OSX 10.9.1
My Garageband on the iMAC is version 10.0.1
Can anyone tell me if I'm entitled to Garageband on the iMAC without paying again?
If so, how do I fix the problem?
    Thanks!

I can understand your irritation, but as I see it, it is not really a break in Apple's policy, it is just a very unfortunate and misleading naming of two very different products.  I suggest to use the feedback form and write your post above to the developer team. This way, they will know about the problem. Use the form below:
Apple - GarageBand iLife - Feedback
When I buy a product in one device, I don't expect to have to pay for the same product in another device or computer (especially when they have exactly the same name!)
Just a few notes on this:  You can use GarageBand iOS on many different devices, as long as they are able to execute the program. My GarageBand iOS is running on an iPod Touch, an iPhone 5s, an iPad 3, with only one purchase. All devices are able to run the iOS operating system and have processors, that can execute the code.
The same goes for GarageBand iLife. It will run on any Mac with an Intel processor, that can run a reasonably new version of MacOS X.
Have you noticed, that both GarageBands do really not have much more in common than the name? The iOS version for mobile devices is mainly a program to play and perform music using the iPad sceen , e.g as a musical touch instrument - as a guitar or keyboard, and you can jam along. The Mac version is better for arranging and mixing music or editing tracks and adding effects, but it does not support playing music very well. You need real instruments.

    Hi,
I just got i 17" intel imac and am pleased with it exept that all the games run with a black band down either side of the screen and only seem to play at 1024 x 768. Is there any way of isorting this out? Doom 3 for example keeps returning to 800 x 600 if i change the settings?

  • Mixing 1440 x 1080 with 1920 x1080

    I have two Canon video cameras, the XHA1 which shoots HDV @ 1440 x 1080 @ 23.98FPS and a Canon 7D which shoots H2.64 @ 1920 x 1080 @ 23.98 FPS. I want to inter mix them in the same Final Cut timeline of ProRes 422.
Since the majority of the footage was shot on the 7D I would prefer to up scale the XHA1 footage from 1440 to 1920. Can this be done and if so how?
    Thanks
    Kent

I am not cross posting. It would seem to me that I would need to convert the XHA1 clips to 1920 x 1080 and that I should do that in Compressor. I am not sure of what or if that can be done. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Hp 110-124 pc compatibility with 1920 X 1020 monitor

I just hooked up my new acer monitor g247hl full hd to my hp 110-124 desktop. My monitor only works with the vga cable. I have a dvi-d cable hooked up and went into the monitor menu and changed the input from vga to dvi. Even though I press enter to lock the dvi input setting in, it won't stay on dvi. The next time I go back into the input, it always has switched itself back to vga. Tried unhooking vga cable but then can't see menu. Emailed my IT man that I had bought a 1920 X 1020 full hd monitor. He said my 110-124 would not support full hd (1920 X1080) and that few computers would. Is he right? Is there anything I can do to make my computer work with the dvi-d cable so that I can have better resolution than vga?

    Hello @thecyberthug63,
I have read your post on how you are looking to connect your desktop computer to your new Acer monitor using a DVI connection, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To further diagnose this issue, I recommend trying an alternate DVI-D cable to connect your monitor to your computer. If this does not work, I suggest connecting the monitor to a different DVI-D compatible computer. This should help ensure the functionality of the monitor.
If the monitor and cord work on a different computer, please call our technical support at 800-474-6836 for repair options on your desktop. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • Exporting a mpeg2 to burn onto a dvd

Hi,  I am using adobe premiere elements 8.
Basically I have lots and lots of mp2t video files which I recorded with a full HD (1920 x1080) panasonic camera.  I need to burn them on a dvd  and I have tried several times in premiere elements but it produces an error code and can't complete. I've re installed the program several times and on different computers.
So I thought after weeks of throwing dvd's away, maybe I could export the files in premiere elements to a MPEG 2 dvd file and then use a dvd authoring software like dvd maker.
I would like to know what settings would get the best quality in adobe premiere elements on the advanced settings on the multiplexer and video settings?  I put the bit rate the highest it would go and the quality to the maximum.
The other thing that has me completely puzzled is the aspect ratio.  Do I choose 4:3 or 16:9?
I have tried to use video to dvd software in the past and all it does is stretches the image and doesn't give you an option to keep the original aspect ratio of the imported video.  I can't even find out what the aspect ratio is because when I import it into gspot it doesn't give me any information.
    any help would be appreciated.

Could you post a screenshot of the error message that you are getting when you burn to DVD your video in Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 or post word for word what it says? The rest of what I am about to write becomes meaningless without that information.
The basic drill with Premiere Elements 8 is
    a. Do you have the automatic background rendering and AutoAnalzyer features turned Off?
    b. Are you working from the 8.0.1 Update?
You say that your video is "Full HD 1920 x 1080". That could be interlaced or progressive. In your case of a DVD-VIDEO destination, your choices for project preset are:
    a. NTSC/AVCHD/Full HD1080i30
and apply Field Options/Reverse Field Dominance to the video at the Timeline Level if interlaced video
    OR
    b. NTSC/Hard Disk Flash Memory Camcorders/HD 1080i30
For burn to DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc....
    Share
    Disc
    DVD disc
with preset for NTSC_Widescreen_Dolby DVD (so you have a 16:9 source going to a 16:9 end product)
Many found that the resource demands of AVCHD (various sized project) were not met by Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 and opted to convert the video to a less resource demanding format such as MPEG2 HD 1920 x 1080. Other means were explored as well (proxy methods and such). These considerations as they relate to later versions of Premiere Elements and operating systems can be discussed if applicable.
I would explore the above and burn to disc.
A better choice than export as MPEG2 file might be to burn to folder and then take the VIDEO_TS from the saved folder to DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc with a 3rd party software such as ImgBurn. Lots of possibilities.
More later once we find out the nature of the error messages associated with the burn to disc process.
    Thanks.

  • Sequence Presets

I shot a music concert with three cameras and one recorded AVCHD in full HD (1920 X1080 50i) and the other two identical cameras recorded HDV (1440 x 1080 50i). I am planning to edit this using the multicamera function in CS5.
Which is the best sequence settings to use for this purpose, AVCHD 1080i or HDV? The project will be delivered in both HD and SD.
    Thanks for your help.

Technically, 25 interlaced frames per second isn't Full HD.
Thanks for advising on the technicalities of Full HD. In this case you did not answer the main question raised in this thread. I expected you to expand on your answer and advise me on how to go about my HD content in terms of sequence presets. If you provide an honest opinion on that, then I will say your answer is pretty helpful.
    Thank you.
