Full install of Flash Player?

When I install the Flash Player plugin (via downloading and
running install_flash_player.exe), I end up with only the following
files in C:\WINDOWS\system21\macromedia\Flash:
flashplayer.xpt
install.log
NPSWF32.dll
NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe
uninstall_plugin.exe
I find nothing is added to Start > All Programs. Nor do I
find a .exe file to run. How do you manually run Flash Player?
The reason I ask is I have a problem where YouTube (and
other) videos don't have audio, which I think might be a problem
with my default settings in Sounds and Audio Devices Properties,
where no default setting is showing up (or settable) in the Voice
Playback default device slot of the Voice tab.
So I want to override this blank default in Flash Player
itself, pointing it to my SoundMAX audio device.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
- Willie

You may want to take a look at this page at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html  There is a link there for downloading the uninstall application whihc was helpful in my situation and should get you back to square one so that you can download and install the latest version.

  • How Can I Get the FULL Installer for Flash Player 11.1.102.63?

When I try the "Download now" button at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, I only get a stub installer that then requires downloading the remainder of the installer.  I maintain both my own PC and my wife's PC.  I want to install Flash Player 11.1.102.63 twice but download it only once.
When I instead try the link for "Flash Player for other browsers" under "Windows 32-bit", I get the full installer for Flash Player 11.1.102.62, not the full installer for Flash Player 11.1.102.63.
The latest version of Adobe Reader is available via FTP at ftp.adobe.com.  Why cannot the latest version of Flash Player also be available there?

at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580 the link for downloading "flash player 10", "for other browsers", still results in the OLD version of FP 10 being downloaded, not the newly updated version, build 10.3.183.16..
in adobe's security bulletins, it says that you can download the updated versions of "flash player 10" on the "archives" webpage but there are no direct downloads for FP 10 on the webpage, except for downloading the zipped packages, with the "debuggers".. it would be good if there were direct downloads for the updated versions of FP 10..
also, when i go to the "download center" page, http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=BUIGP , if i go there with "firefox 3.6", it recognizes that i am running "firefox 3.6" and offers to install "flash player 10.3", but if i go there with "internet explorer 6", it is not recognized and so i am not offered "flash player 10.3", for installing.. in this situation, i need some other way to get "flash player 10.3" for "internet explorer 6"..
adobe should make things easier for everyone by providing direct downloads for flash player..in my case, i use "flash player 10", so i need direct downloads for it.. yes, it is nice that the downloads are posted in the forum, but why not do it right and have in on some webpage, like on the "archives" webpage where adobe says that "flash player 10" can be downloaded, except that there are no links there for downloading it..

  • Help! I am in a site that keeps telling me that I must install Adobe Flash Player before it will allow me to go further but my computer says that it is installed. What do I do?

What is wrong with my computer or is it the program site that I am in? It keeps telling me that I must install Adobe Flash Player but Adobe says it is installed and up dates do not apply. Help because I cannot go further on the site that I am on and it is a secure site that I have used many times in the past.

What browser are you using? So you have a website pulled up and it is a full screen flash player trying to play or is it a area of the page with a player claiming on the player to install flash?
Check out this link:  Flash Player Help
    1. Test your Flash Player for versions to make sure nothing happened with that link. If Adobe's Flash Player test through this link says your player is working and up to date then,,,
    2. Check your add-ons or extensions, depending on the browser for what they are called. Make sure Flash Player extensions are enabled. That allows it to play within a webpage.
    3. Check your Flash Player settings itself. There are settings where you restrict, approve, and so on in different ways. The link I shared with help guide you.
    4. Check parental settings. My son plays on this parental control software that always restricts the Flash Player with his games, or videos on Disney, Nick, and other channel websites.
5.I used to have a computer that claimed this all the time. It drove me crazy. I found out for that computer that it did not like an update so I uninstalled and reinstalled flash player. I made sure the Adobe page showing the Flash Player was reinstalled correctly came up, then closed all my browser pages, then reopened to make sure not permission spot popped up to ok for future use.
Let me know if this helps. If not, share your computer and browser type.

is my password to install adobe flash player 14 the same as my adobe password?

This is my personal machine - an iMac - and the installer insists on a password being used.  I have tried all my passwords and nothing fits.  I have spent hours trying to resolve this problem and so have others.  Please help us to get Flash Player.

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.

I have tried several times to install Adobe flash player 11.0.1.152. It keeps stating to shut off Mozilla. How do you shut Mozilla off?

"Ctrl+Shift+Esc" placing you into the Windows Task Manager, you need to be in the in the "Processes" tab to make sure that firefox.exe is no longer running -- if it is running then terminate it by selecting the use "End Process" button or from context menu. (That is a Windows 7 keyboard shortcut not in earlier versions of Windows)
There is a better way of ending Firefox, but it is too late for you to close firefox properly. Full set of directions to check and update flash.

I uninstalled flash from my new mac (OSX 10.9.1) then tried to install updated version, but ended say Actionlist not found.  And using safari as browser.

DON'T use the downloader/installer or the webpage... I never do

Save it, Quit Safari and mount the DMG to install it.

  • Wish to uninstall corrupt flash player before installing new flash player

    Hi there,
My old flash player (FP) is corrupt. As recommended by Adobe, I need to un-install the old FP program before installing a new FP program (flash player 9). But before I can un-install the old FP, I need to disable temporarily the add-on's to my browers, extensions, BHO(browser Helper Object), ActiveX, etc. The objective is to "block" any add on from preventing an un-install or an Install.
Does anyone out there know where these things are in Mac OSX 10.2.8 and how to disable them?
    Thanks.
    vkl

Can you SafeBoot the computer and then run the uninstaller, if available,
for that old of an OS X version? Was not even sure of any support for
Jaguar, since there really hasn't been much for Panther 10.3.9 for awhile.
Must be older players, since the latest ones have been too new for those
    older OS X systems, also.
At this moment, I have no ideas on where the parts may be in hiding; and
have not used Jaguar for more than three years, having both sold and
donated the computers I had which best ran Jaguar 10.2.8, (& dual-booted
OS9.2.2) at the same time. A slower transition than expected, since then,
to actually doing more with computers & less learning about repairing them.
Not sure how supportive the Adobe Uninstallers for Flash (and/or Shockwave)
Players are for those still capable of being used by Jaguar 10.2.8; and like so
many of the browsers, older versions 'sort of work' while being left behind.
+I've never had a Flash player become corrupted. What are the symptoms?+
If you have a backup clone of before this item became corrupted, you could try
& revert to the earlier full system clone; or if last but not least, Archive & Install.
+Perhaps someone with a longer-term memory or more experience in 10.2.8+
+will find your post and add the missing link to get you back up & running...+
+I had thought to try & email someone else in a different thread about this one+
+but the link only gives me the topic at hand, and the person has to be in the+
+thread in order to quote from it; apparently. I sought to email a.brody, who+
+had replied in a thread you'd asked a question (different topic) before now.+
There is a short ton of semi-responsive results to a google of the topic inquiry:
Mac OS X 10.2.8 uninstalling Flash Player:
    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=MacOS+X+10.2.8+uninstalling+Flash+Player&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&aqi=&oq=Mac+OS+X+1 0.2.8+uninstalling+FlashPlayer&fp=b36c7832dbb01be6
Mac OS X 10.2.8 remove Flash Player:
    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=MacOS+X+10.2.8+remove+FlashPlayer&aq=&aqi=&oq=&fp=b36c7832dbb01be6
One path, I've read about but cannot verify since the original link (site was wiped) is invalid now,
was to follow this suggestion, from the time you downloaded the new Flash Player 9 for 10.2.8:
"Get Flash Player 9 for Mac OSX1-.1-10.3. After downloading, DON'T open it...yet. Search all your hard drive
for "Flash Player.plugin". Delete any you find. Search for "flashplayer.xpt". Delete any you find. Empty the
trash. Quit all browsers, and install the Flash Player you downloaded. Next, search for "Flash Player.plugin".
Copy it and paste it at Library/Internet Plugins, unless it's already there. Paste it at yourhomefolder/Library
/Internet Plugins, unless it's already there. Search for "flashplayer.xpt". Copy and paste it at Library/Internet
Plugins, unless it's already there. Restart computer. Open Disk Utility. Select the hard drive, select "First Aid".
Repair Disk Permissions. When repaired, quit Disk Utility. Launch Safari or Firefox." - unknown 10.2.8 author.
    Maybe that means something helpful.
Some of it looks familiar yet distant...
(It's all this winter - nine months of it!)
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Problem with finishing install of Flash Player on a Mac. When finishing by entering the requested password, the dialog box jiggles as if the p/w is invalid. But it works in the Adobe site.

I am trying to install Flash player on my Mac. All the steps are working as they should, until the point where I am asked to enter my password. I do this, and the dialog box jiggles as through  the p/w were invalid. However, it works to sign in to the Adobe site. I just changed it to be sure and checked again.

There is no password required to download or install the Flash Player.  Chances are your Mac is requiring you to enter its password to allow the installation to occur.

  • Can't install adobe flash player

i am not a techie, so the previous threads dont help me much -- not basic enough, i guess.   anyway, i cant seem to install adobe flash player.   i often click on a website or something, and it wont run because it says i need adobe flash player (had it before -- dont know what happened to ti).   when i follow the steps to download flash player, my computer freezes up and IE shuts down.  whats up, and how might i go forward?   and thanks in advance for helping out a non-techie.

Well, that should mean that nothing is running in realtime and should not interfere as McAfee would. I think this version of Ad-Aware was an On-Demand, you ran it when you wanted to, it didn't run automatically, is that correct?
Was the HJT just on the Desktop?
When you left click on Ad-Aware what happens? We can remove it, but it isn't causing a problem now so we'll do that later.
Did you have any ad block? What about pop-up blocker software installed?
In your Manage Add ons, the All add ons, can you pull out all ActiveX Controls(list them?) If not don't worry about it.
When you first began having problems, did you try to Install an older version of Flash Player thinking that would work?
Are there any other Anti-Virus/Spyware that you had installed before that wasn't Uninstalled that may still be running in realtime?
I'm trying to determine what caused the ActiveX Control error.
Do you know how to find the Flash folder? If not, I do. Just tell me.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb
P.S. I just noticed your last post. I'll check on that Wise Uninstall. Someone had that and I forgot what it was for. Will have to find the thread, first I had ever heard of it. Thanks
