Adobe Acrobat Toolbar issues in firefox browser
Hi all,
Since a recent Adobe update I have been having issues with reading pdf documents within firefox 3.6.20.
Basically to summarize I like have the Adobe Toolbar and always had the display in read mode by default disabled.
However if I disable this the toolbar doesn't appear fully only partially with nothing at the top only to the left toolbar which has the thumbnail icon, search command and attachments.
To get the full top toolbar back the only way I have found is to enable read mode.
Then when the pdf appears in brower to click the adbe icon on the reader toolbar and then the extended toolbar is fully back.
Whats gone wrong?
Seems to it with both adobe reader X and Adobe acrobat X pro
Thanks,Sounds like a problem with the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder.
Do you have (security) software that might protect and restore an older copy of this file?
Note that the default position of the Home button is at the far right of the Navigation Toolbar and the combined Reload/Stop/Go button is positioned at the right end side of the location bar where you also have the star to bookmark web pages.

I have Google Toolbar installed. However, it does not show all parts of the toolbar. I have to close Firefox and restart before the full Google toolbar shows. This is irritating at best. Have been tempted to switch. If I am unable to find a solution, I WILL Switch.
First, let's confirm that your change is taking effect during the same session.
After changing your home page setting, and before closing Firefox, if you open a new window (Ctrl+n) or click the Home button, do the 6 pages load?
Second, let's confirm that your settings file is getting updated.
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Scroll down and look for a file named prefs.js (if the .js is not shown, Windows is set to hide file extensions; you can switch that off using the steps in this article: ).
If you right-click prefs.js and choose Edit, it should open up in Notepad or a similar text editing application. If you search in the document for '''homepage''' can you confirm that the line which starts as follows now lists the correct URLs?
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "''your pages...''
If those check out, then some process that runs after you exit Firefox appears to be undoing your change. Here's a possibility:
Some security software has a feature to protect you from unwanted browser changes. However, this also can prevent you from making changes you want to make. If you have Advanced SystemCare, or if any of your security/utility software has a feature with a name like Browser Protection, Home Page Protection, or Surfing Protection, try turning off that feature. -
I just upgraded to Firefox 4.0 only to find my Roboform disappeared - When I click on Roboform Toolbar, Firefox takes me to the site to buy a license that I already have. What happened to my Roboform Toolbar, which was working and now it's there?
Depends upon the version of Roboform you have. Roboform Pro v.6 needs to be updated to v.7 for Firefox 4.0 compatibility.
If you are using the '''Full RoboForm Toolbar''', install the Roboform adapter for '''Firefox 3.0 - 4 beta X''' from here: <br />

Hi All,
has anyone able to use iframe with the PIK (Portal Integration Kit) so that the websphere portal menus isn't lost when clicking on a report ? Is there a way to lock the "Document List" portlet which is part of the PIK in an iframe basically?you can use opendocument to open an excel file with using just the file name in the repository.
for example
stringvar path:= "/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=myexcelfile";
WEIFrame ("myiframe", path, 600, 400, "no")
note that in a web viewer you don't get the full excel toolbar. also, not being an excel user, i am not sure how you would pass any context parameters to excel. -
I have two add-ons that are enabled AND working but they are their icons are not displaying.
I have Firebug and Adblock-Plus on my Firefox browser that are not displaying their normal shortcut buttons next to the search bar of Firefox. They were displaying fine yesterday, now today they are not displaying at all. They are installed and enabled. There were no changes on my end (user end), that could explain this occurrence. No new addons installed. No new plugins. Any help would be grateful.
I have Firebug and am on Ubuntu at present, so my options may differ slightly from Windows, and over time the Firebug options probably have changed.
If you reset the toolbars to default settings by resetting localstore.rdf you may need to make some changes to recreate whatever you had before.
I may display a full Firebug toolbar with keyboard key F12. That toolbar includes several display options from clicking the firebug icon. I also have Firebug showing as an option from
* Tools -> WebDeveloper -> Firebug.
If I use the customise toolbars option; for example from right clicking an empty space on a toolbar; the palette of icons includes one for Firebug that I may place where I like. If you try to create a custom toolbar remember it needs to be populated, if it has nothing on it it will not display.
P.S.
Presumably you are able to use Firebug, it is just an icon that you are missing ? is that correct ? -
Need a form filling program for firefox that works like roboform
when i use internet explorer i have roboform to fill the open data fields but in Firefox i use the automatic form filler, but it seems to only save data and want to reuse it if i have at least been on the site and filled out the fields at least once. roboform has my information and will fill any sites fields so i don't have to re-enter the data over again. so does Firefox have a similar program that can do what roboform does? thanks
Roboform works fine with Firefox, as long as you have the correct Roboform adapter for Firefox.

Aperture 2.1 is out today, with new open plugin architecture
See press below. Sounds really great.
08:30 28Mar08 PRN-Apple Releases Aperture 2.1 with Powerful Image Editing Plug-In Architecture
CUPERTINO, Calif., March 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Apple(R) today
released Aperture(TM) 2.1, which introduces an open plug-in architecture that
makes it easy for photographers to use specialized third party imaging
software right from within Aperture. Available today as a free software
update, Aperture 2.1 includes the Apple-developed plug-in, Dodge & Burn, which
adds brush-based tools for dodge (lighten), burn (darken), contrast,
saturation, sharpen and blur. Over the coming months, third party software
developers will deliver image editing plug-ins for localized editing, filters
and effects, noise analysis and reduction, fisheye lens correction and more.
"The image quality in Aperture 2 has won over the most demanding
photographers," said Rob Schoeben, Apple's vice president of Applications
Product Marketing. "Now, thanks to our open plug-in architecture, users can
access an entire industry's worth of imaging expertise without ever leaving
Aperture."
"To date, maybe two percent of my photographs needed to be touched up
outside Aperture," said John Stanmeyer, founding member of the VII Photo
Agency and contributing photographer for Time and National Geographic
magazines. "Now that I can dodge and burn right within Aperture's new plug-in,
I can't imagine when I'll have to open any other application to tone my
images."
By clicking on one or more images within Aperture, users can choose from a
menu of installed plug-ins and apply specialized imaging operations to either
TIFF or RAW images. Apple is working closely with key developers to bring the
most requested plug-ins to Aperture such as:
-- Nik Software's Viveza plug-in, powered by U Point technology, which
provides a powerful, precise and easy way for photographers to
selectively control and adjust color and light in their digital images;
-- PictureCode's Noise Ninja plug-in that delivers advanced high ISO noise
analysis and reduction;
-- Digital Film Tools' Power Stroke plug-in that features a simple,
stroke-based interface to quickly mask and intuitively perform targeted
adjustments;
-- The Tiffen Company's Dfx plug-in that provides an expansive suite of
creative filters and effects;
-- dvGarage's dpMatte plug-in, which is a high performance chroma key tool
for creating seamless composites, and the HDRtoner plug-in that enables
the selection of multiple photos to create a single high dynamic range
(HDR) image; and
-- Image Trends' plug-ins that include Fisheye-Hemi to quickly and
effortlessly correct fisheye lens distortion, ShineOff which
automatically removes shine from faces and PearlyWhites that
automatically whitens and brightens teeth.

Let's just say I HATE wha thas been done with Firefox4 -- wnat the old one back
Firefox 4 is intrusive, over-protective and is reeking havoc wtth all my Internet interfaces. (1) I use a great program called RoboFor (password library and executor) and FF is blocking any new entries (2) When anyone tries to get to me Poetry workshop at poemtrain2.com they are being denied entrance because FF "thinks" it is suspicious (even though they admit in the message they have no evidence of Malware in last 90 days). My users are FURIOUS! and all want to quit Firefox4 -- they can only get in with IE now -- I need answers!! It's nice to have "fast" and all the whistles and bells, but you are blocking all of us in ways you shouldn't

2. That needs to be handled with Google, as mentioned on the "malicious" page that appears when Firefox says there might be a problem with that website. -
I updated to version 4 and Roboform which worked fine with the previous version which is unknown to me. I have lost things which I used to use and don't know how to access them, I can't say what they were but when I want them that will become apparent. One thing I can bring to mind is my virus protection indicator which was below the main taskbar and should appear automatically.

As far as the '''virus protection indicator''', without the exact name of that security tool all I can do is to recommend that you contact the developer of that toolbar extension to see of they have an updated version available for Firefox 4.0. -
using Vista, sometimes after creating and saving an excel file, the document is not visible when the file is reopened.
selecting full screen mode makes the document visible, but the toolbars disappear and the print option does not show up on a right click. How can i print the document and see the document in some other mode than full screen?In order to print, you can click the CTRL+P keys to launch the print dialog,
Regarding the missing toolbar, try clicking the ALT key to shouw the software menu, then look around under the view option for any available toolbar settings,
If you cannot find it, i would recommend you to try the Microsoft support forums, as they have some more knowledge with their software features
Say thanks by clicking the Kudos thumb up in the post.

When you put Firefox in full screen all the toolbars disappear. When you hover over the top of the screen the address bar and 'open tabs' bar appear. Is it possible to get the favourites toolbar to appear as well?
If not is there any other way to access favourites without having to close Firefox?You can also toggle that setting if you hover the mouse to the top and right click a toolbar to open the toolbar context menu: Hide Toolbars.
That won't show the bookmarks toolbar AFAIK even if it is selected. You can access the bookmarks via the Bookmarks menu button if you place that button on a visible Navigation Toolbar or Tab bar.
Add code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line to make the Bookmarks toolbar visible in full screen mode.
