Full original colour cartridge to be replaced

Hello everybody,
my HP ENVY 4500 keeps now asking me to replace what I know for sure it's a good full and original colour cartridge (301 - CH562E - exp. date 2015/09/29 - sn 217924 1066006264).
I removed it and cleaned contacts on both cartridge and printer.
I also executed printer cleaning procedure after removing colour cartridge (i.e. with only black cartridge installed) all to no avail.
I know the colour cartridge is good because it printed two pages before I made the only intervention on my part, that I'm now led to suspect may be behind the current problem (even if I don't know why it could affect only one cartridge).
Since printer control panel in Vista 32 bit was continuously crashing when accessing properties I decided to reinstall printer program suite (all of it, driver and applications).
The result is that the control panel has now become accessible once again but the printer no longer prints in colour due to the reported error that I can't clear.
This is in my opinion the worst inconvenience that can happen in a printer (I'm by the way really sensible to toner waste), even worse than ore serious hardware problem (that may happen in products from time time, everything sooner or later breaks up) because it's no doubt all and only logic-related.
I feel cheated once again from a silly machine which decides on her own when a cartridge is good or has supposedly gone stale.
This is something I cannot accept, so if someone is able to help me I'll greatly appreciate it.
I'm otherwise tempted and ready to entirely scrap the printer and once for all also HP (also Epson, given some past experiences, for what is worth...) and buy one of supposedly poorer quality products in the market but at least definitely free of hassles with cartridges.
To think I'm not even refilling cartridges or using refurbished or non original products...
Sorry for the tirade but this really gets me angry.
Thanks in advance for anybody's suggestions
Luca
P.S. The printer, if that may ever be of any help, is connected wirelessly

The cartridges can be replaced independently as they run out of ink, you do not need to replace black and color at the same time.

  • PSC 1510 All in one printer - won't print even black and white when colour cartridge not recognised

My PSC 1510 All in one printer is flashing the "check printer cartrige icon" and both "Black" and "Colour" icons at the bottom left of the printer.
It won't print at all, even when I select grayscale (black and white). The help pages tell me that if I remove the colour cartridge the printer will switch to backup mode and I'll still be able to print in black and white (though not copy or scan). But this is not the case, and I can find no way of switching manually to backup mode. The help pages have no useful explanation of backup mode. I've also tried cleaning the cartridge (which I'm pretty sure isn't empty) but that makes no difference.
Can anyone help? I'd be very grateful.

gabri21 wrote: I have a very similar problem with my PSC1510 but only the colour cartridge light is blinking. I am also unable to find any useful information to set up printing in back up mode. Can anyone assist in resolving this problem for us?
With only one cartridge light blinking I would suspect the cartridge, they do rarely fail (much more often for reman cartridges, see here).  Clean the cartridge contascts as shown here.  If that fails and the cartridge is an original HP then check the warranty date as shown here.  If the cartridge is in warranty return it to your dealer for a warranty replacement.
The printer will automatically switch to backup mode if the black (or color in some printers) cartridge is removed.  I do not know if this works with the PSC 1510, some all-in-on devices insist on having both cartridges present.

  • Photosmart C4280 - copying without colour cartridge

My device is displaying: "Print cartridge is missing, incorrectly installed" It is true, because my colour cartridge is empty and i dont want to use more. But this text is always on devices display. Its possible to erese this error message from display? And when i want to use C4280 to copying documents without starting my computer, it is not workinr (because there is error message on display) and when i push grey button (black copy) it is not working.

Two very cheeky expressions, I've found in HP's suggestions: "HP cannot guarantee the quality of non HP cartridges", and " If TWO new cartridges were installed, perform the steps on both".
In fact HP guarantees, HP cartridge will stop working prematurely. And there is no way I will buy two new cartridges, costing much more, than new printer, while old one is almost full!
In the meantime I've hacked this printer, as I remembered "Light bulb conspiracy " film. I've used two old ones only, and I guarantee I will never buy new one, especially original HP. It already happened once to me, that my black XL stopped working, after printing less pages, than small one included within new printer. I've just pumped twice rest of ink into old small one, and it worked. Now my colour cartridge is hacked , and works OK, so I have not only modest black option. My colour cartridge is from 2011, and that was maybe real, artificial problem , pre-programmed by scoundrels? Why the hell to destroy this planet such way? If manufacturers must to cover costs, why not to sell printers for some 3-4 times more, instead of wasting materials? Answer is one - madness of greed. We are society of slaves, thinking, work is target of life.
If there was real democracy on the planet, we, the people would be able to stop pumping money into Global Warming scam, and ban producing goods, which are intentionally made to be broken quickly. And companies like that, not CO2, are dangerous to our planet.
Thanks for suggestions. Already found better, suggested by kind of people, I hope will save our future.

  • How can I print in black when the colour cartridge is empty

    Hi,
I have an HP Photosmart 5510 that I use ONLY for simple black on white printing for work.  I have it set to black ink only but today, a wet and cold Sunday night when I really really need the d*mned thing to work because it's month end and I have to send copies of all my worksheets to head office, I get an error message to the effect that it won't allow me to print using the brand spankin' new original HP black cartridge until I buy some totally unwanted colour cartridges to keep it company.
Am I really being held to ransom like this?  Are Hewlitt Packard so short of cash that their corportate monolith will falter and fall if I don't buy expensive consumables whose only function is to print in colours I have no wish or need to use?
Am I really unable to use the black print facility on *MY* printer until I've fed yet more cash into the greedy maw of some US blue chip company?
If the answer to any of the above is yes then tomorrow evennig after work I shall have to go to the store where I bought my HP printer and very publically tell them were to shove it and why.  I shall seek out a new printer  from ANY MANUFACTURER OTHER THAN HP that allows me to print in black only and I shall make it a mission to spread the word.
Of course it's entirely possible that HP have a simple fix that will allow me to use black cartridges only in which case I shall be delighted to continue buying original HP black cartridges on a monthly basis.
On the other hand I do need a reply urgently because as I say, it's Sunday night and this problem has put me hours behind for work tomorrow as it is.
    Thanks  (I hope).
    Andrew

    Hi,
Firstly I'd like to say: I'm not working for any computer vendor, both hardware and software. From my understanding, the technology to make those inject printers dictates why we need all inks to print when we only need black.
    1. On some printers which ONLY use 2 ink cartridges (black & tri-color) we can print black only if the tri-color cartridge still has ink at least one color
    2. For many other printers which have individual color ink cartridges we need all of them to print even we only print black only. Printers may stop during the warming up process.
    3. For some printers, we can force them to print black only without ink in one color cartidge but this would more damage than good because this will shorten their lives.
One thing I've mentioned few times. Vendors (all of them) should allow users to SCAN without inks. But as mentioned above, printers may stop during the warming up process and first of all THEY ARE PRINTERS.
    Regards.

  • B110a colour cartridges not working even after buying and installing new ones!!!!

i have just got the B110a and have a persistent problem with the colour cartridges not aligning.  Despite numerous head cleanings and putting brand new cartridges in i still don't get any colour...........so far to try and resolve the problem i have done the following
    With the 'set-up' colour inks
switched off and unplugged printer and laptop, powered everything up and tried again
    done numerous printhead cleans
    tried numerous alignments
With brand new set of colour cartridges
switched off and unplugged printer and laptop, powered everything up and tried again
    done numerous printhead cleans
    tried numerous alignments
I'm at a loss, and pretty fed up   wish my trusty old Dell printer worked with the new laptop.......

  • Photosmart C7280 All in One error notice saying out of yellow ink when cartridge has been replaced

Hello Forum members...I hope you can help me.
When I try and print something I get an error notice which says that I must replace the yellow ink cartridge and telling me I can print in Black only (which is fine because i usually use the greyscale fast print option anyway).  However the worrying thing is that the error notice also says that if I do not replace the yellow cartridge then the printer will cease to work.
I did replace the cartridge quite some time ago.  An HP cartridge from HP online.  The cartridge is showing full on the bar chart display and yet still the error notice comes up when I try to print.
I hardly use the printer.  I am a retired person who may occasionally print out the odd letter or email (I would say on average 2/3 pages per 2/3 weeks.)  I very, very occasionally print the odd photo....say twice a year 6 photos.
I got the printer in 2008.  This was a replacement FOC for an earlier model of the same type.  It was one month out of guarantee when the earlier printer did exactly the same thing.  I had just replaced several cartridges (the first replacements). The printer was eventually replaced by the store I had bought it from because they could not repair it.  It just stopped functioning.  Some computer type glitch
I am now afraid that if I do not act soon then this printer will seize up and be irrepairable.
I do hope some teccy member of the forum will be able to help me.

mine has an error notice that says yellow ink cartridge is empty ( when trying to print something off of the internet) though I have tried 3 new full ones.It also had a message that my printer could print black only. I've been angry for 2 days.
Now, I found out my computer is lying to me! I decided to print a blonde hairstyle I liked off the internet and I hit "black only" since that's my only option. But, it printed in color. I realized I've missed 2 days of being able to print off the internet because my computer or printer was lying.

  • 4 original HP cartridges have leaked in 3 months

4 original HP cartridges have leaked in 3 months
    Printer type: Colour LaserJet 2600n.

Obviously, I can't speak for cdurso, but for my part, HP refused to help me with the region reset. Some foreign customer support representives simply told me repeatedly that my printer was obsolete, and I needed to buy a new one. However, I did find a very simple solution to my problem. I simply pulled the chip off of the ink cartrige from the region that the printer was set to, and I stuck it on to my new cartrige. I believe this will invalidate my ink level readings, but it does allow me to use the printer, which is now working flawlessly. I simply have to bypass the "expired cartrige" message I get every time I need to turn it on or reset it.

  • Black cartridge not recognizing when inserted the colour cartridge

    model: HP Deskjet 2515
    os: win 7(x64)
recently I have replaced black cartridge(hp 678) and a message appears saying "ink cartridge failture-black".Although I unplugged and replugged the printer, problem exists. Then I removed colour cartridge from the printer and then only the black cartridge  detected. After re-inserting the colour cartridge the problem appears again.

Hello TamilSelvam, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are running into print quality issues.  I would like to help.
I would recommend removing your ink cartridges, and performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then suggest utilizing the steps in this document on Troubleshooting Print-Quality Issues.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • HP Photosmart 3310 printer. Problem with new 363 original hp cartridges.

I live in Italy and I bought an HP Photosmart 3310 all-in-one printer in US. Once the original ink cartridges have been running-out I bought a complete set of HP Original new ink cartridges in Italy. Now the printer's display shows the following message: "Printer configured to use 02 ink cartridges" and do not want works at all. The ink cartridge I bought are 363 (n.6 cartridges for about 70euros!). Please let me know if there's a way to change the printer configuration and allow it to work with 363 cartridges instead of 02. Thanks in advance for your reply. I'm looking forwarding your instructions. Best regards. Carlo D'Urso

  • Colour cartridges suddenly not recognised

From time to time my printer decides it will not recognise the colour cartridge any longer.  I use 75xl.  This is despite the cartridge having worked perfectly up until that point, and definitely not being empty.  I take it out & put it back in and the messages alternate between the cartridge being incompatible, or missing.  When this has occurred previously I have put in a new cartridge and it's resumed working.  I then put the old cartridge it previously woulrn't recognise back in & away it goes until the next time.  It's just happened again, after successfully printing a couple of pages.  I put my spare cartridge in and it wont recognise that either now.  As there is a missing cartridge it wont print at all.  not even in black & white.  I've really had it with this printer, and the lack of support from HP.  My printer is out of warranty, but still printing/scanning/ photocopying just fine .. when it will recognise the colour cartrigde.  any ideas??  Or should i just go & buy another brand printer?

    Hi Anthea White,
I'm sorry you are having issues with the print recognizing colour cartridges.   There is actually circuitry between the ink cartridges and the circuitry in the printer.  I'm attaching a document that describes how to clean these electrical contacts.  Sometimes ink or dust prevents a connection from being made.
I hope this will help you!

  • Optimize Video, Full (Original Size) - What Does It Do?

I've recently noticed that some of the video I've imported into iMovie '09 is "optimized" and some isn't. What's the difference?
Specifically, what does the action "Optimize Video - Full (Original Size)" actually do? If the video can already play in iMovie, and is clearly compatible with it, why does it need optimizing?
    Once you optimize a video, you can't de-optimize it, right? It's a one-way street.

There is an advantage to having the optimized video: At least on my computer, it plays significantly more smoothly, and it scrubs better, too. Here's what I found for an 8.1 s clip from my iPhone 4:
Original file: 10.5 MB, 95% CPU when playing.
Optimized Large: 37.6 MB, 51% CPU
Optimized Full: 56.9 MB, 47% CPU
With the original file, the viewer is jerky when it's playing, and the red scrub bar has trouble keeping up with the mouse. With the two optimized, the viewer is smoother (but not perfect), and the scrub bar keeps up with the mouse pretty well.
I don't understand why the original is so jerky in iMovie when it plays perfectly in QuickTime. I've always had problems with jerky video in iMovie.
I will also mention another point of interest: I have compared video from my iPhone 4 with video from my Sony HDR-HC5 HDV video camera, a pretty decent HD camera that records on mini-DV tapes. I was surprised to find that the iPhone video is markedly sharper. It really looks significantly better. I will probably be taking more video using my phone now, instead of always lugging around the video camera.
Downsides to the iPhone video: Not as good in low light. Terrible orange hue in incandescent light (some posters have claimed this might be a defect, as not all phones seem to have this). "Rolling shutter" artifacts. Hard to hold steady, and worries about dropping it since it has to be held in an awkward way.
Still, it'll be great to always have a high-quality (in outdoor light, at least) video camera close at hand.
