Full Page Slideshows

Hi Everyone,
Another newbie question. I've created several full page slideshows for our touch-doc. We put the chevrons in in Photoshop and they slide quite well. The problem I'm facing is that when I test it on the IPad, I can't move beyond the slideshow down the rest of the folio. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or knows of a solution?
I've tried the various different settings, but it doesn't seem to be working for me.
Any advice?
Thanks
Ann
P.S. Should also say this is a MSO slideshow, in both vertical and horizontal. Can slide horizontally perfectly fine, but when I want to move beyond the full page slideshow, I can't do it. It's like it's frozen or something.

Hi Bob,
Sorry, but I'm not sure how I do that... For some reason I'm having a very difficult time understanding MSOs :-/
Have read your ABCs article on your blog, but when I select my slideshow, I can't seem to get the convert to buttons tab to come available. Is there a step-by-step of instructions written somewhere to do what you suggest above? As you can see, I'm not very confident with InDesign quite yet :-/
Many thanks!
Ann

    Hi Tim
You can pin the navigation button on page using which the buttons would be fixed in page position and on window resize it would be similar effect.
Please check this site where the buttons are pinned :
    http://googletranslate.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
Drag the navigation buttons on page and then pin them.

  • How to adjust the position of an image in a full screen slideshow

Hi I'am using a full screen slideshow composition on my page and muse is not letting me adjust the position of the image to the top, middle or bottom of the frame under the fill option when the image is selected in the slideshow.
I also find it very buggy when previewing the page in a browser, some time it re-sizes the image only larger but never scales down proportionately, only on rare occasions. Why does this happen?
Can someone please help ASAP I need to get this site done by tomorrow.
    Thanks,

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The effect you're looking for is 'Scale'
In Keynote '09, 5.1.1 select the graphic.
Click Inspector in the tool bar, Build Inspector (3rd icon from the left), (Build In and Build Out are both set to None for this step) Effect, Action, and then Scale.
It rescales ('zooms') the selected item (image) up or down from 0% to 200%
Clicking on the More Options button at the bottom opens a drawer to the left, and gives you more control over how the build occurs, whether they happen automatically, timed, or when you click, and re-order build steps.
At 200%, double the original size, resolution could be a problem. There is a workaround, because it also scales smaller, down to 0%. So I would scale the graphic down 'small' as the first step to fit at the bottom, (even hide it behind a background-colored box) as you scale it down, and then at the end, scale up to full size to fill the screen at 'normal' resolution.
In the attached example, I use a 'scale' up to go from 100% to 130% on a map, and use arrows and a flashing line to point out the road where a specific business is located with 12 steps. Some elements in my slides have been intentionally obscured. For simplicity, I've eliminated showing any steps but the initial title and the scale.

  • Transparent footer over full-screen slideshow not rendering correctly

I've placed a white box set to 80% opacitiy behind the text in my footer so the footer shows in front of a full-screen slideshow. It looks perfect in Design mode, but when I preview the page the transparency only renders in the top 20 pixels of the white box. The rest of the transparent white box isn't there, so the text is unreadable in front of the image (see attached images).
The footer is on the master page on a level above the slideshow, which is on a content page.
    Thanks!

    Hi
    Please check few possibilities :
    - If any composition is used on page , try to check if there is space between border edged of rectangle ( footer) and composition frame.
    - Check if footer overlaps with another page element
    - Try to scale down the text frame so that text frame border does not falls on rectangle border edges.
    - Preview in browser ( use different browsers )
    - resize rectangle ( with opacity )
If still same, then please let me know the site url.
    Thanks,

  • Full-width slideshow glitching on mobile

I'm having some issues integrating full-width slideshows into my website.  They  look amazing on a desktop, but not so much on a phone.  See it here: birdwalkpress.com
When viewing the slideshow on a phone, there are a couple of intermittent issues.
         1. When you zoom in, the slideshow jumps to the left.  It doesn't reset when you zoom out either- it's (usually) stuck off the left edge of the screen.
         2.  You often can't scroll the page if you grab the slideshow, only if you grab other elements on the page.
I'm assuming this is a bug.  Can anyone from adobe shed some light on this?

    Hi
I see the issue you have reported, could you please send your muse file as an attachment to us so that we may further look into the issue.

  • Pin images in Full Screen Slideshow???

I am using a full screen slideshow in Muse and it appears that all the images are proportionately resized with fill frame and pinned in the center. This means that if some of my images of people don't have the same general layout, some photos have heads cut off, etc. Is there any way to pin these images to the top or bottom so I can have some sort of uniformity? As it is, about have of the images work perfect, while the others look odd because the subject has part of his head obscured by the menu. I know this can be done with a simple fill, but in the slideshow option, you don't have that choice. I have done this with flat out parallax coding, but no idea how to accomplish it in Muse.
    Thanks for the quick responses!

    Hi
With images in Full screen slideshow we cannot define different pattern for separate images, all images will be used as fullscreen and will resize with browser.
In your case where few images are not same and includes cut off parts , you will need to modify the images outside Muse using any image editor and then use in slideshow.
Or try to modify the layout of the page with page elements if they overlapp any specific page section.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Full Screen Slideshow image sizing issue

    Hi all,
I am creating full screen slideshow for the first time.
I have added the slideshow into the DEISGN mode and it all looks perfectly fine. However, once I am in PREVIEW or PREVIEW IN BROWSER mode the image is at fullscreen but it seems to be zoomed in or cropped tighter.
The slideshow images are set to FILL FRAME PROPORTIONALLY. I have tried experimenting with different settings, page sizes, changing margins, changing header/footer guides, different image sizes etc... but no success.
    I am on a 27-inch (2560 x 1440) IMAC.
    help???
I have attached two images to show what I mean. Notice in PREVIEW mode how the image appears to be tighter/cropped/magnified.
    Thanks

    Thanks Zac,
So do you think I should change to Fit Content Proportionally?
And then recrop my images so the aspect ratios match my browser window or the page dimensions in Muse?
Sorry if these are stupid questions. I'm new to all this

  • Full page pull out tray, pull only object workaround

    Hi,
Is there any way yet, when creating a pull out tray/slider using the scrollable frame, to only have a object within the container pull the content, rather then being able to pull from anywhere within the container?
Basically what I am trying to do is have a pull out that when pulled out, covers the entire page, therefore the container needs to cover the entire page which disables the ability to navigate horizontally between articles, I can still navigate vertically, but not horizontally..
Does anyone know of a workaround that would enable me to have a full page pull out (container) and still be able to navigate horizontally. i.e. having only an object (the pull tab) pull the content rather then anywhere within the container.
    Thanks for you help
    Quinn

Thanks everyone for your help, however I am yet to solve this problem...
On top of the horizontally scrolling content I have created a MSO consisting of two invisible rectangle frames. Tried to see if it would work as just a MSO, nothing, turned those into a one time Auto Play Slideshow, still nothing. No matter where I pull, the content still scrolls yet I can not navigate horizontally to the next article. (Made sure I left space for the tab area, yet I can still pull from anywhere). Any other solutions/workarounds to this problem? Or if this has worked for others, possibly tell me if I am doing something incorrectly?
    Thanks again for your help.
    Quinn
PS. I am using V20 on ID 5.5

  • Is it possible to have a full page of text?

I would like to create a book with a page of just text. I cannot find a page layout that will let me do this. Has anyone been able to accomplish this task?
    IMAC   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Jonathan:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can have a full page of text but you have to create an image file of the text and put it in a one photo per page layout like this. Create the text in your text editor with the Page Setup set to Landscape. When you have the text as you want it, go to the Print window, click on the PDF button and select Send PDF to iPhoto. That will create a 200 dpi jpeg file for that page and import it into iPhoto where you can use it in the book. A word of caution: this is an Automator processs and when the conversion is done and ready to import a window will come up asking you to select an album or name a new one to put the file. This window does not always come to the front so make sure you have all other windows minimized. Then minimize iPhoto's window and you'll see the Automator window. I sat for 30 minutes the first time and aborted the process before I realized what was happening.
You can also have the text in the portrait orientation if you'd like.
With an application like Word or Pages you can fancy up the text page more than TextEdit can.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Full-screen Slideshow Set-up

I want to create custom image slides from large scale high res photos in photoshop or illustrator to use in the Full-screen Slideshow widget in Muse. What height and width dimensions should I create the original image slides in before I load them into the widget to get the best image quality without compromising page loading speed?

    Hi
This would actually depend on images that are used and how you are planning the layout on pages , as you can use split contents to lower down the loading speed or use few contents on page with high resolution.
There are resources which would give you an idea as how you can optimize the contents in best way without compromising with quality,

  • Full screen slideshow with 2 photos

    Hi,
I would like to know how to create a full sceen slideshow with two clikable photo inside, like this website : http://www.eturaweddings.com
    Thanks for your help
    David

    Hi David
This would be a bit tricky as you have to use a fullscreen widget , accordion and tooltip or any other composition inside accordion or you can use different pages to render similar effect.
    So for example
    - Insert fullscreen widget
    - Insert Accordion with page width ( Use same image which is used for fullscreen )
    - Insert a tooltip where the trigger would be half size of target container and setup the action on mouse click ( you have adjust the trigger and target in layers panel )
Sorry but that would be the workaround , I know a bit lengthy one.
Or you can create separate pages where you can use fullscreen widget for different pages using same images.
Additionally you can try to use slideshows in Muse exchange library :

  • 'Cinemagraphs' for full page ads in iPad, best approach?

    Hi, folks
I would like to know your opinion about the best strategy to prepare full page ads with short animations, the style what is nowadays known as 'cinemagraphs' (here you have some examples), just with some texts place over them. I know that animated gifs are not supported in DPS but my doubt is:
    1. Open the source video / gif in Photoshop, separate the needed pics and then prepare a short slideshow in InDesign (simple but... very limited?)
    2. Open the source video / gif in Photoshop, separate the needed pics and then prepare a short slideshow in Edge.
    3. Open the source video / gif in After Effects, make a very short video and then place that in InDesign so that it plays automatically.
I feel the third way would be the easiest and most effective, specially for people outside the Adobe DPS stuff (ads agencies and the like). But, as usual, I am not sure.
    Thanks a lot
    Gustavo (Posting from Madrid)

    Hi Gustavo,
I would suggest that you use the image sequence overlay.
If you can convert your video/gif into a sequence of frames, you can go into InDesign and create an image sequence.
This is done by dropping in the first frame of your sequence into an empty graphic object. Go to the Folio Overlays panel, select "Image Sequence",
To load in the image sequence, you need to click on the file icon next to "Load Images", and navigate to the folder where you have saved your image sequence. Note that you need to have the images all in one folder, with sequentially numbered titles. (e.g. cinemagraph0000.png cinemagraph0001.png cinemagraph0002.png cinemagraph0003.png …).
Then make sure the settings you select match the ones in the image above:
Turn on "Show First Image Initially"
    Turn on "Auto Play"
    Turn off "Tap Play/Pause"
    Delay: 0 secs
Speed: This depends on the frame rate of your image sequence. If you don't know your frame rate, try starting with 16fps, and test it in the desktop previewer, adjusting it until you get the right frame rate.
    Turn on "Loop"
Turn off "Swipe to Change Image"
This should provide you with a smoothly playing image sequence that doesn't require any action to be taken by the reader upon loading. It will loop indefinitely, and if made well, could be a pretty cool subtle addition to a spread.
PS: I'm a fan of cinemagraphs too. This blog has some of my favourites: http://iwdrm.tumblr.com/

  • How to create a full-page collage?

Am trying to find an easy way to create a full-page collage of pictures (to then save as a single photo, JPEG or PDF). Is there an easy way to do this within iPhoto '08 or a standard Mac application? (In the Cards/Calendars/Prints option of even ordering from Apple, there's no option or setting listed that I can see to create one. Are there other templates to download somewhere that I could use within iLife, or some standard application?)

    rekkus:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. OmniGraffle is a great application for creating collages. This one was 98 photos. You can use it in it's demo mode which allows 10 or less images or objects per file or project. I think if you group objects they will count as 1. Then export as a jpg or other file format.
• Full-Width slideshow appears fine in editing stage but browser preview shifts the slideshow to the left?

My problem is exactly as described from this unanswered question a couple weeks ago: slideshow within composition widget - 100%width image causes bug
I have a full width slideshow that is set to fill the browser but when previewed the page shifts the slideshow to the left. Upon a tiny 1px browser resize the slideshow will then snap back to full size and then work as intended. I have had this issue before and have no idea how to remove this invisible padding that must be occurring...

So here is a shot of what the gap looks like. I am not quite sure what you mean by setting the page resolution with 100%. I clicked the "full-width" button.. I should also mention that I have scroll effects on in the slideshow. Though no anchor points on the page means no way for the page to shift...
