Full screen capture

Using Captivate 5, I need to create a project that captures Full Screen. Everything on the monitor needs to be part of the capture. My monitor is set to display at 1024 x 768. Captivate is set to 1024 x 768 Full Screen. When capturing the slides, I am not scrolling. However, after capturing the slides, when I preview the project, I have to scroll. How can I capture the full screen and not end up with a project that requires scrolling to see the whole slide?

The unfortunate (and unvarnished) truth is that you simply can't. Sure, you can capture at full screen. No problem with that. But you have to play the darn thing back. So where does playback occur? Usually in the browser, right?
Consider the image below:
The area highlighted in Red is the space available (at least in this configuration) for presenting the Captivate output. As you can see, there is less space available because the browser itself consumes space. And that is what causes the scroll bars.

  • How to capture a selected area on iphone 5s instead of a full screen capture?

Just wonder, does anyone know how to screenshot of a selected area instead of a full screenshot on iphone?
    Thanks.

you can use the iphones default photo app.open photos app in you phone, go to the picture and click edit on the top right corner, the options are listed below

  • Am I correct in thinking that there is no way to capture a full screen on my iPhone 5?

I am under the impression that you cannot take a full screen capture of a page that requires scrolling to see all of it. The Home+Power button combo only captures the visible portion of the screen but not the rest that page. Am I right?

That is the reason it is called Screen Shot, it wil take a quick snap of whatever is there on the Screen, visible to the user at that very instant.
So the whole content capture is not possible by default features.

  • How can I create a full-screen view of Keynote slide in Snow Leopard?

How can I create a full-screen view of my Keynote slides in Snow Leopard?
I'm going to be importing into ScreenFlow to create a video.
    Thank you!!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Do you want static screen captures or motion video of slides as titles, bullet points, and the like are presented?
Run the Keynote slide presentation in full-screen mode, then...
    Static full-screen captures - use Command+Shift+3.
Static partial-screen captures - use Command+Shift+4 and use cursor to select the area of the screen to capture.
If you want motion video as builds occur, why not use Keynote's built-in Share, Export function?
    (I'm on iLife '09.)
Also understand that the default slide format for Keynote is 1024x768, not full-screen MacBook 1280x800 screen size, so you'll have wide black borders unless you change the default size or crop the finished screen captures.

  • How do I get a screen capture in Windows on MacBook?

I'm a new guy to Mac/Mountain Lion, but not to computers, so this question may be a bit dicey.
I have used Gadwin PrintScreen for years on Microsoft Machines. During Setup, I am allowed to use Ctrl+Printscreen but now I am using, only occasionally, Windows 7 x64 on a partition on my MacBook Pro/Retina. Considering that there is no Printscreen key on the keyboard, I can no longer use the configuration I am accustomed to in the Windows environment on my lovely, shiny Mac. Only combinations ofCtrl/Alt and F keys are allowed. I get "Can't use that key. Already assigned to, etc."
So then, my query is this, on the Windows side, what keyboard combo will allow me to get a full screen capture? I've tried everything and combed the Apple community to no avail. If there is no keyboard combination, what app can I use that will allow me to do so in a Windows environment on a MacBook Pro/Retina. Just a month old.
I know how to execute this on the Mountain Lion side, but that key combination doesn't cut it on the Windows side.
In closing, I hope the solution is an app download to allow me to choose a configuration.
    Thanks for reading,
    Kelly J.

Start > All Programs > Accesories > Snipping Tool > New > Full Screen Snip
Sorry I don't know of any key combinations that will do the same thing.

  • Screen capture not working.

For well over two years now by screen capture function does not work, the screen cross hair or full screen capture icons appear but after selection nothing shows on the desktop... Can someone help? I have upgraded several OS versions in this time. I've had a look through some forum answers but can't find a fix so opening this as a new discussion.

Hey... I was plugged into my 24" monitor and after unplugging it... everything works as normal... kinda weird... any other thoughts?

  • Full screen cupture

    Hello
Has anyone managed to realize a full screen capture using
camtasia or any other means with flash media server.
I would very much appreciate any answer.
    Thanks

it is possible but not easily.
you can use the new FME up to 1024x768, or the flash player
    to encode the stream.
The flash encoded stream is obviously of less quality.

  • OS X LION Issues with Full-Screen; iPhoto, Image Capture & Mail

    Hello,
I'm experiencing un-Apple-like issues (bugs) with Lion in Full-Screen mode.
For example - iPhoto doesn't seem to like Full-Screen mode. If iPhoto is open and I connect a camera, for which I prefer Image Capture to retrieve my pics... Image Capture opens 'behind' the full-screen iPhoto, but I can't get to it. Image Capture shows as open on the menu bar in iPhoto's full-screen mode. If I go to the desktop (where it should be opening) Image Capture isn't 'on top' and clicking it takes me back to iPhoto full-screen
Similarly, if I get mail and return to the desktop (the only way to see the dock) and I click on the 'Mail' app icon - I am catapulted into Image Capture... or iPhoto. Returning to the Desktop to click the Mail icon from the dock... takes me to Image Capture... or iPhoto. The 3rd try takes me to the Mail.app which is usually always open and in full-screen mode.
While I'm complaining about bugs, I'd like to mention that I am fully dismayed by the loss of control in full-screen mode when using apps such as Mail or iPhoto. The Mail app opens an email to edit (such as a reply) but you can't access any other mail docs to 'cut and paste' info from. I can only click SEND or CANCEL.
What if I don't want to CANCEL? I just want to go to another email and cut a piece to paste.. I have to exit full-screen mode which allows me to open two email documents at once, then cut and paste. Essentially Mail in Full-Screen is only a reader... not a work area. I can only access the document I have open, since it greys out the Message Viewer. You can't click on the message viewer nor access any of the features of Mail.app. You can only write your email and either Cancel or Send. Where is the 'hold on a second while I go cut and paste'? I don't want to cancel.
Can't seem to use Safari since I'm constantly three-finger swiping it away. My cursor hovers over a text field and suddenly it's zooming in and locks text input. I have to iPhone-like swipe to expand to exit this inadvertent partial (very slight) zoom. Sometimes the zoom is so partial that I can't figure out what's going on until I just exit full-screen mode, close the window and start over.
Seems like I'm starting over and over and over... just to do simple things. Inadvertent zooming, inadvertent 3-finger returning to Desktop, inadvertent changing apps... ugh.
I'm willing to let go of the old and embrace the new future but so far it's been pretty uncomfortable for me to constantly monitor my overly sensitive trackpad gesturing combined with constant bugs and glitches. I'll save complaining about iPhoto's over-simplification (apparently for dummies) like the new Edit menu, Export menu, etc.. since it's more iLife than Lion related. Rate Lion: 2 out of 5 stars for ease of use & features complicated by unrefined software issues.

I've tried follwoing these instructions but I have an issue with
    # Create snort user. The intention is to let user snort have access only to the snort database.
    $ sudo createuser -U _postgres -P snort
    Password:
    Enter password for new role:
    Enter it again:
Shall the new role be a superuser? (y/n) n
Shall the new role be allowed to create databases? (y/n) n
Shall the new role be allowed to create more new roles? (y/n) n
It keeps telling me "could not connect to database postgres: could not connect to server: No such file or directory"
I'm running OSX Mountain Lion, and have verified using serveradmin status postgres that it is up and running.

  • How to capture full screen

Can I capture full screen and save it as a image?
    Thanks

Yes, use this robot method, where the bounds it requires can come from GraphicsEnvironment.

  • Capture full screen dos app.

Is it possible to capture dos app that runs in full screen mode (The output is sort of some graphics written in C)

Because this graphics mode always runs in full screen. So, i'm unable to capture screen with ease by Printscreen button.
Am I ritght that your suggesstion about Robot class is related to emulate PrintScreen button and process the image stored in clipboard?

  • How to create a full phone image from a Screen Capture?

I have an app that I'm trying to market and want to use a full image of the iPhone with screen shots from my app
The image would look similar to this
    http://draykenobi.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/iphone-app-store1.jpg
The difference is that my screen capture would be shown on the iPhone. I know how to do the screen capture, but I really like the look with the phone around it.
I have photoshop, but can't seem to find any templates where I could just add my screen shot into the psd.
Does anyone know of how I can achieve this easily. Maybe there's an app that does this?
    Thanks

hi there. i'm new here. i'm trying to find a way to connect a cam to my mac and be able to have full screen live feedback and then (as seamlessly as possible) start a pre-recorded material of the same situation. this is for a performace i'm tryin to put together for a festival.
i suppose it's a sort of composite using live and recoded material..
    anyone any ideas.... thoughts..... anything???

  • Full-screen (spacebar) preview quality testing

[For background story, please read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1056763 but be warned, it's very l-o-n-g!]
In brief: some people have noted that Bridge full-screen (spacebar) previews (FSPs) don't accurately reflect the sharpness of a photograph. Sometimes this can be explained by individual configuration problems, but it's clear that this is a common issue amongst people using Bridge to assess/score photograph sharpness, without having to build/examine 100% previews for every image.
[It's worth noting that one common reason why FSPs aren't very sharp is because the Bridge advanced preference "Generate Monitor-Size Previews" hasn't been ticked, as this produces a higher resolution image cache.  Another cause of very fuzzy previews is random and unexplained, but can usually be solved by restarting Bridge and/or clearing the cache for the selection.]
This discussion concerns the lack of sharpness seen only in FSPs.  It can be described as "a subtle but significant loss of detail and sharpness, similar to a slightly out of focus photograph"; imagine a photo with a little bit of blur filter, or a Photoshop PSD at a non-standard zoom setting.  This "softening" of the image is caused by Bridge asking the graphics processor to resize the image cache to fit the display.  If you select the Bridge advanced preference "Use Software Rendering", you can improve a poor FSP slightly, at the expense of speed, by bypassing the graphics processor.
    The test
Visit this web page and download the last image ("2362x3543 pixel, 4.5 Mb") to your computer.
Browse to this image in Bridge, and view it full-screen by pressing Spacebar.  Take a screen capture, and save it as a TIFF or PSD.
Adjust your slideshow settings (Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-L), picking "Scaled to Fill", then click on "Play".  Save the screen capture, as above.
You now have two screen captures: one FSP, and one cache JPEG reference shot.  Examine them side by side at 100%, or layer them in Photoshop and use the hide layer button to flick between images.  Pay particular attention to the two left-hand photos, the sharpness check text, and the converging lines.
Make a note of your computer's operating system, graphics processor and driver version, as well as your largest display's pixel dimensions.
Post this information below, together with high quality (10) JPEGs of both screen captures, labelled FSP and REF, and any observations, so we can all see.

OK, it usually takes me a while to let the penny drop, especially when it comes to maths...
I also am busy with the transition of my new Mac pro but with al this here are my results. I include several screenshots but due to upload limit of 2 MB per image in here I downsized the original screenshots a lot, but hopefully it will be clear.
For full screen screenshots I have the asked FSP and REF but also the 100% preview in Bridge with space bar and click. Don't know what your file size is but using EOS 1Dx with 18 MP CR2 files (converted to DNG) it does take me about 1,5 - 2 seconds for both loupe and FSP to build a 100 % preview, and I seem to recall this was not very different behavior on my previous (6 year old) Mac Pro.
You are right (of course... :-) ) regarding the difference between FSP and REF, when studying closely there is a significant detail difference between the FSP and the REF. However, only the 100 % preview matches the original jpeg. The FSP file is on closer look not so good with details but the REF file is only slightly better, both are not correct and therefor the 100 % is still needed.
    Here is the FSP screenshot:
    and here the REF screenshot:
also the 100 % preview in full screen screenshot:
and finally a composed file with details from original, 100 % REF and FSP:
As said before, at first sight I can't spot significant difference between all options and the full screen (as the preview panel HQ preview) let's me spot the vast majority of unsharpness issues, hence my multiple rounds of sorting and incases of doubt the 100 % option.
So while your theory is correct I'm afraid I  (still) doubt the usefulness of this all. If neither the FSP and the REF (although the latter does show a bit better result) can match the results of the original but the 100 % does it well I don't see an easy solution for improvement.
I agree with the quality from the screenshots Curt provided, but Curt also uses the embedded thumbnail instead of HQ preview option. Depending on his needs and hard ware availability it would be nice to see new results with the HQ and monitor sized previews options enabled.

  • JInternalFrame Full Screen Exclusive mode lag Windows 7?

<font size=2>Hi everyone I'm not sure if i'm posting this question in the right category so feel free to move it. I recently have been playing around with full screen exclusive mode and JInternalFrames. Now what iv'e noticed is on every platform i've tried it works fine. When clicking and dragging the JInternalFrame to a new location it is quick and responsive. However when doing this same operation in Windows 7 the JInternalFrame lags significantly behind the mouse location as i'm dragging the internal frame. I haven't had a chance to test this on any other Windows platforms such as Vista or XP but I don't think it happens on those platforms, at least I don't remember this ever happening when I had Windows Vista and it doesn't occur in Mac OS 10.6.
The following are the circumstances i've found that produce this problem:
*1. The program is set to Full Screen Exclusive mode.*
*2. You are using Windows 7 (possibly other Windows platforms)*
*3. Click and drag a JInternalFrame to a new location.*
I've tried several things to see if it fixes the problem such as setting the look and feel to cross platform but nothing helps. In fact when the LAF is set to cross platform it is even worse.
Now i'm new to Full Screen Exclusive mode so i'm guessing (hoping) this is a problem caused by an error on my part. Here is the source code, i'd appreciate it if you give it a try. My question is how do I fix this lag so that the JInternalFrame is quick and responsive to the user dragging the window and i'm also wondering if this only happens on Windows 7 so if anyone could also tell me if they experience the problem I am describing and the OS you are using that would be great. Thank you guys :)
Also any input about wether i'm setting up full screen exclusive mode correctly would be much appreciated too.</font>

I don't see the lag you describe. There's some flicker when moving the internal frame around rapidly (it looks as if the borders follow the content a split second later, but can't be caught in a screen capture) but that's no different when I show the internal frame in a normal (not full screen) window.

db<font size=2>Thanks for your reply and thanks for testing out my code. Could this lag be something wrong with my VM on Windows 7, cause the lag is extremely bad as in it takes a couple seconds for the internal frame to catch up with the mouse. I also just noticed that any other components in full screen exclusive mode on Windows 7 lag as well. Such as scrolling though a large amount of text, the scroll bar will lag far behind the mouse location and take a couple of seconds to catch up even when the mouse is moving fairly slow. I was hoping it was something in the code I was doing wrong but I guess not? Any suggestions on how I could fix this problem? It really makes my applications appear sluggish. For example when you click on a normal window such as in Windows Explorer and drag it to a new location the mouse stays in a fixed position on the window while you are dragging it. However with this lag the mouse appears to be "detatched" from the window and does not stay in the same location on the window while dragging. Does anyone else experience this or is this normal? I'm using Windows 7 64bit but I don't think that would make any difference. I'd also like to point out that I'm using Java 6 update 21 I don't know if that would make a difference opposed to update 17.
    Thanks again.</Font>

  • Flash Player doesn't play smoothly and out of sync in full screen

    Hello! Everyone
The flash player (11.2.202.235) does not play smoothly and in full screen audio and vidoe is out of sync.  I didn't use to have any problem at all, it only started about two weeks ago and since then despite trying various things (i.e. disabling hardware excelration, uninstalling & reinstalling, trying various browsers etc.) has not resolved the issue.  I don't know why it has suddenly stopped playing smoothly as I have not installed any software recently which might have cuased this.
I am using Windows XP (service pack3) and have dual partion with dual operating system (both XP).  There is the same problem on both operarting system and flash player won't run smoothly on either of them.  Although my computer and graphics card is quite old but the downloaded movies/DVD playback is fine even in full screen.  It runs smoothly and audio&video is in sync so I don't think it could my the graphics card.
As I mentioned I have tried all the browsers but without any luck.  The BBC iplayer plays ok most of the time if not in full screen but as soon as you make it full screen the vidoe is more like a slide show and very jittery and audio&video gets out of sync.  Same with youtube vidoes, they play ok when not in full screen but the video in full screen does not play smoothly and audio&vidoes gets out of sync.  However the ITV player & Channel 4 content on 4OD does not even play smoothly when not in full screen and the video&audio is out of sync all the time.
It would be really helpful if anyone can suggest anything to resolve this issue as I have not been able to find anything on the internet to solve the problem and its driving me up the wall.  Although I have tried to include as much details as I could think of so please let me know if I have missed any details that could be crucial in order to identify the problem.
Thank you very much for reading this and taking the time to reply and your feedback.

Would you mind opening a new bug on this at bugbase.adobe.com?  Please include your dxdiag report, a specific URL and a link to this forum thread.
In the meantime, you might want to try our 11.3 beta or rollback to a previous version of the player to see if that resolves the problem.
    Thanks,
    Chris
