Full screen changes in pages update

I love the new look, however one of the great features of pages was an isolated view, essentially a blank piece of paper on a black screen. It prevented distractions while I was typing. However now when I go into "full screen" I have to set options in order to even get close to the way it was before, including removing a toolbar as when I'm in full screen mode it's just a full screen with a toolbar and the side format bar.
I really don't like this, they're starting to think like Microsoft with the crazy 3 step process, so I have to resort to creating an Automator action in order to get a somewhat still not a white sheet on black look but I'll take it.
If anyone knows how to fix it, I'd greatly appreciate it!

If you used Pages 3/iWork '08, Pages 4/iWork '09 will use the same preferences. Since full-screen (& other features) didn't exist in '08, your toolbar won't show them. You can customize the toolbar by going to View > Customize Toolbar… (the very bottom of the list) or by right- or Control-clicking on the toolbar & choosing Customize Toolbar… from the contextual menu.
Could you possibly have opened Pages 3? Full screen is an option in my View menu in Pages 4.

Since updating my iPad to iOS 5.1 and the subsequent Pages update, I seem to have lost the full screen mode. There used to be a little diagonal arrow in the top right of the screen to view full screen with none of the option icons. Is this now gone in ios5.1 update or can I just not find it?

Books - no full-screen view of page?

I would find it useful to be able to see a page of an Aperture Book I'm working on in full-screen mode. I don't find a way to do it. Full-screen mode works on an image from the Browser strip below the book-edit Viewer, or an image from the page, but not on the page itself. I just want to see a single page at 100% (or slightly more) with a black background, so as to check composition and detail in the same view.
Before I put this in as a feature request, though, I thought I should ask if I'm just missing it somewhere.

Sorry Charles - I mis-interpreted what you said as a request for having the book or light-table open full-screen on the second monitor.
If an image on the page is selected in the
book-editor viewer, pressing F brings the image into
full-screen mode. If you deselect the image (select
the whole page, or nothing, in the viewer), pressing
F yields a full-screen mode which is completely black.
I saw there was a Bagelturf article on laying out books and full-screen mode, but it was only to adjust one image.
But yes, the ability to have a full-screen book or light table or web-gallery layout (on either monitor) would be very good).
I was excited myself as I thought full-screen mode would work, and was going to rush home to try it, but alas it's not to be.

Full screen images on page?

I would like to have full screen images on a page that fits to most browsers. I don't know what would be the best width in order to acomplish that.

Preview full screen defaulting single page view

Hello All,
I like the full screen feature in OS Lion. This way i use Preview to read articles. When i open a doc, full screen mode gives two adjacent pages default view.
I want to open an article an display it default as single page continuous.
Is it possible ?

I don't know, since I rarely use it w/19" monitor, but you can file an enhancement report (or bug report) with Apple, via its Bug Reporter system. Join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. You'll get a get a Bug (ER) ID number; thus, starting a dialog directly with engineering.

Preview pdf full screen shows double pages after page 1

How can I get Preview to show single pages in fullscreen mode? It keeps showing the 2nd and 3rd page (and so on) of any pdf side by side on the screen. Single page display in a window works fine, but when swithcing to full screen it always displays it as a two-page layout.

I don't have CS4 but in CS3 I could get the same results as "use software rendering" as when I clicked on "restore down" (middle symbol in upper rt corner of windows screen) even though I enlarged the window to full screen.
In maximize window mode I had several problems with the preview without software rendering, and knew my video card was weak point. I know this is not the same issue but does not cost anything to try it. Don't know why it worked either.

How to display full screen in landing page

Full Screen mode in Pages

Is there a way to toggle between multiple pages documents in full screen mode?

Each full-screen Pages document gets its own desktop "space." You can use the usual shortcuts to toggle between them.
On a laptop, you can use the three-finger swipe left and right.
On a laptop or desktop, you can use Control-Right Arrow or Control-Left Arrow.

Dynabook G9: Toshiba splash screen changed after trying update BIOS

Good day, everybody!
It's not a problem, but I'd like to know how it could happen... so I have a laptop "Dynabook G9" which was bought in Japan. It's like satellite 5200 series... When I turned it on, the logo "DYNABOOK" displayed and computer kept loading... few days ago I tried to update BIOS but downloaded update from Russian Toshiba website for 5200 series... cause there is no update for BIOS on Japanese site...
When I ran downloaded file it said that I have BIOS v 1.40 and it can not be updated to v 1.50 because it's not for my laptop... so my idea to use update for European laptops did not work... but the question is that now I have "in touch with tomorrow Toshiba" logo instead of "DYNABOOK" and how could it happen? And how can I get it back?
Computer still working fine... but.. I don't know... I just like "DYNABOOK" logo more :-)
P.S. may be it changed not after trying to update the BIOS (I'm not really sure) but it definitely changed.

Dear Andrey problem is that Toshiba does not produce notebooks as world wide product and there are several global areas: US market, EMEA area (Europe-Middle East-Africa) and also Asia. I do not know for sure if Japan is separately market but I think it is.
So notebooks produced in every of those areas are adapted for each of them. Because of that you can not mix BIOSes and Toshiba designed tools and utilities. I believe that in most of cases it can work but it is not for sure. For EMEA notebook it is recommended to use BIOS and other stuff explicit from Toshiba Europe support page. For US notebooks there are all drivers, tools and utilities on Toshiba US support page.
Now you have Japanese notebook and use non-Japanese BIOS or software. For me it is logic that some changes will happen. I do not believe that someone has good experiences with this but you should be happy your notebook works well.
Thats all what I can say about that.

Screen change color after update

i just recently update mt daughter Ipad 2. Now it restarted and screen color are different, How can i fix this problem

Then go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Invert Colors and turn that OFF.
If that doesn't work try restarting or resetting your iPad:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost.

Sidebar - with 1 click how do I minimise so I see full screen of current page

Do I need 'Add-on' to minimise the Bookmark sidebar? It is something that was available previously

If you are using the '''Sidebars''' button that you retrieved from the Customize Palette, you can use the X in the upper-right corner of the Sidebar to close the Sidebar.
As mentioned - '''{ Ctrl + B }''' opens or closes the Bookmarks Sidebar.

How can I change the background colour when working on a doc in full screen view (pages)?

Recently I have been working on docs without the distraction of having to see my desktop around my page file by using the full screen view in pages. I do find the contrast to an all black screen too harsh though and it makes my eyes more tired than seeing the clutter of my desktop around the page. Is there any way I can change the background colour?

When you are in Full screen mode move the cursor up to the top to show the Format bar. Then look to the far right. There you'll see Background and a rectangle. Click on the rectangle and change the colour.

Background color in Pages 5.5.2. full screen mode

I updated to Yosemite, and my Pages updated to 5.5.2. It used to be that when I went into full screen mode in Pages, the background color was black. Now when I enter full screen mode, the background color is pale. Is there a way to change it back to black?

There is no control over background color with Pages v5.5.2 in full-screen, or normal mode. If you had Pages '09 installed before the installation of Pages v5, then it was silently moved to /Applications/iWork '09. You could use the older Pages and have your black background.

Pages '09 in full screen tooltip appears on other Spaces

Hi all,
I'm using Lion 10.7.1, Pages '09 (4.1, 923) on a mid-2010 13" Macbook Pro.
I love the full screen view on Pages and I use four desktops with Spaces. In the last couple of days I've used one of Pages' Newsletter templates (doesn't matter which, they all do it) and with Pages full screen if I switch to another Space and rest the mouse over a point on screen where there's an image on the Pages Space, the "This image is a placeholder. Drag a new media file here to replace it." yellow tooltip comes up. If I move the mouse onto the tooltip and click the screen slides back to Pages. This is pretty annoying if, say, on that other Space I'm using another application, the Pages tooltip comes up just before I click, and suddenly the focus changes back to Pages.
Doesn't happen with Keynote or Numbers when using their templates that have placeholder images.
Can someone check if this behavious is consistent and does anybody have any suggestions how to stop it?

Personally I never upgrade to a new OSX till it reaches version x.3
With Lion I may make that an exception and wait till it is v x.13 or higher, or maybe never. I am so glad I bought my iMac before Apple enforces Lion on all their latest models.
Lion is looking more like Vista every day.

Can I change the transition animation in Preview's full-screen mode?

When moving through a PDF file in Preview's full-screen mode, the pages slide off to the left/right when using arrow keys (up when using the space bar). I discovered that I can skip this animation by holding down the option key when I hit the arrow key, or by using a four-finger swipe. But I'd like to use my remote to advance pages in the PDF, and I'd like to get rid of the transition animations permanently. Is there a way to customize the transition animation preference? I don't see anything in the Preferences to do this.

Just as an update, Ralph explained (here) that in Snow Leopard, the iChat application no longer gets it's speed values from QuickTime.
