Full screen contact pictures
I just got an iphone 4s and I would like to have my contact pictures be full screen when they call. When I try to edit the picture under their name in contacts, the picture appears blurry. All pictures have been taken with my iphone. Please help!
Hi Ipen,
Have you found the cause/solution? I'm having the exact same problem. It started after upgrading to an iPhone 5S with iOS 7, but I don't know if that's the culprit or not.
One specific detail of my setup — I'm syncing my iPhone contacts with Google Contacts via CardDAV. Are you?
Thanks,
Jake

Okay...what happened to the full screen contact picture?
Okay...what happened to the full screen contact picture? Is there a way to get it back? I'd like to see the full picture of the person I'm calling-not just an ugly blank screen with little round circles on it!!!!
I wrote my feedback there. Please everyone leave your feedback. The new 7.1 design is very impractical.
Why they crave so much about these ugly circles? There are lots of unused space available on the screen.
Please bring back the big rectangular buttons!!!!!!
And full-screen contact picture when someone's calling. -
Please go back to the full screen contact picture! I didn't know what was happening until I looked at this forum. Why would you change something that works fine?

I'm trying to find an outlet for the frustration I feel regarding the "upgrade" that replaced my full screen picture for my contact numbers to a tiny, little dot in the right hand corner. Are they going to give us an option to go back or did someone just need to justify their job by making changes??

Full screen contact picture lost iPhone 6 plus
upgraded my iphone 5 to ios8 and i was so pleased to see the return of fullscreen contact pictures for incoming calls. After getting an iphone 6+ today I am disappointed to see this return to the small round picture at the top of the screen. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Hello everyone. No one is missing a setting or need to do a bodoo ritual to get a full sized photo on incoming call in an iphone. The answer is simple since the phone in his original position has an aspect radio of 9:16 to the phone display a picture in full screen at the incoming call the picture needs to be in the same aspect ratio so there is no blank spaces anywhere and the software proceed to display the contact picture. Also the picture has to stay in your library.
The procedure to do this in iOS 8:
1- Go to Photos>Camera Roll> Select the picture you wanna set as contact.
2- Touch "Edit" in the right superior corner.
3- Inside Edit mode touch the tool to resize.
4- Set the grid to a position taller than wide.
5- Touch the scale icon in the lower right corner of the screen. Is the one above the "Done" button.
6- Select the last option that reads: "9:16" that is related to the aspect ratio for the selected area.
7- Adjust your image zooming or moving until it reach the desired one.
8- Hit done.
9- Now in Camera Roll set the image to the contact desired. It's done.
Enjoy. -

I bought Iphone Only for full screen contact image
Is that so? So you don't use ANY of the other features of the iPhone? You don't use the internet, apps, play games, make calls, take pictures, or ANYTHING else at all? You just wanted full-screen contact image?
I don't believe you...
Please make changes for contact image for for full screen

I have just updated to iOS 8 and I am trying to get full screen contact photos instead of the small circle in the corner.
Hey Haigh2911,
Thanks for the question. Yes, full screen call pictures have returned in iOS 8 for incoming calls. You’ll want to attach a photo to your contact’s card in the Contacts app:

Full screen contact pic troubles
full screen contact pic not possible even after 1.reset my iphone 2. take photo from phone camera in Edit Contact 3.Change Camera to HDR and interestingly, after saving pic in contact it reverts back to small pic again after a while though a couple of times full screen pic is shown while dialling out or in. But always it becomes a Thumbnail later ! Also, my son's photo is taken from the gallery after I took his pic from the phone and now it is perfect though my other family members and friend's pics do not behave that way even though I have erased the name and inserted it again from scratch - its the same ! And I have noticed , some contacts are possible with full screen pics and some don't though the process is exactly the same ! And no. no Facebook connection either. Like my wife's profile does not exists in the Facebook.

How to get full screen contact image in iOS 7.1
There is lot of UI tweaks in 7.1, The main feature which was showcased on debut was full screen contact images. New update got rid of this or anyway around to get this feature
It seems the apple have removed off this feature, they had a very thing show off in WWDC by Craig. Hope they bring it back in next update

Full-Screen Contact ID Photo vs. Thumbnail
I have tried various methods of assigning a picture to my contacts. I would like the photo to show up as a full screen picture when the contact calls me, but right now it only pops up as a thumbnail in the upper right next to the name. Is there an easy fix for this short of downloading and individually assigning each picture on the phone? That is a very cumbersome prospect. I use the Address Book application on my desktop to sync contacts every time I sync my phone. Perhaps there is a preference in Address Book, iTunes or on my iPhone that I need to click (or unclick) to allow full-size syncing?
Then try using a smaller resolution. I don't see much need in using a really high quality image, with a large resolution to be viewed as a little thumbnail for just a couple of seconds when the person calls.

My contact photo won't display full-screen. This has been going on since the last update a fewdays ago. I looked on the web for suggestions, but couldn't find any info since the last update to 7.1
This happened on a previous update, tried the delete photo and then add like I did last time, but the only option seems to be the circle photo. I am not linking through facebook or any other service for the photo, I have used this picture before.
iPhone 5
Any ideas? thanks, billYou would have to complain to apple and request to get it back
I did and told them to at least give us the choice to choose
The only way to fix this is to voice our feedback

Full screen caller picture on iOS 7.1?
Now that iOS 7.1 is out I successfully upgraded my iPhone 5.
It changes the full screen pictures to a small picture in a circle. It used to be more
aesthetically pleasing, showed more information at a glance, it's totally beyond me while they would change something that looked so good.
Is there any way to restore the full screen caller images?Dearest Apple I love your designs and so I am going to cut you some slack but please fix. Tnis is how serious it is : I am on iPhone since 3GS. This is the first time ever i am not going to upgrade on the very day the new iOS came out. I am not going to upgarde despite the fact that my iPhone 5S crashes and restarts two times a day without an apparent reason and iOS7.1 apparently fixes that. I am not going to upgrade despite the fact that since 4S I am looking to change the Siri UK English voice to female and now I could. I will eventually have to upgrade when I buy a CarPlay compatible car but you will have fixed it by then and all will be forgotten;)

Full screen mode: Picture becomes for one second blur
Now I noticed an additional strange behaviour.
I rendered all preview during the day.
I review all my pictures in full screen mode:
Open next picture
The whole picture is sharp
One second later: The picture becomes a little bit blur
An additional second later: The picture is sharp again
Open next picture: same happens again...
Open previous picture: It does not happen
Any idea?Barteg wrote:
But Bridge has a much better preview handling and better performance then Lightroom.
It does also automatically update the previews. And you don't have to invoke that manually :-(
Indeed. - I've always had a love/hate relationship with Lightroom - so cool in so many ways, and falls short in so many others...
If you're going to use it, you have to work around (or work with/within) it's limitations... - sorry.

When switching to 'Full Screen' view I'm finding the picture breaks up and/or pixelates? Any suggestions as to why this may be happening?
Tony,
The images are are all in the range 8-14 mpixels. File sizes are ca. 5MB and ca.12MB for RAW images. I'm not sure whether RAW images are giving this break-up of the Full Screen view or purely JPEGs. I will look into this when the problem recurrs.
I'm certain the problem is not occurring due to zooming, but is apparent with normal, but edited images when I switch to Full Screen. It is an intermittent problem. When it occurrs shutting down A3 and restarting does not seem to resolve the problem, but I believe rebooting my iMac does - at least for a while.
As a relatively new user I'm afraid I don't really follow your Point 2. In A3 Preferences, the Previews are set to "half size". Are the Master Images not just the unedited version of the photo in Split View that I am looking to view in Full Screen?
Certainly, if/when this problem recurrs I will try pressing M in Split View, and then viewing the Master Image in Full Screen to see if the problem disappears. However, I don't really want to view the original image, but the edited image.
Apologies if my responses are rather simplistic, but any further suggestions would be welcome
Alan
