Full-screen frame iconify when losing focus
This is most annoying.. Running an application that shows a frame in fullscreen (Exclusive mode) on a secondary monitor but everytime it loses focus, i.e. clicking somewhere on the primary monitor the application iconifies. To restore the frame I have to setExtendedState() back to NORMAL and thus it gains the focus again, practically unable any work outside the frame.
I run on WinXP and it's the same on other WinXP computers.

This issue still seems to be around with Pepper-flash 11.8.800-129 and is indeed a flash related problem.
This behavior has been corrected on Windows for a while, but completely ignored for Linux users. The problem has been reported several times upstream, but the bug reports end up being closed or ignored.
Is there any way to correct this by setting up a specific rule in Awesome?
I've read on other topics that the flash overlay, when used from Firefox, has "Plugin-container" as a WM_CLASS, which would then allow to create a rule to maybe change the original behavior. The problem is that when using Chromium and Pepper-Flash, the flash overlay is identified as WM_CLASS=chromium.
Anyway, if anyone has found an Awesome based workaround, please share it.

Move your cursor way over to the right side of the window. There should be a thin bar. when you hover over the left side of the thin bar, the cursor will change to a vertical bar with an arrow sticking out the left. Click and drag to the left.

Variable - Constant Frame Rate Explanation
First, the variable frame rate mention and any problems that might be expected if your iPad video was recorded with a variable rather than constant frame rate. Some cameras (such a cell phone, iPod, probably iPad) record video not at one frame rate across the whole video recording. Instead, they record with a variable frame rate depending usually on the lighting conditions during video recording. One way to know what your recording device is using is to view the MediaInfo video audio properties readout. If you have a constant frame rate, you will see just one frame rate listed. If variable, you should see 3 frame rates listed minimum, maximum, and mid range frame rate.

This situation may or may not cause problems for you in Premiere Elements. The signs of problems are usually out of sync audio and you just cannot import the video into the project. If this type of problem, then you take your video into a program such as HandBrake to generate a file with a constant rather than variable frame rate. Then you import the file with the constant frame rate into your Premiere Elements project. http://handbrake.fr/
Again, this may or may not create problems.
The Generalized Project Workflow
There is no problem to setup up your Timeline physically. The iPad video with go to Video Track 1 and Audio Track 1. The video is imported into the project linked to it audio portion. And, the Full Screen Text Files will be on Video Track 2 directly above the related content. Now here is the part that I am not yet clear on. Is the Full Screen Text for a given portion of video supposed to synchronize word for word with what you are saying in the audio on Audio Track 1? That will involve a mapping out part with regard to duration of each of the Full Screen Text files. Will these Full Screen Text files be readable against the video representing the background? Font style and size and color will be major considerations as well as getting the text file to be on screen long enough to be readable even with Font style, size, and color considerations.
The fact that you focus on audio loss in all this makes me wonder if I am missing a vital part of what you want to do. The loss of audio concern that you mention does not seem like a prime factor unless you are referring to sync between the texts and what it is supposed to correspond to in the audio of the video.
Please review and consider and then, based on your reply, I will offer a mini demo to see if we are OK on the details.

Need help to play a DV file in full screen mode w/o losing resolution
I just finished a 20 minute film using iMovie, and in order to share it, I created a Quicktime DV File using the Full Quality mode. However, when I play the obtained Quicktime file in full screen, the images become blurry and the titles are unreadable, so I am forced to sticking to the standard size (which is relatively small).
I need to project this video THIS SAME WEEK on a screen in front of a large crowd and the largest screen size for Quicktime to avoid pixelation is very small (1/6 of my screen).
Is there any way in which I can get a larger resolution DV file than the one iMovie creates? How can I share this with the audience w/o having to project it from the original iMovie file?
HELP PLEASE...!!!!! I am desperate, so any urgent advice will be greatly appreciated. And please note I am a novice at iMovie (first time I used it). Any help to increase the resolution quality of my DV file will be EXTREMELY HELPFUL.

For faster editing iMovie 08 & 09 uses single-field processing. This means every other horizontal line of the video is thrown out, which reduces the sharpness of the footage. iMovie 06 uses all of the image, I think you will find it looks better.
iMovie 06 and iDVD 09 is a terrific combination. -
Bookmark bar is auto hidden in fullscreen mode, how to keep same functionality in normal mode out of full-screen?
In full-screen I just have the main toolbar showing, which is how I want it all the time. This or either make "full-screen" a lot better.Hmm, i think i phrased original question badly, i am looking for auto-hide to be featured in normal window mode as well as fullscreen, and whatever else designers and programmers can dream up and not execute poorly.
I have now disabled all EXTENSIONS and removed all 3rd party bars (google, sharethis, never used nayway;) and as my suspicions confirmed Safari is running much better. I was very suspicious of this when it was added as it seemed like trying to match Firefox, which I also gave up some time ago in place of Chrome as my second browser, although I use Safari for 90%. The extensions i think causes freezing when i had Parallels running a Windows VM at the same time and also other times when not.
The extensions is a bit stupid in my opinion as any niggling, minor feature of a website should be addresses to the website rather than the browser. Where adverts are concerned, well, just use the web less or more specifically!
I think I'm fine with Toolbar/URL-search and bookmark bar, its great - simple and not intrusive. I believe EXTENSIONS introduction gave me some sort of weird mental outlook and would urge Apple to be more careful in bringing in different types of features unnecessarily. -
Full screen windows dissappears when activating guake
I'm running Arch in i a VirtualBox, using Gnome 3.10.2. I also use guake. Whenever I summon guake, any fullscreen window in the background disappears, or is hidden. At least this happens with both Firefox and gvim. I can switch back to these windows with alt + tab, so they're not gone, just temporarily hidden. I find this quite annoying, as I like to have guake transparent, to be able to see what's underneath it when typing commands.
Any ideas as to how I can change this behaviour? And is there any more information I should post? Being a Mac user I'm not quite used to the large number of options when setting up an installation.Oh thank God. I've been struggling with this very issue for months with my task bar obscuring Flash video in full-screen, which really sucks since that's where the video controls are.
I knew it was the DPI setting and I'm absolutely flabbergasted that Adobe hasn't accounted for this on a piece of software that is pretty much essential to using the internet and when most people are using HD displays.
After reading this fix, I immediately browsed to C:\Program Files(x86)\Mozilla Firefox and right clicked Properties on the plugin-container application. Right there on the Compatibility tab is the option Disable scaling on high DPI settings. Checked the box and imediatly full-screened the first flash video I could find. Problem solved, didn't even have to reboot the browser.

Full screen is black when using windows media player on Equium series

When i watch TV on the windows media player so I have problem. If I switch on full screen so there is just black screen but I can hear sounds.
Watching DVD is OK.
I've got my laptop for 4 months but everything was ok.
This problem started just now maybe 2 days ago. I think i've done something but i don't know what and i can't fix it.
I've done restoring OS but it didn't help.

I know that problem, its just a bug with the media player and the graphics drivers (Its mainly the media player causing the error). Please, if you want to watch something on the TV then the playback must be STOPPED BEFORE you switch the screen. After you switched the screen, activate the playback and it should work.
Otherwise go to the site of www.videolan.org, download the latest version of the VLC player and do it with him, it should work for sure. I never start the playback of some movie or whatever when the screen was not changed before to the TV as the only screen.

I think the question pretty well summed it up. I selected full screen mode from the "firefox" drop-down box at the top left, but once in full screen mode, the drop-down box is not available. How do I get back to the standard view??
Press the F11 key to toggle into and out of full screen mode.
Or, move the mouse pointer to the top of the screen and right-click the "+" (new tab) button, or in a blank area of the tab bar, or in a blank area after the address box, and exit full screen mode from the context menu. -

Dialog title shows weird characters when losing focus
Hi all,
a localized application with two configured languages has problems with the title of a modal dialog. Opening the dialog works fine, the text is displayed properly. After klicking into the main screen (so the modal dialog loses the focus), some weird characters are displayed in the title (looks chinese). The buttons that are localized with the same resourcebundle stay normal. Does anybody know this problem?

This problem does not occur at all workstations. Some do not have this problem at all. But it's all on Windows XP SP 1.
Maybe a threading problem? I cannot imagine.........

Windows Vista update has disabled full screen minimize feature when watching videos
After recent Vista update I can no longer connect to hyperlinks in emails and fullscreen video function disables functionality and I can no longer stop or minimize videos until a system reboot. Hoe do I restore to before the update?
It was an Explorer update not Vista. Any help appreciated

With firefox open and a full screen game open, if i alt-tab out of the full screen game and then try to click back into the game the game will minimize and i will be back on my desktop. This issue can sometimes be fixed by clicking repeatedly as the full screen game tries to occupy focus. Most of the time the window minimizes and i am back at my desktop. This problem continues to occur until i close firefox.
Force quit just the game itself.
Command + option + esc
It's like control + alt + delete on Windows. -

Does anyone know how to use the "Move focus to next window" sortcut when in "full screen" mode?
When using a smaller screen (Macbook Air) full screen mode is a nice idea but I keep turning it off becauase the normal shortcut doesn't work.

CheersI can't duplicate your problem with my setup. Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and see if that will help. Often a damaged or corrupted pref file will cause some very unusual performance issues with iPhoto.
Also you can try rebuilding the library while selecting just the option to rebuild the database.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file. -
Subtitle text position off when in full screen
I'm adding captioning/subtitles to my video (FLVPlaybackCaptioning) using dfxp.xml files. Everything works great when the video plays at it's initial resolution (640 x 360). The positioning of the captions is perfect. But I've included a Full Screen button and when the video goes full screen, the captions appear but their position is off. They are higher on the screen and they actually move upward 1 or 2 lines after they initially appear. I cannot seem to control this and am not sure why it only happens in full screen mode. In the component inspector I have set autoLayout to true and to false and it does not effect the captions one way or another. I cannot seem to find any support for this. Any help greatly appreciated.
I've worked around this by placing the captions in a Text area below the movie. It works fine. But when I go full screen the captions remain the same size since I have had to turn off AutoLayout to get them to display in the Text Area. Anyone know how I can resize the captions automatically when the user clicks Full Screen?

Yosemite Finder: bug when dragging files in full screen
I use my Finder in full screen mode.
When I drag files through some folders, the entire content of the window moves up so that I cannot see the top files in any column anymore.
The only solution to this bug is to end full screen and then start full screen again.
Is this really a bug or a function I do not understand? And how can I prevent this from happening, because it is really annoying?
I encountered this bug on my old iMac 27" and my new iMac 5K.

Getting a blue sky with a D200? Not cyan, not magenta.
