Full Screen Photos on 5S

How come when I take photos with the 5S in landscape mode and NOT using Square, the photos do not fill up the screen also in landscape orientation? I don't recall that every happening with my 4S.
Thanks.

The iPhone 5s's screen happens to be of a different aspect ratio than the photos it takes. The photos are actually much bigger than your iPhone's screen, so they are displayed smaller so that you can see the whole thing at once. Since the aspect ratios are different, there is inevitably some space left over, so that space is filled with black.
If you really care about having your photos fill the screen, you can tap the "edit" button to crop the photos to a 16:9 aspect ratio.

  • Full screen photo as caller ID

Hi, is there a way to have full screen photo as caller ID even if I have my contacts synced with gmail. Otherwise is there a way to unsync contacts without have them deleted from iPhone?
    Many thanks.
    Ciao, Andrea

    screen caller id photo.
    I found this page:
    http://www.apple.com/accessibility/iphone/vision.html
    Which has this information:
"You can even set incoming calls to display a full-screen image or photo of the caller."
But, I checked all the options under accessibility, and I can't find a way to do this.
Like Genuis2000, I have tried setting the photo by:
1 - Using an existing Photo
2 - Taking a new photo with the iPhone and using that.
Either way, it only shows a little thumbnail photo when the person calls.

  • HT1245 Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s.

Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s. I have looked onlime at several threads and there are no real answers as to what I need to do or am doing wrong.

I am also having this issue.
I've just spoken to someone in the Apple Support Centre who advised me that since the product is in beta, he is unable to assist. I wanted to find out whether someone was able to delete the data for me, or 'reset' the photos app somehow. This apparently cannot be done. He suggested I provide feedback via the feedback page, which I will do, but to be honest doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in the issue being fixed.
I also deactivated the service and waited the 30 days for the pictures to be deleted - this should have been completed in mid-January. Instead, my iCloud.com Photos page is now showing the photos that should have been deleted as grey squares, just as you described. I am also unable to delete these photos; every time I try, I get the same message about a server error.
I am also unable to disable the service by enabling and then disabling it on my iPhone. Each time I have tried this it hangs on uploading for several hours, with the progress bar not moving at all. When I disable it on my iPhone, the web app remains unchanged.
If anyone has had this issue and has managed to fix it, PLEASE share your wisdom. I am out of patience!

  • IPhone Cuts off Full Screen Photos in Contact View

The iPhone can use a full screen photo of a contact (when a call is initiated), if the original is cropped in iPhoto as '2 x 3 (iPhone) / Portrait'. (To set up full screen view on the iPhone, the user must select a contact, tap the 'Edit' button, tap the contact photo, tap 'Edit Photo', tap 'Choose', then tap 'Done'.) However, the same photo is then cropped to a square shape when initially viewed in the Contact screen, often cutting off the person's forehead. A suggestion for improvement would be to have the iPhone use the square cropping settings of the original photo when it was added to Address Book (for initial Contact view), and then use the 2 x 3 settings when the call is initiated to have the photo fill the screen. Anyone have any workarounds?

    Hello
I have updated my software recently and the full screen default for the web browser is very annoying and causing my phone to slow down badly.
Has anyone been able to turn the Full Screen web mode default off??
Or how do you delete a software update.
    Thanks

  • Full Screen Photos In Slide Show & Other Questions

Hi - I'm using Premiere Elements 4. I have a few questions since I'm new to using the program. First of all, how do I get the photos to take up the whole screen (instead of showing a black border) when they are played back? They were taken on a 7.2 megapixel camera at the maximum quality setting. Also, the resolution is bad when it's played back but fine when you see the preview of the photos in the program. I've seen other posts about needing to change the resolution but I was wondering if I got the photos to play full screen if that might fix my problem because I can play the photos as a slide show in the Windows Photo Gallery Program and the resolution is perfect and the photos take up the whole screen.
Secondly, how do I delete a menu from the Disc Menus Section? Also, how would I delete the "Scene Selection" button from the menu screen that I want to keep? I want to be able to have a menu with just a "play all" button.
    Thanks for your help.

The only way to remove Scene Menu button from Disc Menus is to physically remove it from the template by editing it (They're PSD files) in Photoshop Elements.
As for photos, DO NOT use photos from that 7.2 megapixel camera at full resolution, niagara. It's a sure recipe for disaster. RAther, per the FAQs at the top of this forum, rez those photos all down to no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size.

That done, you can get your photos to fill your screen one of two ways:
    a) Leave the Default to Frame Size option checked in your preferences. The only case in which this won't work is if you're using 4:3 photos in a 16:9 widescreen project.
    b) If this is the case, go to Edit/Preferences and uncheck Default to Frame Size BEFORE you import that photos into your project. (It won't work if you do it after.) Then, after placing each photo on your timeline, right-click on each, select Show Properties and, in Properties, open Motion and set Scale to 85%. Note that, because your photos and the widescreen have different aspect ratios, you will lose some of the vertical off the tops and bottoms of your photos.
There are many more ways to do it -- but it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

  • Full Screen Photo Booth

Does anyone know if you can make Photo Booth go full screen when shooting a pix?
    PMG5 Dual 2.0GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I do not think you can do that with Photo Booth.
You do not say which Mac you are using. As explained in Built-in iSight ( Late 2005 -> ), Apple does not make Photo Booth available for the PMG5 Dual 2.0GHz you show in your published System Info. Perhaps, if your System Info is correct, WebcamTweaker or some other app will work better?
If you are trying to use iSight to capture an image, the size of the image is always limited to iSight's 640x480 dot resolution. Image editing software like PhotoShop or PhotoShop Elements can change that size, but I do not think that Photo Booth can.
If you are trying to capture an image of your full screen, you can do so by holding down your Mac's <<i>shift> and ⌘ keys while you tap the 3 key on the main keyboard (not the 10-key pad section.) The image file, titled "Picture 1", will be saved on your desktop. However, if you want apply "effects" (like those Photo Booth can apply to images captured with your iSight,) to a full-screen image, you would still need an image editor app like one of those above to simulate those "effects" on your saved screen shot image file.

  • Cant get full screen photos

Although my photos will appear full screen in slideshow, they won't otherwise. I have selected show full screen in Preferences and tried the icon for full-screen- but no good. I ger a black screen with a small photo in the centre. Is this simply because the original photos were of a small size and can't be stretched to full screen?
I have today had to rebuild the i-photo library because of another problem (photos wouldn't load). That's now fixed. And, if it's relevant, most of the photos were transferred from my old i-book, although I have without problems imported photos from a camera to this machine and they behave in the same way - eg won't enlarge to full-screen.
    imac(intel)   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   i-photo 6.0.2

look down at the bottom of the screen/window. There are several icons. a + to add albums, an "i" to get info, etc. The last one is a screen with arrows pointing in on the corners - try clicking that.
    Does that solve the problem?
Its a great view, and I didn't even know it existed.
    Thanks!

  • How can I activate full screen photo viewing on Facebook with Firefox as the browser?

I recently was made aware that Firefox, along with Chrome, supports full screen viewing of photos on Facebook. It worked great on Chrome up until about three days ago, and now all images I try to look at in Full Screen mode are made so huge, I have to scroll to see the whole thing, or use the CTRL + - three times to make it fit, and then everything else after I'm done looking at the photo is so small I have to use CTRL + + to get things big enough to view. But that very well could be a Chrome problem. My question for this forum is why the Full Screen Viewing option is not available on my Firefox browser, which has been recently updated to the most current version available? Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the reply cor-el, but I don't think you understood the question. No matter, because now the full screen viewing of photos in Facebook is now working while using Firefox. Still doesn't work with Chrome like it did and should, so now I will be using Firefox instead. :)
