Full screen playback in PE9 garbled - anyone else see this?

I mentioned this in a general post but I'll make it a specific question now -
When I click on the "full screen" button near the top right of the interface, full screen playback has a corrupted area which corresponds with where the timescale is on the normal interface. Sometimes the playback cursor "breaks through" as a black vertical line too.
Does anyone else see this?
I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed. Windows XP Pro SP3 Q9300 quad core PC 2GB memory.

It's very obvious if you do have the problem - a wide strip of the video (horizontal, matching the timescale hidden beneath the full screen display) gets shifted sideways somewhat (flickering on and off), so that any vertical object in the footage gets displaced sideways at that point in an obvious juddering fashion. I tried to do a screen grab but simply doing that makes the problem change - it is more evident when the footage is running than when frozen.
Anyway, adjusting the Windows Display Properties "hardware acceleration" slider, moving it to the left till it is set to the point where the message beneath reads "Disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D acceleraions. Use this setting to correct severe problems with DirectX accelerated applications" seems to fix the problem.
Graphics card is a GeForce 8600 GT, in case that's relevant.
At least I know how to work around the problem. Let's see if others come across the same problem in due course. Maybe it's just a local issue.

Aperture and DNG. Anyone else seeing this?

I shoot a lot of RAW images and some of them on a camera that is not currently supported by Aperture (Panasonic DMC FZ8). When I convert those RAW images to DNG, Aperture displays them perfectly in the import preview. When I import them to a project, Aperture displays them for a few seconds. Then they disappear only to be replaced by the usual blank red image placeholder and the message "Unsupported Image Format". If the program can display these images for 5 or 10 seconds why not permanently?
Anyone else seeing this? If so is there a way to manage these images in Aperture? I like the program, but it's difficult using one app for RAW images and another for the rest. Any news (rumors) as to when Apple may be updating the supported camera list?

Aperture only supports DNG from cameras that it supports the RAW file from, so your Panasonic DNGs are not supported. What you are seeing is simply the embedded JPEG that flicks on until Aperture realizes it is not a supported file.

Funny - it never said ths with iDVD 06
I'm seeing this about 20% of the time when opening iDVD.

T420s parts delay...anyone else seeing this

We have a 1 month old t420s that had the mainboard die (wil not power on, power button just slow flashes) We where just told that Dec. 24th would be the earlest the parts depo would have the mainboard!! Anyone else seeing this type of delay? This is a laptop on a Next Day on site enterprise contract. Having a user down for that long is nuts.

All v8 files saved from Illustrator CC seem to be corrupt - anyone else see this?

I've tried searching for this but couldn't find anything. I'm trying to import an illustrator file into Cinema4D which requires me to save a v8 eps - but when I try to import, nothing happens.
At first I hought it was a C4D issue but if I:
Create a new Illustrator file in CC
Export v8 eps
Try to open the newly created v8 eps in Illustrator CC
Then I see the following error:
"Can't open the Illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand. Offending operator: {eps_metadata_stream} Context: ZA"
I've tried the following steps to reproduce the issue on two different Macs (10.8.4 and 10.8.5) and see the same error each time:
Create a new blank file (print intent)
Create a text box and type some text
Convert all text to paths
Save as Illustrator v8
Does anyone else see this issue in Illustrator CC?
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having this same issue.
Sadly HDave387's fix doesn't work for me. I have Universal Type client instead.
What does seem to work though is "Save as Copy". For some reason that's perfectly fine, but "Save As" throws out an error when trying to reopen the v8 .eps.

Since loading IOS 7.0.4, the images and letters/words on my ipad Mini are fuzzy and less clear. It appears the revised IOS has created this degradation to clarity and sharpness. Anyone else seeing this problem?

My ipad mini display, including letters/words, was crystal clear until the last software upgrade. Now everything is fuzzy and less clear. I'm reading many complaints about this on the Internet forums. Since I read a lot of books on my ipad , this is particularly irritating. Anyone else seeing this issue?

I found adjusting the size, boldness and contrast settings on the iPad mini were very helpful.
Here is a link to the information in the iPad User Guide on page 112:

Large, bold, and high-contrast text
Display larger text in apps such as Calendar, Contacts, Mail, Messages, and Notes. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Larger Type, where you can turn on Larger Dynamic Type and adjust the font size.
Display bolder text for items on iPad. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn on Bold Text.
Increase the contrast of text where possible. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn on Increase Contrast.

Colorpicker behavior: anyone else see this?

I'm just sampling what should be straight grey, and I get much more saturated samples than should possibly be represented in the image.
I'm seeing this behavior in Photoshop CS5, ATI 5700 video card, latest drivers, Win XP Pro SP3. I see this with or without OGL acceleration. I see this with the modal eyedropper, or with the selected eyedropper tool. Anyone else see this?

I tried to duplicate just what you did. It doesn't paint any color for me - the picked colors just paint shades of gray.
I noticed that your brush doesn't paint all the way to the edges. Specifically, it looks as though you're getting an "all or nothing" coloration, and the size of your brush "footprint" is varying during painting... Is this some kind of brush dynamic at work? I don't use a tablet myself.
Something's definitely acting funny there, and I'd say it could be in the brush settings or behavior of the brush rather than the picker (or both).
I have an ATI 4670 by the way, on 10.11 Catalyst.

Ever since the IOS 6 , at least since then, everything slows down and nothing is wrong, just nothing is any where near as fast as it used to be... Other friends who have macs also say the same....

Just about everything...The internet is slow and I have a very fast FIOS connection 25 up and down....
You click on something, i.e. a bookmark and it takes a while for it to do anything...Dock items seem to react slower to open, it is like it thinking about it before anything happens....
Not sure how to describe it, but several friends have said the exact same thing...even on our Ipads...
Do you see nothing slower?

Persistent Aggregates bug with logic - anyone else see this ?

A long while ago I posted a bug report regarding the use of aggregates with the Stealthplug guitar audio interface. I also reported this on the apple bug report system.
Basically, when using Logic8 with stealthplug and OSX Tiger ( latest 10.4 ) I configured an aggregate using AudioMIDI setup program, configuring Stealthplug as the input and the built in audio as the output.
When one creates an audio track with the aggregate name selected I Logic8
preferences INITIALLY one can get audio input to show up, the "record" button appears and one can hear audio output to the main macbook audio outputs. However on repeated use and selection/deseletion of the particular named aggregate one finds that the stealthplug input is no longer enabled ( the record button disappears).
I found out recently that if I delete the aggregate ( I only had one aggregate st up ) and create a NEW aggregate, this time with a different name, but with the same settings ( stealthplug as input, built in outputs as output ) then one can get the aggregate to work initially in logic8. However after a few sessions, or switching between audo devices in preferences, the aggregate again fails to work, by this i mean I no longer get the "R" button appearing in the channel strip for the input.
Stealthplug works fine when selected itself if one selects this as the device, but NOT when used through an aggregate. I suspect this is something to to do with aggregates and not stealthplug.
My suspicions is that it has something to do with the way logic8 or the CoreAudio system stores its aggregate preference information since I find that if I delete the original aggregate but recreate the same aggregate settings using a different name then the aggregate will work for a short time.
This really needs fixing since aggregates are potentially so useful.
Anyone else seen this with stealthplug or another audi interface ? is the Aggregates system just plain buggy? dos this problem go away in Leopard ?

Well I can say that after installing updates to QuickTime is appears I have been having a lot of trouble with Aggregate Devices as well. I use 2 896HD MOTU interfaces and after a few sessions of Logic, the Aggregate device stops working. I can either (a) reset the computer, (b) sometimes reset the coreAudio driver (works rarely) or (c) create a new Aggregate device like you have and it all starts working again.
Even worse, some of my USB MIDI interfaces like the Fantom X7 just loose connection as well. If I remove the USB and then plug back in, it's recognized again immediately.
Something is seriously broken and I have NO clue where to begin to help fix it. The only thing I could do is re-install OSX 10.5 and not do the quicktime updates and see if that helps. Unfortunately, that is a LOT of work! (I use like 146 AU plugins total).

Anyone else seeing this bug (images on buttons)?

I have an app that was converted from Creator 1 that has some buttons on one of tha pages. Those buttons have images that can be seen just fine in the designer and in the preview mode, but when I run the application yoiu can no longer see the images (just get the old red square).
Has anyone else seen this?

Sorry but this is a known issue. To workaround it temove leading / from the buttons image property and re-deploy

Odd bug... anyone else seeing this?

I have had this three or four times already and haven't seen any posts about this. Sometimes I fully charge my PlayBook, use it for a little while, put it to sleep and leave it somewhere. When I come back a few hours later the BlackBerry logo on the back is warm and when I wake it up the battery is almost drained... or well on it's way to being drained.
I am pretty sure it is just a software issue, and am looking for a connection to anything so it can be easily recreated. I initially thought it might have been tied to using pdf's but I don't believe that is the case. I am trying to make it so that my wife and I close all of the apps when putting it to sleep to see if that helps.
And for the record, my PlayBook is one of the units with the flush power button which my wife just cannot figure out so she lets it timeout ( no matter how much I show her how easy the button is to use ). I have seen this issue happen when I put it to sleep with the button as well, though. Please, RIM, for the love of God add a sleep button to the power app...
Has anyone else noticed this bug? Is it just me? I tried searching the forums but seemed to only come up with threads about charging.

Strange video playback ... anyone else see this?

I have successfully ripped many DVDs from my collection to my iPod 60G and I am quite pleased. I used handbrake and like its ease of use. However, on a couple of my movie files, during playback on the iPod the file will freeze for like two seconds and then resume on its own, but with no audio. If I scrub backward a couple seconds worth, the audio works fine again. This happens about every four to five minutes during playback and is seriously annoying.
The movie in question was ripped directly from the DVD using the same settings as my other files, all of which play properly all the time.
I have re-ripped this DVD twice, thinking that I got a bad rip, but now I'm beginning wonder. The movie plays fine from the computer hard drive, and directly from the DVD.
Anyone else ever experienced this? If you did, how did you solve the problem? It's very annoying.

I had a similar issue with the exception of the video freezing. The Audio would cut out every couple minutes and I would have to RW a little to get it to start up again. I used the QT player to fix the issue but you have to have QT pro. When your movie opens with QT navigate to "window/show movie properies" select the "Sound track" and check the box for "preload this track" under the "other settings" tab. close the window and then close QT. QT will ask you if you want to save so save. This will create an .mov file that runs without audio cut outs. It's a 5 minute process but works everytime for me.

My daughter has MacBook Pro 15 with Retina display. Bought in January 2014. Said she must have dropped it. She has barely used it. She suffers from migraines and is in bed almost 24 hours a day.
