Full signal bar but can't make call or receive call

I have issue on my Xperia Z phone, when I went to my work area that do not have the netwok coverage for some time, after get out from the area, the signal bar is resume back to full at notification bar with h+ (sometime LTE) and signal strength is about -73dbm but the phone is not able to make call or surf net, can't even reachable when someone try to call me which my friend keep complaint to me eventhough during that time my phone is actually showing full signal on the notification bar, checked this with my colleague which using the same model phone and he do have the same problem, the problem is sometime recovered by switching to Airplane mode and switch back to normal mode else need to power off the phone and power on again. Already sent the phone to sony and they have reinstalling firmware and end up still having the same problem. Anyone know how to fix this issue or will this issue fix with the 4.2.2 update? The area that I stay still do not have 4.2.2 release yet and my phone is currently running on 4.1.2 with 10.11.A.1.253 build number. Tried verified same sim card on my wife's htc one phone, not found this problem. If sony still not able to fix this issue for me, this will be my last Sony phone and say byebye to sony forever and welcome htc!!

No bars for me if the phone have been searching for a network in a place with poor coverage. It might not find any network at all if I do a manual search, only a restart helps. Luckily i'm not in such places very often. Xperia ZR, most firmwares up to .230. I woun't go into the woods and try to disable network types to try to troubleshoot, nor replace the simcard. With Telia i'm often connected to GSM. I think these phones are better with GSM turned off, would be nice to be able to turn that off (not the hacky way in the service menu). Maybe something bad happens when the amplifier is forced to transmit at maximum power, GSM signals are nasty!

  • I can't make or take phone calls, but i can message and use data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, two of which have this problem and one just stopped working all together.

My phone doesn't have any cellular phone functions...but it CAN send text messages and access data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, the last two have this problem and the first stopped working all together. I've had new sim cards put in, ive done hard resets on the phone, i've rebooted the phone, done battery pulls, and tech support has reset the signal to my phone. Nothing has worked. (I just "upgraded" <- lol.... and my old phone IS turned off.)

Im in 79707. So to recap my whole case: I upgraded my device using the verizon wireless website. I received my phone and switched my old SIM card from my Droid Razr Maxx HD into the new Galaxy S5. Everything worked fine until the next morning (May 31st) when I woke up and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took the phone to the local Verizon store and they were also unable to turn it on. They issued me a new Galaxy S5 (referred to as phone 2) and switched my SIM card into that one.
With PHONE 2 i was able to make calls and receive calls, along with text and data for approximately four hours. After that, i was unable to use the phone function of the device, but text and data were still functioning. I took PHONE 2 back to the Verizon store where they attempted to hard reset the phone twice, they also installed two new SIM cards at the store. After this they would get the same error, which is the phone just reading "Dialing..." after attempting to make a call. The Verizon associate declared the phone "DOA" and issued me another Galaxy S5 (referred to as PHONE 3).
PHONE 3 worked well, with phone text and data featured intact from when I received it on the after noon of the 31st until approximately 2:30PM on June 1st. I contacted Verizon Tech Support via Gmail phone to attempt the correct the problem. They reset the connection, had me do a battery pull, had me close the "phone" application, and erase the data and catche, then restart the phone. All of which had no effect. My phone is still able to receive texts and use data (even with wifi off) it simply cannot make or take phone calls. all it says is "dialing..." when I attempt to make a call. When other phones call my device it rings once on their end and directs them to voicemail, PHONE 3 does not ring on my end.
I have made sure my old phone is completely powered down.

  • HT201177 My Face time device is working, but I can't make a Skype video call. How do I connect the camera when I am on a Skype video call?

My built in Face time device is working, the green light on top of my iMac is on, but when I make a Skype video call the other party cannot see me, even I can see them. How do I connect the built in camera to my video Skype call? Thanks for your help, Helmut

Assuming you have set up your Preferences correctly in Skype, sometimes Skype doesn't seem to automatically trigger the camera. When that happens just click on the camera icon that appears at the bottom of the screen when making a call:

  • No signal bars but carrier and 3g data works ipone 4s

no signal bars but carrier and 3g data works iphone 4s ios 6.1.3 can anyone help plz does this mean its blocked

    Hey ajsmith002,
I would follow these troubleshooting steps to see if that resolves the issue:
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
    Restart your iPhone.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrier to report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPhone as new.
    Contact your carrier to:
Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.

i'm still looking for solution, but if i there is no solution so i will throw My Own iPhone 4S in the nearest Trash.
(I had got a big problem and thanks for Nokia saved me. and if i don't care about apple products i will never send to you this, so kindly find solution or people in middle east will stop using iphone)

No clue why you cannot make video calls over your cellular operator... have you tried contacting them?
If you're referring to FaceTime, it is currently limited to Wi-Fi only.
Sending files via Bluetooth is not a supported feature of the iPhone or iOS.  A simple search of the web or these forums would have made that abundantly clear.

Expanding on what deggie said, with an iPad 1 the app you're using must support video out. Only the iPad 2 can mirror the screen. The apps included with the iPad that output to external monitors are given here:

For third-party apps, consult the app's documentation or contact the developer.
