Full text search issues with whlang.js file coding

I'm wondering if anyone else is encountering an issue where a
javascript error is preventing the search feature in webhelp output
from working. The output and search was working fine a couple of
weeks ago, but just recently stopped working.
I get the following error from every browser I try the help
in:
Line: 265
Char: 18
Error: Unterminated string constant
Code: 0
URL: <path>\WebHelp\whfbody.htm
There's nothing wrong with this file, but looking through the
.js files it calls, I discovered that the whlang.js file has a
couple of errors. The first is that the terminating (I think?)
charcters "; are on a separate line than the string constant:
gaFtsStop[60] = "over
The second error is item 63 in this section has an unknown
character in it instead of an "o" such that the browser is reading
it as gaFts
Stp instead of gaFts
Stop.
When I fixed these errors, the search functionality works
fine. The problem is, I don't know
why RoboHelp is producing this file with all of these errors
in it, and why it's doing it now when it used to work just fine. I
can't find anything on the web or in RoboHelp's help about this, so
I'm wondering if anyone else has a) come across it b) fixed it, and
c) got RoboHelp to stop writing a broken file.
Help, anyone?

I agree with Peter.
However, I did see the split line problem once or twice, and
I never stored projects on a network drive, and always generate to
the local hard drive. I'd think generating across the network would
be as safe for WebHelp as publishing. On the other hand, we've
heard about problems trying to generate print doc across a network.
Can't recall the file names with split lines, but I think it
was one of the search database files beginning with whft......
I did move some projects from one PC to another via the
network, but can't say whether this caused the change. From time to
time I read advice saying it's best to zip up the entire project
directory before sending it across the network, and unzip it at the
destination. Maybe this has something to do with the split lines,
but I don't know enough to explain why it might be so.

  • Full text Search Issue with Boolean AND Search in 2012 server

We are trying to use CONTAINSTABLE function with BOOLEAN AND search, but unable to get expected results in sql server 2012.
If use BOOLEAN OR search we get expected results.
Full text indexed table is having more than 10 millions of records. we checked index fragmentation level is 82%. then we done Rebuild. Even after rebuild, unable to fetch expected results with AND SEARCH.
    The below query is used
    SELECT ft.* FROM FT_ROWS ft
    INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(FT_ROWS, summary,
    ' "manifest" AND "version" ') AS key_tbl
    ON ft.log_id = key_tbl.[key]
if we remove ( "manifest" AND ) from the search string, then getting some results but AND search is not returning expected results.
    Please help any suggestion

The explanation that is closest at hand is that you have no documents with both of these words in them.
An alternate explanation is that you have accidently entered "manitest" into your stoplist.

    Hello,
Did you check the fulltext log files for more details about the errors. If the filter isn’t working, there should be errors in the error log file.
The following thread is about similar issue, please refer to:

  • Full-text search in ucm10g with wc search taskflow

    hi all,
    I am using wc11.1.13 plus ucm10gr3.
I checked in a content with both Primary File and Alternate File , I used webcenter search taskflow to search word in alternate file, but search result show me the Primary File, how to resolve this issue?
I also opened a case in ucm forum.
    Best regards

    Hi Atrsams,
According to your description, you want to implement Full Text Search in Analysis Services Cube, right? Base on my research, there is no such a functionally to achieve Full Text Search in Analysis Services currently. And it seems that there is no any
solution or workaround for it. I recommend you to submit this at
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/ So that the product team can consider to solve it in the next SQL Server version. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the level
    of service provided.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Is it possible to ignore noise words conditionally in working with Full text search containstable

I have a question on stoplist file. I need to search for exact phrase string("this is the incident") which contains   noise words. As part of the FT search engine, during parsing it eliminates noise word and search on remaining string in
    the given phrase.
let us say there are 10 rows which contains the term "incident" in the FT table . and 1 row which has the exact phrase.i.e."this is the incident".
if we use containstable() to search for "this is the incident", we are getting 10 rows instead of 1 row.
To resolve the issue, we have 3 solutions
1.either stoplist file needs to be modified to remove the words (this,is,the)
    2. set stoplist = OFF.
    3.empty stoplist.
Apart from the above solutions, is there any better solution with out touching noise words file list.
If any solution that provides flexibility to ignore noise words conditionally at one time and not to ignore them.
    Please provide your suggestion.
    kkprasad

One question that I ask is:  Why would I want to exclude noise words?
Noise words were created to limit the size of the full text indexes and avoid processing the many 'this', 'is', and 'the' common words.  But the disadvantage of doing so is that you cannot find some things as you would like.
My feeling is that computers are more powerful and have more storage and it is often better to just index everything.  As long as your search does not include 'the', then the large number of 'the's in the system will pretty much be ignored.
NOTE: If you change the noise words, including SET STOPLIST = OFF, you have to rebuild the index in order for it to implement your decision.
Of course, for very, very large full text indexes you would need to test.
Is your full text search on relation database columns, e.g.  Description NVARCHAR(1000)  or are you searching Word, Excel, and other more complex data?
If your full text is relational columns, it might be that you could:
    1. Select only the fulltextkey into a temp table (e.g. #FTSfulltextkey) from the full text index using noise words.  That would give you 10 rows.
    2. Then directly query the table to find the string as you define above.  (But remember that punctuation and symbols are generally ignored by Full Text Indexing, but would still be there in the string of text.)
    SELECT *
    FROM MyTextTable T
    JOIN #FTSfulltextkey K
    ON T.fulltextkey = k.fulltextkey
    WHERE T.Description like '%this is the incident%'
Full text search is powerful, but it has limits. And the behaviour changes depending on the Language of the search.

  • Problem with full-text search in RH8

    Hi All,
I've just upgraded from RH6 to RH8 (laptop running Windows XP SP3; RH6 still present on the computer but the RH8 setup program did not seem to have a problem with that: identified an earlier version was present, asked for its serial number, and then proceeded).
RH8 is working just fine, except for one thing: in the WebHelp output I generate, the Search tab displays: "Error: Failed to initialize database".
As a matter of fact, the generation details in RH8 output view state:
    Processing Full-text-search data...
    Finished processing Full-Text-Search data in 0 sec(s)
This is the case for legacy projects that RH8 upgraded from RH6, but also when I create a project from scratch in RH8.
Now, to add to my confusion, before buying RH8, I had downloaded RH8 trial version and installed it on a spare computer (so it would not interfere with my RH6 installation and projects). The tests with this version were OK (hence the decision to buy the upgrade), and guess what: there was no problem whatsoever with full-text search, neither on legacy projects nor on new projects.
So before I go into the pains of uninstalling / reinstalling (hello registry, it's me again, trying to clean things up ;-), I'd like to know if anyone has any idea why this is happening.
Just to be clear: The RH8 version I bought and installed was a new download, distinct from the initial trial download.
The 3 differences between the trial version and the current working version are:
Trial was on a Vista computer (working version is on XP SP3)
Trial did not have RH6 present on the computer
Trial was version 8.0.0.203, whereas the working version is 8.0.2.208 (immediately after it was installed, RH prompted me to install the updates)
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

    Hi All,
Just for the record, IT people here were eventually able to have RH8 full-text search feature working on my laptop by:
1/ Installing an XP virtual machine from scratch, and then installing RH8 on it (we created a small project and generated the webhelp output, just to make sure the search feature did work in that environment).
2/ Using a software virtualization application to capture that RH8 install and deploy it on my laptop.
The problem is not solved, because we still don't know what caused it (conflicting DLLs?), but it looks like we have a workaround - although certainly not a quick and easy one ;-)

  • How to Enable Full text search in UCM with Oracle 10g

    Hi,
Can you please guide me on how to enable full text search in UCM after I have installed it. My database is Oracle 10g. It would be great if you could guide me through the steps since I am very new to this product.
    Regards
    Ashish

    Hi
Are you sure that your indexer is finishing without any errors? Check activeindex.hda under \search directory to see what is the variable set for activeindex variable? If Oracle Text is the indexer search enabled then the variable activeindex should either OTS1 or OTS2. If anything else then you have indexer problems that is not indexing documents.
Check the CS log file to see if indexer errors are shown there. If yes, then put it over here so that we can analyse it.
    Hope it helps
    Thanks

  • Full text search with XML input in Oracle

    Hi,
I need to develope a web application which can do full text search for a library. We will use XML as the input data format and stored XML file in Oracle. How can I do full text search to the XML according todifferent tags or elements. e.g search from title or from article.
Do not only convert XML to Ascii and do the full text search. It should utilize the XML tag and structure.
InterMedia text in 8i or Oracle text in 9i? Or any other toolkit?

  • Kazehakase with full-text search in history using Hyper Estraier

A guide for Kazehakase with full-text history search using Hyper Estraier
I adopted qdbm and submitted hyperestraier in AUR, so you can enable full-text search frature by installing Hyper Estraier from AUR and rebuilding Kazehakase using srcpac or yaourt.
    1. Install QDBM and Hyper Estraier from AUR. The easiest way is using yaourt. (If you prefer not to use yaourt, download tarball and do makepkg && pacman -U manually.)
    yaourt -S qdbm hyperestraier
    2. Rebuild Kazehakase using srcpac.
    srcpac -Sb kazehakase
Of cource you can rebuild Kazehakase using yaourt.
    yaourt -Sb kazehakase
You don't have to modify configure option in PKGBUILD of Kazehakase, because "--enable-hyper-estraier" is implied by default. If Hyper Estraier is installed successfully, you'll get "Hyper Estraier: yes" in configure messages.
    3. Configure Kazehakase. To enable full-text search in history, run Kazehakase and go Edit>Preference>General and change UI Level to "Expert" and apply settings. Next, go Edit>Preference>History and set Search engine name to "hyper-estraier" and restart Kazehakase. Then you'll see "History Search" box next to "Internet Search" box.
    Sorry for my poor English.

"ctxsrv" is no longer supported at version 10.1.
Instead PARAMETERS clause has SYNC option, and you can specify ON COMMIT for this.
If you created the database with DBCA and chose Oracle Text option, then you have no need to perform any further operations to configure Oracle Text.

    Hello,
If you see error descriptioon it gives access denied so basically it is because of some access issue.I guess You must be using some domin account for installation make sure it is  added as local administrator also instead of using NT Authority network
service  as SQL server service account use local system account .
    Below link would help
    http://serverfault.com/questions/212135/access-is-denied-error-installing-sql-server-2008-on-windows-7
You can also browse to setup.exe file and RK on it and select run as administrator

  • Full-Text Search has not worked since we upgraded to 2012

I have a filestream database and table. Our full-text searches have always worked until we upgraded to SQL 2012 in December.  Now, no file that has been uploaded since December is searchable.  What has gone wrong here.  It should have been
a clean upgrade.  We are not getting any error messages.  We are just not getting any records returned when we search on a word that we know are in the documents we've uploaded since December (for instance, the word 'aluminum').
Filestream is enabled for the instance.
A full-text catalog exists and contains a full-text index (the same one we've always had).  Full-text indexing is ENABLED.
I've tried rebuilding the catalog and the index.  I've tried to do a FULL POPULATION on the table.
We haven't changed our queries nor the way the files are uploaded.
Nothing works.  I have been a database administrator since the SQL 2005 days and I have never seen anything like this.
    Please help.

    Hi GINGER PIERCE,
Since the issue regards SQL Server Search. I will help you post the question in the related forums. It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
According to your description, in theory , if you can do a full-text search for SQL Server 2008, when upgrading the SQL Server version from 2008 to 2012, the Full text indexing feature should be run well in SQL Server 2012 databases. If not , you can try
to restore your database from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2012, create an new Full-Text Catalog and Index on the table or view in the database, and then use Full Text Index to search words, phrases and multiple forms of word or phrase via FREETEXT() and
CANTAINS() with “and” or “or” operators.  check if it is normal that the full-text search feature is enabled in the SQL Server 2012 instance. For more information , see:
Full Text Search step by step in SQL Server 2012.
Note:  In SQL Server 2012 SP1 , the server will report that Full Text Search is not supported in this edition of SQL Server when it clearly is. The workaround is to create the initial catalog by using a T-SQL query:
    CREATE FULLTEXT CATALOG
In addition, since it is a fileStream database, we need to verify if you do Full Text Searches on documents in FileTables, if yes, you should enable FileStream database for your SQL Server, and enable FileTable options for the database. For more information,
    see:
Full Text Searches on Documents in FileTables.

  • Full-text search in ucm10g

    hi all,
    I am using ucm10gr3 plus wc11.1.1.3.
I checked in a content with both Primary File and Alternate File , I used webcenter search taskflow to search word in alternate file, but search result show me the Primary File, how to resolve this issue?
I also opened a case in webcenter services.
    Best regards

    Hi,
According to Metalink note 871388.1: " The weblayout file is what typically gets indexed for full text searching". it is possible to set some parameters in order the native file to be indexed but the note says nothing about indexing the alternative file.

  • Full-text search broken in Simplified Chinese?

    Hello,
Can anyone confirm whether full-text search works in
Simplified Chinese CHM files produced with Robohelp 7? It looks to
me like the answer is no. When I compile a help system that has
been localized into Chinese, the compiler produces this error:
    Generating full-text search data...
    HHC5008: Error:
An unknown error occurred while creating the index.
There's no mention of this error in any of Adobe's support
documents. Googling "HHC5008" and "unknown error" finds one page
(in Japanese) that indicates that the problem stems from using a
binary index. Robohelp will not let me disable the binary index
    since I'm using an HHK.
Oddly, if I change the language of my otherwise unmodified
source (English) project to Simplified Chinese, the same error
    occurs.
The Robohelp Readme lists as a known issue "Search not
working for Unicode (Hiragana) characters on RoboHelp for HTML
(RHT)." This problem is perhaps related, but not identical to the
one I'm having. It would also appear that the statement in the FAQ,
"Full text search is also operational in any of the languages," is
    false.
I'm evaluating RH7, which will not be useful to me if this
    bug persists.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Peter,
Thank you very much for the quick response (on Christmas Eve,
no less). It appears to me that the search and index issues are the
same, or at least that they're very closely related. Again, the
error message sequence is as follows:
    Generating full-text search data...
    HHC5008: Error:
An unknown error occurred while creating the index.
The index itself generates correctly (despite the error
message); the problem is with the Search tab.
I can reproduce the problem with the "Clownfish School"
sample project. If I open the project, change its output format to
Microsoft HTML Help, and compile, the search function in the
resulting CHM works fine. If I change the project language to
Simplified Chinese, I get the same error I reported originally with
    my actual project.
So at this point it appears that either the problem is, as
you suggest, local to my installation (I've tested it on three
different machines, though, so this seems unlikely) or with
    Robohelp itself.
I would appreciate any additional suggestions. Thanks
    again.

  • Issue with length of file paths - Windows & C++ plugin

    Hello,
I've got an issue that just popped up on my OCR plugin I've been working on that I suspect is related to the length of the filepath.
I'm getting the following error that is being caught and logged when trying to open a file (filename changed for security purposes):
    Error Opening File: D:\aVeryLongFilePath.pdf
Exception info: This file cannot be found.
The entire string, including the D:\ part, is 266 characters long. I cut down the length of part of the path one by one and it was able to open and OCR the document when the length was 259 characters.
I know there's a MAX_PATH variable in Windows and/or there's some kind of limitation for file length. Note that I can open the file in Acrobat using File->Open and run OCR on it individually using the built-in Recognize Text function, but if I try to Recognize Text for Multiple files and choose "Add Folders", the file in question doesn't show up in the list of files to be batch OCR'd (even though it is there). Interestingly, choosing "Add Files" from the Recognize Text->In Multiple Files does work. So Acrobat itself has at least some issues opening the file using some of it's features.
Here's how I'm opening the document:
string pn;               // assume this is initialized, I'm just putting this here to demonstrate what type it is
         pathName = pn;
         ASAtom pathType = ASAtomFromString("Cstring");
         asPathName = ASFileSysCreatePathName(ASGetDefaultFileSys(), pathType, pn.c_str(), NULL);
         pdDoc = PDDocOpen(asPathName, ASGetDefaultFileSys(), NULL, true);
Is there a way around this problem?
    Thanks.

Yes, you are hitting the MAX_PATH on certain versions of Windows.   The only workaround would be to see that the file is "a very long path" and then break up the pathname construction into multiple pieces (perhaps the containing directory and then the file itself).  The other option is don't use Cstring to construct, use the Unicode variant.
