Full version vs OEM ?

I am about to buy windows vista home premium i cant decide on which to get though the Full Version priced at $195 or the OEM priced at $95.
Questions
1.my real question is what are the differences between these too?
2.I heard OEM can only be used to install once, so will it be possible for me to reinstall the OEM if i need or want to one the same computer?
3.With the OEM version can i run Windows with Bootcamp and then run the same version in Parallels?
4.Basically can I use the OEM more than once on the same computer?

Another difference between the retail an OEM versions I believe, is that the OEM version contains either a 32bit version or a 64bit version but not both.
The retail version has both allowing you to later change your mind and reinstall the other option.
The main issue I would worry about is that if you think you are going to regularly upgrade your computer, then the OEM version would have to be replaced each time (it is tied to a single logic board - the one you first install on), whereas the retail version can be uninstalled and moved to a new machine (the license allows you to do this). If you might only change once then the much cheaper price of the OEM version means you could afford to buy two copies, if you might change three times, then it might become cheaper to have the retail version.
Hardcore gamers, who constantly rebuild their custom machines would probably benefit from getting the retail version.

Want to load WindowXP on Mac. Need clarification between OEM & full version

I have installed Leopard, had the drive partitioned but now need to know which XP I need. I have already purchased an OEM version and was told it would not work. I returned to seller. Most any OEM XP SP2 should work unless it is 'vendor specific' to a particular machine (Dell, etc). The seller should know, most buy from places like Newegg, Amazon etc.
I use Vista System Builder, which is basically your OEM, you don't get Microsoft support and have to provide your own if you run into trouble and have questions is all.
If new to Windows, you may want to need to know to configure, choose which security software you want to use, etc. I settled on Kaspersky Internet Suite after trying a couple others (AVG, Norton 2007/2008).

I just received an OEM copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 with my Canon Pixma Pro 100 Printer. What exactly is OEM. Is it a full version? Can I transfer files between different computers?

OEM means "Original Equipment Manufacturer", or in your case, Canon (not Adobe) is providing the software. It is identical to what you can buy from Adobe. It is the full version (that's the only version of Lightroom that exists)
Transfer files between different computers ... this is not a function of Lightroom. Lightroom neither helps nor prevents you from transferring files from one computer to another.

XP OEM or Full Version

Please , Please can somebody advice me on this. If I buy a NEW OEM version of XP can I use to add XP to my iMac via VM Fusion.
The XP Pro OEM version that came with my old PC doesn't, but I assumed this was because it was tied to my PC somehow.
Really disappointed I've had install Windows at all but needs must as Mac developers haven't got around to making Articulate (Although Viewlet Pro4 is looking promising) or Snagit in a Mac version. Work is also a Windows only environment so all on-line data exchanges are done using only Windows compatible software.
So is it NEW OEM or NEW Full XP ?

To clear up the confusion a wee bit, 'OEM' is often casually used to refer to both bundled brand and system specific Windows install discs provided with a new computer, and to generic Windows discs meant to be sold with a non-brand specific new computer (usually one assembled from standard parts by an end user or from standard parts to an end user's specifications). The official Microsoft labeling for an OEM copy of Windows should state it is 'only for sale with a new computer'. The bundled copies normally have a branded label from the computer manufacturer, and are made only to be installed on an appropriate brand name system. The 'full' version many refer to is properly called a retail box version. This is the one sold in stores with documentation and a normal support cycle, and allows the user to purchase additional licenses for more installations without purchasing additional media (installation discs). The retail box version is officially (according to Microsoft) the only one you'd be allowed to install in full on a non-new system. Of course, people often use OEM copies to install to Macs, so 'officially' doesn't really mean much.

Queries related to Redwood Installation / Upgrade to Full version

We Need some help.
We have couple of question related to redwood installation, kindly help us.
We have SAP Central Process for Scheduling (Redwood 6.0.2.7) basic version installed on our Unix server.
We are now planning to migrate to the SAP CPS full version and have already procured the license. SAP added the installables at the marketplace under - Installation and upgrades - My Application components - SAP Partner products - SAP CPS Scheduler (Full) after the procurement. We have downloaded the installables now.
My questions are:
1. How do we now upgrade the Redwood OEM version to full version? Because, we had mailed to SAP with the OEM license to change it to full version, but then SAP replied to us asking us to send them the full version license. How do I get that? Does this file (register.txt) gets created once we start the installation of Redwood full version? Because we had assumed that by buying the full version license, we would just need to send the OEM license and it would be changed to a full version, but its not so. How do we go about from here. Do we do a new installation and uninstall the basic version?
2. Also, if we are to do a new installation, how do we get the register.txt file which we need to send to SAP for key generation?
We are very new to Redwood. Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

I have installed Windows Storage Server 2012 Evaluation Copy and when I am trying to upgrade it to the full version by using the
OEM non SLP key, I am getting the below attached error.

Help? PSE 9 - was a full version, now the serial on my adobe account is registered as "Beta"?

I have a bit of a frustrating situation - I received a full copy of Photoshop Elements 9 (for Mac) with a printer 2 years ago, installed it and used it on and off without problem for a year or so. Brilliant.
Earlier this year, running out of disk space, I had a clean-up of my machine to free up some space and as part of that I uninstalled PSE9.
I now need to reinstall PSE9, but I've lost the serial number (was printed on a slip of paper with the software bundled with the printer). So, first attempt was to recover the installed app from the Mac "Time Machine" backup from before my cleanup. I was able to recover the PSE folder/app, but it wouldn't launch - I'm guessing there are some other system files I need or something (I'm primarily a PC user, and I suspect there are "Program Files" equivalents to consider)...
Anyway, with that not working, I tried reinstalling from the CD (hoping there may be a "repair installation" option of some kind - but there wasnt). So I went through the regsitration, through the adobe id login & halted once more at the serial key screen.
After several attempts to recover from backup, uninstall, install, reinstall, (throw mac out of window....!!!) I eventually logged into adobe.com, and found to my delight that my serial number for PSE9 was accessible in my account - excellent! So I joyfully entered that into the installation screen and .... NO!! "error: serial number is not valid for this product".
Frustrated at this point I contacted Adobe chat help, who (cutting another long 45 minute story short) advised that the serial number in my account was for a "beta" version of PSE9. ...even though the disc and original serial (decomposing in landfill somewhere now...!) I have is for a full version. I have used it as I said and it is definitely not "beta" or a trial!!!!
I noticed also that my account registration date was showing as 2nd November 2012 (i.e. that same day), despite me having originally registered with my original product installation almost 2 years prior on 12/12/2010 (I have the welcome "Your Adobe Membership" email in my GMail still).
So with hindsight now, I'm wondering if by trying to reinstall PSE yesterday and logging in with my adobe id, my account and/or my serial number from 2010 has been overwritten with a new account(?) and "temporary" serial number? That's all I can think of, and now I have no way of recovering my serial number! (bundled with the printer, the serial number came on a printed piece of paper, which 2 years on, I've lost)
This is quite a specific sequence of events, I realise, but has anybody else experienced this, and if so, is there any way I can recover my original serial number (without of course paying for another licence? Or putting my wellies on & digging through the local refuse tip!!).

There are two different LR’s, one with a serial-number licensing and one with a CC-signin license.
You should uninstall the serial-number LR you have installed, then
Quit the CC Desktop application,
Restart the CC Desktop application—this will rescan what you have installed and not see LR,
LR will now be on the CC Desktiop apps list, so install that.

On my new Imac, I had the trial version of Pages, and saved some files in it. Now I have purchased the full version from Apple via a download, but I cannot save or print the old files, please help!

My guess is the 30-day trial period has expired but you didn't remove the trial before installing the full version. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

I have a full version of photoshop on my mac but downloaded a master collection trial, now photoshop will not open because the trial expired.

I had a full version of CS6 photoshop on my macbook and then downloaded a Masters Collection trial a few months ago. Photoshop has been working fine until today when I tried to go on, it told me that my trial was over. I had the full version on my computer before I downloaded the masters collection so I thought it would still work. Is there a way I can fix this or am I out of luck? I really don't want to have to buy another version of photoshop again. (I also have Bridge on my computer too from before downloading the trial and that is still functioning just fine)

I upgraded to version 18, and it no longer works. I uninstalled, ran CCleaner registry cleaner, reinstalled full version and it still does not work., Windows 7

I have been running Firefox 17.x with no issues. Updated to Firefox 18 today, and it will not render a single web page. IE and Chrome work fine. Running on 64Bit Win7 Ultimate. 6 Core/16GB Ram. Latest updates for windows, as of this weeks release. I have done a complete uninstall, run both CCleaner and Norton 360 Registry cleaner to ensure previous traces removed. Reinstalled full version. I am trying to load office 2010 but it will not load, It just keeps saying its a trial version. I rang microsoft and they told me I have to un install the trial version installed on my touchsmart 310-1025a.
Apparently it is put on there at manufacture stage. Can anyone tell me how to uninstall the trial so that it will let me use my full version. thanks

This article from the Microsoft knowlege base has a few different ways to uninstall it. There is also a Microsoft Fixit utility specifically for Office 2010.

Is there a way to find the serial number in these files so that I can reinstall the full version?

I had to restore from backup to a new hard drive, and only have part of my Adobe Photoshop installation. Is there a way to find the serial number in these files so that I can reinstall the full version? I have only part of the documentation so this is the best way I see to get the full version back.

you did purchase your product from these firms like Amazon, so you didn't get a serial number, only a code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe. Please have a look at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html. (Start here: How did you purchase your product?)
The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.
Additionally you should have a look at Adobe's database, to see what's stored/saved about your accounts. Here you will find general infos about your Adobe Account.
On the other hand, if necessary and for further questions click through http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and if "open" please use the chat, I for may part had the best experiences. I quote from Adobe's employee Preran: The chat button is activated as soon as there is an agent available to help.

That (an app no longer available) happens sometimes.
Your only way is if you have the appt on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case move it to your iTunes library and sync.

How to tell if you are buying a full version or upgrade

buying adobe premiere pro cs3 - how can you tell from the numbers on the packaging if it is a full version (commercial) or educational or just an upgrade, I was on hold for nearly 2 hours with adobe customer service and nobody picked up.

Are you buying from the Adobe Store? The package WILL state whether it's the full, an upgrade (see Phil's comment), or the eductional version.
Are you buying from a certified reseller? The package SHOULD give the full details.
Are you buying from eBay? Who knows what you'll get, or whether it will work?
Are you buying from an individual? Other than asking them, and trusting them, I'm not sure that there's a way to tell. Maybe a certain UPC on a clean shrink-wrapped box could yield a clue.
Note: if you need a key-gen, or similar, for the installation key and for a S/N, it will certainly be bogus. I realize that you know this, but I felt that I had to include it for any others.
