Quicktime won't play a video past 22 minutes. Why? I know it's longer than that.
And another video that should run to an hour and a half only runs to 40 minutes.
They are both in mpeg format.

With mpegs in QT this is usually due to an improper merging of several shorter mpegs, resultimg in an invalid timecode. Some other players ignore the error but QT will not. You may be able to use this freeware to correct the timecode and resave as an mpeg:

If that doesnt work you could try to play it with VLC from this site:

How do I play a full video?

OPlayer HD ($4.99 version) will play a sample of a video, which is 916 KB, but not the full video, 450.4 MB. When I click on the Name the "play" screen comes up and immediately goes away again. I've set the cache size (in Network Settings) to the max 100 MB. Am I out of luck because of the size, or is there another app that someone can recommend? Thank you.

You have just experienced what Apple and ITunes is
designed to do. Prevent you from sharing purchased

Yes, they do play in iTunes. (And just in case you don't know, I am on my home computer where I originally set up my iPod.) When I hook up my iPod to my computer the songs are there on my ipod, while veiwing it on iTunes, and they play, they just won't play on my iPod. And no, I don;t get an authorization window that pops up when I play the song/video, they play automatically

hmmm... What resolution settings do you have set? What type of video are you trying to view? Is it a purchased ITMS video?

Exporting full video after it has been clipped?

I was trying to trim a video using iMovie and it plays fine there. However, when I go to export it to my desktop, it moves the full video (which I don't want, I'm trimming it for a reason). What am I doing wrong?

Does the video no longer show up under the Photos tab? You should be able to edit it there. You can't edit within albums.

I failed to mention that the sound does play on the videos that are not playing.

How can I get flash player to show full video using Firefox (23.0.1) on MAC (OSX 10.8.4)

On Youtube and other sites, I only see the top left quadrant of the video. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the latest flash player and that did not solve the problem.

Actually, that was my fault - I saw "Tab" and thought of the full settings display and way I'd normally get to the proper place. Anyway, I tried taing the number fo time you mentioned but it did not work. Pressing the Tab key 6 tims and pressing enter did get me to the right place. Pressing Tab once highlights the full box (note yellow outline in 1st pic below:
From there, if I "press Enter again. Press Tab 5 (five) more times, press Enter and close the box." the box does not close and I get to:
If, on the other hand, when I get to the Display page a press tab twice, it highlights the item I need to uncheck as shown below:
If from there I Press enter, it does nto uncheck the box, which is what I think needs to be done. Neither does the space bar. And if I follow out the instructions from there I get to"
So, I'm guesing we may have different items on the setting pages. My version of flash is 11.8.800.94.

Memory full/video freeze - backup - Spiderman (!)

Read lots of these posts regarding memory full errors, so I am planning to upgrade the firmware. However when doing the backup, it's told me that it could not back-up copyright material (I am assuming this is the Spiderman vid that came with it) - Am I right in thinking that I will therefore loose Spiderman when I update the firmware?
The problem with memory manifests itself as follows:
Approximately 5GB free on the phone.
I have 660mb of music
When ever I download more than about 80MB of podcasts, the memory is full ...
I have also suffered from the video freeze problem - once you have a couple of vids on the phone, it will freeze for a couple of seconds. Whilsts other has said it is to do with the I/O speed of the mass memory, I don;t think it is - it is too intermittent. e.g. went to Coldplay gig. First vid - no skip (about 5 mins) 2nd & 3rd attempts to vid - froze after a couple of seconds - then managed 10 minutes straight off. No changes to settings..
Anyhow - if you can let me know about spiderman - is he a gonner on my phone when I update the firmware?

Importing from DVD not showing full video

I'm trying to import a video (VOB file) from a DVD, but the full frame of the video is not showing. The frame size that is importing seems to be importing as a different frame size than the video is and I can't seem to change it. The import seems to be cropping it. If I adjust the size in the Program Sequence window, it is showing the cropped version of the video.
Can any of the other files on the DVD be imported such as the IFO file?

... What other formats can iMovie & iDVD use? What do you recommend? ...just dv. and for stills jpeg, tifff.. and for music aiff, mp3... but that was not your question any other video-codec gets converted/has to be converted...

...you don't do settings using iDVD. this app needs a dv stream to work in the highest possible quality. use the export to iDVD feature of iM.
in case, you spend a few k$, you can buy DVDSP, including a tool called Compressor... after learning a few years to handle it, you can result smaller files with higher quality.....

Full video not exporting

For some reason FCP will not export the full timeline I'm working on.
The video files are HD, and I'm trying to export in Apple ProRes, something along the lines of 1080.
Is there any reason this should be happening?

i have 138K download radio link and ALL flash videos on websites that don't download pause every 5 seconds and buffers for 3.... is there a way to buffer the whole thing before playback?

Full video not sharing to DVD, but all of audio still there. What the?

Hi there, I've shared a long project (1 hour 26 mins) to DVD, and the last 6 minutes of video is missing. Audio is still there. Any suggestions as to what happened would be appreciated. Is there a maximun capacity for sharing or a possible glitch in the files where it leaves off?
Interestingly, when setting up for sharing to DVD, it said '2 files' on the bottom settings bar. Not sure if this relevant?

Try marking an In point at the beginning and an Out point at the end of the project. Try making a disk image rather than burning a disc. You can burn the disc from the disk image.
Yes, two files is normal, one for the MPEG-2 video and the other for the AC3 audio.

When i select a video, "youtube" my computer keeps buffing the video every two minitues while watching, i can;t watch a full video with in a normal time frame

my videos keep pausing when i am watching then it takes me 10 minutes to watch a 3 minute video, either on youtube or a movie stream

I do not know how to do this with an Apple TV (I don't have one), but as far as I know Apple TV only does mirroring.
If you have an HDMI cable long enough to reach your TV from where you sit, then it's easy. The TV could be set up in Extended Desktop mode (mirroring off) as if it was simply another computer monitor, and then you could just drag windows to it. If you have the Displays icon in your menu bar, that's where the setting is, or if the icon is not there, then the setting is in the Displays system preference. But again, that's for conventionally connected monitors, not Apple TV. If you don't have an HDMI cable and wanted a long one that's affordable you can get those at monoprice.com.
The answer we are still waiting for is if anyone knows if Apple TV can be used in extended desktop (non-mirroring) mode.

Media Encoder not rendering full video

So I just got Premiere Pro CC with Media Encoder and am trying to render a video I made in premiare pro. However video starts rendering half way throught the video and when done only the second half of the video is done. How can I fix?

Im kinda suffering the same thing, i dunno whats happened recently but its since the yosemite update. Im having to render in about 5 attempts each time rendering a bit further.

Full video not playing

Hi, apologies if this has already been asked and answered.
Every video that I import and then drop onto the timeline will always end before the total duration of the video is complete. Regardless of duration, the video will stop 1/100th of a second before (e.g. I have a video of 1.27 seconds; the video stops at 1.26). This is a crucial element of the work I am doing. How do I get it to play all the way through? I am very much a novice when it comes to video editing so any advice and information would be very much appreciated. No idea if this is relevant but according to the 'information' section, the imported video is 25 frames/second, the total bitrate is 30472kbps, and the total datarate is 28936kbps. If you need to know any other information please ask and I will try and find it out!

I've managed to get some more information (taken from the url you provided ):
It is Premiere Pro CS3
No updates installed (and unfortunately not can be as the computer is not and cannot be connected online)
The operating system(?) is Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise, and the computer runs on an Intel (R) Core 2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz. (Not sure if you need this but the RAM is 4.00GB and it is a 64 Bit operating system)
The video clip is a .avi type, however, being a computer novice I could not find information about the codecs and other items
No error message is occurring
The problem occurs on the playing of each video in the timeline
No other software is being run on this computer
No idea about third-party effects or codecs - sorry! (I can't imagine there are though as this computer has only recently been set up and with the sole use of this project)
Again, not sure about the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration, but for the same reasons as above, I doubt it is being used.
I've attached an image that may be of use.
