Full vs Periodic Settlement

Hi,
What are the differences between Full and Periodic Settlement in CO side?
Thanks,
Teo

Hi,
PER (periodic settlement): Settlement with this settlement type covers only the costs for the relevant settlement period. Say monthly.Every month you will settle the costs.
FUL:The difference to periodic settlement is that in full settlement you settle each time all the costs that have occurred for a sender object for all the periods prior to the settlement (and are not yet settled).Every month you will not do settlements
If PER rules exist, they take precedence over the FUL rule.
Hope Im clear
Thanks

What is Difference between Full settlement & periodic settlement, & how these works works on orders. Can anyone tell me that how can I check result for the same. (Kindly mention t-codes also)
    Regards.....Kaushal

    Hi,
Please find below some salient features of each os the settlement type you have asked for:
    1. Periodic settlement -
    a) Will have Product cost collector as cost object (both REM and Descrete scenarios)
    b) WIP and scrap variances are based on Target costs
    c) Variances are recognized in the month in which they are actually incurred based on the target costs. Varainces = Total costs - GR - Target WIP
    d) Default rule in OPL8 should be periodic settlement
    2. Full Settlement
    a) Manufacturing orders will be costs objects
    b) WIP will be at actuals. WIP = Total costs - GR value
    c) Varainces will be recognised only when the order is fully delivered. till that time though there are variances, they will not be recognized but will be included in WIP value. This is the key aspect of Full Settlement
    d) Default Rule in OPL8 would be full settlement

  • CJ88 Issue - Periodic settlement to a fixed asset

    Dear partners:
We are facing troubles because of this situation:
I am trying to make a periodic settlement using CJ88, but then appears error AA834. It only happens with one external activity linked to a purchase order with an advance payment. With other activities which have a periodic settlement to the same definitive fixed asset and no advance payment, there is no problem with the operation using CJ88.
Please excuse me if I am not being clear, I am an engineer and it si very difficult for me to talk about financial stuff even in my first laguage!
    Best regards,
    Diego C.

    Hi,
Please check whether you have defined in transaction code OAYB for "Transaction type group" 15 (down payments) the asset class of the affected asset You are posting to in settlement (normally this is the AuC which You can derive from the settlement rule->from there You can check the asset class).  You might receive the error on in settlement as indicated in the long text for the exact transaction group. Normally for transaction type group 15 you have to define all AuC classes to run settlement properly.
Hope it will be helpful for you.
    best regards, Takashi

    Hi,
I want to put another question to forum members linked to the above query only. As of now we separate the employee in PA40 personnel actions t-code, now if we use termination workbench, then Pa30 IT0000 does not get updated for the Separation action. In this case do we need to first run the Separation action in PA40 and then through Termination workbench also?
    Please help ASAP.

  • Problem with periodic settlement rule

    Hello everybody.
We are working with SAP ECC 6.0, in a poultry industry which produces egg for consumption. We have defined for address the production costs, a periodic Settlement Rule, considering the percentage of egg production by type (A, B, C, Jumbo, and so on), for each shed. The order is created with 18 weeks of life during the growing chickens phase, and 62 weeks during the production phase (eggs production). The process requires settling them on a daily basis to be able to update the cost of the product. Due to the own typical of the process, each bird produces a variable amount of eggs by type and day, therefore it is not possible to be established with exactitude the percentage of the daily production of each type of egg. Due to it, when we establish the percentage of the Settlement rule, these do not reflect the reality of the production of the day, because they are fixed by the system after the first settlement. We need to know if a possibility exists of being able to daily update the percentages of the Settlement rule before you settle each order daily maintaining the same order.
    Waiting you could help,
    Kind regards,
    Elvis E. Henriquez A.

I am a hobby farmer and have 5 chickens as well. The closest thing to this which I have seen here in the security forum is an abstract discussion about the chicken-or-the-egg-first dilemma in general... and another about some users being "like a fox in a chicken house"...
Perhaps you want to take a look around the SDN site for a more appropriate forum and let me know which one you would like to have this thread moved into.
Also search the blog area for this, as I distinctly remember some blogs on the topic a few months ago.
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Full Stop/Period turned into circle

I can't enter a full stop/period into text.  One day "double space bar" produced a small circle instead of ".". I cannot insert via symbol keyboard or via "double space bar". My messages look wrong and I cannot enter email addresses as can't produce the fullstop/period.  Please tell me how to fix. Thank you.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

  • Reversal of MR result within Full DPC period

    Hi,
I'm unable to reverse a MR result within a Full DPC period, after a MO document exits.
In same cases I can reverse (if the billing period is still open) and others that I can't because the billing time period is already open for the new contract.
Thx in advance for your help.
    AAL!

    Uwe,
The MR 09 is not billed since it was loaded after the Final Bill was sent. The MR 09 loaded within the billing period is only used on the next billing period (next year), hence, there won't be a next billing period since the BP has already MO, the Business wants to reverse the read.
    Can & Can't
    - The MR 09 consumption SHOULD BE ignore.
    - Final Bill consumption is correct.
    - Can't rebuild the customer and we don't need it also. Business impact and Customer is also impact.
    Hope this clarifies the case.

  • AGO Function doesn't use full previous period

    Hi,
I am using ago function in obiee 11.1.1.6. If my current period is April, AGO (quantity, MONTH, 1) only returns the data from 1 to 30th of March and not the full month. Seems it's trying to match the number of days in the current month and uses the same number of days in the previous month. Is this the known issue? Is there any workaround? I want full month data for the previous month using AGO function.
    TIA

    HI,
Obviously it must use all the dates from the previous months, just check with dimension hierarchy you created.
    Take a look @ this mkashu.blospot.com/2013/08/obiee-model-time-series-in-obiee.html

  • Issue regarding : ESI - Full and final Settlement

    Hi,
    Regarding ESI :
While doing Final settlement for the employee;  ESI is calculating on overall Gross..Actually, it has to take on Actual Gross Earned. for that month i.e. for 15 days and Esi should be calculated on that 15 days only.
Any inputs on the above issue is highly appreciated
    Regards
    Tinkoo.

    Hi Tinkoo,
The ESI is calculated on half yearly basis. From Apr to Sep and Oct to Mar. Assume that if an employee is drawing payment Rs 9500/- in the month of Apr 2010 and his salary is increased by Rs 1000/- in the month of May and his gross will become Rs 10500/- which is more than the ESI limit i.e. Rs 10000/- In this case ESI contribution for this employee will be continued to deduct up to Sep 2010 and the same will be discontinued from 2010 automatically.
In your case it seems the ESI is getting deducted for the period left i.e. first 6 months period.
    Regards
    Mohan

ESI limit has been changed from 10000 to 15000  Please have a note of it rest mohan has updated

  • How to pass the entry via HR to FI when the recovery is made in cash from employee for full and final settlement

    Hello Team,
Here is a scenario am stuck with-->
Employee has been terminated effective 28th April 2014 after the payroll run.
We are deducting (28-30th) 3 days salary( say 500 USD)
He is getting sm amount say USD1000 as business trip allowance
After the Full and final calculation  he is to pay to the company USD 400 which the employee has paid in cash.
How should be pass this entry to finance from HR?
    Thanks,
    Poonam

Hi Poonam, If Employee has paid cash. Here are your option. 1. Send that money treasury department 2. Do you have any deduction wage type? Use that in infotype 0014 and re-run offcyle for him when was active. 3. Perform GL account posting. 4. FI Business will get this as a deduction in balance sheet account but they will adjust this from the cash money account which got from that employee. Regards, Arpit

  • Internet address with full stops (periods) why error????

Am I missing something but I can't get JavaMail InternetAddress to accept email addresses that have full stops in the name part of the address.
    e.g. conrad.crampton@ britishlibrary.com
    conrad.crampton@ kent.pnn.police.uk
    (spaces in here deliberately)
there are so many email addresses that have '.' in them so are they or not valid???? If not, how do I make them valid for the purposes of JavaMail - can they be surrounded by "" or the . escaped (\.)??
Any suggestions as this is just bonkers!
    Ta
    Conrad

You are correct in your assumption that this is happening when Transport.send(message) is called.
I don't quite understand about the address not being in the mail server. The mail server I am using is one internal to my organisation (groupwise server), and I am trying to get a mail sent to an outside address in the format given before. The address is valid as far as a Groupwise client goes (and any other client I care to mention), so why is it rejected by the mail server? Does it have to be able to resolve this on some DNS somewhere?
This all sound a little naive but it didn't occur to me to have to understand the minutae of messaging in order to use JavaMail.

  • Settlement in the same period

    Dear Experts,
For a maintenance oder , we have issued components in the month of july ( Value Rs 300 ) and the order was confirmed in the month of August ( Expenses Rs 200 ) . When we settled the order , only the component value ( Rs 300 ) was settled in the month of july against periodic settlement and the activity expenses ( Rs 200) are settling for month August . When we tried to settle both expenses in the month of july system is not accepting . Is it a standard behaviour ?
What shall we do to settle both incurred cost ( Rs 300 + Rs 200 ) in the month of july . what are the financial implications if the system settle spares cost in the month of july and activity expenses in the month of August ?

    Hi Chola,
    It is standard behavior.
When you are trying to settle order in July at that your order had only material cost (Rs. 300) . There were no expenses Rs. 200.
So system wont accept the full settlement in July.
Instead you have both values in August, so you can settle in August.
Or if you want to settle order in July then you need to confirm the order in July, and make actual cost available in July.

  • How to settlement in many periods

    Hi all,
I am having a problem with settlement maintenance order in many periods.
In maintenance order, I have choose Periodic order, 50% each period. From 03/2009 (as I created maintenance order in March) to 04/2009.
When I run settlement for this order in March - 2009, It run ok and settle correct amount, means 50% cost to cost center.
However, when I go on settling for April - 2009, system inform "NO transaction data posted since last settlement". And I can not settle that order to cost center in April.
Please help me how can I settle in many periods.
    Thanks

    Hi Emily,
Pls try to understand the difference between settlement type PER and FUL.
    PER (periodic settlement):
Settlement with this settlement type covers only the costs for the relevant settlement period.
    FUL (full settlement):
In full settlement you settle each time all the costs that have occurred for a sender object for all the periods prior to the settlement (and are not yet settled). If PER rules exist, they take precedence over the FUL rule.
IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IF YOU GIVE 8.33%, SYSTEM WILL SETTLE THE COSTS ACROSS THE PERIODS.
As a standard functionality of SAP, what you are expecting is not possible. When you have incurred some expenditure for Maintenance Activity during a certain period, it needs to be settled in the same period. It is not even a Best Business Practice that, because of the reason that the cost in that particular period will be high, you want to settle across the period. If the expenditure is of Capital Exp nature, you have to treat accordingly.
And, when you see the screen of KO88, you will see "Settlement Period" and "Posting Period". This is , for example, you have posted some cost to the Order during the month of March. Due to some reason, you did not Settle the Order in March. and the March period is closed. Now, if you want to settle the Order in April with respect to the costs posted during March, you need to select the Settlement Period as March and Posting Period as April. Because the present period being April is open, system will settle the costs relating to March also in April.
Still the above option is not for what you are expecting like, costs of March, being huge, to be settled across the periods....
I would like to say sorry to other folks...pls reveiw SAP help and let me know if I am wrong...
Pls revert back for further explanation...
