Fully charged iphone 4 died will not reboot.

My fully charged iphone 4 died mid conversation yesterday. I tried turning it back on with the sleep/wake and home button with 2 different cables and two different chargers. I tried this again with both cables with it connected to my macbook. Nothing. Apple phone support had me retry everything i had done including trying to put the iphone into recovery mode still nothing. So at my wits end i setup a genius appointment for 12am at the 5th avenue apple store in manhattan. (great staff by the way). The Techs confirmed non of the conventional suggestions worked. In the end they did exactly what i would have done had i had a 5 star screw driver. Take the battery out, put the battery back in.
BAM.
Not dead iphone. Hope this helps someone.

Have you tried to reset the iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider.  Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.
