Fully copy iPhone 3GS contents into a new iPhone 4G

Hallo everyone,
I have an iPhone 3GS and was thinking of buying a 4G some time soon. Obviously I got quite a bit of things on my current phone (apps, photos, contacts etc), and I would therefore like to ask you whether there is a way to fully backup all the contents (if possible even the settings - but I don't want to be too demanding) of my current iPhone to the new one. Exempli gratia, could I directly syncronise the new phone with iTunes using the backup file of the old one?
I'm new on this forum and not too much experienced on iPhones (I got my current one only 1 month and a half ago), hope somebody has an answer to my question
Thank you all in advance,
Cheers, Emilio
P.S. I was also wondering, if I copy the photos I've taken with my current phone to the new one, will I still be able to see the "places" thing even with the old pictures?

  • How can I copy current board  content into new board?

    Hi there.
    how can I copy current board  content  into new board?

    Hi-
    Can I drag it to the external drive or perhaps just the songs, then copy/drag them to my new computer ?
    Pretty much, Yes.
    If you wish to keep the formatting, notes, ratings, etc. that are with the library, you should allow the iTunes software to "discover" the library.
    If the iTunes Library from one machine is placed on an external drive, the iTunes software on the other machine can be directed to the library of the external drive when connected.
    Allowing "Copy to Home folder/music" will provide for copying of the library to the new machine.
    Alternatively, if the library is loaded onto an iPod, the iPod can be used to transfer the music.

    I have a rather old iMac 20" (mid 2007) and I want to upgrade the Hard drive. How do I change it? How do I transfer all my applications? May I just copy the old hd into the new one? Thanks.

    There are many online tutorials on how to change out the HD on a mid 2007 iMac. One of the originals is from 2007 and is Upgrade your iMac 20" or iMac 24" aluminum (mid 2007) to 1TB Hard Drive and 4 GB RAM - DIY Guide. As far as migrating your system Apple helps out with that in Setup Assistant which automatically starts when you turn on a new Mac for the first time. After you have installed the new HD you will have to format the new HD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and then you will have to install OS X. The first time you turn it on Setup Assistant will start. Follow the directions and you will be fine. In order to restore your information you will need to backup what is on the current internal HD first. I'd recommend using Time Machine (Assuming you are using Leopard or later) AND also creating a bootable clone using either SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner.
    Please complete your profile so at the very least we know what version of OS X your machine has installed.

  • Using PowerShell to Copy the content of a Word Document and Paste that content into a New Message in Outlook

    So, I'm a little new to PowerShell and I came across a PowerShell which allow me to copy the content od a spreadsheet, into the new message in Outlook 2007.  I have search and search on a way to do the same with a Word Document.  I would like to
    create a PowerShell Script that copies the content of a Word Document and paste that content in an email message.
    I am basing my script on this
    #Create and get my Word Obj
    $w1 = New-Object  -comobject Word.Application
    $w1.Visible = $True
    $UserWord = $w1.Workbooks.Open("C:\Users\hhhh\Documents\Powershell\test.docx")
    #create outlook Object
    $Outlook = New-Object  -comObject  Outlook.Application
    $Mail = $Outlook.CreateItem(0)
    $Mail.SentOnBehalfOfName = "[email protected]"
    $Mail.Recipients.Add("[email protected]")
    #Add the text part I want to display first
    $Mail.Subject = "Test email"
    $Mail.Body = "My Comment on the Excel Spreadsheet"
    #Then Copy the Word using parameters to format it
    $Mail.Getinspector.WordEditor.Range().PasteExcelTable($true,$false,$false)
    #Then it becomes possible to insert text before
    $wdDoc = $Mail.Getinspector.WordEditor
    $wdRange = $wdDoc.Range()
    $Mail.Display()
    Any Help would be great!

    My requirements are the Word documents are a template of sorts.  The document will be changes prior to its email with some changes.  The other twist is that the customer might more that one recipients, and each recipient will have to have a separate
    email, with the same content of the word document.
    For example: Say I'm doing maintenance. The Word doc might descript that maintenance, in a set format. Once save the script is run to generate 3 to 10 email with separate recipients with the body of the email containing what was in the Word document.

  • Is it possible to move/copy my website content to a new template?

    I only learned the basic of Dreamweaver back in 2005, having completed a course in Dreamweaver MX 2004. This was the only way I knew of designing websites, so I created my first website using tables without using pre-designed templates or CSS. As a result, my site is NOT user friendly and is difficult to navigate for most visitors. I would like to copy all my contant to a new pre-designed template without all the major painstaking hassle of going through it to make fixing links, anchors etc. Are there any easy options? Many thanks in advance.
    This is my website: http://apathykills.site11.com

    First, thoroughly read the F1 Help Section on DW Templates to understand how they work.
    In a nutshell, you would:
    Put your sitewide headers, footers, navigation and links to external CSS into your main Template.dwt file.
    Add Editable Regions for content that will change from page to page.
    Preview template in browsers.
    Validate your code & fix reported errors.
    CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
    When you're completely satisfied with your template, Save and Close Template.
    Go to File > New page from Template & hit Create.
    Save this child page as index.html.
    Repeat steps 6 & 7 for all other site pages.
    Open your Template and add links to your navigation menu.
    Save Template and populate changes to child pages.
    Upload child pages to your server.
    Repeat steps 10 & 11 each time you make changes to your main Template.

  • Can I 'copy' albums, or photos, into a new iPhoto library??

    I am doing an iPhoto library rebuild after my iPhoto editing tool stopped working.  A quick test of a new library has solved this issue, but the rebuild of the original library is taking ages and I'm concerned this will not work. So far it's been nearly 25 minutes.
    iPhoto quickly generated this message:
    Rebuilding Library: 1974 versions restored
    But it continues to 'work'.  I don't have too many photos yet, but am traveling in Gautemala and so am looking for the quickest and easiest way to get my old library photos into the new, working one.  It won't take me very long to re-create albums or anything, so this I am unconcerned about.  I simply wish to get the photos from my original library, including the ones I edited/cropped/enhanced, into my new one that has a functioning editing tool....
    Is there any way to do this simply?  Can I just copy the pictures into the new library?  I've read/heard that 'importing' will not work.  If importing simply destroys the organization of the library, I don't mind.  At this point, I simply want my photos as they are now...
    Cheers!  Thanks in advance...

    Thanks for your response...
    In other words, by 'changes', you mean none of my editing will be brought over??  If I want to re-crop images, etc, I will have to do so?
    Also...I'm fairly new to Mac.  What exactly do you mean by restoring my backup to see if that fixed my editing problems?  Unless there is some application that automatically backs up everything in my library somewhere, I actually have been unable to back anything up yet (another issue, another story, you can see my other posts today!).
    Thanks again in advance....

  • Lost apps even if I copy my itunes files into the new ones

    I changed my pc for a Mac
    Then I copied my itunes files from my old pc into my new Mac.
    I'm seeing my apps in my files but when I sync, most of my apps didn't sync.
    What should I do.

    if you copy the iTunes folder from the old to the new Mac, your Touch will just continue to sync with iTunes as if nothing happened.
    make sure you copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media folder).

  • I am writing an applescript and want to paste the clipboard contents into a new file that opens in TextMate. This is what I have so far. The paste is NOT working...

    This is what I have so far:
    tell application "Google Chrome"
      view source of active tab of window 1 -- Or whichever tab you want
      delay 3
              repeat while loading of active tab of window 1
      delay 3
              end repeat
      select all of active tab of window 1 -- Must *always* be the active tab
      copy selection of active tab of window 1
      delay 3
      --          delete tab (active tab index of window 1) of window 1
    end tell
    delay 1
    tell application "TextMate-1.5.9"
      activate
      open
      paste
    end tell
    Paste is not working.

    This works, I am sure that there is a more elegant way??
    # Applescript to copy html of active tab to clipboard and open TextMate and paste source to new document

  • How to copy & paste an image into a new Pages document?

    With the latest version of Pages, you cannot copy & paste an image from iPhoto or the web any more.
    Is there an easy alternative?
    Using the toolbar alternative "Media" takes ages.
    Why did Apple remove this great feature of Pages????

    Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5.

    Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
    Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • How to copy exitsitng extracter into another new extracter?

    Hello,
    Please some one can tel me how to copy the existing  extracter into another new extracter.
    I have requirment as below
    Currect me if i am wrong ,need to enhance the existing extracter and add some new fields,and need to include some masterdata filds also to it.
    For master data i am going to do write routines at Transfermation so that no need to include in my exter for those filds to extracter.
    Please some one guide me in this scenario.
    Chrs

    Hi,
    you do not have to copy the extractor, you can enhance it with fields and fill them via enhancement coding --> rsa6.
    If you want to copy it, you need to check what kind of extractor you have. Is it a function module or just a table extractor.
    for fm: copy the function module via se37 and copy the extract structure via se11. Add your enhancements in the copied structures and coding. Create a new datasource with rso2.
    for table extractor: create a view adding the additionally needed fields. create a new ds with rso2. Surely you need to add some coding in the relevant enhancement.
    regards
    Siggi

  • Copy financial data and documents into a new version

    Hello,
    Does anybody know whether is possible to copy from one version into a new one all financial data
    (including all posting levels) as well as all documents (including all posting levels).
    There is a copy task where it is possible to copy financial data and documents, but the system only takes into consideration indivual values, not consolidated values.
    Thanks in advance,

  • How do you write any kind of content you want into a new file using Java?

    I know this is extremely basic, but I have absolutely no idea how to do this!
    How can I create a brand new file on my machine, this new file containing literally ANYTHING I want: String content; Image content, Excel content, Whatever content.. literally anything on the planet I can come up with..??
    I have tried everything I can think of to no avail and have exhausted every online tutorial I could find both here and via Google, to no avail. I can't figure it out, and this is all I have so far:
    * FileDownloader.java
    * Created on January 10, 2007, 3:47 PM
    * To change this template, choose Tools | Template Manager
    * and open the template in the editor.
    package FileTools;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    * @author ppowell-c
    public class FileDownloader {
        public static void download(URL url, File file) throws IOException {
            InputStream in = url.openStream();
            FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(file);
            byte[] b = new byte[1024];
            int len;
            while((len = in.read(b)) != -1) {
                out.write(b, 0, len);
            out.close();
        public static void download(String path, File file) throws IOException {
         download(new URL(path), file);
        public static void download(String path, Object contents) throws IOException {
         ObjectOutputStream out = new ObjectOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(path));
         out.writeObject(contents);
         out.close();
    }This code fails to download contents into a new file in the case whereby I want to create a new .ico Icon file with the contents from ImageIcon.getImage() as an example, which is what I want to do right now.
    Thanx
    Phil

    beyond any mortal being? In PHP it's extremely easy,
    it's just three lines:
    <?
    $fileID = @fopen('/path/to/your/file', 'rb');
    @fputs($fileID, $contents);  // $contents can be
    literally anything, even anobject!
    @fclose($fileID);
    The thing here is - what is in $contents? I personally don't have a clue how to manually create the contents for a .bmp file for instance - I don't know what should go where in order for a .bmp reader to be able to recognize the file as a "real" bitmap (.bmp) file. I can, however, just put anything I want - anything at all into a file, write it out, calling it a .bmp file. Will it be a .bmp file? No, of course not. So, what is in $contents?

  • How to copy a record into a new one

    I would like to copy a whole record into a new one. Duplicate_Record doesn't help, because I do not necessarily want to copy the last record, but any record.
    The user should be able to open a record and then call "copy" and the current record is beeing copied into a new one. The user can also choose "new record" and nothing will be copied into the new record.
    So, if I want to copy the record, it's always the last one that has been opened.
    Should I save the values from the last record in globals and pack them into the new record?

    Sorry, the data is very complex, so I can't give an example. But to say it in a simpler way: I would like to copy any record, opened by the user. But not the last record in the database -> therefore I can't use duplicate_record.
    Hope it is clearer this time?still you have not given the data and output which you want.
    But not the last record in the database
    what did you mean here...
    oracle doesnt have a track of the records which were inserted to the db.
