Fully deleting a program

I recently downloaded 2 online poker programs (full tilt and poker stars) and I want them removed from the MBP. I've already moved them from the application folder to the trash but I'm concerned that there are still files floating around my computer that I don't want. When downloading them each had over 1000+ files that downloaded onto my comp. I've also checked for files called poker, full tilt, poker stars in the finder and didn't find anything, but how do i know if the files have different names. I'll obviously be more careful about what I download i the future. Thanks

For programs that don't have an uninstaller I usually use a program like AppZapper to check for files or folders that the program has installed in the OS.
You run the AppZapper program and instead of dragging the program you want to get rid of to the trash you drop it into a window for AppZapper. It takes a look at files that are in the system that are linked to the program and allows you to delete those also.

Syncing and capacity issues - how do I fully delete certain iPod items?

Perhaps I just don't know how to properly delete files off my iPod. In short: Podcast items that I manually drag from iTunes to a playlist in my iPod don't seem to fully delete after I delete them from the playlist. And I don't see them listed in my ipod podcast area.
The bulk of my ipod consists of music I manually tossed on there. That portion never gets synced. And I haven't added new music in a long time.
I have three different podcasts programs I auto sync the last 3 episodes of (it was 5, but I reduced it due to the problem I'm describing in this post).
I also manually drag (via iTunes) some podcasts from my laptop to a playlist on the iPod. I do this once a week. The shows I move over aren't always the same, this is one reason I don't auto sync them. (i.e. I might decide to move over a really old episode of a program I rarely listen to.)
The podcasts I manually moved to the playlist seem to only show up in the playlist. They don't appear in the Podcast or Music sections.
Each week I also delete the contents of the playlist (by going into the playlist and deleting the listing of the playlist's contents).
*If I delete the (manually moved) item from the playlist then it appears that it doesn't free up the space*. Since I can't find any other mention of the item on the iPod, how do I delete it?
I'm aware that if I drag an item from iTunes to the iPod's podcast section, then a entry for the item shows up there. And then I can delete the item and get that space back. Maybe this is the proper way to move files and perhaps I'll start doing that. But at this point I just want to fully delete all the old items I can't see anymore.
Because of this problem I've had to delete more and more other items from my iPod to free up space for the new podcasts I want to manually move over. I'm getting tired of doing this. Thus, this post.
If need be I can provide examples of the exact steps I take, space left, etc.
Using iTunes 10.1.2. I've read some threads in the past about capacity issues that started cropping up in 10 or so. I don't know if my problems are related.

Note: by using a third-party iPod file browser, I'm able to easily see all the hidden podcasts (they add up to many many megabytes). However, the one I'm currently using, Senuti (free version) doesn't seem to allow track deletion from its browser, it just lets me transfer from the browser to iTunes.
Is there a (free?) file browser that will let me delete tracks?
Also, I haven't examined all of the hidden tracks, but for two of the podcasts shows, it looks like the oldest hidden ones were added on 6/19/2010. iTunes 9.2 released on 6/16/2010 and I likely installed it around that time.

How do I fully delete an email account from my Apple Mail app on my iMac?
When I go here: Mail > Preferences Mail > Accounts
I got the message that I needed to delete it from my Internet Accounts.
When I go here: System Preferences > Internet Accounts > select the account >
I cannot select or click the minus sign on the bottom left to delete the account because it does not appear in the list.
Yet the email account still shows up in my email logs with errors that it cannot connect.
The email account no longer appears in the left column where all my email accounts are in Apple Mail as I have deleted that domain and no longer use it, so the email was deleted at the server level. However, again, the email account still shows up in my email logs with errors that it cannot connect.
This is driving me bananas!

If you haven't already done so, please quit and relaunch Mail. See whether the account goes away.

Thanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

After updating my latest iTunes, the currupted program won't open or start, even tried deleting the program and reinstall.

On my Windows 7, my latest iTune, after udating to the latest version, I cannot open or start the program. I even deleted the program from my system and then reinstall/download iTune from Apple Store, but the same problem persist. Anyway to get back my iTune back?

It sounds like you have uninstalled the iTunes application but you are still not able to launch it after a recent update. I would recommend uninstalling the iTunes application and its associated files with the following article:

How do i delete a program off of a mac?

i've had my mac for a while but i was wondering how do i delete a program off of it i've just been taking the folders the program is in and dragging it to the trash? is that the right way.

Yes, dragging the app to be disposed of to the trash and emptying the trash deletes the app. from your system.
But some apps come with their own uninstaller. When they do, the preferred method of deleting them is to use the uninstaller.
If you're wondering whether you've gotten all the files related to a particular app off of your machine, you can always run a spotlight search and see if anything remains, but in most (almost all cases) these straggler files (should they be there at all) are typically quite small and nothing to worry about.

PS Your stats note that you're presently running OS X 10.4.3. If that's so, you might want to think about updating to the most current version (10.4.5), as Apple recommends it for all users. You can update just by running Software Update (clicking the Apple Menu > Software Update) or you can use the 10.4.5 Combo Updater. In my view (and in many others') the Combo Updater is the way to go.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The Safari, Email and Notes applications are native to the iOS and is unable to be deleted. Since this is the case, they are either in a folder on the iPhone, on another page or Restrictions are enabled. You can also search for these Apps on the iPhone by touching the screen and sliding your finger down. Here is some information regarding these features. I have no clue what close your iPad means. You can't shut it off? Try rebooting and see what happens.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Any apps you've had installed on your iPad can be downloaded again.
Go to App Store on your iPad and select 'Updates' and then tap on Purchased. You can then view all purchases made on the iPad or purchases made on other devices by selecting the 'Not on this iPad' tab.

I downloaded a program which took a minute or so. I did not like it so I deleted the program per the instructions which only took a second or two. Does this really delete the program from the iPad?

Since you make no mention of how you deleted it, I can only guess. But if you help an icon until they all wiggled, then tapped the "x", yes.
