Fun speed minimum increase and get noisi on my imac 24 late 2007
Hi to all, I have been searching for this issue through many forum and discussion and I didn't found any solution, but I notice that this issue is quite common...
Here is my Story.
I never had any problem on my Imac and about 20 days ago around the update 10.6.2 time (I refer to this update but not sure what is the cause of the problem).
My Imac fun speed increase just that little bit that my mac is turning a very minimum of noisy...
Now this noisy is not a thing that for a mac sounds regular. Especially at night now I can hear him so I have to turn off ...
To confirm that is a fun problem is the fact that when I put my hand back to the screen under the apple logo I can feel air coming out from the hole fun exit air.
To ensure my problem I went to my brother mac same model and that air is not coming out as much as mine...
--------------- What I tried to resolve
Reinstall over my system without format the disc
- Didn't work at the new login same issue... (what is interesting about it that when you in the installation phase my Imac turned quite as before!!!
------- Second try --- Reinstall system but format disc drive (fast mode)
I did worked for 10 days !!! then all turned back as before
----------------- What software I did install before this issue fun problem come out?
In the first time It appair after installing final cut studio 2 and the update to 10.6.2
---------------- In the second installation time I did not install final cut ---- but after installing open office the problem came again...
Now I don't know really what is the real deal... In my computer experience I had the feeling that also something strange has happen. I emplane you .. Since I format in a fast mode can it be possible that I found in my application folder some programs I did install on my preview system installation?
If so that noise problem it maybe come back as well?
(please, note I'm not interesting to use any "fun speed software controlling" to see the speed I just wish to see my mac work fine as before)

I don't have any exact figures as how much the temps went up as i didn't monitor it that closely before, as everyone who owns a iMac knows they can get quite hot.
Last night when i checked the temp on the GPU was 78 degrees celcius and i belive that thats a good 8-10 degrees more that it normally was with Leopard.
If i try and hold my hand behind the screen to the left where i believe the power unit is located it gets to hot for me to keep my hand there for more than a few seconds at a time.
I don't have the other numbers available right now but i can post them tonight when i get home.
I also had the problem before Snow Leopard but not as bad as with Snow Leopard. When i was using Leopard it normally took quite a long time for the problems to occur. I almost only got them if i wasn't using the computer and the screensaver or power saver for some reason failed to start, it was also quite easily fixed by just activating the screensaver or powersaver for a while.
My conclusion is as follows:
1. The iMacs has probably always had persistance problems.
2. The iMacs gets quite hot
3. After Snow Leopard the Imacs gets even hotter and this affects the percistance problems so that they grow worse
All this accordign to me is clearly related to the hardware itself, i.e poor cooling, poor quality components and so on, nothing points to this being a user or usage problem and i therefor think that apple should address it accordingly.
I'm in Sweden and my nearest Apple Store is quite far away and getting hold of someone at apple in sweden to discuss this matter with is easier said than done.

How to do to connect imac late 2007 to amplifier to get dolby with RCA wires only
I've got an iMac late 2007, 26" display, 2,4 Ghz Core 2 Duo, OX 10.10.2, digital audio/headphone output.
I'd like to get Dolby audio by iMac with a connection to my amplifier SONY Integrated AV Amplifier TA-VE610 it hasn't optical input only RCA. I know that i mac must to feel "something ?" to get able digital output by mini jack but i don't understand what's the right connection by cable.
Now i think to buy: 1 cable mini jack to Toslink, 1 optical wire, adapter optical/RCA and RCA wires to amplifier. All this because audio output needs to feel right impedance to leave free digital audio.
Can somebody help me? It's seems a little bit complicated chain.

Can I cancel the maverick download and get it free at a later date
I already started the Maverick download. Can I cancel this and get this OSX Update later for free? If so how do I do this.
You may see about learning how to save the Mavericks installer to a USB flash drive for later installation, then do a backup (copy/clone) of your older system on an externally enclosed hard disk drive, and test it as bootable before committing the upgrade of the Mac to a later OS X system. A self-powered HDD and use a utility such as carbon copy cloner, is a good path; separate from any timemachine time capsule method.
And be sure the older Mac has adequate hardware upgrades to actually work as well as possible with Mavericks, should you choose to run it on an older fairly early model MacBook. Some users with investment in older software hold back on an upgrade past Snow Leopard due to the lack of support in later OS X versions for the vintage powerPC applications that worked in Leopard/Snow Leopard due to the inclusion of Rosetta.
Relatively current models from the past build year or two should have little trouble upgrading OS X, some would still do best with a good RAM upgrade; and if there is plenty of free space on the hard disk drive. And make a complete backup of your older system on a device outside of the Mac and one that will not be affected by an upgrade to the Mac's running OS X. A time-machine drive is not ideal in this instance, since it can't boot the Mac and would not contain all the previous OS X version.
A MacBook from 2008 is rather early compared to a recent build series MB or later MB/Pro, Air, etc. Double check RAM specs and get a quality set of RAM chips from a reputable reseller. Guides from http://iFixit.com can help install them, & http://mactracker.ca can help determine the MB configuration specs, upgrades, etc.

I tried updating my phone to the iOS5 software. I was over the max capacity of the space in my phone so the uodate failed. After attempting this the apps in my phone wouldn't open. As soon as I click on them the screen would go blank and either stay black or go back to the home screen. Turning my phone off didn't work so the only choice I was able to find was to give my phone a hard reset. This action failed so next I backed up my files and restored my phone. NOW I'm stuck because the phone will not show in windows (xp) OR in iTunes.
My phone is now set in restore mode as to if I want to set it up as a new phone or back up from icloud or itunes, neither of the last two work. If I set up my phone as new, will I be able to reback up my phone to the previous data I had before I restored it? I really don't want to lose any pics or contacts I had.
I've been working on this for 5 hours!! I've been to every site and tried any and every tip I could from apple to fix the problem and have had NO successIf the device is not being detected in iTunes, has a different USB port or sync cable been tried? What about a reboot of the comptuer?
As for pictures/videos taken with the device, they are designed to be copied to a computer on a regular basis. Did you choose to not do this prior to attempting the update? They may be lost at this point (although they should be in the backup, but no guarantees). -

Why does my iphone log me into Favebook and my Hotmail on my imac?
My iphone seems to log me into Facebook and hotmail while sitting idle at home unless I turn it off. I don't want it to do that. Others use my home computer and it bugs me that I turn on my imac to find me logged into FB and HM. Anyone?
thanks very muchUnderstood. Every single time I leave my imac I click safari drop down menu to "Reset Safari" which clears all passwords, history etc.... I know for a fact that my iphone logs me back in becasue I have tested it over and over again. If I turn off the power to my iphone and get back onto my imac None of my log in or email is ever open. I have to enter name and password.
IF,,,,, I have my iphone on and my computer is even in sleep mode or on doesn't matter... If, I go into email via iphone or check my facbook on iphone later once back at my imac my hotmail is open and so is my facebook. I usually do not even have my wifi turned on in my iphone either. I swear, I have tested it repeatedly since march when I got my first verizon iphone.
So, am I the only one who has ever had this happen? -

Have an older iMac and am contemplating adding a new MacBook Air and a 2TB Airport Time Capsule to increase WiFi speeds. My question is (a) is this a compatable setup and (b) will the older iMac slow the WiFi speeds?
ThanksBe careful about mixing Time Machine backups and other data on the TC's disk. That will cause conflicts, sooner or later. See #Q3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule for an explanation and some possible workarounds.

Hello, i just installed a vertex 2e 90gb ssd in my macbook pro 13" (8.1 early 2011). But when i do a disk speed test i only get 125 mb/s write speed and 146 mb/s read speed. Thats under 50% of what i should get. The disk have firmware 1.35 and 3 gb/s linkspeed when i check in systemreport.
Anyone know why i get so low speed from my ssd?Speak to the manufacturer. They did the bench tests.

grey screen no apple followed by blue screen with vertical lines. Graphics and logic board replaced <6 months ago. What to do? I held down shift, it gets HOT HOT and makes noises. (for safety mode) followed by a blank grey screen and blue screen. Then tried the other way (sorry, I think it's command alt delete? I don't remember) and it turned from grey (no apple symbol) to blue blank. Then third time, grey followed by blue with vertical lines, not blocky clear lines that you can see if you are close to it.

Line dropping and high Noise margin follwing Excha...
Hi guys.
Back again for my biannual problem solving session. So heres my story. Our internet went off last Thursday for 10 minutes or so followed by an email letting us know that our local exchange had been upgraded, then began the problems. Incidentally, inicially I wa over the moon, my speed had increased to a blistering 10.8 Mbps.
From then on, whenever we mad eor received a phone call our broadband would drop out. I made the usual call to India, mive the hub etc etc but to no avail. eventually I decided to buy and change the micro filters. This worked, great, but why did I have to do this? Why did my filters no longer work?
I had hoped that would be the end of it, still at regular intervals, the BB is dropping out and reconnecting, each time it reconnects, the HH2 is syncing at a lower speed and the Noise margin is increasing. Only slowly but it is very irritating. We have gone down from 10.8 to just over 9Mbps. Where will it end? Anyhoo, I have spoke to India again and they are looking into it.
Any ideas/comments? Here are my stats.

Go to Solution.Just leave it alone, it will sort itself out after a few days, its best not to get the helpdesk involved, as there is nothing wrong with your connection, its just the normal period of settling in when the tline is upgraded.
Its best not to restart or disconnect it for at least 10 days, otherwise you will end up with a much slower speed.
ADSL2+ is uses more bandwidth, so its important to keep the distance from the point where your line comes in, to the home hub, as short as possible, and have a filter at the point it enters the house, so that the broadband signal does not go down the extension wiring.
The ideal solution is a filtered faceplate at the master socket, that will ensure that you get the fastest connection speed.

Some of the older microfilters are not as effective at stopping the higher frequency ADSL2+ signals from getting into your phone circuit, which is most likely why you were asked to change them.

hi all new on here so thought i would give it a go,
i have had bt infinity installed,
it as been in just over a month now and i have had at the best about 5 days with out a problem, i have had to phone up support our nice friends in India who read from a computer, so we can go through the regular diagnostics and get now where,
my problem is the dropping of wired and wifi and low speeds i have done all what i can think of ie, master socket line test (quiet test) no noise on line, turn of smart setup, channel changing and all to no avail i have the latest firmware update for my BTHub5a dual wifi not synced this happens at different times of the day done speed tests sometimes no server and did not complete, at my wits end, thinking of canceling as they are not providing a service i signed up for, sent email to watchdog this morning and i am making a complaining to ofcom, regards picktech thank in advance for any helpYou can try fixing wireless problems by turning off Smart Wireless and splitting the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. To do this:
1. Go into your advanced settings on the HH5 and select the wireless tab.
2. Then select the 5GHz tab and select NO to "Sync with 2.4 GHz:".
3. Then choose a new SSID by adding "5" to the existing one, so you can tell the difference between 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
4. While you're there change "Channel selection:" from "Smart wireless" to the current channel.
5. Then press the "Apply" button.
6. Then choose the 2.4GHz tab and change "Channel selection:" from "Smart wireless" to the current channel on 2.4GHz.
7. Then press the "Apply" button again.
Now on your devices you can select which SSID (which band, 2.4GHz or 5GHz) to connect to.

hi there, can anyone help please.
i was suppose to have my ip profile reset 11 days ago but my speed is still slower than it was, also my downstream is now 5.344mbs when it was 6 mbs b4. i have tried to use the bt speed tester but it hasn`t worked for me in months. are my high error anything to worry about ?

51595 / 13451hi guys, sorry for late reply. i have had the broadband connected to the test socket like you sadi for 30 mins. my downstream now is even worse and so is my download speed. how can i get bt to put my downstream back to 6mbs and reset my ip profile to 6 mbs. i was getting 5.38mbs i am now getting 4.1 mbs.
