Function and Ctrl-Keys in HTML DB

How can i use Function (F1...F12) and CTRL-keys in HTML DB ?
1000++ thanks...

Well, this won't give you the ability to use the Fn keys on a PC keyboard, but you can set your own AccessKey for various elements on the page. Check out:
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutorials/html_401/article.php/3479621
It's been suggested at least a few times that HTML DB could support this in a declarative fashion.
Hope this helps.

  • Newbie: swap fn and ctrl keys on T60

I bought a used T60.  I am used to using HP Pavilions where the Fn and Ctrl keys are in the opposite positions as on the T60, and I am having trouble retriaining my fingers.
So i looked for info about how to swap them.  I understand KeyTweak doesn't work on the Fn key, and then I ran across a message about getting to the BIOS.
I have never messed with BIOS stuff before, but I did interrupt booting, get to it, but do not see swapping the Fn and Ctrl keys listed among the keyboard options.  So I am guessing this feature is maybe in a newer verison of the BIOS.
I don't want to trash my laptop, but I'd like to swap the functioning of these keys - is there an idiotproof way?
Also, I used the onetouch Pavilion keys a lot to invoke Firefox or thunderbird.  Is there a way to make a key on the T60 keyboard do that?  There are several keys I never use for anything, like PgUp, etc.
    Thanks.

Not exactly true. You can't swap the keys with ORIGINAL BIOS - there are modded versions available that will let you do it.

  • Request: BIOS for GX740 to swap Fn and Ctrl key.

    hi,
I was redirected from this topic https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=139362.0
Apparently there is no BIOS function in GX740 for the owner to swap Fn and Ctrl key.
Really appreciate it if it's available.
    Thanks.

  • Switch the function and control keys

Sounds like a stupid request but my life would be much simpler if my Lenova T540p keyboard had the function and control keys switched. I use the control key ALOT and having it to the far left hand lower corner would be awesome.
    Thank you.

    Hey there Redrabbit,
Try your BIOS. For me (Thinkpad T540p), it's in Config>Keyboard/Mouse>Switch FN and CTRL keys.

  • MS-1757 Fn and Ctrl keys swapped

Suddenly my function and control keys are reversed and I can't figure out how to turn them back. I've had this MSI laptop for over a year and I've never had this problem, Ctrl on the bottom left corner of the keyboard and function just to the right of it. Now, all of a sudden, I have to hit Fn + C for copy and all other Ctrl-governed shortcuts.
Does anyone have any idea how to turn it back to the way it used to be?

Have you updated BIOS or EC firmware lately? Maybe you should debug the issue beginning from BIOS and EC.

  • Swapping Function and Control keys on a Lenovo Laptop

Lenovo laptops reverse the usual positions of the Function and Control keys (see this photo). It seems like a minor problem, but it is very frustrating.
How can I swap these keys? I have tried various xmodmap configurations (some based on the examples provided in the manual and some based on this eerily similar question), but nothing seems to work.
    Additional information
Fn keycode: 151, Fn name: XF86WakeUp
Left Control keycode: 37, Left Control name: Control_L
Thanks in advance, best community ever.

Free laptop from work. The hardware interface isn't great, but I'm not complaining. :-)
Anyway, that worked beautifully. Thanks for the tip!

  • Can I swap the Function and Control keys?

Is it possible to swap the Function and Control keys?

With limitations; yes. Go to System Preferences and select Keyboards & Mouse and add your choices. Keep in mind that such chances will affect all well intended Apple commands and may end up driving you crazy!

The BIOS feature that you request already exists.
    1.  reboot the computer
    2.  press F1 to enter BIOS setup
    3.  config -> keyboard/mouse -> Fn and Ctrl Key swap

  • Want to switch the position for the Fn key and Ctrl key~~ very annoying

I got my W520 CTO for about two weeks, I hate the keyboard design.
I don't understand why Lenovo engineers change the positions of
Fn key and Ctrl key! So unprofessional..
For most keyboards, the Ctrl Key is at most bottom-left, which
is convenient for the little finger.
Ctrl key is so often used (especially for programmer) such that
it should be easily pressed using litter finger.
Fn key is seldom used (unless for projector, adjust brightness
    as such).
I am thinking to change the position of the two keys, does Lenovo
    provide this service?

    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/Why-is-the-FN-key-on-the-outside-left-inste...
I prefer Ctrl on the inside; it's closer to the pinky. Also more comfortable for FPS's as you can curl the pinky and hit it with the back rather than the front.

  • Fn and Ctrl key swap for GX740?

hi, I searched through some topics, I found out that there is a EC mod to swap Fn and Ctrl key for GX620, but does it work for GX740?

No, it will not work and probably will kill your notebook if you attempt this.

  • Apple AL Bluetooth Keyboard - Tab, Caps Lock, Function and Control keys just stopped working

    Hi All -
All of a sudden I get on my baby, 27" iMac OSX 10.6 and the some keys on the bluetooth keyboard do not work. Specifially the Tab, Caps Lock, Function and Control keys. I'm fine with the caps lock gone (why is it there?) but the others are useful.
I've searched all over for a solution but I haven't found one. Tried to upgrade the firmware which is fine, reset the PRAM done, checked the speech per apple support nadda.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi
Go to System preferances > Universal Access > Mouse or Mousie and trackpad > and turn your Mouse keys off.
Then disconnect and reconnect your keyboard.
Note that you don't open your mouse under hardware in System Preferances, this is for a whole different group of settings
    Hope This helps

  • Shift key and ctrl keys not working correctly...

both rt/lt shift keys are making symbols ⁄€‹›fifl‡ÎÔÇ´ instead of caps and my ctrl key asks me if i really want to shut down my computer. i'm really hoping this is an easy fix but can't find anything in forums. if additional information is needed please let me know. HELP PLEASE

Hi, Chris. I don't know of any. If there were a way, I'm sure it would require that all the keys be working properly, which yours aren't. You've got crossed wires somewhere, and you're going to need a replacement keyboard.

I performed a hard-reset and the computer still worked fine, it seems the flashing process never started. I noticed I had the USB stick plugged into the USB/eSata combo port...wonder if that made a difference. I'll try flashing again using a regular usb port.
Edit: This flash worked perfectly ) Don't know what happened the first time...
    Thanks,
    Pherein
    well done
the lockup behaviour exactly as described can hapends in very rare cases in ratio 1/100,
its hapends to me think around 4-6 times [from 500 ec updates one after another in a loop],
and in some very rare cases the EnE flasher hangs at startup and FAN spinup @100% and do nothing,
i suspect ec unable to enter in reset mode or its some kind of the EnE flasher bugs,[too small delay to wait the EC for reply]
but its not dangerous, etc: do not contain deadly properties.

  • GT70 2PE FN and CTRL keys swapped!

    Hey guys,
So this is a very weird problem: recently after a reboot, my FN and Left CTRL keys got swapped.
I understand this happens at BIOS/EC level, but haven't touched/flashed those in a while. I've been using a custom BIOS provided by Svet for about 4 months, and never had any issues with it or keyboard problems such as this one.
Anybody know what's happeneing here? How do I fix this? Thanks in advance

Quote from: Svet on 12-April-15, 23:51:28
    huh
can you check if they are swapped in windows only or also in bios setup or outside windows?
and have you done EC reset? https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/how-to-reset-the-ec-embedded-controller
Hey Svet, thx for fast reply,
Currently I have a dual-boot configuration (Windows 8.1/Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, both 64-bit) and I can confirm it also happens in Ubuntu, so it must not be Windows related.
Also I noticed one thing, when I went to BIOS to check current EC version all I found was something like this:
    EC Version: Sve???? Ver?.??
EC Build: <a large string of numbers>
if you want I can post a photo of this. So should I still reset the EC like you said?
