Function keys won't copy or paste in iWork

The Edit menu on both Pages and Numbers shows F2, F3 and F4 as shortcuts for Cut, Copy, and Paste. These do not work; all I get it a ding sound. Same result when using Apple-X, Apple-C or Apple-V. These shortcuts do work in other software. Any suggestions?

I'm surprised.
Numbers Help > Keyboard Shortcuts lists only command-X, command-C and command-V for these actions. These three (and several others) are common to almost all application for the Mac. I suspect that you or a previous user off your Mac added the Fkey shortcuts, as these are also not listed in System preferences on my machine (although it's possible they have become 'universal' in more recent versions of Mac OS).
You may be the victim of corrupted preferences files. Deleting these is a first aid step for many issues. Testing the action of Pages using a different user account will give you an indication if it's a possibility here. If the problem exists in a second user account (you can create a second user just to test this) would indicate a system problem; behaviour as expected in the second user account would indicate a problem in your account, and would strongly suggest deleting the prefs files.

Just updated to 10.9.2 and my function keys won't work and mouse won't scroll!

Updated to OS X 10.9.2 last night and my function keys wont work today. the brightness keys do nothing and my volume keys jump to desktop and the calendar display. My mouse has also stopped scrolling. I have looked in system settings > Keyboard but there doesnt seem to be any answers.

Pressing enter query function key more than once displays past search key

At present, in Oracle Forms this is what's happening:
1. User presses entery-query (F7)
2. User searches for employee name smith. Plases %Smith% in the employee name field.
3. User presses execute-query (F8)
4. All employee names with "Smith" is displayed.
5. User presses enter-query again (F7). Screen is cleared.
6. User presses enter-query for the 2nd time (F7). %Smith% appears on the employee name field.
The problem is the user do not want %Smith% to appear the second time they press enter-query. If you guys have any idea or have experienced this, please let me know.

You are experiencing the default query last criteria functionality. When you execute the ENTER_QUERY built-in while in enter query mode, it will show the last query criteria. To override this, you could create a KEY-ENTQRY trigger on your block and give it code similar to:
IF :SYSTEM.MODE != 'ENTER-QUERY' THEN
ENTER_QUERY;
END IF;

Change dimension constraints key after copy and paste

How do I change the dimension constraint key after I copy and paste or after the dimension is created? The reason is that the dimension I copy and paste has constraints named as "COPY_OF_RP_MERCHANT_UK" (I would like to be remove the COPY_OF)

Right-click on the dimension and select Editor. In the editor, click on the Edit menu and select Table Properties. Click on the constraints tab and rename the constraints.

Cannot copy and paste from Word into Mail

I cannot copy and paste from Word into Mail. Neither from using the keyboard shortcuts, or using the Menu function. I can copy and paste from other applications into Mail- but for some reason, text copied from a Word document (both in .txt and .doc formats) will not paste into an open email. Anyone else have this issue? It's a new issue. I used to be able to do this easily.

I had similar issues starting about the same time or within the past week. However, I can copy and paste, it just takes considerably longer than it used to before. Copying something from a web page into Word could take up to 30 seconds now on my computer but it shows a busy mouse pointer while it is loading, then clicks/pops when it loads into the Word document, but then actually takes about another 5 to 10 seconds to appear in the Word document. I have no idea why it is delaying now when it did not do it before, but since it is still going into the document I am living with it for now. Are you waiting long enough to see if it appears?

I've been pulling my hair out trying to get to the bottom of this issue.
ProBook 6460b.
Win7x64
Certain functions keys won't work within windows.
External display toggle Fn+F4, And brightness functions Fn+F9, and Fn+F10, won't function in windows.
The brightness keys function normally in the bios so I know the keys are operational.
Steps already taken:
Updated the Bios
Uninstalled and Reinstalled Video Driver
Reinstalled Hotkey support driver
Any other suggestions?

Try removing the com.apple.iCal.plist file from your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. To find that Library folder, if you are using Lion, use Finder>Go Menu>Depress the "Option" key>Library. Drag the .plist file to your desktop, and log out/in or restart.
Next, make sure that you are not connected to the internet. Then to to your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder and remove any files with "Cache" as a part of the file name. Use the same method as listed above to get to the correct Library Folder. Log out/in, or restart and check iCal for functionality.

Disable copy and paste function in jtextfield

I wish to disable the copy and paste function (CTRL+C and CTRL+V) of the data in the jtextfield... anybody can help?

I think you can add a KeyListener to listen to those keys and when you get such an input just do nothing. Not tested though.

I'm using windows 7 and 8. I can copy and paste photos , but when I copy a URL the paste function does not work. It is greyed out.

Are you using remote desktop or other similar software? Please attempt to kill the related process, such as rdpclip.exe, etc.
Where do you want paste the URL?
Have you tried composite key Ctrl + V?
Please try running SFC /scannow command to fix some corrupt system files.

Nokia E71x Copy and Paste Wireless Key

I have my long and obscure WEP encryption key for my wireless network in a text document on my phone. I can open the document and copy the key, but it won't let me paste it into the "Pre-Shared Key" input box.
Can the OS copy and paste between different applications?

Copy and Paste Stopped Functioning

So I know how to copy and paste information. I have been doing it for years and now it has stopped functioning for me on my mac book pro =(
I can't even copy/paste things in word, text edit, skype, internet emails etc.
This is really frustrating me. I use the shortcut keys or even using the edit menu and can not get it to work... I have tried repairing disk utilities....

When you are in one of the forums, near the top of the page it tells you the forum name. If you are on one of the pages that does not show the forum name (such as the page I'm on now doing this reply), there is a path such as "Apple.com > Support > Discussions > iWork '09 > Numbers '09" near the top of the page to let you know where you are.
I moved the file com.apple.finder.plist to the trash (because drag and click is also not working) and restarted. This didn't fix the problem...

After the most recent firefox update I can no longer copy and paste. the fuinction only works in Windows and I HATE usign it. Any suggestions on how to restore the copy and paste function while using Mozilla?

Thanks for you suggestion but it didn't work - are there other ways for solving this problem? Or is it because my files that I want to copy and paste onto my hard disk etc are too big? (However there is space on my hard disk and it works on a PC)

How do I get back my edit functions, copy and paste, without doing a restore?

When I switched to Firefox 4 I no longer have the file, edit, etc. functions anywhere. I can't or don't know how to copy and paste websites to emails for instance without the edit functions.

I have checked the toolbar buttons and have MENU ticked, I went to the customize toolbar thing and added (by drag and drop) the cut copy and paste and other buttons I cant find now, and they showed up at first, then they disappeared. The top section seems terribly narrow now and I cant find any way to add the buttons underneath where they used to be...help!
