Hi,
Could anyone let me know how we can draw up report for a company with functional areas using Report Painter/Report Writer?
Our client wants to draw Financial Statements on the basis of Functional Area.

    This is more a designing/reporting question than an ETL/ODI question ;).
    The advantage of the dimension is that you can select or aggregate data per month, year, weekends, quarters, day of week, ...
    If you only keep the date you will have to had all these complex formula's in logical columns or calculated items (assuming you use OBIEE). Performances will be impacted and code will be duplicated at many locations.

    First, thank you for submitting the crashes. And if you run into this again, on the about:support page you can click "submit crashes [[Firefox crashes - Troubleshoot, prevent and get help fixing crashes]] "
    Copying and pasting the crash reports with bp in front of them will allow troubleshooters in the thread to take a look. Or pasting the bp-xxxxx.... in this search [https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/home/products/Firefox] will show you the report. It may also show a bug in the bug section if it is currently being worked on.

    This is my first time where I am creating a union report, I have a urgent requirement to create a union report using 3 different reports and it has 3 common dimension columns and each report has 3 measures and a measure label, and 1st report measures has to show $ amounts with column names ,2nd report measures has to show % with column names and 3rd units with column names, the result should be in pivot with all columns and measures ,can someone please help me with steps to approach,I am really confusing with the results when i tried, I really appreciate your inputs.

    Addendum: I've tried it with CSV instead of XLS. Again, the repository appears to work just fine, but in Answers I get this message, similar to the Excel error:

    How can I see what database tables are used in all my online reports? I have around 1000 reports posted to Enterprise over 6 different datasources. If possible I would like to see the fields within those tables that are being used to.
    I am using Crystal Reports XI Release 2

    I don't think you can see the databases of the reports unless you download the report onto your pc as a Crystal Report format and then open it under Crystal Reports.
    This way it will open the report within Crystal Reports and will show you the datasource it is coming from.
    I doubt if you can see them online.

    Use Analysis Process Designer (RSANWB) to feed each of the survey BEX reports to one DSO.  Assuming each of the surveys has something in common to compare.  Could also be used as a snapshot storage for the surveys in case history needs to be compared/archived. 
    Build the Direct update DSO with the survey objects.  Add needed time characteristics and/or version control objects to the key. 
    Data sources  will be the 5 surveys. 
    Add formula to hardcode version/time for history.
    Data target is the direct update DSO.

  • Generate XML report using MAX Generate report.vi

    Hi All,
    Caught in simple and wierd problem. I'm using a simle VI called MAX Generate Reoprt.vi to generate an XML report but getting error
    Error code -2147220553
     Error description :Incorrect report file extension provided.
    The image of the block diagram is attached. I'm able to generate HTML reoport from MAX(absolutely no probs).

    You must have the correct file extention. Here's what is wirtten in the detailed help of the function:
    output filename specifies the filename of the generated report.
    You must have the correct extension for the type of report to generate (.xml, .htm, .html, or .zip).

  • Functions are not using default and will not validate without direct input

    Hi. I am recreating all of our mappings (from 9.0 to 11g). And I am finding that any function that does not have a direct input for every input variable (rather than using the defaults as defined in the function) no longer will validate in OWB. It states that the input parameter is required but is not connected.
    I have worked around this so far by adding Constants to pass the default values. I tried setting the default value in the property inspector window for each specific input parameter and this did not work, I still get the same error.
    Is there a way to fix this? i am not happy with having to add all these constants, and I don't see why it is not using the defaults that are defined in the functions themselves. Any help is appreciated.

    By the way for anyone who is curious....
    The reason that the functions and sp's weren't working correctly was because I had movedthem into the new DB wrapped. I don't know why it caused this but when I did dbms_metadata and replaced them all unwrapped, and then reimported them into OWB all the mappings compiled.

    I am new to BPC, In BPC 7.5 i seen like we can generate EPM report using EVDRE function very quickly and easy too. Is the same feature is existing in BPC 10.0 ? if no how can we create EPM reports using EPM Functions with Dynamic Filters on the Members of the dimension like in BPC 7.5.
    And i searched in SDN, there is no suitable blogs or documents which are related to generation of Reports using EPM Functions. All are described just in simple syntax way. It is not going to be understand for the beginners.
    Would you please specify in detail step by step.

    Siva,
    These functions are not used to create reports per se but rather assist in building reports. For ex, you want to make use of certain property to derive any of the dimension members in one of your axes, you will use EPMMemberProperty. Similary, if you want to override members in any axis, you will make use of EPMDimensionOverride.
    Also, EvDRE is not replacement of EPM functions. Rather, you simply create reports using report editor (drag and drop) and then make use of EPM functions to build your report. Forget EvDRE for now.
    You can protect your report to not allow users to have that Edit Report enabled for them.
    As Vadim rightly pointed out, start building some reports and then ask specific questions.

I added functional area field in the general data selection . After the execution of report with functional area field filled with value. report not giving any output. do i need to maintain any setting to achieve?

    1. Call GR22 and click "Characteristics".
    2. Check FKBER and assign a position number to it.
    3. Save and close the library.
    4. Call your report in GRR2 and you should now see FKBER as an available characteristic.
    5. Use it in the General Data Selection or as a Lead Column, as per requirement.
    Or,
    1. Call GR21 and create a custom library. Provide a name and description and also provide a library you can copy from (scan for the best-fit library).
    2. Now follow the steps 2 through 5 above to achieve your result.

  • China PL report RFIDCN_BSAIS does not capture fingures by Functional Area

    I am using program RFIDCN_BSAIS to run financial report for China.
    For PL report, the program is not able to generate the figures particulary on items where I assigned FUNCTIONAL AREAS to.
    China legal PL report presentation is Cost of Sales accounting like thus, program RFIDCN_BSAIS should be able to capture Functional Areas as well. Unfortunately, it does not work this way.
    Do you have simillar issues with Functional Area when running China PL report? Can you share how you overcome this issue?
    Btw, we are into ECC6, EHp5...All customizing related to Functional Area are done. FAGLFLEXT are populated with Functional Area.
