Functional document and technical document?

I would like to know clearly what is Functional document process and Technical document process in SAP implementation? As a technical lead how can we contact the functional team for this? What is the ideal time to write a technical document?

Let me explain u clearly
Setp1:
when there is any business req it is identified by the functional people
depending on the req they will create a document keeping business standards in mind
this is called as Functional Spec or Functional Document
Step2:
Once the Functional Spec is generated then it will be passed to the technical team
They understand the Functional Spec and change that into technical Document
they interact wiht the functional people and then make a Document called Technical Document.
Step3:
Once the Technical document is prepared then they start to build the object based on the technical document they build only when they get the approval from the functional people.
Business Requirement--->Functional Document->Technical Document--->Build Object.

Sample Functional document

Hi Guys,
I have been working on the technical side of BWw mostly datamodeling, dataloading and reporting. I want to know how to prepare a functional document, which is moslty done by analysts or architects, involving requirements gathering, gap analysis etc.
Can somebody please send me a sample functional document which includes requirements gathering, gap analysis for a sample project or a procedure describing how its done. It would be very helpful.

Design ,Technical & functional Documents

We are going to send PO(R/3) to our Supplier network thru XI and also we are going to receive the Invoices into our R/3 System.
For the Above scenario we need the following Documents
1)Design Documentation
2) Functional Documentation
3) Technical Documentation
I want to know what Information I need for the above classifications and also who will be incharge for the above like who will execute the Design Documentation, Who will write the Functional and Technical Documentation?
If there is any useful documents available?

Design Documentation tell us how the interfaces are going to work for the entire project. So usually Architects or Senior guys who have indepth experience of XI will usually write this.
Functional Documentation tell us the functioanlity of the interface. This is written by the Functional guys who have indepth knowledge about the functionality what they are looking from the interface. They may even take the help of technical guys to some extent.
Technical Documentation tells us how the interface is going to be worked technically. Here we will mention what are the adapters, naming conventions etc we are going to use for the interface. This is written by the XI developers. This are purely my views and this may change from person to person jenni.

Relation between partner function & document type

Hi,
Is there any customization setting for vendor partner role & FI document type?
When I use the partner role PI(invoice presented by), MIRO document created against the vendor defined against the partner role 'PI'. However when I defined a new partner role 'XA' - copying from the partner role PI- MIRO document not created vendor against partner role 'XA'.

Hi John,
The partner types allow us to distinguish between different business partners such as customer, vendor, employee etc and the partner functions represent the functionality or role each partner plays within the business transaction.
For example under the partner type Customer, you will find - Sold to party, Ship to party, Bill to party, Payer.
The business partners that exist in the market place are represented with a partner type in the R/3 system. Examples of business partners are customer, vendor, employee and contact person.
The following partner types are defined in the partner processing for the sales & distribution module
a.     AP contact person (06)
b.     KU customer (07)
c.     LI vendor (08)
d.     PE employee/personnel (09)
Assigning the partner functions in the SAP system determines the functions of particular partner in the sales process. One partner may take on several functions also.

Functional document of CRM-PCUI application

Hi,
    I have CRM installed in my system.But want to know more functional details of the
CRM_BSP_FRAME application->select.htm.
   Earlier i worked on a cproject(PLM) suite.I had
a clear documentation with screen on what each screen does functionally by SAP.
     Is there a similar document in CRM .
It would of great help for a beginner like me.

Sorry but I think this kind of documentation does not exist. However, the applications funcionality is the same (almost all) that in SAP GUI environment.

I had copied these .class & .xml files under Myclasses -> oracle.apps.icx and oracle.apps.po and oracle.apps.fnd was same which comes part of the standard OA tutorial.
I copied same under Myprojects as well.
you have to decompile the class file into java file and then place it in Myproject directory , also copy all dependency files like BC4J components , and then
try to run from Jdeveloper .
Alternatively you can get the entire ICX folder and zip it and add it via library .

Viewing functioning Document??

I hate to reveal my ignorance, but when that's all you got... I really like the way you can produce documents with bookmarks and such but is there a way to save only the functioning finished version of the document. For example, if I create a document to use for studying with bookmarks and such, I don't want it behaving as a normal pages document when I open it for study use. I don't want to edit it, just use it. As it is, I create the most magnificent documents but when I click, I get the document, click again and I get a text box, click again.. All I want to do is click on the hyperlink and jump to the bookmark. It would be nice as well if there were, and there probably is, a way to jump back to the original place from which I clicked the hyperlink. I will immediately send the very best wishes to anyone who can help me with this...

I tried this just now, downloading a text file from Gutenberg, then adding several bookmarks and creating hyperlinks to jump to those bookmarks. (This is my initial attempt at this.)
I saved, then closed the document, then re-opened it. The hyperlinks were active, and the ones I clicked on took me directly to the bookmark (chapter heading) to which I had connected them.
I then added the word "Contents" above the list of hyperlinks, selected it and made it a bookmark, then placed a hyperlink at the end of each of the chapters, connected to this bookmark.
While doing this, I did notice some of the behaviours you described. A few of the links (all ones that I hadn't checked above) had lost, or never had established the connection to their bookmarks. Possibly a bug. Possibly an error on my part in setting the connection.
I reset all of the links, then checked by hovering the mouse over each until it showed the target's name.
Saved again. Quit Pages. Relaunched Pages and reopened the file.
All but one of the hyperlinks showed the correct target and took me directly to the bookmark. The one that did not showed the "http://i/" beginning of a URL, and when clicked, opened a browser, which returned a "cannot find" message.
I edited the errant link and again Saved, Quit, Relaunched and reopened the file.
This time all was well.
To this point, I think the errors were due to my inexperience with creating bookmarks and hyperlinks than to a bug in the application. The process seems to be less forgiving than I'd like, but does appear to work.
I've saved the document, but will take another look at it in the morning, and report any changes at that time.

Strange behavior function Document.exportFile()

My script uses the exportFile to get files PDF. Usually this is a fairly lengthy process.
When you run the script sometimes disappear from the exported files attached pictures PDF. If at the time of export of the user presses any key on the keyboard is a strange case. From this point on the attached PDF-images disappear from the resulting exported PDF. The same thing occurs during the print to PostScript file.

I use a very old script. Age of CS. It has been used for a long time and worked flawlessly. In versions of CS4+ began a strange error associated with typing on the keyboard while exports.
Here is a small script written to demonstrate this. He demands to him in the same folder was "PDF link.pdf". This file must be bigger than 1 MB.

How to provide document attachment (DMS) functionality in MIGO transaction

Dear All,
How can I provide the document attachment functionality (Document will be stored in content DMS server)
in MIGO Transaction.
The same functionality provided by SAP in ME21n, ME22n Transactions.
In ME21n user can upload any type of document related to line item wise and that document can we view/ modify from ME22n as well as from DMS side ( T.code - CV02n).
can anybody help me that how can i provide same functionality in MIGO transaction.
