Could someone tell me few differences(like development time, extra functionality, Adm & maintenance, user convenience etc..) between Oracle Financials Package and a Finance app. developed using Oracle Forms. And I would like to know how easy is Oracle Financials Package to learn if we know Oracle Forms , Reports, SQL and PL/SQL thouroughly.
    Thanks in Advance,

Yes, the lack of compatibility with Rosetta is what's kept me at 10.6.8.  I used to save everything in AOL for Mac OS X, both emails and things I'd written, until AOL came out with a completely different application and I realized that eventually I wouldn't be able to run the old AOL.  Before my last upgrade, from 10.5 to 10.6, I thought I was going to lose the old AOL, so I did convert a bunch of files to Word or pdf or both, and more recently I've converted some others, but I have something like 15 years worth of correspondence and other items, so it would be difficult to convert them all.
    Thanks for the articles.
Thanks for the backup reminder.  My external hard drive died earlier this week, and so I bought two new ones specifically so that I could backup before upgrading (and so I'd have a backup backup and never be without at least one backup again ).

  • HR schema and rule function overview

Hello, is there any HR schema and rule function overview there ? I mean for example function VARST, ADDDB, HRS, PCY etc., which are under PE01 and PE02 available to use.
    Thanks.

Schemas can be viewed and modified through pe01.  Schemas use functions and Personnel Calculation Rules (PCR).
PCRs can be viewed and modified through pe02.  Time Evaluation PCRs use operations such as HRS, VARST, ADDDB and OUTWP.  Payroll Calculation PCRs use operations such as RTE, NUM, AMT, VARGB, ADDWT and OUTWP.
Functions and Operations can be viewed through pe04, along with their parameters.
Documentation on Functions and Operations can be viewed either in the schema or rule by selecting the object + F1 (or the ? icon), or through pe04.

  • Portal Navi Structure: Business Function Cnetric or SAP Module Centric?

    Dear all,
When designing your portal navigation, which layout would you prefer?
    1. Business Function Centric
top level has tabs representing different business departments (HR, Finance, Sales, etc.)
    2. SAP Module Centric
top level has tabs representing different SAP modules (HR, MM, SD, BW, etc.)
We know that either design has its pros and cons. Really would like to know which way most you go?
    Many thanks and best regards,

You raised in deed a very good question. For people new to SAP products it is not always clear what belongs to what since a lot of stuff is part of SAP ERP (deployed as a SAP ECC system).
To answer most of your questions:
Most of the things above are in deed part of ECC. ESS/MSS is part of ERP HCM and therefore ECC. But many companies dont deploy HCM with the rest of ECC, but put HCM in a seperate installation/deployment - so two deployments of ECC.
SolMan is not part of ECC. It comes as an own system which need to be deployed seperately from ECC. SolMan helps IT departments with ITIL processes, technical monitoring, etc.
TM is based on SCM, I am not sure if it can run with other SCM modules.
BW as well as BO are seperate and used for data warehouse and reporting toolsets.
PI is SAP's Enterprise Service Bus and also used for SOA.
CRM is for Sales and Marketing processes - a seperate deployment deeply integrated with ECC.
For Strategy management and BPC I am not 100% sure.
    Hope that helps!
    Wolfgang

  • How to call function from a custom module in a grid?

I have a module with an advanced data grid in it. One of the columns of this grid has an itemRenderer="myCustom"
MyCustom is a separate MXML Module. In this module, I have defined a vBox with 2 buttons. In the click event of the button how can I call a custom function that is defined in the parent module? click="myCustomFuction()" doesn't work and I get an 1180 warning . I'm thinking something like click="this.parent.myCustomFunction()" but I don't know the proper syntax.

I tried your suggestion, but it's not working. Can you figure out what I'm doing wrong?
    <mx:Button name="bLotView" label="View" click="Object(this.owner).MyCustomFunction()"
This button is contained in a VBox which is contained in it's own module: MyVBox
In the "parent" MyGrid module I have an AdvancedDataGrid and one of the columns of this grid uses ItemRender="MyVBox"
If I place a button in the parent MyGrid module (not in the grid), and set it's click to MyCustomFunction() then the function fires. But the function never fires from the MyVBox module's button click which is contained in the grid.
Does Object(this.owner) refer to the owning module or the owning control? If it refers to the owning control, wouldn't this point to the VBox in the same module, not the owning module? Would I have to do something like Object(this.owner.owner.owner).MyCustomFunction()  ??

  • Query in an Access database executing a function defined in a module

    Hi all,
I have an Access 2003 database in which some function is defined in a module.
I also have a query defined which calls this function with no problem.
Both the query and the function work well when the query is executed from Access.
But when I try to execute the same query from ColdFusion, I get an error claiming that the function is not defined.
    Any Idea ?

I believe that UDFs in Access can only be run inside of the Access runtime environment, and cannot be called through the JDBC/ODBC bridge that ColdFusion is using.
