Functions in SOLMAN

Hi experts,
my customer has solman 7.1 EHP1 installed. Which functions are free of charge ?
Can't find good documentation in the jungle. Please help to find docs.
Kind regards
W

Hello Wolfgang,
Solution Manager is free of charge, so your question needs to be more specific.
All functions in Solution Manager are included.
Typically you will also get a license for CA Wily Introscope as this is integrated into Solution Manager Diagnostics.
There may be charges for 3rd party products that integrate with Solution Manager, but Solution Manager itself, and all its self contained functionality is offered to SAP customers at NO CHARGE.
Hope this answers your question generally. If you have a specific requirement, please state.
Thank you.

Paul

  • Partner functions WebUI Solman

    Hi experts,
I'm using Solman 7.1 in Incident Management and I've got a strange problem in using partner functions.
I used SLFN0002 and created a copy of it ZLFN0002. Then I added both in the WebGUI under "details". And here is my problem:
when I fill the field SLFN0002 the business partner appears in both fields. But in bock "business partner" only SLFN0002 is filled.
when I then delete the field (under details) ZLFN0002. SLFN0002 is deleted too.
when I fill field ZLFN0002 the business partner doesn't appear in the field (but under business partner block)
It seems like an linking error. But I don't know where to find this.
Does somebody has an idea how to solve that issue?
    Best regards,
    Christina

    Hi,
I checked the recommended note --> didn't solve the problem.
I read the block - for me everything seems to be ok.
    Here are some screenshots
    the partner function:
under specify partner function display in transaction:
I used these numbers in the WebUI.
Any idea how to fix this issue. (Other partner functions work fine)
    Thanks a lot.

  • Basic Introscope functions in SolMan vs full blown Introscope  functions

Does anyone have - or can lead me to -  a table or matrix that shows the Wiley Introscope functionality that is provided in Solution Manager (7.x) vs the full blown functionality of Wiley Introscope that can be purchased from CA?
I want to map what gaps exist between the functionality of the two and be able to determine what additional costs are involved in purchasing full blown Wiley Introscope?  To my understanding, SolMan provides a base Introscope functionality.

    Hello,
Everything you need to know to configure Wily Introscope in Solman is located in the media library at
    http://service.sap.com/diagnostics.
You really should be reviewing this documentation before you started, however it should guide you to complete the installation properly.

  • No users are shown for Service Desk functionality in SOLMAN  4.0

    Hello!
I would like to set up the business partners for Service Desk in SAP Solution Manager.
If I choose the solution and execute "Edit --> Create Business partner" for the SAP R/3 4.7 then I get the warning “no users are shown under the system”.
For the SAP SRM 5.0 I get only one user (SOLMAN<SID><CLNT>), meanwhile I set the data selection to blank.
I also copied the user account of  SOLMAN<SID><CLNT> to the user test with no success.
I have assigned the Object S_RFC_ and S_USER_GRP.
The users have also the profile SAP_ALL.
How can this problem be solved?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Thank you very much!
    The problem is solved!
Im my case was necessary to apply SAP Note 1055630.
I have assigned the role "SAP_SM_S_USER_GRP" to the user with RFC_READ connection, refreshed the last alert in DSWP and tha is.

  • No users are shown for Service Desk  functionality in SOLMAN

    Hello!
I would like to set up the business partners for Service Desk in SAP Solution Manager.
If I choose the solution and execute "Edit --> Create Business partner"
no users are shown under the system.
Especially for the SAP R/3 4.7 system it is the case.
If I change the data selection for an earlier time or leave blank, the situation does not change, meanwhile I have enough users in the satellitesystems.
<b>How can this problem be solved? </b>
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hi,
    Answering your question!
Ans. 1. Either user should have SAP_ALL + S_RFC.. it is very important to have S_RFC object. SAP excluded S_RFC from SAP_ALL for the security reason.
or , any user should have authority to create and delete users + S_RFC, S_RFCACL & S_T-CODE.. I just did my setup, so I remember after searching for long long....
    Ans. 2. you need the following RFC's for sattelite system;
    >>> SM_<SID>CLNT(CLIENT#)_READ
    >>> SM_<SID>CLNT(CLIENT#)_TRUSTED
    >>> SM_<SID>CLNT(CLIENT#)_TMW
you should see them in solman sm59.... make sure you use proper user with proper OBJECT. other wise, u'll see bunch of dumps every hour.. Let me know if you need any other help!!
    Thanks,
I hope this will fix your problem

  • ChaRM functionality in SOLMAN

    Hello ChaRM-experts!
I have the following questions regarding ChaRM-Setup:
    1) Do I always need to define a Maintenance Project or can I use tcode u201CSCMAu201D to use transport management/ChaRM for satellite systems in SOLMAN
    2) Is it possible to use transport management between several logical components?
    3) Which transport routes from satellite systems will be supported within ChaRM of SOLMAN? We have a lot of own transport routes.
    4) Are there some escalation mechanisms, e.g. when the urgent correction will be not executed within 1 week?
    Thank you very much!
    Thom

Haven't tested this scenario but you are able to assign more than one logical component to a SMI project.
All the systems will be listed in your task list.
But the point is: even if one system - lets say a QA or project system - is not included in the SMI project via a logical component and thus not available in the task list released transport request from a DEV system will be delivered to that system nevertheless (in case the package/transport layer contained in the request is configured in your CTS to deliver the QA/project system).
So you may use several logical components, release your transport via action in task list. All via CTS connected systems will be delivered in background. You may import your transport requests in follow-up systems via action in the task list or via aut. import job. For the production you may want to have the system listed in the task list (and therefore part of a logical component assigned to your project) because you usually do not use aut. import jobs for that kind of system and need use the action to import transports.
    Hope this helps.

  • OBJECTS_NOT_CHARLIKE error by establishing BPM functionality in SOLMAN

    Hello!
I am about to activate Business Process Monitoring functionality in SAP Solution Manager. The error is a dump:
    OBJECTS_NOT_CHARLIKE
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLDSWP_BPM_FUNC" had to be terminated because it has come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    Error analysis
At the statement "REPLACE" only character-type data objects are supported at the argument position "MSGV3".
In this particular case, the operand "MSGV3" has the non-charcter-type type
    "I".
Can some one help me with this issue?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

This is 5-year old. You should open a new thread (you can always refer to this post). When you find a solution please make sure it is in the post so that someone 5 years from now will not have to re-open your thread.

  • Compare & adjust functionality in Solman

    Hi Gurus
I am planning to create a implementation project with reference to a template project. You can say during the project some process or step included in the implementation project in the BPH. Now at the end of the project I would like to compare and adjust the BPH between these 2 projects, how it can be done in the Solman? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I would suggest to create a customer message. This matter is very complicated and I would like to check this in your system. Every tab works slightly differently concerning documents.

  • Sold-To Party determination using Reported-By partner function in SolMan 4

    Hi,
I'm trying to populate the Sold-To party field via Reported-By partner function in Solution Manager 4.0.
That means in the Organizational model the Sold-To-Party is a Organization Business Partner, and the person who create the Support Message or Service Order is a person (Person BP) who works for the Sold to Party Org. Unit, then I request that when a Support Message is reported by a person that belong to The Org, Model, the system fulfill Sold-To-Party automatically.
    Example:
Org. Unit: 10000 (BP Organzation) <----
    Sold to Party
    Employee: 10001 (BP: Person) <----
    Reported by
Any hints how I could acheive this?
    Will award points.

    Hi,
Just to clrify few things.... In terms of Solution Manager, the sold to party gets populated from the BP that is assigned to the Install Base Component. It is not required to have the BP maintained as a Sold-To to populate the Sold-To party field.
I know that is confusing. But that is how it works. So in very general terms I'm looking a way to bypass the BP assignment to Install base and get the BP number of the Org unit that the user(employee) is been assigned to populate the Sold-To party field. Pls note that the Org Units are not maintained as Sold To parties.
    Thanks

    Dear Anil
We have a standard functionality of solman with which we can access solman documents
For e.g goto properties of doc in solar01 or 02 then click Generate URL
this will generate a URL and copy to clipboard and then press control+v to paste in explorer the doc can be accessed from anywhere with authentication
Note you need to have activate SICF solmandocument service for this.
    Hope it solves ur prob.

  • I need to install the SOLMAN, in my landscape or another server ??

    Hi experts,
My landscape is the typical landscape; Production Server, Test Server and development Server.
I need to install the SAP Solution Manager; This installation would have to do it in some of my existing servers (Production, Test or Development) or it would have to do it in another one?
    Thank's
    Douglas V.

    Hi Douglas,
Before deciding where to install Solman also take into account below checks -
1] Incase you will be using Solman diagnostics+Wily introscope functionality of solman, I would certainly recommend to install solman on a separate host as these tools hog lot of memory resources.
2] For basic use of solman - EWA, install keys generation, ccms...you can think of installing on existing box - but still it should be strong in configuration. As SAP is adding lots of features in EHP packs and sooner or later you will need to use those.
My 2 cents. (rewards points if useful)
    Thanks

    Responses:
    1) If you are a new customer and want to install CRM you must have access to a Solution Manager system to generate the installation keys. You also need Solution Manager to download patches.
    2) You save the file in the Knowledge Warehouse functions of the system, you can also save a link if you want to host the file on for example a sharepoint server. Your choice
    3) Dont understand which guide you mean. But SOlman cannot be used as a CRM system. (technically yes you can, but you then have to license it as a CRM-system).
    4) Solution Manager is based on CRM and it might look like there is a CRM-system. IT is also possible to use target system navigation so you can start the transaction in the CRM-system (not the CRM-functions in Solman).
    Finally.
    See the systems as separated.
If you need CRM-functions, Install a separate CRM-system and let it have its own lifecycle.
Install and use Solution Manager for Application Lifecycle Management!

  • BPM in SolMan

    Hello,
We currently have completed implementation using SolMan and gone-live. From the operational side of things we have set up EWA and Maintenance Optimizer in our SolMan. We are planning to implement Business Process Monitoring (BPM) functionality. Please provide inputs as to,
    - Can we use the business processes modelled during our implementation phase. Or have the business processes specifially be re-created for BPM functionality
    - Since we have not configured Service desk feauture - can we still implement BPM
-How does BPM relate to the central monitoring functionality in SolMan
    Thanks in advance
    Mani

    Hello Mani,
yes you can re-use your processes from the implementation part but you have to perform one intermediate step.
Within the Solution Directory you have to copy the process from the project to the Operations solution. Only then you can select this business process in the Business Process Monitoring.
More information on Business Process Monitoring and how to set it up canb e found under https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library

  • E2E Change Analysis Function

    Hi All,
Is E2E Change Analysis functionality of SolMan 7.1 able to track changes made in configuration object of Solar02-config tab? How do I know who has changed what configuration object and what changes has been done?
    Any response is helpful!
    Thanks,
    Shaun

    Hi Shaun,
Do you know transaction solar_eval? It is used to report many data from the project/solutions/test workbench area. It currently has no option to report the history of changes of the objects, but when the SP05 for solman 7.1 comes out, it'll enhance this functionality adding the option to report the history of changes of the tabs or the history of changes of the documents.
    kind regards, Fabricius
