  • Charts Without Legend - Still Allocates "Space" for the Legend.

    Hello,
I created a charted and am able to disable the legend through chart.setLegendVisible(false); However, when I put my chart into the stage, there is this "blank" area beneath the chart where the legend would normally go.
    I tried:
chart.setPrefHeight(###} but all that does it make the graph area of my chart squished and doesn't remove that blank area.
Is there a way to get ride of this space that the chart allocates for the legend?
    Thanks.

If you delete photos from your iPad, they will also be deleted from iCloud and you'll lose them.  Also, having additional iCloud space won't give you any more space on your device.   You can't move any data to iCloud and delete it from your device.  All you iCloud data is also on you device, and if you delete it from your device, it is also deleted from iCloud.
One option to free up space for the update is to delete the music from your iPad, then sync it back using iTunes after you update.   (You can delete it all by going to Settings>General>Usage, wait for the apps list to open, then tap Music>Edit, then tap next to All Music.)
Also, if you purchsed the iCloud storage upgrade in the last 15 days thinking you chould use it to free up space on your iPad, you can call the Apple online store for your country and get a refund (1-800-MY-APPLE in the U.S. and Canada.)

  • Coloring the legend

I have a scatter chart where I have replaced the symbol dynamically with a circle of varying opacity and size. Each series is assigned a color from a custom color wheel I have created.
The chart looks great, however, the legend is still using the default color wheel and does not match the relevant series data.
The node returned from chart.getLegend() does not seem to have the hooks which will allow me to impose my color wheel.
So does anyone know how I can do this? Or a pragmatic workaround would be to match my color wheel with the javafx default. Either approach works for me.
    Thanks,
    - Pat

Turns out that it was ridiculously easy to create an attractive custom legend without resorting to remapping legend item properties and such. Since I was creating a motion chart, this custom legend is better since I can show overlapping circles with diminishing opacity with a labels which indicate the meanings of these opaciities.
I had seen those links, ran dump and found nothing. It turns out that problem was due to the fact that I hadn't populated the chart with data yet and that there was no legend. Two lines out of sequence and amazingly invisible to my hours of staring, prodding and poking the code.
Thank you kindly for your response. This forum is proving effective.

  • How can I change the legend of a plot in an excel chart using LabView?

    Hi,
    My question is:
I create a chart in Excel with LabView7 using ActiveX. There are 4 plots in one chart. How can I rename the legend (the name) of each plot with LabView?
    Thanks.

Use the SeriesCollection(1).Name function. In LV, wire up the following:
_Chart into Method SeriesCollection (index = 1 to 4)
Cascade into Variant to Data (wire type Excel.Series)
Wire Series into Property Name, Write the string

  • Is there a way to display the legend for a chart, but not the chart?

    Hi,
I have a stacked column chart and a line chart on top of each other.   I can't use the legend for the stacked column chart because the data will change from month to month, and the 2 charts will not be aligned.  I copied the stacked column chart to another part of the canvas and want to display only the legend, but the chart is still displaying.  Is there a way to prevent the chart from displaying?    Thanks.

    hi Jim Wojewnik,
we can show only the legend in a pie chart by dragging the edges to closer.do the following,

Accordion or Tabbed panel should to it, with click and open container.
Please provide site url where this does not work, also if you can provide an example where we can see the exact action then it would help us.

  • Editing Chart legends: How to change the line structure within the legend?

    Hi,
I have one problem: I have several charts in Numbers and since I need to print them in black/white, colors cannot be used to differentiate between the lines. So if I have a dotted line and a solid line, the legend only shows me solid lines as line symbols, so the line structure is not reflected within the legend. Can I change that?

_This question was already asked and responded._
Put a text box with the true kind of line above the one displayed automatically.

  • Title for the Legend in jfree charts

    Hi,
I want to give the Legend a Header i.e a block above the legend stating the name of the Legend. I am unable to find a method that would help me with this.M using jfree1.0.2
(a small example could be helpful)

    Hi Manish,
    Can try like this:
Standard Field >> Do F1, Take the Data Element.
Go to CMOD, on that screen Click Goto >> Text enhancements>> Keywords >> Change.
Type the Data Element name noted earlier. Press Enter.
A screen with several fields will be displayed. They contain the various descriptions for the data element selected. Depending on what screen/layout this data element is used the system will use one of the short, medium or long description fields.
The Heading field, as its name suggests, will be used in the list header row of a layout. The Short Description field will be used when you select the function key F1 (help) on that field.
The length of each field is :
    - Short field label: 10 characters
    - Medium field label: 20 characters
    - Long field label: 40 characters
    - Heading: 55 characters
    - Short Description: 60 characters
Replace the texts with those that you want to appear. Save your changes (This will be a Customising Request). Note that this is a cross client change.
Please note that F1 Help will still display the standard help, with only the First Line changed as per your corrections (Custom Field Name).

Well, the only way to edit that is to select the Legend entry (In Preview Mode Only) > Right-click > Edit Axis Label.
You would need to do this for every Legend entry.

  • Can you edit the legend of a pie chart?

    Hi,
    Here we are again...
We use a BI query to get a list of activities and their status. I want to display this in a pie chart. So for example:
We get a list of 20 activities and there are 15 activities with status "A" and 5 with status "B". I can perfectly display this within the pie chart. (We get a pie chart which is 75% blue and 25% red).
My question: How can I edit the legend so that it doesn't say [blue] = "A" and [red] = "B", but for example [blue] = "Open" and [red] = "Completed".
Is this possible at all with VC 7.0? Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Jan Laros

    Hi Fabien,
That could be a solution, but it is kind of dirty...
I find it very odd that there is not a standard way of editing the legend labels.

  • How do I flip the view of the legend bar so it is vertical instead of horizontal? I want the legend bar vertically positioned in my column chart.

I clicked the show legend button and edited it according to my data but it placed it horizontally. I need it vertical and there does not seem to be a function to flip the view. Does anybody know how to switch the view of the legend bar?

Use the handle at the left or right to the Legend box to reduce the width of the box. The strung-out list will change to columns, and eventually to a single column.
