Further Processing Type In Process Chain

After adding the execute infopackage to process chain automatically DTP, Activate DSO and Furter Processing Variants come by with it .
Now, the data has to go to cube so Delete index etc will be added further, but do I need to have this further processing type or can I just delete it.
Whats it significance?

If you have given some job name in the infopackage schedule(background) statistically to track your job,then after completion of this job system doesn't know which process has to be run..so to connect between the next process we need to take this(further processing type) and give the name of the above job name in this process..
If you don't give the background job name statically..system creates a job with some name and it knows to identify the next process..

Can any one help me in listing down the sequence of process types we must have when we are using process chains. Like If I am loading data from R/3 to ODS and to cube then what all things should be included (creating indexex, deleting indexes..)and most importantly what sequence they should be in. ?
Also what are the types you need to include in master data load process chain, where does the change run fit in the process chain.?

The steps would be as follows:
1. Start Process
2. Load any master data - attributes.
3. Change run .
4. Text load.
5. Load the ODS.
6. Activation of ODS data.
7. Delete indexes of Cube.
8. Further processingof ODS data to Cube.
9. Create indexes.
10. Refresh Statistics.
The delete index can be after the "further processing step" also.

Own process type in process chain

I have a meta process chain with three local process chains in it.
In the second local process chain i have an infopackage which only must be executed under special conditions. To validate those conditions i've made my own process type with possible events 'process ends succesful or incorrect'. If the process type returns 'incorrect' the infopackage will not be executed and the process chain continues with the next step. If the process type returns 'succesful' the IP will be executed.
So far so good.
During testing i found out that when the process type returns 'incorrect' all further actions within the process chain are executed as wanted but the local process chain gets status red in the meta chain. The third local process chain is not executed because it may only start when the second chain is succesful.
Questions:
Can i make my own possible events in a process type (green and yellow for instance)
Is there perhaps another way to solve this ?

I read that document but it doesn't give me the solution !
I know how to make my own process type but i want other events to end the process type. Now i can only choose 'succesful' or 'incorrect'; i would like to have the value 'warning' (or something simular) too. Than the process chain doesn't get the status 'red' in the monitor and all follow-up processes will continue !

Process Chain problem related to Update ODS Object Data (Further Update)

In the process chain, the data is loaded to an ODS first then feed to an InfoCube by kind of data mart load. But when checking the process chain, getting yellow warning msg:
A type "Update ODS Object Data (Further Update)" process has to follow process "Activate ODS Object Data" var.our_infopackage_name in the chain
Message no. RSMPC016
If we add the variant "Update ODS Object Data (Further Update) after the activation of the ODS and before the InfoPackage to feed data to the cube, then another yellow warning shows up for the InfoPackage of loading data to the InfoCube that says the Update variant can not be before the loading to this Cube and etc.
What should we do to have the problem resolved?

1) Invalid characters while loading: When you are loading data then you may get some special characters like @#$%...e.t.c.then BW will throw an error like Invalid characters then you need to go through this RSKC transaction and enter all the Invalid chars and execute. It will store this data in RSALLOWEDCHAR table. Then reload the data. You won't get any error because now these are eligible chars done by RSKC.
2) IDOC Or TRFC Error: We can see the following error at u201CStatusu201D Screen:Sending packages from OLTP to BW lead to errorsDiagnosisNo IDocs could be sent to the SAP BW using RFC.System responseThere are IDocs in the source system ALE outbox that did not arrive in the ALE inbox of the SAP BW.Further analysis:Check the TRFC log.You can get to this log using the wizard or the menu path "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system".Removing errors:If the TRFC is incorrect, check whether the source system is completely connected to the SAP BW. Check especially the authorizations of the background user in the source system.Action to be taken:If Source System connection is OK Reload the Data.

Process Chain - Further Processing

Hi all,
Im facing with the following doubt in Process Chain:
I have an ODS that then update the information in other ODS:
1.Load Data (this IP load the data in the First ODS)
2.Activate Data (activate Data in the first ODS)
3.Further Processing
Here is my doubt, as far as i know the "Further Processing" update the data in the data Target, buy my question is :
Do i have to configure something in order to update the data in the other ODS ? or this steps is automatic ?
Because if i click in "Mantain Variant" (in further processing) appears a screen that shows:
Object type: ODS Object
OBject Name: OR_DSF01 (this is the first ODS, not the target ODS)
Do i have to configure something here?

I think that's better to add an other step in chain loading the 2nd ODS....
... but if you need absolutely to automate:
on th 1st ODS ->modify->settings->chek "Update data targets from ODS object automatically" .
I don't know if the chain inhibits this setting and you're obliged to add a step to the chain for further load.

How to stop further processing of process chains

I have process chains running for quite sometime. At the last step i am loading to a ods. i want to stop the last step for some time. I know we do that by placing a red arrow to stop the further processing...but i dont know how to do it ? where from should i get the red arrow ... ? I looked in process types i couldnt find any connectors
plz give me step by step navigation..

I tried doing the remove link, but when i am trying to activate the chain it is giving me a error saying no predecessor exists...which is true...
my scenario briefly is,
The process chain is scheduled for tonight. In one of the last steps is loading data in my ods, i want the process chain to go as scheduled ..but it should not execute the load to the ods...how can i achieve that...? plz help me...

Cannot update data from DSO to Cube with further update in process chain

Hi Guys,
              This is the message am getting when am trying to update to cube by process further update with process chain.Process fails at further update with the following below message.
However at DSO level i can see the data mart status but no request at cube level.
Error Message:
Cannot update request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR in data target
    Message no. RSM1523
Diagnosis
    System checks show that request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR cannot be
    updated to a data target.
    The system checked whether
    o   request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR is already in the data target
    o   the data target has active update rules for the InfoSource
    o   the data target was selected for updating
    o   locks exist
    o   for a DataStore object as a data target, that the request was
        updated in the correct order, if the DataStore object stipulates
When i check the monitor screen under status tab it says "A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage" and under details tab "Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Data packet not yet processed "

It seems you used infopack when you select update data inot datatarget then system prompts you a infopack.That's the infopack which is generated by system being used in process chain variant to update data into datatarget.
Create new infopack/ DTP manually then use that infoapck/DTP on the process chain variant then try.

Error "Object 'DM' (APCO) of type 'Application' is not available in version 'A'" while transporting process chain to production system.

Hi Gurus,
Whenever I try to transport a process chain ZFI_0FIGL_C10 from dev. to qua. & prod. the error “Object 'DM' (APCO) of type 'Application' is not available in version 'A'” is displayed in the end of creating transport package.
The process chain was created to load data to 0figl_c10 and it works all right on all systems (dev. qua. prod.).
The process chain contains processes for:
- starting the process chain
- executing infopackage (for loading data to 0figl_o10),
- ACR (activate data in 0figl_o10)
- delete index 0figl_c10
- DTP loading data from 0figl_o14 to 0figl_c10
- executing infopackage 80FIGL_O10
- creating index in 0figl_c10
- building DB statistics
- rolling up aggregates in 0figl_c10
- deleting of requests from the changelog 0figl_o10
- deleting of requests from PSA (0fi_gl_10)
How to find what cause that error.

A SAP consultant told me to ignore that error.
Indeed, after creating transport with some new process chains (again I was informed about that error "APCO ...") and transporting it to production everything works all right.
The problem is described in sap note: 883745.

Email Alert for Process Chain for ABAP Process Type

Hi BW Experts,
                         I created a process chain based on ABAP Process Type ( for Broadcasting rsrd_broadcast_starter). I want to add alert message for each ABAP process if it is failed. But I cant see any option showing Successfull or Error or Always when I select create message option on the process type. How ever I can see for other process chain which is loading data (Process Type is Info Package ) from SAP into BW.
                         Please some one tell me why it is not showing alert message for ABAP Process Type.

I dont have the exact answer for your question, But as a work around i can suggest you that.
If these ABAP programs are included in a chain and this local chain is a part of meta chain then you can create a message on the local chain.By right clicking on the local chain >Create Message>Success

What is the difference between Process Type TRIGGER AND CHAIN

What is the difference between these two process types. When I am looking process types, I want to provide information only about process chains and not individual steps of process chain. Looks like one can do using either.
Along the same line, I am looking at data from RSPCPROCESSLOG, no where this table has a column process chain id. So How od I find information about a process chain.

A "Chain Process" can be a a step in a Process Chain as well. For Example: So you could have the following Process Chain:
Process Chain Example
Step 1. TRIGGER (Execute Daily at 4am)
Step 2. DTP_LOAD Execute DSO Load
Step 3. DTP_LOAD Execute InfoCube Load
Step 4. CHAIN Execute Master Data Process Chain
I believe the "Master Chain" is called a "MetaChain" since it controls the start of another Process Chain.

Process Type ABAP does not work properly via process chain

Dear SDNers
I am running a process chain and it contains process type ABAP program. ABAP program was running correctly till now via this process chain. ABAP program process type generally takes approximately 2 hours to run. But now, this process type for ABAP program just run for less than 1 minute and finishes successfully. The issue is that ABAP program does not run at all.
I ran the ABAP program in background and it took approximately 2 hours to run. ABAP Program is local means in our BW system and does not involve Remote Function call. We have BI7.0 system
Has some one came across this type of issue?

Has the aleremote user or which ever user you have defined for background scheduling changed permissions recently?
What happens if you create an adhoc chain and include this ABAP variant, does it run then?
What does the log say in SM37 when run via process chain?

How to go further in Process chain

Hi Gurus,
while running process chain some error occured and i solved that by modifying the record from PSA..
Then Instead of Going for repeat for next process mistakenly I double clicked on that and run the infopackage, it runs successfully but it showing still running condition in process chian...Can any one tell me how to go further...

Hi sidharta,
do you have the option to repeat a step in your chain?
If not then you must finish the chain manually. you can try to end that process by right mouse-click. Maybe then you can repeat the next step. If it was a delta upload be sure that it is green in the monitor otherwise you get some problems at the next load.

As process chain is to automate the data load step.
For Ex:- If you are loading data from R/3 to DSO CUBE.
Here you require Info package to load till PSA.
DTP to load till DSO
Another DTP to load Cube.
And all other process like psa deletion AND process you can find in RSPC tab.
