If you first select the calendar on the left, so that its background is highlighted blue/grey, when you make a new events they should be added to that calendar.

How can I combine multiple icloud calendars into a single published calendar?

I have several calendars in Ical where I map my activities and schedules. Like many I need several calendars to categorise events.
Now, I'd like others to see when I'm free and when I'm unavailable. For this, I'd need to find a way to copy multiple Icloud calendars into a single one for publishing - and the published calendar would also have to sync to any update I make in the original calendar.
Any way to make this happen? Any third party app? Tried a couple - they were outdated and / or cumbersome.

It worked - up to the crucial point: after combining icloud calendars into one "on the machine" calendar, the latter is ready for going public. But of course - this public calendar will only contain the .ics files and will not sync for updates from the icloud calendars.
And that's what I want.
If this problem is not possible to solve with the software available in the Mac - is there any known third party solution for this?
(Apple: "smart calendars" please!)

I've been using iCal for a very long time, upgraded to iCloud, when it was fully operational. In addition to my personal calendar, I have used several different calendars for different kinds of business activities. However, I am not at a point, where tracking different business related activites is no longer necessary. So, I would like to know how to combine all the unnecessary calendars into a single business calendar. I want to be able to transfer my entire calendar history from all the calendars to a single calendar.

For each calendar, from the File menu choose 'Export...' then 'Export...'; from the sub-menu. This will create an .ics file at the location chosen in the Export dialog.
From the File menu choose 'Import...' then 'Import...' from the sub-menu. A navigation pane will open: navigate to and choose your exported .ics file.
You will get a pane with a drop-down menu - choose the calendar you want to add this data to.
Be aware that this procedure can't be undone.

Your old account is the one you migrated, but it has been renamed because the new account had the same name. "Fixing" this is a bit complicated. It is possible to transfer data from one account to the other. See Transferring files from one User Account to another.
A cleaner solution is to do this:
Create a temporary new admin user account with a completely different username.
Log into this new account.
Delete the new account you created before migrating.
Delete the old account you migrated that has the changed name.
Re-migrate your old account from the Mini.
Log into the newly migrated account and delete the temporary account.
And, the simplest solution is to use the migrated account as-is and delete the account you originally made on the new computer.

How to import calendar into iCal?

I am trying to import a calendar into iCal. Here is my AppleScript:

I have specified a full path for theFile in the actual script. Here is what happens when I run it:
The iCal icon starts jumping and the script just stays running. If I hunt around I can find the "Add events" window and it is just sitting there waiting for interaction. If I click the pop up button and select New Calendar then click OK the file imports like I wanted and my script errors out saying it can't find the "Add Events" window. Clearly my script loads the file into iCal fine. Then it has problems. Here are my guesses as to what goes wrong:
1. maybe the "Add event" window is modal and iCal won't respond to the script until the window is dealt with.
2. maybe the pop up button is not a pop up button and is some other UI element .
3. maybe there is an issue with focus
4. maybe I have no clue, should stop speculating, and someone will help me.

I'm stuck too. Although the Accessibility Inspector describes the “Add events” window as belonging to iCal, the script seems not to see that window as a UI element of iCal:

Is there a new easier way to combine all calendars into one?

This is a two-part question...
I was wondering if anyone had found an easier way to do this instead of exporting a calendar and importing into a main calendar, and repeating untill all calendars were in one. I have 8 calendars on my computer, but then another 11 on iCloud. These were done over years and had I known how confusing it would get I would never had created more than one or two. I would assume the iCloud calendars with the same names as my computer calendars would be sync'd and have same info?
But also, in many of these calendars I have multiple entries. "Doctor appointment at 3:00"... Maybe 8 times on one particular day. Those multiples are scattered about through all calendars. It's a mess! lol! Is there a way to globally delete duplicate entries on the same day and time? Or must that be a manual task?
Any help someone could give me would be greatly appreciated, and Thank You in advance!!

Okay, I realized it wouldn't take much time to export and import all those calendars into a new all-inclusive calendar, so I've done that. One at a time I exported each calendar to a folder on my desktop. Then I made the new calendar and imported from that "exported" folder, each cal that I exported. I wonder how confident I can be that everything came into the new calendar? I mean, it went back to 2006 or so.
I want to delete all the old calendars. If I do that, will iCloud delete those calendars as well, or do I have to manually delete them from iCloud or it will sync and add back to my computer what I had just deleted? I guess iCloud will update and sync to the new single calendar?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions. I'm just scared of losing years of records of dates I may need to remember. I'm not a very technical person (as you may have guessed :-)!

Problem 2:
The record in mysql table is inserted in bengali font (eg. কাকা). When I retrieve the record and display in a jsp page, I can see the bengali word (কাকা) properly. But if I insert the bengali word again in MySql table, then I see some string like "�?া�?া" storing in the table.
Please help me out..

Is there a way to merge several iCal calendars into one?

Anyone know if there is a way to merge several iCal calendars into one Calendar? I've separated a few different calendars for things and want to merge all of those events into one universal Calendar. I asked Apple Support and they stated there isn't a way to do this. So, I'm throwing this out there in case someone knows a way.

Found the answer after troubleshooting on my own. I was able to do this on a PC by using Office 2007 and the calendar in there. I also had to setup Mobile Me to the calendar on my PC which was fairly easy.
What you'll have to do is have Mobileme sync your calendar data with Outlook.
Then after they sync in Outlook... manually select each imported calendar, choose to view all appointments, select all (to select all of your events), copy, then paste them into the main "Calendar".
Follow this step for all of your calendars and it works like charm.
The only thing left to do after you've copied them all is to delete the old calendars after you have all of the events copied.
This may be able to be done in iCal too using similar methods, however it was really easy for me to do it in Windows with Outlook 2007.
Just keep in mind that you want to view all events from each separate calendar and just copy those into your main calendar.

I have this same problem in October of 2013. I am unable to import .ics files into Lion that I exported from my Snow Leopard MacBookPro without losing all of my future events (which all have alerts attached). All of the events from BEFORE today's date are successfully importing, presumably because they are no longer expected to trigger alerts via Apple Mail. After my first unsuccessful attempt, I learned that iCal was communicating with iCloud by default. I have since turned off iCloud, but I have not found a solution to the problem. Harvey

Export Overlaid calendar into Excel

I have a calendar in SharePoint 2013 that is overlaid with 9 additional calendars. I need to be able to export all the events from all of the calendars in one spreadsheet to run calculations on some of the data the user inputs when creating the event.
The only way I know how to do this is to export each calendar separately into one spreadsheet, but my non-computer-savy boss will need to do this multiple times a week as the schedule is updated. Is there an easy way to set it up with as few steps as possible?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to export the Calendars Overlay to Excel.
The Calendars Overlay function can only be used to create a special view to see your own schedule and the group schedule from other calendars at the same time, not the content.
Thus we could not export the calendar overlay to a Excel, it’s by design.
The simply way just as you have known, export multiply calendars into separate Excels, then combine the Excels files.
