Fusion Analytics vs BI Apps.

Hi All,
Does anyone remember the Oracle Fusion Analytics piece that was built over Oracle DBI? Is it still around and where does it fit in the original BI picture? Is it still supported? And can it be upgraded to BI Apps?
AFAIK, it was based on the DBI tables in the EBS OLTP system as opposed to having a separate OLAP database like BI Apps.

You are 100% correct about Fusion Intelligence being built on top of DBI.
Fusion Analytics are still available as options for E-Business Suite installations only.
If you look at the licensable options for EBS on E-Delivery you will see the list of auxilary products:

There isn't a lot of documentation/information out there regarding Fusion Intelligence. As far as I know, Gerard Braat has the best explanation about the integration between Oracle BI EE and Oracle eBS:

Where to start?
If you ask Oracle, you should start with Oracle BI Applications. I think it depends on what you want to do with it. Oracle BI Applications is the future. Fusion Intelligence still exists and that's it, I guess.

VMWare Fusion unity view vm apps crash under Mavericks

Just upgraded to Mavericks. All good, except unity view in VMWare Fusion of my Windows XP vm doesn't work. It boots fine, and windows pop up. But as you click on them, instead of being able to use a program either (1) the window disappears from view, or (2) the program crashes. MS Access crashes all the time as soon as unity view is engaged. Mac OS report says, "KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE." Clearly, VMWare Fusion's unity view and the new multiple monitor support in Mavericks are not compatible. I need an update, like, today!

Oracle Fusion Middleware Backup & Recovery Apps server

Hi, All
This could be a stupid question, but I am going to ask it anyway.
I just want to know which files are the most critical to backup on a application server what ells is neccesery for a complete backup and recovery strategy for 'n server like this in a clusted environment?
Can any body help met with this?

Running Fusion - want to see a windows app on the Mac dock

Odata Connection Refresh Error while using excel web app - Project Online 2013

I am trying to work with odata reporting on project online 2013. I am not using MS Excel client, I open any of the available default report in excel online. when i try to refresh data connection from data tab. it's giving me an error
as show below

I have already enabled "PWA for excel web app refresh" feature.
Following the blog instructions and microsoft support, i have tried to grant permission to
AppId= 00000009-0000-0000-c000-000000000000
And In the Permission Request XML field, copy and paste the following XML:

I again go to my BI reporting, open my report in excel online and refresh the data connection and nothing changed. It's giving me the same error.

Ok, why did manually add / update the permission XML? Do you get this error for new Excel based reports? Test creating a new one, example here:

How to Recreate DashboardBuilder IMT Analytics for Use in BI workspaces 4.x

Hi,
With the conversion of the SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Builder product to SAP BusinessObjects BI workspaces, support for the universal-based visualization analytics was removed. The list of available analytics was eliminated from the module library, thereby disallowing the creation of analytics directly in BI workspaces.
As a result, analytics created previously in Dashboard Builder can be opened in BI workspaces, but they are not displayed, instead the user will see an information message.
The solution to this change is to recreate the required analytics in other SAP BusinessObjects tools, such as SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Design or SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. You can then substitute the new analytics for the objects created previously in Dashboard Builder.

Thanks, I am able to set the java path in windows environment and able to execute the jar command. It created a analytics2.ear file but when i try to deploy from the weblogic console it gives the following error..
[J2EE:160120]Error: The module, 'analytics.war', is declared either in the application.xml or in the weblogic-application.xml descriptor but cannot be found in the ear file.
Trying to research on the above. Any inputs are appreciated. I have the following files in my directory
1. analytics2.war
2.analytics2-ws.war
3. META-INF
They are in Analytics_war directory of windows. I am not able to use
jar -cf analytics.war -C app .
as it gives me an error that 'app\. folder does not exits. Replaced with Analytics_war assuming that it is looking to write the file to app folder still it did not work.

Fusion Intelligence for E-Busniess Suite

Does the BI Apps 7.9 include the ebusiness suite or is it only the Siebel products? Is there a separate module for ebusiness suite R11i

Be careful about the terminology here
Fusion Intelligence is an OBIEE based product for EBS that is now obsolete.
It is like DBI and uses summary tables / MV's in the EBS schema.
Oracle BI apps 7.9.6 is also called Fusion Edition of BI apps and is not directly related to Fusion Intelligence referred above.

Unable to upload iphone app since yesterday

I am using xcode 4.4 and macos 10.7.4. I was able to upload my app in the past, but not since yesterday. I always upload from Xcode.
Since yesterday, I was able to archive and validate the binary, but when I "distribute", it took a long time then showed the following errors (I tried many times already and the same every time. I did not change the password of my account. The difference between now and past: a. updated xcode to latest, b. added google analytics to the app)

Try restarting the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 46 of the iPhone User Guide.

How to recreate analytics.ear file - One BI Server,2 rpds, 2 Presen servers

Hi
I am trying to launch 2 rpds, 2 presentation servers on One BI Server in windows environment.
1. Scaled out BI Presentation Servers Vertically.
2. Created seperate DSN's for each rpd
3. Created two seperate webcatalogs with different paths to point to each presentation server directories.
4. Created two seperate instanceconfig.xml files with different Catalog paths
5. Configured nqsconfig.ini with two rpds
6. Configure and deploy analytics.ear/analytics.war files with two different ports and different names...
The issue is i unpacked the analytics.ear file and analytics.war file using 7zip and changed the ports i wanted to compress them back to create analytics2.ear and analytics2.war. How do i create analytics2.ear. I created using 7zip but while deploying the file i get error 'error in opening zip file analytics.ear c:\analytics\analytics.ear'. I am unable to create using command line options using as i get an error jar command is not recognized. Any help is appreiiated.

ADF Faces Query Panel: How to display master data in detail table?

Before stating the question, here is the background:
I've a Fusion ADF (model/viewController) app that includes 2 tables with a master-detail relationship. The master table stores error numbers and associated levels of logging severity; the detail table stores the actual message text. These need to be separate, related tables because the requirement is that message text for a given error number can vary by product release.
Messages are added in a bounded task flow; data for the master table entered in 1 fragment, data for the detail table in a 2nd page fragment. In the app, the Entity Objects for these tables are related with a foreign key association and have a composition association. This was done because the error numbers are generated in an Oracle DB sequence, and from what i have read that is a way in a task flow to have ADF put the number generated for the master table into the related key of the child table.
The question is this:
I need to create an ADF query panel with a table that searches on the detail DB table. However, i also need to use a couple of fields from the master DB table in both the query and in the ADF table. In addition, I need to add the ability for the user to edit either the master or detail record for the row he/she selects in the ADF table. I know how to create a view that would display the info i need; however, i have not been able to figure out how to obtain the keys for the selected ADF table row and pass them to the task flows that would edit.
The master table has a numeric primary key. The detail table primary key consists of a foreign key to the master key and also a release number.
I'm new to ADF and have been struggling with how to do this: i've a workaround that is functional but too klunky to be a permanent solution. So, could someone point me to some information on how to accomplish this?

Thanks. I tried this out, but ran into an issue in that the detail table has 2 keys - a foreign key to the master primary key, and a 2nd key that uniquely distinguishes the detail. So i tried various things centered around using the SetCurrentRowWithKey operation and trying to obtain the selected ADF table row using an EL OF #{data.<pageDef>.<Iterator>.currentRowKeyString}; however i could not get the detail record for the selected row to display.
I did find another approach that worked - I am wondering, is there anything problematic with this approach?:
1. Create a VO joining the Master and Detail tables, with the Detail table being updatable.
2. Made sure the applicable attributes were defined as keys.
3. Add a query panel w/table using this VO.
4. Create an ADF form based on the VO, showing the updatable fields.
5. Create a bounded task flow with the following set on the Behavior tab:
a. Share data controls with calling task flow
b. Always Begin Transaction
I specifically am wondering whether "Share data controls with calling task flow" has any negative implications or gotchas to handle. The doc at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b31974/taskflows_parameters.htm#ADFFD1693 doesn't suggest so, but just wanted to double-check before I go down this path.
